Lily sighed and pushed back the heavy curtains; she unlocked the door and stepped out onto the balcony she still found it odd to be able to go out in the sun. When they had told her she was a vampire she feared she wouldn't be able to have that option. Lily would never take advantage of that again she wanted to go out but Elijah was adamant about keeping her in till she was ready to interact with humans. She leant against the balcony and saw Elijah along with one of the servants mounting the horse.
The Original could feel eyes on him, and glanced over his shoulder, and easily spotted the forlorn looking red head, he sighed and knew that she wasn't happy about being trapped on the estate, but he had business to deal with and she was still new at the whole vampire thing.
Lily sighed and watched as the servant was beginning to ride off; she blinked and nearly jumped out of her skin when strong firm arms came around her waist.
"Lillian do not look so sad." Elijah murmured into her ear, Lily felt sparks shoot up her spine when he kissed her neck.
"I…you…go wherever you want and I have be here all on my own." She huffed leaning back on his chest. And peered up at him through her lashes. "I thought the whole point of me becoming this-"she gestured to herself "was so that I could be free, and erm…travel the world and go on adventures." Lily murmured placing her hands over his.
Elijah propped his chin on her shoulder "And you can do all of that but not right now." Lily frowned; he could tell that her mood was dampened. "And you won't be on your own, Niklaus is around."
Lily sighed "Oh the joy." She drawled,
"I can make it up to you later though." He purred into her ear, causing a smile to twitch on her face,
"Hmm….how would you go about that?" she murmured playing along, he growled playfully and spun her around, Lily found herself to pinned against the stone railing.
"Something like this-"he pressed his lips against her throat, and they ghosted over her skin…"and something similar to this-"he whispered, pressing himself harder against her. the pit of her stomach twisted in want, "something-"he didn't get the chance to finish his sentence, and smashed her lips against his, a low rumble emerged from Elijah's chest, and he easily dominated the kiss and slipped his tongue into her mouth.
"Like that?" she mewled and moaned, as his fingers glided up her sides. And nodded fervently against him, Lily blurred them into the bedroom, but he quickly flipped their position, and they stumbled into one of the vast book-cases. When she started to fumble with the buttons of his shirt, he gently grasped hold of her wrists forcing her to stop.
"And there will be more of that later." He promised "I should go." He kissed her cheek and didn't miss the look of disappointment on her face. "You have my word I will make it up to you." Elijah brushed his thumb across the apple of her cheek. "And I am a man of my word."
Lily smiled and nodded, he place a brief kiss on her lips and was gone.
A few hours went by and the red head was bored out of her mind, she couldn't stand to look at another gown that Rebekah placed in front of her, so whilst the female Original was busy discussing more gowns with the seamstress, Lily snuck out.
The recently turned vampire was…bored out of her mind, she walked down the hallways and paused when she got to the end, her heightened hearing picked up the sound of something very familiar, charcoal being scratched against paper. Curiosity was either a very good or bad trait, depending how you looked at it.
Her feet carried her to a room right at the end of the manor, she peeked in and saw Niklaus of all people standing at what seemed to be a canvas, Lily could see that he was so absorb in his piece that he didn't notice her. As quiet as possible she entered the room,
"It's missing something." Niklaus growled under his breath, the red head canted her head to the side, and looked at his art-work, she moved closer,
"Not really." Lily murmured, causing the Original to stiffen,
He looked over his shoulder at her, and glared, the red head didn't even blink. "Lillian-"he growled, she rolled her eyes.
"Really-here give me the charcoal." The younger vampire uttered, "Come on Nik-"she pleaded, Niklaus sighed and handed it over.
"If you ruin it I-"
"Will end you-"Lily finished off, "blah, blah, blah…really use some new threats…it's get less effective each time." She murmured, stepping forward a look of concentration passed over her face; she started to shade in certain areas and rubbed her fingers across it. "Ta-da and I am done." She declared and took a step back.
"Well what do you think?" Lily asked, eagerly awaiting Niklaus's response. The Original moved forward and inspected the work.
"It's acceptable-"he declared.
The smile on her face wavered he turned to look at her; she didn't miss the teasing look on his face. "You-arrogant vampire-it is more than good and even you know that." Lily prodded him in the chest,
"I'm the arrogant one? Did you just heard what you said?" he smirked, they were no longer standing side by side, but instead were facing one another. Lily smiled and shrugged her shoulders; perhaps she could have some fun today.
"Face it Nik I am a much better artist then you." Lily stated,
Niklaus cocked an eyebrow "Really? Give me the coal and I can prove that you are not-"he went to snatch it out of her hand, but the younger vampire blurred behind him.
"I'll give it if you ask nicely." She whispered into his ear, Niklaus spun around and caught her hand.
"I'm never nice sweetheart-"he countered she switched the coal into her other hand and placed it behind her back.
"Ah-ha-"she shook her head, moving her head back. "Now there's a nicer way you can ask me Nik." She murmured
Niklaus narrowed his eyes but couldn't help but smile, first time in a long time someone was able to make him do that, he just felt so at ease with her, he knew she wasn't like any other women he had come across in the past, she didn't fear him, she genuinely liked him. Hell she was even willing to spend some time with him without being forced to.
"Lillian-"
"Come on Nik…just ask nicely. You big softie" She smiled, he let out another low growl of annoyance, the red head inched forward and dropped a kiss onto his cheek causing his grip on her to loosen. She grinned and sprinted out of the room, "Come on Nik I still got your charcoal." She yelled, her voice echoing off of the walls. Niklaus grinned and ran after her, and proceeded to chase her all around the mansion. Which was filled with their laughter.
Lily groaned and was slowly brought back to the land of the living; she had been fast asleep all curled up on her bed, when she heard the dreaded sound of cell phone. The red head vampire rubbed her temple in an effort to wake herself up; she blindly reached out and grabbed the shrilling device.
"Hello?" her voice was laced with sleep and exhaustion.
"Lily did I caught you at a bad time?" Lily flopped down back onto her pillows realising that it was Carol Lockwood of all people.
"No-"she lied "what can I do for you?" she uttered, her heightened hearing could pick out the sound of Elijah moving around in the kitchen, there was a sliver of sun-light peering through the gap of her curtains, alerting her that the weather was going to be exactly like the other days.
"Well I was hoping that you'd be able to come to the High-Tea I'm hosting today at the Manor." She supplied,
Lily made a face who on earth has a tea party these days? "Right…well actually-"
"Really Lily-"the mayor cut her off "You have an obligation to attend, since you're housing the guest of honour." She added.
Lily blinked and shook her head, wondering if she heard right. "Sorry?" she asked. "Let me get this right you're hosting a tea-party for Elijah?" she questioned.
There was a loud sigh on the other end of the phone "Yes, what did you not get?" the human asked. "Whose idea was this by the way?" Lily asked.
Elijah had just set a cup of tea down on the breakfast bar; he has been up for the last hour or so. He sat down and was reading the paper; he only just turned the first page when he heard the sound of a bedroom door slamming shut.
Lily stormed out, only clad in her shorts and camisole, "You-"she narrowed her eyes at the Original, who didn't even look startled.
"I-"
"Don't-"she cut him off, and stalked towards him, "You compelled Carol Lockwood to host you a Tea-Party?" she questioned.
Elijah smirked and offered her a mug of tea "I thought you liked Tea?"
Lily rolled her eyes "That's not the point, you can't go round compelling-"she gasped when she found herself pressed against the counter by the dark haired Original,
"You find Lillian that I can do anything I want." He murmured, she was forced to lean backwards. He was more than intimidating, no wonder people were sent running. "And nice choice in night-clothes Lillian" he added playing with the strap of her top, she lightly pushed him back.
"Just-really compelling her?" Lily tutted, ignoring how her pulse was sent racing, the red head planted her hands on her hips,
"You may be shocked to know Lily that not everyone needs to be compelled by me." He added and went back to the breakfast bar. The younger vampire's brows furrowed,
"Did-"she saw the coy smile playing on his lips and snorted realising what he has done "you charmed her."
Elijah's lips stretched into a smile "Some women will do anything to appease a man."
Lily took a sip of her tea and jumped onto a high-stool, she placed her elbows on the counter "Wait…you're saying that she has a crush on you?" she uttered, well this was a surprising turn of events.
"Seems that way. Now as my host you're-"
"Obligated to attend." She finished off, he nodded and she watched as he grabs his suit jacket,
"I'll see you there.-"
"Where-"
"I have business to attend to Lily. Goodbye." He nodded and left, Lilly wasn't too surprised that he didn't mention last night, It was nothing…they just got caught up in the moment,
Lily shook her head, "There was no moment…"she said to herself, before downing the rest of the tea. She glanced at the time and saw that she got more than enough time till the Tea-Party; she might as well go see Jenna. So Lily decided to go and get ready for the day.
She headed into her bathroom, and knew one thing for certain as she stripped out of her clothes, was that Elijah was one impeccable room-mate. He cleaned up after himself and never left the place messy.
This was completely different to the time when Caroline Forbes was staying with her. Lily stepped under the spray of hot water and sighed, after doing her usual routine of washing her body and hair, she took a moment just letting the water wash over her body. Her mind once again found itself back to the previous night; Elijah's words kept ringing around her head. "You're not mine" he had said…what does that even mean? Was she his? Or someone else's? Did he want her to be his? Lily was brought out of her musings when her front door slammed.
"Lily?" she recognised that voice as Jenna's.
"In the shower." Lily yelled back "Make yourself at home." She added, and hurriedly stepped out of her shower.
The vampire grabbed her towel and hastily dried herself off; she wrapped the towel around her body and stepped out into the hallway. "What the hell?" she muttered smelling something being burnt. Lily padded barefooted down the hallway and stopped short at the sight. "Jenna what the-fire-"she shrieked, when something of the stove was engulfed in flames,
"Holy shit-"Jenna shouted and threw something onto it, but it only ignited it further. The vampire rushed forward and winced when her fire-alarm started to shriek. She grabbed the fire-extinguisher which was placed under the sink, she sprayed the pan. And soon enough the alarm had been turned on, something which Jenna had done.
Lily rounded on her friend "What the hell?" she barked,
Jenna smiled sheepishly "Oops-"she offered,
The red head's eye twitched in annoyance "Oops? You scorched my ceiling." She added and looked up and sure enough there was a mark on her once pristine ceiling.
"Yeah…I should so not cook." Jenna muttered
Lily rolled her emerald green orbs, "Now you realised?" she screeched, Jenna made a face "What the hell are you doing here anyway?" she uttered.
"Jesus…I thought living with a gorgeous guy would loosen you up but clearly I was wrong." The shorter woman turned on her heel and made her way back to her bedroom, with Jenna following closely behind. She wasn't surprised when Jenna dropped down on to her bed.
"So you're here because?" Lily asked, grabbing her panties and bra. She gestured Jenna to close her eyes and when she did she quickly slipped them on.
"Because John is at my place." She stated Lily nodded ok that was a reasonable response. "And I need to make sure you look super sexy and chic for the High Tea-Party today." She added, before bouncing off of the bed and taking Lily's place at her closet.
The red head sat down at her vanity table and grabbed her hair-dryer. "So you're going?" she asked plugging the electrical device in.
"Yep. Only for a bit, I and Ric got a sexy weekend away planned" Jenna replied "And you should wear this?"
"A bit too short for a tea party." Lily said as she dried her hair "And when the hell did I buy that?" she asked, seeing the short lace black dress.
Jenna grinned "You didn't I did. Every woman needs a-"
"Slut dress?" the red had just managed to avoid getting hit by a hairbrush.
"It's not a slut dress; every woman needs a little black dress." Jenna nodded to herself "Guarantees some action…just the other night I wore mine and Ric was all over me…he has a lot of stamina-"
"Eww-"Lily balked "gross, gross, gross." She shuddered "I don't want a mental image of you and Ric." She added.
Jenna giggled and shoved the dress back into the closet, "Ok…since we want to dial down the sexiness, this and this should do the trick, you'll look elegant and chic…and Elijah won't be able to keep his eyes off of you." she added as an after-thought.
Lily scrunched up nose "Yeah not going to happen." She uttered and pulled on her blouse and skirt.
Jenna cocked an eyebrow "Why not? He is soooooo into you and you're-"she frowned and looked at her friend, she knew Lily inside out, or well she thought she did but she could see when her friend was struggling. "Are you into him?!" she asked. Lily paused as she buttoned up the side of her skirt, and cleared her throat.
"Honestly I don't know." She admitted, and started to brush her curls out. "A part of me is…and the other part is…thinking it'd be wrong, like so wrong." She said.
Jenna frowned in thought "Just shag his brains out and see how you feel." She grinned,
Lily blinked and decided to leave her hair out, "Did you just say shag?" she snorted,
"What?" Jenna said defensively "that's what you Brits say right?" she asked
Lily scoffed and stepped into her shoes, "I haven't lived there in a long time, but even I know that their lingo has changed." She uttered, just as her cell rang,
"Well that is my cue to go, since I need to find something sexy to wear." She added and showed herself out.
Lily found herself walking up to the Boarding House with Alaric, "So wait there's a high tea party?" the hunter asked.
"Yes." Lily said slightly exasperated "even I know it's a bit lame-"he snorted "ok a lot lame. But Carol insisted on it, a thing to welcome him." she added, the vampire hitched the strap of her bag higher up her shoulder and was about to knock on the door when it was opened.
"Oh-"Lily's eyebrows shot up to her hairline seeing a blond haired woman and Damon making out. Alaric looked away and saw that the vampire was just staring.
"Lily-"
"Am I missing something?" the red head asked, the history teacher nodded.
"He's into her-"he supplied.
Lily shook her head, she connected the dots and could easily see that Damon was using this poor woman as a distraction, from his whole Elena saga….it was a bit pathetic well a lot pathetic. "They look like they're suffocating themselves." She whispered to Alaric, and the pair of teachers rolled their eyes when neither the woman nor Damon made any movements to acknowledge them.
So the red head vampire decided to take matters in her own hands. Lily placed her fingers in her mouth and whistled loudly, causing Damon to push himself away and clutch his ears.
"Oww-"he growled.
"Morning Damon-"Lily said brightly, Alaric shook his head "Aren't you going to introduce us to your friend?" she asked.
But the news-reported beaten the older vampire to it. "Oh I know who you are-"Lily's eyebrows rose to her hairline…she never come across this human before…all she knew was that she was a news-reporter, "the only red head in town….pale….likes heels-and you are so into Damon." she added "You must be Lillian Petrova? Or Peterson I get muddle up-"
"Peterson-"Damon said he was wearing a wicked smirk on his face
"Right well I'm Andie Starr-"she held out her hand, Lily just stared a nudge from Alaric made her shake the human's hand. "And just so you know-"she took a step forward "stay away from my man." She threatened ad with a wave to Alaric she left.
Lily gaped after her, "Your-you compelled her- you arse-"she spat storming into the Boarding House. Damon hastily took several steps back; Alaric slammed the door behind him close.
"It's for fun-"he said.
Lily rolled her emerald green orbs and grabbed the half-full bottle of Bourbon, "She thinks I'm after you-"a scowl appeared on her painted lips "you of all people?" she scoffed.
Damon's jaw dropped "Ok that's a tad bit offensive-just put the bourbon down-"he ordered, Alaric rolled his eyes watching the pair. It was sort of hard to believe that each of them were over a hundred years old since at the moment the hunter felt like the most mature one.
"Ok-"Lily grinned and tossed the Bourbon into the fire-place causing the flames to flare up.
"Shit-"Damon swore…he sort of did ask for that.
Lily dropped down onto the overstuffed couch, Alaric leant behind her "So besides making Lily out to be a stalker to your latest girlfriend why did you call us?" he asked. The red head nodded that was true, she was about to head out and get some groceries for dinner tonight but had to take a detour since Damon called more or less demanding that she and Ric should hurry over.
"Well-"Damon said smugly "John Gilbert gave me this to kill Elijah-"he said, Lily frowned and followed after Alaric as they approached a table, Damon uncovered a piece of cloth revealing a dagger, "said you had to dip the dagger I the remains of an old white oak ash tree that dated back to the Originals." He explained "Is there any truth in that-"he handed it over to Alaric, so the history teacher could get a better look at it.
"You think it's a set up?" Alaric asked, handing the dagger over to Lily, she held it and frowned a sense of deja-vu overcame her as her eyes ran over the intricate designs of the blade….it felt oddly familiar in her hands.
"Could be he's a weasel wouldn't put it past him-"Damon scoffed "Lils fancy handing it over-"he was cut off when Lily slammed him into the opposite wall. She held him by his throat, "Lily what the hell?!" he shouted
Lily scowled a look of seriousness crossed her features "Do not use this dagger to kill Elijah. Don't even think about killing him." she hissed.
"Lily-"Alaric jumped to his feet.
"Why you fancy him or some crazy shit-"Damon snarled, and groaned when she easily lifted him so that his boot clad feet was dangling above the ground.
"You're a moron. This vampire is a thousand years old or have you forgotten that?" Lily canted her head to the side….for some unexplainable reason she felt an ache go through her at the idea of the Original being killed "Katerina obviously has a reason to be terrified of him. I doubt a baby vampire-"
"Hardly a baby-I'm a hundred and-"
"A young inexperience vampire at that, could easily kill an Original" Lily carried on over him "Make a move against him, he'll kill you" she said and dropped him, Damon coughed and rubbed his throat.
Alaric cleared his throat "So…"
"Fine-"Damon pouted, and stood up dusting himself off. He went over to his drinks cabinet; Lily sighed and checked the time. "So Mr Saltzman-Miss Peterson-I prefer Petrova-"she rolled her eyes and leant against the back of the couch "What are you up to today?" he asked.
"Well Jenna and I were supposed to go to her family's lake-house, but for some reason we both got roped in by the historical society-I'm guessing something to do with you-"he glared at Lily, who smirked and shrugged her shoulders.
"Well they needed some people to attend this thing" Lily grinned "plus Jenna pissed me off-she nearly burnt my house down" she added, the strawberry blond haired woman had constantly bragged on about her going on a sexy weekend away.
"Wait that's the one where Elijah is a guest of honour-"Damon started, she nodded checked the time, she made a face
"I should go, have things to do. And Ric try and make sure he doesn't do anything stupid." The red head vampire called over her shoulder as she left the Boarding House.
Lily was just packing the groceries away, and had just put the last of the fruit away when her front door slammed opened, she groaned under her breath when a rather pissed off best friend of hers stalked into the house.
"You are so dead-I was meant to stay twenty minutes top-I got roped into four hours-"Jenna hissed, Lily licked her lips
"I know that-"she said spinning around,
"What?" Jenna asked confused,
"Never-mind so what did I do now?" she asked, the human scoffed and glared at Lily
"Serious? I got a call all of a sudden from Carol Lockwood the she-devil, demanding that I should attend a freaking tea-party. For the whole duration of it-" She scowled.
Lily made a face and plucked a grape from the packet on the counter "Well if she insisted-"she shrugged her shoulders innocently, the juice of the grape exploded in her mouth.
Jenna narrowed her eyes "She only insisted because you put it up to her." she huffed and proceeded to go through Lily's freshly stocked fridge.
The vampire plopped down on the bar-stool that was located in the kitchen, a second later Jenna joined her with a tub of Ben and Jerry's ice cream "Why Lily?" she asked handing over a spoon.
Lily sighed ok….she was annoyed in the morning at her friend but seeing her now she did feel bad.
"Sorry I just didn't want to go this party alone…"Lily mumbled, and dug her spoon into the ice-cream and helped herself
Jenna frowned "You won't be alone-Elijah is there-"she uttered through a mouthful of ice-cream. The vampire rolled her eyes
"No doesn't count, he's the guest of honour and spend his time flirting with Carol Lockwood-that woman-" Jenna guffawed and nearly spat the ice cream out of her mouth "What?" Lily asked spooning another mouthful of ice-cream.
"You're jealous-"Jenna giggled "you're jealous of Elijah and Carol-that they're sitting in a tree- K-I-S-S-"
"Ok how old are you?" Lily huffed before violently shoving her spoon into the tub.
"Old enough to know when you're jealous-"Jenna sang "so that's why you want me to come, to make sure Carol and Elijah aren't sucking faces-"she grinned in triumph, it faltered seeing the stoic look on her best friend's face. "That's not it is it?" she sagged.
Lily giggled and shook her head "No-your ex is going to be there…he's face pisses me off-"she added, Jenna's brows knitted together in confusion
"Who-John can you not call him that?" Jenna hissed and the vampire was amused to see her friend looking around being slightly paranoid.
"Alright and also why would you want to go to a dusty lake-house for a weekend away?" Lily asked airily and stood up.
"It's a place of privacy-"Jenna defended the lake-house. And watched as the shorter woman headed over to the cupboard above microwave, she was curious when she placed a leaflet in front of her.
"The Prairie Hotel?" Jenna asked, that was the nicest hotel within Virginia, hell she always wanted to go there…just trying booking a room was near impossible.
"Yep-that's where your dirty weekend away will be-with Alaric-"Lily winked
"Ok this is way too much I can't-"
"Yes you can-"Lily rolled her eyes, over the years the vampire like most of her kind who were smart enough accumulated wealth. "Consider it an early birthday present." She grinned "just come to the tea-party-"with a squeal Jenna launched herself at the vampire and hugged her hard.
Lily laughed and embraced her, "So I'm guessing you like it?" she asked as Jenna grabbed the leaflet, the strawberry blond haired woman scoffed
"Lils I will be your minion if you wanted me to-"
"Steady on their Jen. So….is that what you're wearing to the Tea Party?" Lily cast critical eye over Jenna's outfit.
Jenna's jaw drop in offence "Why? What's wrong with it?" she demanded to know.
Lily shrugged her shoulders "Nothing-"she drawled grabbing the tub of ice cream and placing it back it in the fridge "It's just that even though we're going to a tea-party….you don't need to dress like a grandma." She smiled pleasantly at Jenna.
"I'm going to raid your closet." She declared and without further ado Jenna sprinted towards the vampire's bedroom.
Lily's eyes widened "No, no-it's organised-"she nearly screeched ad ran after her making sure to keep to the human pace.
Lily smiled at the server and helped herself to a cup of tea, she entered Lockwood manor and saw that there were a fare few people here already.
"For someone who was meant to be early you're late-"Jenna said sliding up to her, Lily rolled her eyes
"Yeah because there was some crazy bint who went rifling through my closet and stole several pieces of items." Lily drawled and took a sip of the offered tea, she scrunched up her nose and spat it back out.
"Oh god Lily don't-"Jenna grimaced when the vampire drowned a potted with the tea. "I think you killed a plant." She stated
"Well it killed my taste-buds. Definitely need to wash that out-oh food-"Lily perked up,
"Why am I not surprised-you're supposed to be introducing your current tenant to the locals-"Jenna said, and trailed after the other woman. The pair weaved their way through the hordes of people till they got to the long table that was pushed back against the wall.
"Why should I?" Lily asked handing a plate over to Jenna who like her loaded it with the little cakes. The red head plucked a cream one and groaned-
"Ok that's the sound women make when they have an orgasm….you're having a food-gasm." Jenna grinned,
"But this is so good-"Lily nearly moaned tasting the lemon zing to the cake, this earned her a matching pair of mortified looks from an elder couple. "Ok-we're out of this area-"Lily grabbed a giggle Jenna's arm and nearly shoved the other woman over.
"Food-gasm-"Lily snorted and took another mouthful…and once again groaned-
"Listen to this and tell me it doesn't sound like you're having an orgasm." Jenna snorted and held up her mobile, she had recorded the vampire. Lily quirked an eyebrow and popped her hip out. Carol had obviously put her classical CD on. Her jaw dropped when she heard the noise
"Shit I need to get laid-"Lily grumbled
"I can help-"
"I'm not borrowing your boyfriend-"the red head teased, making Jenna scowled in annoyance
"No not him-him-"her friend jerked head in Elijah's general direction. She saw that the Original was chatting to Carol, her heightened vampire hearing picked up him talking about the fake book he was writing.
Elijah caught her just as she was rolling her eyes; Lily hastily looked away ignoring the smirk on his face. She could feel her cheeks heating up.
"See you and him are-"
"No-"Lily rolled her eyes and snagged another cup of tea, from a passing tray. She took a sip and hummed
"Lily I think you're having vicarious sex…via food and drinks-"Jenna stated, which in turn cause the vampire to slap her upside the head.
"I am not. We all don't need to have sex to survive-"Lily commented,
"If you want sex red, I am right here-"Damon smirked from behind her, the older vampire cocked an eyebrow and stepped to the side so that she could see his face
Lily's eyes ran up and down his body and she took a step forward, Jenna took a bite out of her small cake it was like watching a show.
"Well…Damon come to think of it-"Lily ran a slim finger down the younger vampire's face, and smiled seductively at him, making sure to lean forward, Damon's eyes automatically dropped to her cleavage. He nearly groaned out loud "I don't think you'll be that durable." She purred into his ear and took a step back.
Damon groaned and kicked the ground, Jenna snorted she would never get tired of watching her friend messing with the arrogant male.
"One day Lily-"Damon vowed,
"Honey a hobo has a better chance." Lily said, quick-witted as ever.
Jenna cleared her throat and handed the red head her half-finished plate of deserts, the vampire didn't waste any time and wolfed it down. The vampire didn't know how she lived without chocolate before…it was her favourite.
"So what are you doing here anyway?" Jenna asked, she couldn't imagine Damon willingly coming to a High-Tea event.
The answer she sought came in the form of Andie Starr "Hey you-"she glared at Lily much to the English teacher's annoyance and sidled up to the raven head vampire.
"Hi-"Damon grinned and leant forward for a kiss. Lily bit down on her bottom lip to stifle her laughter as Jenna's jaw dropped she reached over and tilted Jenna's jaw back up, effectively closing her mouth. "Thanks for introducing us Jenna. Lily wants to introduce me to the guest of honour?" he asked.
"Sure-"Lily nodded "despite you don't even need an intro-"she said it quiet enough so that only Damon heard.
"Oh Lily remember what I said-"Andie called after her, as they turned on their heels.
Damon snorted but schooled his features seeing the glare that the older vampire sent him. "I so want to pull her extensions out." she mumbled
"Girl fight-I love them-"Damon uttered,
Lily snorted and they approached Carol and Elijah, "Ah Lily you've found Damon-what a surprise-"the mayor grinned holding out a hand to the vampire, like the smooth person he was the eldest Salvatore he kissed the woman cheek.
"Elijah, I want you to meet Damon Salvatore-"Lily didn't miss the look the Original shot the youngster "His family is one of the Founding families." Carol explained, and tittered with laughter "Oh Lily sorry, I seem to be doing your job-"
Lily smiled "It's perfectly fine, you're doing a marvellous job." She said, as Damon and Elijah shook hands, both male vampires seem to be having a battle of dominance. Lily cleared her throat
"So Elijah did you get here ok?" the three vampires were playing along.
Elijah's attention switched towards the red head. "I got here perfectly fine Lily." He stepped forward a charming smile on his face "And I didn't even say hello to you." He kissed her on the cheek
"Hi-"Lily breathed….and smiled, Damon's fists clenched seeing how the Original seem to enamour each woman he come across, including the feisty red head. "So fancy some Tea?" she asked gesturing to the table where there were several trays.
"Of course. Excuse us Carol." Elijah nodded towards the mayor. The pair of vampires walked away "So tea-I think you'll prefer this one-"he declared picking up a cup, after his eyes darted over the array of steaming beverages.
"And this is-"Lily took the offered tea, and sipped it. "Mint-my favourite-how did you know that?" she asked looking at him.
Elijah merely smiled, at least over the years some things hadn't changed. "I just do….your turn." He nodded towards the drinks.
Lily chuckled "Are we making some sort of game out of this?" she canted her head to the side, there were a few party goers sauntering about.
"This is a High Tea party Lily-it's not exactly….enticing. We have to create our own entertainment." He replied, both vampires's accents were strong and rather distinct, something which Damon didn't miss, he was watching the pair further behind them.
Lily grinned ad eyed him "Is the great Elijah Smith bored of a tea-party in his honour?" she said, in mock shock.
A smirk played on Elijah's lips "…I've been to better parties." He said, Lily licked her lips
"Same…"her bright green orbs finally landed on a cup of tea, "So why 'Smith'?" she picked up the cup handing it over.
"Because it's so generic." He took a sip, and Lily waited, she could smell the ginger brimming from the cup
"So?"
"Not bad…but I prefer honey. Something sweet is always a treat." Elijah stated, completely un-phased by the glares that Damon, John and Alaric were shooting him.
Lily frowned, it was later on during the tea party she had wondered over to Alaric's side, the red head would have sought out Jenna but the strawberry blond haired woman was nattering with Andie, and the English teacher didn't fancy being glared at by the news-reporter. She was going to make sure that Damon removed that particular thought in Andie's mind.
"Cake-?" Lily offered him the pate,
"Sure-beer?" he held out his bottle, and snorted when the vampire didn't hesitate. "So not a tea fan? Thought you Brits-"
Lily rolled her eyes, as Alaric helped himself to some of the small cakes and yelped when his co-worker slapped his hand away "Why-"
"Not the cream one." She said, and narrowed her eyes seeing Damon ushering Elijah into the mayor's office…what on earth was the young vampire up to? "Anyway not all Brits like tea...Damon is going to do something stupid." She said as the raven head vampire shut the door.
Alaric scoffed "When does he ever not?" he asked looking down at her. Lily hummed "Oh Jen told me about the hotel-you didn't need to-"
A sheepish smile appeared on her face "Yeah I kind of had to-"she uttered, Alaric narrowed his eyes and despite not knowing much about Lily's murky past, he knew her
"What did you do?" he asked.
Lily clutched her heart "I am offended-"
"Lily-"
"I sort of got you and Jen stuck here with John-"she said meekly, and bit her lip when Alaric swore out loud, making some of the elderly ladies who were chatting by them shot them dirty looks.
"Language young man-"a silver haired woman tutted
"Sorry…but my girlfriend here-"Alaric decided to mess with Lily since she managed to piss him off "Is having an affair with our gardener, I walked in on them doing it on the pool table-"
Lily's eyes nearly bugged out of its sockets and she gaped at him "You sinful woman-you poor man-"they cried causing the red head to wince.
"We're trying to work through things its tough-"Alaric shrugged his shoulders and dropped his arm around her shoulders, hugging her to his side "but we'll get there." After the dithery old women moved on, Lily punched the history teacher hard in the arm.
"Can everyone stop insinuating that I'm either a home-wrecker or a slut?" she scowled, Alaric chuckled
"Sorry but you deserved it." he grinned, but the happy mood he was in immediately went downhill when John approached them.
"God…there's not enough beer in the room, to make his company bearable." Lily whispered to Alaric and was about to take a swig of the beer but before she could it was snatched away "Hey-"
"I need it more-"Alaric said,
Lily scrunched up her nose when John came to a stop in front of them. "Ergh you-"she grouched.
"Lovely to see you too Lily." John said, she had the urge to punch his face off "So Lily what is Damon doing with your house-guest?"
Lily cocked an eyebrow and grabbed a small cake from a passing cake "Probably going to get his arse kicked." She said breaking a piece of the cake and popping in it her mouth. John frowned knowing it'd be difficult to get direct answers from the vampire. So he turned to the hunter.
"Do you know?" he asked.
Alaric shot him a glare "How would I know?" he asked.
"Because you're his little helper-"John spat, Lily rolled her eyes, and she honestly didn't understand why John was such a bastard
"If you say so John." Alaric tried to keep his anger at bay.
"Does Jenna know about your extra-curricular activities?" John asked, Lily's eyes snapped up, she could feel Alaric tensing up beside her "Maybe it's time we tell her-"
"It's not our place-"Lily hissed
"-why not? I mean she can't stay in the dark forever-afraid she'll reject you after finding out what you are?" a smug smile appeared on John's face, he could tell that he had hit the nail straight on the head.
Lily took a step forward but the hunter grasped her arm "You're a dick." He snapped
John smirked as he watched the pair, his eyes finally landed on Alaric "I don't think you should stay over anymore, it's inappropriate with children in the house-and that ring that Isobel gave you? That's mine I'm going to want it back."
Alaric nodded a mocking smile on his face, John was about to leave, but Lily's hand snatched his wrist. She could feel the frail bones beneath his skin. John let out a grunt feeling the bruising grip that the vampire had on him.
"Listen here Johnny boy-"Lily snarled, he could visibly see her eyes darkening. Alaric quickly looked around to make sure no one was watching them. "You're a fool to threaten someone who can snap your neck like that-"
Another smug smile appeared on his face but this one far shakier then before "You won't do that-Elena-"
Lily scoffed "You think I care what Elena thinks? Unlike the Salvatore boys I don't cater to her needs…or I can make sure you stick around….more in a permanent way If you get my drift." She flashed her fangs, causing John attempting to take a step back. He knew he was going to get a bruise at the end of this. "So back off." She ordered letting him go. John didn't waste any-time and left.
Alaric looked at her "What?" she asked eating the rest of her cake
"That was stupid but awesome-"Alaric declared, Lily snorted
"He just pisses me off-"Lily said "Oh and Jen is looking for you." she patted him on the back…and wondered over to the door in which both Elijah and Damon disappeared through.
She had just approached the door, when Lily's heightened hearing picked up the sound of grunting. She scowled knowing that Damon obviously said something to piss Elijah off. Lily didn't waste any time and entered the room.
"Elijah-"Lily hissed when she saw the Original slamming the younger vampire was pinned against the wall. She stepped forward; she winced when Elijah easily crushed Damon's hand. She took a hasty step forward but knew that she would be no help to Damon.
"You young vampires-"Elijah snarled "so arrogant. How dare you come in here and challenge me."
"You can't kill me-"Damon groaned "it's not part of the deal-"
Lily bit her bottom lip worriedly "Do you ever shut up Damon? There's worse things than dying-"she willed the raven head to keep quiet.
"Lily is right-"without blinking Elijah picked up a lead pencil and stabbed it into Damon's throat causing the vampire to cry out in pain. Her hand automatically reached out and grasped Elijah's hand, causing the Original to look over to her.
"He learned his lesson Elijah-"Lily uttered, Elijah narrowed his eyes but eventually nodded and took a step back. She slipped her hand from his grasp and Elijah wiped his hand on a handkerchief before handing it over to Lily.
"Be aware Damon I am an Original show a little respect." Elijah said watching as Lily tended to the injure vampire, Damon was leaning over the desk, she quickly pulled the pencil back out causing him to yelp. With some urging Damon straightened up and let the red head clean him up "You're lucky Damon you're on two people's list. Do not mess with me, so just keep an eye on Elena I'll take care of Lily-see you at home. And perhaps you should exit through the back door." He added and smiled at Lily before leaving.
"Really is charming isn't he? I mean after he stabbed you he still got class-"Lily grinned wiping away the blood.
"Yea fan-fucking-tastic." Damon spat looking slightly pale.
Lily made a face, "Come on let's get you home you need some blood-"
"Just give me yours-"Damon said throwing his arm around her shoulders, she slipped hers around his waist.
"Honey no chance in hell I am giving you blood. Blond sharing between vampire is sort of sacred-"Lily shoved opened the door "Hold on-"she grinned, and with a blur they were both off.
Lily was currently at the Boarding House; she had gotten Damon home and given him a blood back which was mixed with his favourite beverage. She had called Alaric to fill him in, and despite what the hunter always says he was friends with Damon, meaning he wanted to check up with him.
The red head vampire was lounging on the couch beside the hunter, whilst Damon was in the armchair thinking.
"Well that was a bust-"Damon frowned,
"Because you got your arse kicked-"Lily drawled with a smug smile on her face, making the younger vampire roll his eyes "I told you not to go against him." she said.
Alaric chuckled "Since when did Damon do anything anyone says?" he clinked his glass against Lily's half-drained one.
"I don't appreciate you book-worms ganging up on me-"Damon mumbled,
Alaric cleared his throat, as Lily finished off her drink; she felt the fiery liquid sliding down her throat, since being informed that an Original could compel other vampires, which in turn caused the resident vampires of Mystic Falls to have small dosages of vervaine. Lily licked her lips
"How's the throat?" Alaric asked.
"Sore-"Damon grumbled, when he and Lily returned to the Boarding House, the red head was forced to pick out shards of wood
Alaric nodded "Yeah Elijah is once scary dude, but with nice hair-"he said raising his glass.
Lily snorted "Aww does the hunter have a man-crush-"she teased and winced when he punched her hard in the arm "Alright dick."
Alaric jumped on to his feet wanted to avoid getting punched pack "Hey you want another one?" he asked the pair.
"No I'm going to leave in a bit-"Lily said she was going to have dinner tonight with Elijah. Damon handed over his empty glass and Alaric went towards the drinks, filling the glasses up.
"He's going to be hard to kill-"Damon commented
"Meaning you're not going to do it-"Lily sniped "no going against him, he's an ally-one of which who would help us when Klaus arrives."
"But we could-"
Lily cocked an eyebrow and canted her head to the side "Alright I have to ask you? Are you stupid?" she said
"What?" Damon scowled, Alaric downed his drink
"When Klaus does arrive what will you do next?" Lily crossed her arms against her chest.
"We can take him down together-there-"Damon started, she shot him an incredulous look
"Ok, your maths sucks. You're under two hundred years old, so is Stefan, I'm around the four hundred mark, and we have Caroline who is a month or two, even combined we'll be no match-"
"We got Bonnie-"he resorted
Lily scoffed "A young inexperienced witch, we are no match. Better to keep Elijah on side." she finished off, Damon slumped in his seat, knowing that Lily was right but he didn't have to like it….he's going to have to come with a back-up plan.
Alaric cleared his throat, Lily leant forward "What's with you and this news-chick?" he asked,
"Yeah and can you un-compel her to think I'm after you?" Lily added,
Damon grinned "Nah, she got spunk huh?" he sat up taking the offered drink, Alaric sat down beside her
"Just don't kill her please." Alaric said,
Lily stretched her arms above her head "If I did who would report her death? Plus it's fun using her to mess with red here." he added, she stuck her tongue out at him.
"Just don't do it-"Alaric said tiredly "she's friends with Jenna and I'm already lying to her about everything else and I hate the lies."
"No kidding." Lily muttered and checked the time "speaking of Jen you should go pick her up if you want to get to the hotel." She said
Alaric nodded "You're right-"he stood up
"Great you can give me a lift home, I don't fancy running." Lily said getting onto her feet, she grabbed Alaric's hand and hauled him onto his feet. "See ya Damon-"she called over her shoulder
"Yeah leave your dirty glasses here-"Damon yelled out.
Lily snorted as she and Alaric walked down the hallway together "So make sure you guys try the hot stone massages-"she uttered
"What's that?" Alaric asked
She rolled her eyes "Of course you wouldn't know-it-"Lily opened the door and didn't get a chance to finish her sentence, as soon as the door swung open she was shot point blank in the head.
"LILY-"Alaric shouted as her body collapsed on the floor, he felt a gut wrenching pain and looked down seeing a blade sticking out of his chest. The last thing Alaric saw was Damon rushing towards them before the world went blank.
Lily winced and gasped when she felt something being stabbed into her side, her hazy eyes fluttered opened,
"Ah morning beautiful you recovered well-"her eyes met a werewolf she assumed, who plucked the half embedded bullet from her temple, there was a groan next to her causing the werewolf to back away.
She blinked several times and her heart jolted seeing Alaric's unseeing eyes gaping at her, she was relieved to see the ring. After another second her senses returned to her, it took her a moment to get her bearings, Lily was on her knees, and her wrists were being held up, she grimaced in pain and looked up seeing ropes which had wooden nails sticking into her wrist, Lily glanced down and saw that it was the same thing around her waist.
"Lily?" Damon groaned she looked to her left and saw Damon who was tied down, a collar spiked device around his throat. "You're older so-"
"Not going to work you-we pumped her with lots and lots of vervaine-"the werewolf grinned, a snarl tore from her lips
"Strength does return and when it does I will rip your heart out-"Lily threatened and yelled put when her wrists were tugged, causing the spikes around her waist to stretch, she looked over her shoulder and saw another werewolf.
"I think you're going to be tied up for a while-"the hat wearing werewolf smirked before turning his attention back to Damon. Lily could feel her blood sliding down her arms. "Well I saw this movie once, some torture porn flick-a girl with red hair was in it as well-"he added,
Lily's fingers twitched in agitation "-anyway that had these devices, one of which was a collar and I modify it some with wooden nails and when I pull-"he did just that causing the nails to sink into Damon's throat, thus making the vampire to cry out.
"So-"Lily looked over and groaned out loud seeing Jules standing there with a rifle "I hear one of you has the moonstone-"
"Dear god is this is what it's about?" Lily was getting seriously tired of seeing the female werewolf's face. But she was cut off when the werewolf behind her pulled the ropes, the red head hissed.
Damon let out a chuckle "Only if you knew the irony-"
Jules and the others edged towards them, "No kidding-"she huffed "you want the moonstone-that's not going to happen-"Lily glowered at them "this is how it's going to work, you're going to torture us-"
"I don't want to be tortured-"Damon muttered
"And we're not going to spill someone is going to get hurt-"Lily ignored him, her eyes dropped down the rifle that was aimed at her.
"Last time it was your boy Mason, ripped his heart out-"the raven head vampire added spitefully, Jules nodded and the vampire snarled when the collar around his neck was tightened.
Lily panted vervaine and vampires do not mix…she could feel the effects wearing off. "Where's the moonstone?" Jules demanded,
"Somewhere you'll never get it-"Lily growled, the female werewolf narrowed her eyes and cocked the gun once again
"You know what the great thing about a buck-shot is? It scatters throughout the body maximum damage-"she aimed the gun again this time at Damon, thinking the younger vampire will be more forthcoming. "Where's the moonstone?"
"Like I said-"Lily murmured wrapping her hand around the rope which was holding her wrist "somewhere you'll never get it-"without further ado, she ripped the ropes from the werewolf who's been holding her grasp and threw it around his neck making him cry out, she ignored the ripping of her skin and choked the werewolf-with enough force to broke his neck. A snarl was heard from the wolves, Lily didn't even stagger to her feet before the rifle was fired, she choked on air and dropped onto her back. Jules shot her…Lily felt as if her insides with ripping her apart
"Stake her-"Jules ordered
"Wait don't-"Damon shouted, his eyes dropped to Lily he saw the large pool of red appearing on her silk top.
"Where's the moonstone?" Jules shouted as one of the werewolves' pulled out a stake, Lily moaned in pain bloody Jules was right her nerves felt frayed. She could feel pain everywhere
"Looking for this-"a familiar voice called out, Lily blinked and her pain filled eyes met with Elijah's whose oak brown orbs visibly darkened in rage. But he forced himself to remain calm; he didn't miss the stake one of the mutt's was holding. He stepped into the room and placed the moonstone on the table-top. "Go ahead take it-"he gestured.
Lily winced she could feel the shards of the bullet pushing themselves out, the vervaine was slowing down the healing process.
One of the werewolves didn't waste any time and sped forward, but Elijah met him before he could even glimpse at the moonstone. He ripped out his heart and proceeded to do the same to two others. Jules was smart enough to run. But the one wearing hat merely pulled his coat over his head hiding himself.
Lily licked her dry lips and saw Elijah toying with the werewolf "What about you sweetheart? Want to take a shot?" he pulled him onto his feet "no? yes? No? Where's the girl-"
"I don't know" Damon replied casually.
Lily managed to sit up "Doesn't matter-"and with a swift punch he broke the werewolf's neck. Elijah knelt down beside Lily seeing t her first "You ok?" he asked, freeing her of the ropes.
"Just need a bit of blood-"Lily winced when he pulled the rope around her waist freeing her. Elijah helped her onto her feet, he easily freed Damon
"You know this is the second time I saved your life?" he smirked, Damon just glared "Well we best be off-"Lily squeaked when Elijah easily lifted her.
"Make sure Ric gets home-"Lily just managed to yell as Elijah blurred out of the room, she instinctively wrapped her arms around his neck.
Lily opened her eyes feeling the seat besides her dipping, she had showered and changed out of her soiled clothes. She glanced over to her left and smiled taking the offered tea from Elijah, the vervaine had been drained out of her system since Jules and the others were adamant about keeping her bleeding and unable to heal.
"You know perhaps Mystic Falls isn't the place for you." The Original commented, causing her to frown.
"What?" she looked at him,
Elijah cocked an eyebrow "You've been caught in the middle of something and hurt on more than one occasion." He explained taking a sip of his wine. "Perhaps its best for you to leave town?"
Lily shook her head "I stuck around here….because I care for people here…you should know being a vampire it's hard to set down roots. So when you get the chance you grab it-"she said.
Elijah nodded he hadn't done that for decades, "I didn't thank you for saving me tonight-"she murmured, the Original let out a breath
"It's hard for me not to save you…"Elijah smiled at her "you want to know me…you don't run in fear…and –"
Lily's brows furrowed "I know you" she said, his eyes met her, she reached up completely forgetting about the cup of tea. She traced his jaw with her fingers "I know you-how-"
Elijah closed his eyes…feeling her soft fingers on his lips "We were lovers long ago-"he grasped her wrist and felt her stiffen "Long, long ago-but I took away your memories-"he revealed, resting his temple against hers,
"Why-?"she asked her eyes full of confusion
"Because you were in danger…and I've been aching to do this-"before she could question what he meant, Elijah leant forward and pressed his lips against hers. He needed to touch her, feel her; the kiss was slow and gentle. Lily swallowed and met his eyes
"Why-what-"
"I and you are wrong Lily…you're not mine. You can't be" Elijah said he took her hands, and inhaled her scent, no trace of vervaine was in her system,
"Why are we wrong? Why can't I be yours?" Lily frowned oblivious to when he discreetly removed her daylight ring.
"You belong to someone else-"Elijah answered cupping her chin
"Who-"
His pupils dilated as did hers "You will forget this conversation. We returned home and decided to watch TV after you thanked me for saving you." Elijah compelled her.
Lily blinked and shook her head "Want to watch TV?" she asked brightly,
"Of course-"he smiled as she settled back down into the sofa. "What's this show?" he asked.
Lily grinned and leant back "Supernatural, it's a good show-you might like it." she said, plus the main characters were easy on the eyes. Lily missed the sad smile on Elijah's face, but he forced it to the back of his mind. The pair of vampires spent the evening in front of the television.
Lily sipped her drink from a glass of wine.
"You sure it's wise to be here?" Caius asked, New Orleans night-life was something completely new in this era, people were a bit more opened.
"Why ever not?" she asked, they were in one of the seedy clubs. Caius frowned seeing a harlot attempting to rub up some rich man
"Because you're a woman and this-"
"I'll compel them to forget them I'm here." Lily responded waving the barman down and ordered another drink getting the warlock one as well.
Caius sighed "Well-I sense another creature of the night here-"he said in hushed tones, Lily smirked and knew what he was talking about
"It's the dark haired one, who has several harlots in his lap?" she questioned, looking towards the dark corner of the room. The place was filled with lecherous men, and several harlots catering to them. Typically this wasn't her scene but Lily didn't want to spend another night indoors.
"That's the one, he's powerful-"Caius whispered
"Meaning I'll stay away from him." Lily smiled "now the real reason you're anxious to meet with your lover." She smirked, Caius chuckled
"Got it, you sure about-"
"Compulsion is a lovely thing" Lily cut him off, "Go have fun Mister Deveraux." She winked and the warlock sprinted off.
It was later in the night…or early morning when Lily left the club, she did what she told Caius she would do and made sure that those who saw her in the bar was compelled.
She walked passed an alleyway and her heightened hearing picked up the sound a moan and a guttural groan, her nostrils flared when she smelt the metallic scent of blood. She inched around the corner and saw that it was the vampire that she and Caius had spotted at the bar.
Lily's emerald green orbs travelled over to the pile of bodies and they widened seeing the state of the dead women. She backed away and was about to blur off when she found herself pinned against the wall.
"Hmm…you know spying is rude." The vampire tutted, he reminded her of someone, with his dark eyes and dark hair. Lily schooled her features
"And you know you're not being discrete about your meals." She countered
The vampire sighed in disappointment, and took a step back "So this is what you've become?"
Lily frowned "Excuse me? Do I know you?" she asked.
"You will…so a tamed vampires huh?" he smirked arrogantly, she rolled her eyes and folded her arms across her chest, the skirt of her dress blew around her ankles.
"I just don't like leaving a trail of bodies. It's-"
"Terrifyingly addictive." He smirked "I believe my stay in New Orleans will be much more fun." He grinned,
Lily scoffed "You sure are egotistical."
The dark haired man smiled "Which vampire isn't darling…I didn't catch your name." he held out his hand
"I didn't give you it." Lily stated…this vampire was rather playful she noted. "I'm not sure if I want to."
"Wound me with words darling-"he dramatically clutched his chest.
Lily shook her head, getting the feeling he wouldn't drop it "Lily is my name-"he took her hand and kissed the back of her knuckles.
"I'm Kol." The Original introduced himself. "It's a pleasure to meet you Lily."
