"Hey it's Cooper. Leave your name and number at the tone."

"Coop, it's Blaine. Please can you call me back. I really, really need to talk to you," Blaine said leaving a message on his older brother's phone. He had been trying to get a hold of his brother for the better half of the afternoon, but still had not been able to get through. By this point, Blaine had lost track of how many times he had called his brother or how many voicemails he had left. All he could do was hope that his brother would check his phone soon and call him back.

Blaine leaned his head back against the wall he was sitting up against as a new wave of tears streamed down his cheeks. He couldn't believe that everything had ended up like this. He and Kurt were supposed to live happily ever after, but all of that had shot up in flames earlier that afternoon when Blaine had found all of Kurt's flirtatious text messages that he had been sending some other random guy. Sure, Blaine shouldn't have gone through his phone, but it kept vibrating and vibrating and all Blaine wanted to do was turn it off. And that's when he saw all of the messages.

Blaine was pulled from his thoughts by a ringing phone. Finally, his brother was calling him back.

"Coop?"

"Hey Blaine, what's going on?" Cooper answered, his voice laced with concern. After all, he had dozens of missed calls and voicemails from his little brother.

Blaine fought back a sob. "Kurt cheated."

"Wait, Kurt? As in your boyfriend Kurt?" Cooper was shocked. When he was home last, he was sure that Kurt and Blaine were going to end up married with children one day. And now apparently they were going to break up. What had he missed?

"Yeah," Blaine choked out. God, this was going so much worse than Blaine could have hoped. His brother was supposed to be cheering him up.

"Blaine? Blaine! Just take a deep breath ok?" Cooper said calmly, hoping his little brother would follow his lead. He was still extremely concerned about Blaine, but right now, he needed to make sure that Blaine could actually form coherent sentences so he could get a better idea of what was going on.

Cooper waited patiently as Blaine tried to get his breathing and sobs under control. "That's it, Blaine. Nice, deep breaths," Cooper guided.

Blaine took one final deep breath. "Ok. Now can you tell me what happened?" Cooper asked.

"We haven't been talking as much or spending as much time together as we used to. So Kurt started talking to this guy he met at the music store and he's been texting him and flirting with him. And—and," Blaine said, before he started crying again.

"Ok. Do you know he was flirting with the guy?"

"I saw the texts."

"Did you try talking to Kurt about all of this?" Cooper asked. He at least hoped that Blaine would have tried talking, but at this point, he was still trying to get the entire story. Although, for all he knew, Blaine could have already given him the full story.

"That's why I think we're going to break up. I tried to talk to him about it, but then he got mad and now I think we're going to break up."

"What happened?"

"He said it was my fault for being distant. But I wasn't trying to be distant. He's leaving for New York in a few months and I'm going to be stuck in Ohio without him. And the worst part is—is that I should be going to New York with him."

"I know, Blainey. Do you maybe think you're overreacting a bit?" Cooper suggested.

"What? No," Blaine said instantly. "My boyfriend is cheating on me. It's not overreacting."

"Blaine, I get that you're upset, but right now I think you really just need to talk to Kurt. I know you don't want to, but that's the only way this problem is gonna get fixed."

"But—"

"Just listen for one minute, Blaine. You're upset, and you have every right to be. Kurt shouldn't be flirting with other guys while dating you. But he can have other friends. He can text them, just like you can text your friends. Ok?"

"Ok," Blaine said softly.

"Now you also gotta realize that it's going to suck having Kurt leave, but it's going to happen. Talk to him. Tell him that you're scared, but don't just distance yourself. Talk. To. Him," Cooper articulated. Blaine was silent. "Ok?"

"Ok," Blaine mumbled quietly, before going silent again.

Cooper wasn't sure what else he could do. After all, he was in California and Blaine was in Ohio. It wasn't as if he could just go over to his parents' house and comfort his little brother. Right now, Cooper just wished that were an option.

"Blainey, are you going to be ok?"

"I don't know," Blaine admitted through tears.

Damn, Cooper thought. It must be bad. Blaine was never a person to admit how bad things are and now he's not sure if he's going to be ok? This was not good.

"Ok, Blaine, take a couple deep breaths, ok?"

Cooper waited, listening carefully to make sure his brother had followed his instruction. It took a while, but Cooper eventually heard Blaine take several deep, shaky breaths.

"Ok, are you a little calmer?"

"I guess."

"Can you tell me what's still bothering you?"

Blaine was silent for a moment.

"Blaine?"

"It's just—what if he wants this guy more than me?" Blaine asked quietly.

"Then it's going to be his loss. You can find someone better. But before you jump to any conclusions, talk to Kurt."

"Ok," Blaine muttered.

Both brothers were silent for a moment. "Blaine, do you want me to stay on the phone?" Cooper asked.

"No, you can go."

"You're sure you're going to be ok?"

"Mmhmm."

Cooper let out a sigh. "Ok. Just promise you'll call me if you need anything."

"I will."

"Ok, then. I'll talk to you later, Blaine. I love you."

"Love you, too."

"It's going to be ok, Blaine. I promise."

"Cooper?"

"Yeah?"

"Thanks."

"Any time little brother. I'll talk to you later." Cooper hung up the phone, making sure to keep it close by, just in case.
