As promised, a new chapter for you all!

I would love to here your thoughts on this chapter and will work on wrapping up this story as we are now beginning to wind down, well sort of.

Hope you enjoy and tell me what you think!

Everything around Clary was dark, so black that she could barely see her hand in front of her face. She called out Jace's name a few times, but her own voice faded before it could hit the air. She was in a vacuum, alone.

"Clary…" Jonathan's voice called out long and drawn out. "Clary, where are you?"

"No. Stay away!" Clary screamed, when she heard Jace's voice behind her. She whipped around, and instead of the black veil that had been encompassing her vision, it was illuminated by some light source she couldn't see.

"Jace?" No response.

Clary walked around looking for some sort of marking or landmark, but all that she could see was a white tundra. With an exasperated sigh, Clary slumped down on the ground and closed her eyes. I hope Magnus can figure this out, Clary thought to herself.

"I'm going to do what now?" Jace asked Magnus. By now Jem had found the others in the infirmary with Clary, but spent most of the time talking in hushed tones with Tessa. Jace watched them talk, trying his best to ignore Magnus and Alec as they chastised him for not listing the first time.

"Jace, you could at least pretend to care about your girlfriend." Magnus retorted, and that caught Jace's attention. Jace bolted up from the chair and had Magnus by the throat before anyone could stop him.

"Don't ever say that. There is nothing I wouldn't do for Clary." Jace growled through gritted teeth. Jace released Magnus, and saw a grin play at the warlock's lips.

"Now that I have your attention. I need you to try and talk to Clary again, see if you can find out where she is." Magnus directed.

Jace fell back into his chair beside Clary, and carefully slid his hand into Clary's. Her body started to relax, and when he closed his eyes he could hear Clary calling out to him.

"Jace?" Her voice was trembling, and after looking around this blank room, his eyes caught on the red head sitting crosslegged on the floor.

"Clary, I'm here." Jace replied and she turned around. Clary leapt to her feet and caught Jace in a tight embrace, and Jace wrapped his arms around her small frame.

"I was afraid that Jonathan would have found me first." Clary stated just above a whisper. "He has been looking for me, but I don't know how he got in here."

"Where exactly are we?" Jace asked looking around his blank surroundings, and Clary laughed.

"In my head." Clary explained. "It the only place I could think of where it would be the hardest to find me. This whole place is just an empty canvas, so boring and empty, and-"

"So unlike you." Jace finished and Clary nodded her head. "So how do we destroy the rune you made?"

"Thats where things get complicated." Clary replied breaking away from Jace. "See I haven't made that rune yet, but I have been working on it, and I just need to finish it-"

"CLARISSA!?" A deep voice that could only belong to Jonathan called out. "WHERE ARE YOU!?"

"We need to move fast." Jace stated and Clary nodded her head and started working on part of a rune that was already scrawled on the floor, while Jace stood guard. Every now and again, Jace turned and looked at Clary- her eyes pinched tight in concentration- and then sighed wishing there was a faster way to do this.

Suddenly Jace heard Jonathan's footsteps reverberating all around him, a spun around to see him standing only a few meters away. His platinum blond hair slicked back, a great contrast to his black leather jacket and black jeans.

"Jace…" Jonathan mulled over his name. "I would say I'm pleased to see you, but you betrayed me, and I don't take that lightly."

"At least I didn't use a binding spell to get my only 'friend'." Jace spat back, but Jonathan merely rolled his cold black eyes. He looked more like a demon than the last time Jace had seen him, if that was even possible.

"Clary how is that rune coming?" Jace whispered to her, but she didn't respond. Here eyes were still closed, but her hand was slowly drawing a looping pattern above the first half of her rune.

Jonathan lunged forward towards Clary, but Jace met him before he could get to close and tackled him to the ground. Jace threw a punch that landed square on Jonathan's jaw, but he hardly seemed phased. Next Jonathan kicked Jace off of him, and snached Jace's arms.

"Admit it Jace." Jonathan's voice spat like venom. "You will never be as strong as me. I was raised and trained harder than you, and I am stronger than you. You are nothing but a half breed compared to me."

Jace couldn't help but laugh. "Me, The half breed? I think your confused Jonathan." Jace jerked down and bend forward, causing Jonathan to fall over Jace's head, and release his arms. "And don't even think that you are stronger than me. I may not have had Valentine breathing down my neck my whole life, but that doesn't mean that I never stopped training as hard as I could."

Jonathan eyes narrowed on Jace, pure hatred seeming to drip from him face, when Jace Jonathan started to crumble in on himself. Jace turned to Clary, and the rune on the ground in front of her was illuminated.

"Let go Jace." Clary demanded over Jonathan's howls of pain. Jace opened his mouth to protest, but suddenly he opened his eyes and was back in the infirmary, only he was on the ground, still holding onto Clary's hand, and Alec, Izzy, and Magnus were looming over him.

Jace shot up to a sitting position, and immediately regretted it after feeling nauseous wash over him for a few seconds. Never the less, Jace, using Clary's bed as a support, pulled himself back into his chair to the protest of Alec and Isabelle, and watched her intently. After what felt like an eternity ( which in all reality amounted into a minute) Clary sucked in a gasp of air and arched her back up as her eyes open.

"Jonathan...Jace…" Clary managed, but Jace was at her side doing his best to comfort her. Clary finally started to relax and the other left Clary and Jace alone in the infirmary.

"Jace, thank you." Clary stated after everyone had left. "I thought I would be stuck in there if Jonathan had found me first, but...just…"

"Shh...shh...it's all over now." Jace said moving to sit on the side of her bed, then pulled her into a warm embrace. She was glad to have Jace next to her again, his touch so familiar. She was glad the silent brothers had started to suppress the Holy fire running through his veins.

"I just wish this would thing with Jonathan was over so I could stop being paranoid of him finding us and taking over." Clary sighed. "I just want to stay here, just like this and pretend that nothing is wrong. Is that too much to ask for?"

"It shouldn't be, but Jonathan is still out there." Jace reminded her, and she leaned her head on his chest. "But we can stay here, just for a little while."

Clary smiled, and looked up at Jace. His golden eyes looking in to her own emerald green eyes, and before she knew it, Jace was leaning in closer to her. Clary's heart started to race, I will never get used to this, Clary thought to herself, and pressed her lips onto his.

At first it was Jace's lips were a gentle pressure on her own, but the kiss became more desperate. Clary's hands forked through Jace's hair and he cupped Clarry's face, drawing closer to each other. Jace moved on top of Clary and pulled away for air, moving his wad down Clary's neck and to her collar bone. She let out a moan and pulled off Jace's shirt as his own fingers played at the hem of her tank top.

"Jace…" Clary started, but as she looked into his eyes, Clary forgot what she was thinking, and lifted head head up to Jace's, letter her lips graze Jace's before falling back down with a smile playing at her lips.

The doors to the infirmary opened, and Jace pulled away and sighed. Rolling his eyes he turned away from Clary only instead of Isabell or Alec like he expected, it was Jonathan.
