A/N: I knoooooow it's been forever :( I am so so so so sorry! Life (and stupid school) got in the way :( One of my best friends was very sick in the past half year and that kind of had a huge impact on my life. I don't exactly wanna go into detail, I just hope you can understand.
So, here's the long-awaited new chapter of "Talk to me" :)
Please enjoy reading! :)

"There you are! You really didn't have to wash the dishes. I could have done it later", Julia said as Kensi and Deeks walked into the living room. She didn't even notice their interlaced fingers, just motioned for them to take a seat on the couch across from her.

They sat down and that's when Julia noticed their intertwined hands. Deeks was nervously playing with Kensi's fingers and she was doing the same, her other hand coming into the mix as well.

Julia smiled at them but didn't say a word. She would wait for them to start talking. It was only fair to wait until they were ready to say something. "Mom, we have, um, something we'd like to tell you", Kensi said nervously.

Julia smiled brightly. "Okay, go ahead", she encouraged her daughter. Kensi looked at Deeks for help. How was she supposed to say this? 'Oh by the way, mom, I started dating my work partner and not even our boss knows yet'?

Not the best idea. But then again, what kind of options did she have? Before she was able to say anything though, Deeks blurted out: "I'm in love with your daughter."

Julia grinned brightly and Kensi blushed. When her eyes met Deeks' though, he only smiled at her. "I know", Julia said, nodding knowingly. Ignoring her mom's response, Kensi spoke up: "We've been dating for a day and you're the first person to find out."

She squeezed Deeks' hand and he smiled at her reassuringly. It was going well so far. "I am the first person to find out? Does nobody at work know?", Julia asked, surprised by the revelation.

Kensi and Deeks nodded. "But I thought Hetty knows everything?!", Julia questioned, making Kensi laugh. "You told her about the ninja?", Deeks asked, laughing along. Kensi nodded.

"Well, mom, it seems that she hasn't figured it out yet. But maybe she's just not saying anything", she replied to her mom. Julia nodded and eyed them closely. Deeks gulped nervously.

What if she didn't approve of their relationship? Sure, she hadn't freaked out to begin with. But what if she was going to give them a lesson on how work partners shouldn't date?

What if she thought he wasn't a good boyfriend for her daughter? "I knew you love her the second I met you", Julia said, smiling at Deeks. "You..you did?", he asked, kind of shocked.

He didn't dare to look at Kensi, afraid of her reaction. "The way you talked about her..that gave it away. And then later, I saw the way you look at her. It was obvious that you love her", Julia stated like it was no big deal.

Only it was. It was a very big deal. Julia turned to her daughter and smiled widely. "And I know you love him too. I can see it in your eyes, Kensi", she said softly and Kensi smiled, tears pooling in her eyes.

"Yes, I love him", she whispered. Deeks' breath caught. She had just said that she loves him. Indirectly. But still! He squeezed her hand and she turned to look at him, smiling almost shyly.

They would talk about this later. Now wasn't the right time. Not with Kensi's mom sitting across from them. "So, you are okay with this?", Deeks asked carefully and Julia smiled at him warmly.

"Of course I am. I know I can trust you with her because you two are great partners already. And you make her happy. What more could I ask for?", Julia said and Kensi blushed.

"Thank you, mom", she said quietly. It meant a lot to her that her mom approved. She couldn't really explain why but she just knew it did matter. A lot. They were quiet for a moment, then Julia spoke up again: "You know I'd love to spend more time with you but I don't wanna keep you too long. How about we meet up again on Friday? I can cook dinner again, if you want."

Kensi and Deeks exchanged a look and then nodded. "That sounds wonderful", Deeks agreed. "We'd love to come again on Friday", Kensi added. Julia smiled, then escorted them to the door.

She hugged Kensi and then turned to Deeks. "You take care of her", she whispered so only he could hear. "Always", he replied just as quietly and Julia smiled. She waved as they made their way to the car and smiled to herself. There was nothing quite like young love.

They were silent on the way to Deeks' apartment where they'd agreed to spend the night together. However, Deeks' thoughts were running wild. She had said she loves him.

She had actually said it out loud. And not just to Monty or something but to her mom. And indirectly to him. He just wished she would say it again, say the actual words, the 'I love you'. Not just 'I love him'.

Just minutes before their talk with Julia they had discussed the topic in the kitchen. She'd said she'd say it soon. But he hadn't exactly been convinced that she was ready to say it yet.

But now she had. And he couldn't keep the grin off his face as he drove the car. When they finally walked in, Kensi immediately sat down on the couch and he followed her.

"You said it", he said, grinning like an idiot and Kensi laughed. She sat closer to him and rested her hand above his heart. "I did", she confirmed. "Say it again", he begged.

He just really wanted to hear her say it, hear her say the actual words. To him. She leaned closer, their faces almost touching. "I love you", she then whispered.

He smiled brightly and kissed her lips. "And I love you", he replied, his lips brushing hers. She kissed him again, more deeply this time. Her arms found their way around his neck and she pushed her body closer to his.

His arms snaked around her waist, pulling her into his lap. Eventually they broke the kiss and Deeks rested his forehead against hers. "How long until we tell the others?", he asked quietly.

She chuckled. "You just want to be able to touch me at work", she accused. He shrugged and gave her his best puppy dog face. She rolled her eyes and laughed.

"That's so inappropriate!", she said, trying to sound disgusted but failing miserably. "Since when is holding hands and kissing considered inappropriate?", he questioned.

She laughed, but then turned serious again. "Is it okay if we try to wait another day or two? I don't exactly wanna be office gossip just yet", she asked softly and he kissed her nose.

"Of course", he promised. He gazed into her eyes and smiled at her. "I love you, Kens", he reminded her. She smiled back. "I love you, too, Marty", she whispered. And God, it had never felt better to say a few little words.
