"Happy Anniversary," James smiled, clinking his wine glass against mine. "We survived the year, despite the idiots who tried to come between us."
"I'd say that's cause for celebration," I grinned, taking a sip from my glass.
"Well then, congratulations to us."
"I love you," I sighed contentedly, looking into his sparkling eyes from across the table.
"And I love you, Maya. Never leave me, ok?"
"I'll be right by your side, James. Always. I love you so much."
KENDALL'S POV
"Reyna? C'mon, baby, let's go!" I glanced down at my watch and bit my bottom lip, beginning to grow worried about the time.
"I'm here, I'm here!" Reyna came running down the stairs, heels in one hand, clutching her phone tightly in the other. "How do I look?"
"Absolutely stunning," I smiled, leaning forward to kiss her cheek. "All ready?"
"Not really," she whined, scrutinizing every last detail of her outfit. "Are you sure we're ready to do this?"
"Oh hell yes," I nodded, steering her to the door. "You're meeting them today."
"But Ken-"
"Nope. Shoes on. Let's go."
"Wait, one last mirror check!"
"Reyna, get out of the car."
"Wait, I-"
"Reyna."
"But-"
"Reyna."
"I-"
I gave her one look and she shut her mouth, dropping her head in defeat. "Fine. Let's go."
"Thank you." I took her hand in mine and walked up the steps to the house I grew up in. "Ready?"
"Sure," Reyna smiled, squeezing my hand.
I knocked on the door and a smile immediately appeared on my face when my parents opened it. "Mom, Dad, meet my soon-to-be Mrs. Schmidt."
