Dangerous Liaisons:
Rebekah and I sat on one of the couches in the living home as two compelled women did our nails for the ball that the Original Witch was throwing that evening to welcome the Mikaelson family to Mystic Falls. A gentle indie song was playing in the background as Kol and Finn tried on tuxedos for the ball in the mirrors that had been brought down.
"Rebekah? Tell me how handsome I am." Kol ordered playfully as he admired himself in the mirror.
"Ah Kol, you know I can`t be compelled." His sister responded calmly from her spot next to me on the couch and I chuckled lightly at their sibling banter as Finn grinned at the insult. Showing the Mikaelson siblings get along made me a little envious that Elena and I were not getting along at the moment.
"Whatever. Ellyse?" Kol asked as he turned to face me with a smirk and I looked at him in mock examination but the sound of the door opening saved me from answering the youngest Mikaelson brother.
"You went after Elena? What is wrong with you?!" Nik shouted as he entered the room and my eyebrows rose at the accusation.
"I did no such thing." I denied honestly in a huff as I inspected my freshly done nails.
"Here we go." Bek muttered quietly as she rolled her pretty blue eyes and I smirked over at her before looking back at Nik.
"Not you, Ellyse. Rebekah." He corrected me as he glared at his sister heatedly.
"Oh. You tried to kill Elena? Why wasn't I invited?" I asked my best friend with a pout and she grinned at me.
"I'll be sure to next time." Rebekah told me as she bumped her shoulder with mine.
"Do you want another dagger in your heart?" Nik asked her angrily and we both turned our heads to glare at him.
"Again with the dagger threats? Don`t you have any other tricks?" Kol asked mockingly as he jumped down from the pedestal in front of the mirror.
"Oh, go back to staring at yourself."
"And who are you, my father?"
"No, Kol, but you`re in my house." Nik replied to him calmly and my head snapped around to give him a pointedly look. "Our. It's our house." He corrected himself as he rolled his light blue eyes and I smiled slightly.
"Then perhaps we should go outside." Kol taunted as he stepped closer to his brother and I shook my head at the two them. The sound of heels clinking on the tiled floor could be heard and we all turned to see Esther walk into the doorframe separating the parlour and the living room.
"Enough! Niklaus...come." she ordered sternly before she turned back around and walked away down to the study that she had claimed as hers. Nik sent Kol and Rebekah one last glare before following his mother silently.
"Niklaus is in trouble…." I whispered in a singsong voice getting a chuckle from both Rebekah and Kol as well a grin from Finn who stood in front the mirror still. I watched as Rebekah stood up from her position on the couch elegantly.
"Ellyse, fancy going to lunch at the grill?" she asked me as she smiled lightly down at me and I smirked up at her as I stood up from the couch as well. I waved goodbye to Kol and Finn as I linked my other arm through Bek's arm. We both smiled at each other before we use our vampire speed to run to the Mystic Grill in the centre of town.
"So, who are you inviting to the ball?" I asked my best friend as we strolled into the grill arm in arm and the tall blonde girl blushed slightly as she ducked her head.
"Matt." She admitted to me as she looked at the handsome blonde human boy that was near the grill counter clearing dirty dishes. I grinned at her happily as she giggled like the teenage girl that she was.
"I'm sorry. It's just I, I don't even know how I feel about it yet. All I do know is that it just used to be so much easier." I heard my sister say somewhere in the grill so I frowned as I looked around until I located her and Caroline sitting in one of the booths. I nudged Rebekah subtly and pointed to where the two girls were sitting when she looked at me in question. We both wore matching smirks as we walked up to the booth they were sitting in.
"Careful Caroline. It's all well and good until she stabs you in the back." Bek quipped as we came to a stop besides their table and Elena and Caroline both looked up at us in distain.
"What are you doing here? I know your mom's rules. No hurting the locals." Elena spat at her venomously so I rolled my eyes at her.
"Get over yourself Elena. It's not all about you." I told her with a smug smile as Rebekah and I walked away from them. "I'll meet you near the back." I said to Rebekah softly when I noticed her staring at Matt but when I started walking away from her she gripped my arm so hard that I heard the bone crack. "Ow! Ow, ow, ow."
"Sorry." She exclaimed as she let go of my arm quickly and I groaned in pain as I straightened my arm. "Sometimes I forget I'm stronger than everyone."
"It's fine. What's up?" I asked her in concern as we stopped in the middle of the grill and she looked back at me with pleading blue eyes.
"I'm nervous…" she whispered to me so that all I could hear her and I smiled at her sympathetically.
"He's going to say yes." I told her confidently with a shrug of my shoulder and she scoffed at me as she rolled her eyes.
"How the hell do you know?"
"I know everything." I answered her cryptically with a half-smile as she narrowed her eyes at me. I laughed lightly as I gave her a push in Matt's direction and then I walked over to a vacant table as I walked her talk to the blonde boy with a shy smile on her lips.
I entered the downstairs of the mansion where the ball was going on with a small smile on my face as I looked around at all the town members I wasn't to know when I was human. I ran my hand down the front of my teal floor length dress with a simply elegant high sparkling jewel embellished halter top neckline that showed off my bare shoulders and a ruched bodice with an empire waistline self-consciously. I bit my lower lip nervously forgetting about ruining my lipstick as I looked around the crowded room.
"You're going to ruin your make-up." Rebekah scolded me lightly as she glided up next to me out of nowhere and I smiled a little as I released my lip from my teeth.
"Not my biggest worry at the moment, Bek." I shot back at her as she smirked at me knowingly and I rolled my eyes at her in amusement.
"Well, well, well, Ellyse you don't clean up half bad." Kol said from behind me teasingly as he moved to my other side gracefully and I smirked to myself a little.
"Was that a compliment or an insult, Kol?" I asked him in confusion but he didn't answer me as he smirked out into the crowd with me and Rebekah. Since other Mikaelson siblings had been undaggered, I had gotten to know Kol, Elijah and Finn rather well but I was closest to Rebekah and Kol mainly because of our closeness in age. I had found something in common with all the Original siblings in the past few days. Elijah and I bonded over literature and history while Kol and I had found that our sense of humour were almost the exact same so I had been catching him up on the last 100 years of movies and television shows that I thought he might like.
"Ooh! I see my brother eying you…" Rebekah teased me lightly in amusement and I rolled my eyes at her but instantly blushed at the statement.
"Aww. That's adorable." Kol mocked me from the other side as he followed our eye line making me playfully slapped his chest with the back of my hand and he pretended to be hurt.
"Shut up." I said to the both of them as I started walking towards where Niklaus stood with a smirk watching me interact with his younger siblings.
"Good Evening." He greeted me with a soft smile as he leaned down to press a kiss to my cheek and I smiled a little at him as he pulled away from me. I linked my arm through his as I glanced around the room in a mixture of displeasure, excitement and annoyance.
"I need a drink." I stated with a pout as I thought about how I was going to make it through the night surrounded by these people sober. Nik chuckled lightly at me but grabbed to champagne glasses from a passing waiter before handing one to me. "Oh, thank God." I muttered to myself as I took it from him and downed it in one gulp.
"You look enchanting, Ellyse." I heard a familiar melodic voice say from my other side so I turned to greet them with a genuine warm smile.
"Dashing as always, Elijah." I complimented him with a smile as he kissed my cheek in greeting and I felt Nik's hand tighten on my waist.
"Niklaus." Elijah greeted his brother with a nod and Nik nodded back silently as I rolled my eyes at the animosity between the two. "It's time to greet the guests."
"We'll just be a moment." Nik assured him smoothly and I frowned in confusion at his words.
"What do you mean 'we'll'?" I asked him as I turned to face him with a horrified expression on my face but he just grinned at me cheekily so that his dimples drew me in.
"The whole family is gathering on the stairs." Elijah informed me as though it was obvious and I turned my head to look at him before looking back at Nik.
"No."
"No?" Nik repeated after me as he moved to stand at Elijah's side like a barrier stopping me from running anywhere.
"No."
"Yes."
"No." I repeated again firmly as I looked between the two amused smirk's on Nik and Elijah's face through narrowed eyes.
"What seems to be the problem?" Rebekah asked in an irritated voice as she glided over to us and I faced her with a frown on my face as her brother's continued to smirk.
"They're trying to get me to greet the guests with them."
"Well of course you're going to greet the guests with us." She snapped at me as she placed her hands on her hips and I gaped at her in horror as I took a step back to run away but I ran into a hard body before I could turn around.
"Oh, come on, darling. We aren't that stupid." Kol whispered in my ear from behind me and I huffed in defeat as he chuckled at me childish antics. Rebekah grabbed one of my forearms in her hands with a smile so that I couldn't go anywhere as she dragged me up the stairs. Rebekah, Kol and I stood at the highest point the curved staircase because we were the youngest, Niklaus was just below us so that his hand was still on the small of my back and then Finn was standing just behind Elijah.
"Uh, if everyone could gather, please." Elijah called the crowd underneath us to attention and all the guests seemed to freeze to look up at us on the stairs. I plastered a fake smile on my lips as I discreetly pressed my high heel into Rebekah's shin but she didn't move a muscle as she also faked smiled.
"I hate you all." I seethed angrily but they all ignored me except for the smirks Kol and Nik wore.
"Welcome, thank you for joining us. You know, whenever my mother brings our family together like this, it's tradition for us to commence the evening with a dance. Tonight's pick is a centuries-old waltz, so if all of you could please find yourselves a partner, please join us in the ballroom." Elijah finished as he gestured towards the ballroom and I sighed in relief as everyone began making their way.
"Come on, beauty." Nik said to me softly as he held out his hand for me to take and I smiled as I placed my hand in his. We walked to the ballroom hand in hand as the music to Ed Sheeran's Give Me Love began to play. I smiled brightly as Nik placed his hand on my waist and I put my hand on his shoulder as all the couples started to dancing in time with the music.
Give me love like her,
'Cause lately I've been waking up alone,
Pain splattered teardrops on my shirt,
Told you I'd let them go,
And that I'll fight my corner,
Maybe tonight I'll call ya,
After my blood turns into alcohol,
No, I just wanna hold ya.
Give a little time to me or burn this out,
We'll play hide and seek to turn this around,
All I want is the taste that your lips allow,
My, my, my, my, oh give me love,
My, my, my, my, oh give me love,
My, my, my, my, oh give me love,
My, my, my, my, give me love,
"You look stunning, if it isn't obvious." Nik complimented me softly with his lips only an inch from my ear and I fought a shiver that his breath on my skin caused.
"Thank you." I said to him as I leaned in slightly to his touch as we danced and I looked around at Rebekah dancing with Matt, Elena dancing with Damon before I grabbed Nik's hand in mine. He looked at me with a confused frown and I saw the hurt in his light blue eyes because he thought I was stopping him. I tugged on his hand for him to follow me as I lead him off of the dancing floor without a backwards glance.
"Where are we going exactly, beauty?" Nik asked me in confusion as I pulled him into an empty room on the other side of the house.
"Shut up." I ordered him as I closed the door behind us and slammed him into the closest wall before pressing my lips against his desperately. He kissed me back immediately as I began pushing his tuxedo jacket down his shoulders without detaching my lips from his. "Don't rip my dress." I demanded as I finally pulled back from him a little and he nodded jerkily before attacking my lips again.
"Oh, God, you two! Can't you keep your hands to yourself for an hour or two during a party?" I heard Rebekah's voice cut into our own little world and I immediately pulled away to glare at my best friend who was standing in the doorway with her hands on her hips.
"What is it, Bek?" I asked her calmly as I stepped away from her brother and I patted my loose curls lightly.
"It's time for the toast." She informed us with a smirk before spinning on heel and striding out of the room. I rolled my eyes at her as Nik picked up his abandoned jacket and slipped it on before leading me from the room with his hand on the small of my back.
"Good Evening, Ladies and Gentleman." I heard Ester saying from the top of the stairs so I giggled lightly as I grabbed Nik's hand to hurry into the ballroom. I grabbed two glasses of champagne from a passing waiter and passed one to Nik as we stopped at the back of the room. "Waiters are coming around with champagne. I invite you all to join me in raising a glass. It provides me with no greater joy then to see my family back together as one. I'd like to thank you all for being part of this spectacular evening. Cheers!"
"Cheers!" everyone in the room echoed her as they drank from their glasses and I smiled at Nik as he clinked his glass with mine.
"Come on, beauty, I want to show you something." Nik whispered in my ear and I smirked at the dirty innuendo behind his words as I looked up at him but he just chuckled as he shook his head at me in amusement. "Not that."
"Damn it." I muttered playfully with a pout as he guided me into his study and looked around at all of the art in the room with a smile.
"Oh. Impressive. I take it the curators at the Louve aren't on vervain." I quipped as I walked further into the room slowly while looking at one of the painting on the wall.
"Yeah, well that's their mistake." Nik retorted with chuckle as he walked over his desk in the middle of the room and I laughed as I made my way over to him. I perched on the edge of the desk as he searched the papers on the desktop and smiled at how his brow furrow as he searched. "Ah! Here it is." He said happily as he found a piece of sketch paper and I leaned over to see what it was.
"Oh my god." I breathed out as I caught sight of the hand drawn charcoal sketch of me on the paper and I felt tears starting to form in the corner of my eyes. Without a second more, I grabbed Niklaus by the lapel of his jacket and crashed my lips against his. He kissed me back instantly as he moved his hands to balance himself on the edge of the desk because I had taken him by surprise. "Bedroom." I demanded huskily as I pulled back from him slightly and he grinned as he lifted my in his arms bridal style. I giggled as he raced us at vamp speed into our bedroom before landing on the soft bed without our lips detaching. He ripped off his jacket in one fast move and I chuckled as I began undoing his dress shirt buttons. "You can rip my dress now." I told him playfully and he growled lowly before tearing the front of my dress down the middle. He began kissing down my neck as I moaned in pleasure and rolled us over so that I was straddling him. Nik smirked at me as I smiled coyly down at him and he placed his hand on my hips. I leaned down to kiss his neck before gently nipping his skin with my teeth and he felt his breathing deepen. His own fangs scratched across the sensitive skin of my neck and I shuddered at the feel before biting down on his neck hard enough to break the skin at the same time that he bit down on me. I moaned into his neck as his delicious blood filled my mouth and I rocked my hips against his before let go and kissing his neck gently as I licked the blood from his skin. Nik detached from my neck with a moan of pleasure as I began fumbling for his zipper of his dress pants.
"God, I love you…" Nik murmured into my neck as I undid his pants and I smiled softly at the loving expression on his face before kissing him.
"I love you too."
