Joe and Tee Check-in Meeting First Week

Tee walked to the diner that Joe had given her directions to yesterday. Once inside the door she scanned the crowd and quickly found him. Amidst the crowd of mostly blond beach bodies typical of LA, it wasn't hard to find a black haired man in a black leather jacket and a body that was ripped to high heaven.

Quickly she made her way over to him. She knew the picture she'd make when he saw her. The bruises and cuts on her face and arms looked like she been thrown from a motorcycle wearing shorts and a tank top, and those were only the visible areas. She really didn't want Joe to see her like this and have him worry about her, but by that same token he had to have known she'd go through some sort of initiation to make it in with this gang. Sighing she took the seat across from him.

Joe looked up and Tee watched his jaw tighten as he looked over her face, neck, chest, and arms. "How bad?" He all but growled.

"Not bad enough to need to go to the hospital." Tee said as she sipped the coffee that he had sitting on the table waiting for her. Quickly she grasped the available topic change. "Thanks for the coffee."

"No problem." A moment passed with Joe saying nothing, he just looked at her as if trying to figure out a way to tell her she wasn't going through with this op. She saw in his expression the second he resigned himself to the fact that she was doing this. "So you in?" He finally asked.

"Yep. They took the bait too. They're going after Misha. I'm doing the hit."

Joe nodded. "Perfect. By the way, I got a call from your sister yesterday. She said she knew you look up the internet copy of the Nashville paper and she didn't want you to freak out. Her and the kids were in an car accident yesterday. They were all okay. The kids were all asleep so they didn't even know what was happening. Your sister has some bruising from the air bag and seatbelt and a broken arm from hitting the door. She wanted you to know they let them all go home after an hour in the hospital."

"Thanks for taking the message. I really appreciate it." She said with a small smile.

"Don't worry about it. She called the office and got transferred, told me our transfer time needs to be cut down."

Tee laughed at that. After Tee's years in the CIA as his partner and now all their years together in BAD, her sister was more then used to talking to her through Joe.

"And I sent Allison to check up on them. Apparently according to Vince the two of them hit it off and Allison and your sister have coffee plans for next week."

"Good. They're too alike not to hit it off." Tee smiled, she really liked Allison. She was glad that now Allison had a friend in Nashville outside the office who knew about what she did. It seemed things were going good in Nashville.

After breakfast Tee stood to leave and Joe grasped her hand. "Be careful." He said, and again Tee could have sworn she caught a glimpse of something in his eyes.

"I always am." She said before walking out.

Joe and Tee Check-in Meeting 3 Months Later

Tee walked through the streets of LA. She wasn't in the best part of town but that was to be expected. She couldn't every well continue the pretense of being in a gang and meet people in the hills, but then again she couldn't see Joe staying in the hills to begin with.

As she passed the glass windows of the diner she checked her make-up. Unfortunately her cover-up wasn't covering enough up. Her black and blue cheek was still visible even under the thick layer she had applied that morning before leaving. Sighing she pushed through the door and glanced around.

As usual Joe was sitting in the far corner with no one around him. He was staring out the window as Tee approached. He didn't look at her until she sat down. She knew the minute her injuries registered with him because his eyes narrowed and his nostrils flared. But as luck would have it the waitress picked that exact moment to come and fill Tee's coffee cup and take her order.

The minute she was out of ear shot though Joe spoke through gritted teeth. "What the hell happened to your face?" Tee shrugged and that only fueled Joe's anger. "Spill it now. And I mean spill it all." He said firmly, his accent thicker then Tee ever remembered hearing it.

"Some guy in the gang came to my apartment door last night. He tried to get me to help him out with his two week lull in getting laid. I said no and let's just say he didn't understand the meaning the first six times."

"You okay?" He asked concerned.

"You mean did his two week lull just get reset at zero?" Joe nodded. "No, and with the recovery time from the testicle retrieval operation he's going to need, I'd estimate his lull is going to last at least another three weeks."

Joe chuckled. "Atta girl." He muttered before continuing. "So you still good for the extraction next week?"

"I can't. They're watching me like hawks right now. I think someone got spooked and I don't think everyone trusts me anymore."

"Damn it. I told you this might happen. Were you able to get anything new to bring with you?"

"No, they saddled me with a roommate. I couldn't get or bring anything." Joe cursed again as the waitress brought their orders.

As they ate Tee asked about everyone back at the office. She smiled when he told her that Hunter and Sydney were actually becoming amicable, Tee had a feeling that Abbie might have had something to do with that. She laughed when he told her that as a prank Jason, Kyle, Gabby and Carlos had managed to get Retter into the safe house and lock him in because Gabby changed all the lock codes. Joe assured her that Carlos had taped it knowing that she would want to see it when she got home.

When the check came she went to grab it like she always did but as always Joe got there first. "You need to keep your money in case you have to get away quick with no notice." It was what he said every week when they met. Tee nodded and went to get up. Before she left Joe placed his hand over hers to stop her.

"Be careful Tee. We all want you back in Nashville, but we want you in the office not in a pine box." Tee nodded and returned to the gang life she hated.
