Gaining Trust:

Epilogue

I woke up in the infirmary to find Gary Rodgers applying some sort of cream to the burn on my left arm. He was so surprised to see that I was awake that he almost strangled me. When he finally calmed down, Gary said that Zeus had forgiven me and that he had removed the mark of exile from my forehead. He then told me that it was 10am the next morning after the fight and that Magnar had been checked over for any wounds.

" There won't be any wounds." I told him, " I'm a clean healer."

He didn't believe me, so I had to prove myself, but only once I was ready.

After lunch around the wagons had finished, Tristan showed up in the infirmary. He was just as surprised about me being awake as Gary was, but he kept himself in check. In fact, there was a reason as to why he wasn't strangling me. You see, he had brought in a new friend of his… a certain Miss Jasmyne Belpois, daughter of Aeolus who still happened to be my crush despite what had happened in the time I was away from camp.

Tristan, the champ, had managed to keep his spirits up about my return and tried to tell anyone who would listen that I was a good kid and that I didn't get angry unless there was a reason. He had managed to work some of his magic and managed to convince Jasmyne that I was a cool kid. Turned out she liked boys younger than her. Long story short, by the start of the next year, the two of us (Jasmyne and I, that is) were declared a couple.

When I got out of the infirmary, my welcome home gift came bounding towards me and nearly scared the living daylights out me. Blake Hunter, the wonderful son of Hades, had created a wolf skeleton and brought it to life for me. Even though I was petrified of it and it reminded me a lot of Buddy, I was thankful for the gift. I'm sad to say that the skeleton didn't last long. Mrs O'Leary and Assassin found it and ate it. Blake was upset about it, too, but I told him that he could get me a real pitbull puppy in a couple of years' time to make up for it (and not a skeleton or a zombie). He seemed happy about that.

As for what happened at the cabin area with the eagle, I places Zeus' eagle back on the shoulder of the statue in the Zeus cabin and a flash of light erupted from the bird. At first I thought that I had done something wrong, but I quickly found out that Aetos (that's what I decided to name him) had put up a new layer of protection over Camp Half-Blood as well as remade the dining pavilion. Everyone cheered at that (whether it was for the dining pavilion or the new protection, I'm still not sure) and even Chiron nodded and smiled at me.

I was still welcomed in the Hermes cabin, as I was his grandson, but I made it clear that I didn't want to become counsellor if ever my time came. Chiron and the other campers have respected my wishes so far… save for that April Fool's Day joke that some of the other Hermes campers played on me earlier this month. I'm still planning my payback for that.

Now I am currently in the process of finding Tristan a girlfriend. So far, it's proving difficult. You see, about three months after Jasmyne and I got together, a new camper showed up. A daughter of Erebos, to be precise. Her name is Echo Granger and she seems really interested in Tristan. The funny thing is Tristan claims he's not in love with her but I know that he is.

He's sitting next to me now, making sure that what I write in Ancient Greek gets translated into English with his 'magic ink' that he invented (read = he's making sure that everything is perfect and that we don't use too much Athena stationary than we need. We were allowed in the cabin because they have all the stationary), and he's denying every word about this. You should hear him. I swear he's about to blow up like a puffer fish.

Now he's up and pacing around the cabin, throwing his arms around and swearing to his heart's content about not liking Echo. Oh, did I mention that his whole head is pink? And now he's in trouble. Echo and Jasmyne just walked in with the Erebos twins, Talos and Fabian. I'll leave you to figure out what's happening while I continue on with my story.

Anyways…

It's been nearly two years since Aetos was returned to his rightful place on Zeus' shoulder. Tristan and I are both fourteen, but this time next week I'll be fifteen. During free time, I usually go and visit Aetos in the Zeus cabin because I know Van (Blake's oldest brother) is spending his time with the others. That's when I tell Aetos every bit of progress on my training. Sometimes he replies, but most of the time he's just another part of the statue. Chiron has me doing things with my time powers that not even I can understand, but he tells me it will help. He's my personal trainer on that sort of thing. And, true to my word, I use my powers to help people and not harm them. Though sometimes in Capture-

CRASH! BAM! Hey, I'm writing here!

Oh gods, I better go do something about the mess that my friends are making in the Athena cabin or else their head counsellor is going to have my head.

This is Jaden L. Castellan signing off.

Until next time, folks.

Tristan, will you stop throwing books at the girls! That will just make them angrier!
