Now I shall address a few complaints that I have had before I begin.
1. After the Tengu thing your probably expecting more of that stuff, you'll see it but the Chunin Exam had a lot of important things that I feel I can already use. Like the scene where Sakura is assaulted by the Sound Genin, this will be the chance to show off how I changed her as a character. As for a Kami battle, well the training with Jiraya seems like a good set up for something.
2. Kiba refers to himself as a dog shaman in the latest movie. Is it wrong...probably but in my mind it was the path less traveled as an explanation and I took it.
3. Sharing mantra was a stupid Idea I know, but Sasuke needs to defect its a major driving point for the series And if Naruto comes in with unmatchable god powers it won't happen. That's all that it is, is a set up for the valley of the end so excuse me for trying to make sasuke's rise in power not about selling his soul or whatever.
4 Did no one notice that I explained how Anko's coat always covers her nipples despite it being open to the breeze?
5. People are wondering what's going on with Ameterasu, well in myth she's is depicted as being shy and timid retreating into a cave when ridiculed. I figured that this would be a bit of a joke among the kami, one that she doesn't like, and when she's suddenly insulted by a mortal. Well, hello centuries of pent up aggression.
6. Shouldn't the forest of death have a Kami too? Yes and its not over yet is it. Just because I know that some famous people live in Hollywood doesn't mean that I'll see them as soon as I set foot in town.
Chapter 11: Orochimaru and his minions are Jerks
Naruto was sailing through the Canopy, not screaming, when he slammed into the tree and shattered a good part of the wood, getting a number of splinters into his back. He was not screaming because of the giant snake right in front of him, and he certainly wasn't screaming when the snake ate him. He was Shouting, manly fearless shouting. Of course no amount of manly fearless shouting was going to help him now, because he was inside a snake. Approximately he was in the snakes esophagus, because he was sure he had yet to drop into any sort of stomach. Wait… do snakes have stomachs? Well at least he wasn't in the intestines or anything. That would have been bad.
"Fuck, Fuck, Fuck, FUUUUUCCCCKKKKKKK" Naruto shouted as he struggled to move his arms inside the snakes constricting digestive system. He knew that if he could get his hands together then he could use a jutsu to get out of here, the only question was what jutsu to use.
Kage bushin seemed best, considering it was the only jutsu he knew that had any chance of getting him out of here. It was also the only jutsu he knew outside the academy three so, winner found. Gathering his chakra Naruto brought his hands together into the ram seal and created as many clones as he possibly could.
Meanwhile the giant snake had just curled itself around a tree and was about to take a nap and wait to be dismissed so he didn't have to go straight home. As he tried to relax he noticed a bit of indigestion, before exploding from spontaneous over indulgence. Snake guts dripped from the trees as snake gunk (A byproduct of snake explosions) covered the forest floor and the poor Naruto, who simply lay on the ground coughing.
"Naruto, Naruto you have to wake up" A voice called out to him, it was Konoha.
"Konoha…what are you doing in the forest of death" Naruto hazily said as he struggled to get to his feet, the copious amount of snake guts he swallowed when the summon exploded making him incredibly nauseous.
"I'm not there you moron I'm talking to you through the trees…AND STOP THROWING UP ON ME" Konoha screamed, her voice echoing from every tree, including the one Naruto had just thrown up on.
"Sorry" Naruto mumbled as he stumbled into a different tree and slumped down while trying to regain his breath while he delighted in the fresh non-methane soaked air.
"Now listen carefully, there's a really dark presence somewhere in that forest at first I thought it was just the numerous Ninja in the area but it was connected to that snake and is still nearby, You need to do something the darkness is poisoning the forest" Konoha warned , only confusing Naruto some more.
"What the hell does that mean?" Nartuo grumbled as he moved to leave the snke gut clearing.
"IT MEANS SOME SHIT IS GOING DOWN, GET TO YOUR TEAM NOW" Konoha shouted through the trees, making naruto's head ache.
"Alright I'm going" Naruto shouted back "Crazy bitch".
Amatsu Mikaboshi
Sasuke was absolutely terrified of the man woman thing standing in front of him. At one point he had become so terrified that he had actually envisioned himself being run through the head with a knife. It was so potent in fact that his head was actually sore at the point where the imaginary blade had entered and exited his skull. Why the hell was it that he was so susceptible to killing intent? Sakura didn't seem to be faring poorly, though she was awfully sweaty and focused, like she was willing herself thought the killing intent.
Even so they were just barely managing to hide from this predator that seemed so keen on killing them. Sakura also wouldn't stop licking his hand which he held over her mouth to keep her from screaming. Say what you will about Sakura's improvements but she was still jumpy. "GAH" and also a biter.
" Look out" Sakura shouted as she whipped her arm out and knocked a snake off the branch it hung from allowing Sasuke to leap away.
"HOW DID I NOT SENSE THAT" Sasuke growled as his frustration over the situation skyrocketed.
"Tsk tsk, You should stay on yours toes" The serpentine voice called out again, forcing Sasuke into a cold sweat as he realized that the foe was behind him "It makes things interesting for the predator" the foe quipped forcing Sasuke to leap away only to be open for a forward strike.
"OH shit" Sasuke mumbled as he saw the snake man advance, rather unnecessarily by coiling around the tree branch quickly.
The sound of metal clunking into the wood though was his saving grace. "Thank Inari" Sasuke groaned as he turned up and saw the one person who could have made this situation both better and worse. "NARUTO".
"Hey Sasuke" Naruto said as he gave a smug look and quipped "I'm sorry that I don't remember the password, which is a lie cause I really don't care".
"No time for jokes Naruto, get Sakura and get out of here" Sasuke shouted as he stepped back.
Naruto's gaze just steeled in response "Not gonna happen Sasuke, we have to get him to back off even if we appease him with the scroll or split up all it would do is toss aside any possible advantage we might have… He claimed to be a predator and you don't haggle with a predator" Naruto said as he leapt down to Sasuke's side as the duo continued their stare off with the snake man.
The snake man just stood there silently, his gaze judging them before he burst out laughing "I always enjoy it when my prey knows their being toyed with, its worth the laugh when they think they can escape" He spoke as he slashed his finder and began running a streak of blood down his arm over a strange and intricate tattoo that was coiled around his wrist "Watch carefully children, this move is something only ninja of only the highest caliber can do".
A twister began to form around the man as the dust was kicked up obscuring him from view. Sasuke and Naruto leapt back to Sakura's side as she kept shaking. "This guy is out of our league…" She mumbled, " I don't think he's part of the test either".
"Kuchiyose no Jusu" The snake man chuckled as the twister grew more intense "Or more commonly known as the Ninja Art of Summoning"The twister suddenly dismissed with a large crash, revealing a massive serpent standing under the snake like man.
Sasuke leapt back in fear, but after being recently eaten by a snake Naruto was paralyzed by the uncomfortable memories. The massive snake slammed its tail down on the branch launching the young sage's body into the air. Snake-man only chuckled before waving his arm out and telling the snake to eat the boy. It tried with no success.
As the snake's jaw drew close Naruto's body started glowing with its unearthly orange aura. Naruto's hair turned red and his eye's turned purple, the solar symbol on his chest burst once more and became the tapestry of markings that announced his power. Then with a roar and a haymaker the snake was out cold. The snake-man could feel the power the boy was releasing and was greatly confused " This is the Jinchuriki…but what is this power?" he mused as he let out another attack to try and blow the brat away and out of his hair. This too failed, as while it managed to put some distance between the two combatants a sudden whip of the boys arm caused the plume of wind to suddenly split around him."I best nip this in the bud before he become a real problem for me" The snake mused casually before his tongue lashed out and wrapped around the boys neck.
He smirked as the boy struggled and tried to pry the tongue off only to have his arms bound as well. "It's Always more fun when they struggle.." he laughed before looking the boy in the eye to meet the defiant glare. "Pray tell what did you think was going to happen young man" The snake man said as he moved the boys top out of the way, revealing his stomach and tapestry of markings " I'm in a class of my own, a level of power shared by only two others and I surpassed both of them long ago, even with this power you could not even hope to defeat me at your current level, especially when I do this FIVE PRONG SEAL" with a hard strike to Naruto's stomach the power that encompassed Naruto faded. With a laugh Naruto was tossed away like a ragdoll as the boys features returned to their previous blonde and blue eyed state.
Luckily Sakura was still coherent enough to be able to save Naruto by pinning him to the tree with a well placed kunai. He wouldn't last long like that though so they would have to act fast. "You have to do something Sasuke" Sakura shouted "Naruto just put everything on the line and it wasn't enough, but he's right we aren't going to make it out alive BUT I REFUSE TO GO DOWN WITHOUT A FIGHT" she shouted, as Sasuke shaked, her little speech rousing him from his shell shock.
"Your right" Sasuke growled as his eye's blared to life with the sharingan, and in a quick motion he pulled out a shuriken and several kunai and began his assault. Effortlessly the snake man weaved through each of the knives and had the audacity to stay still when he launched his final attack. That was his down fall. When the snake stopped the wire caught him and tightened binding his arms to his sides. Sasuke smirked "Okay you bastard, try this one KATON: Ryuka no Jutsu" the flame traveled down the wire quickly, and while not as grand as the Gokakyu no Jutsu, with its massive fire ball, the flames of this technique burned hotter with less chakra because of it's method of delivery.
The flame struck the snake head one and spread, a scream was heard comforting the two conscious members of team seven before the chuckling began. "To think" the snake man's voice called out" that one such as yourself has mastered such a technique" With the smoke gone Sasuke and Sakura saw pieces of the man's face peeling off to reveal another even more serpentine face underneath it "Truly a worthy successor to the Uchiha Clan, seeing all those tricks well it makes it all the more clear to me that you really are HIS brother afterall."
At the mention of his Brother Sasuke grew angry, aloowing the rage that he kept down inside to take over" WHO ARE YOU? WHAT DO YOU KNOW OF ITACHI".
The snake chuckled at the demand " I am Orochimaru the great snake of the Sannin, and I do hope that you pass this exam as quickly as possible" the snake continued to chuckle "And if you ever want to be considered worthy of approaching me again then you must defeat the three oto-nin that answer to me".
Sakura seemed to snap as well "WHAT MAKES YOU THINK WE EVER WANT TO SEE YOU AGAIN I WISH YOU WOULD JUST GO AWAY" She shouted, letting her fear control her no longer trying to maintain a cool head and just wanting to live.
Another chuckle followed "Wishing won't send me away…" Orochimaru said before his neck suddenly shot out and extended with his mouth baring a set of snake fangs, aiming right for Sasuke's neck.
Reflexes took over and Sasuke caught the bite with his arm "HAH, so much for trying to rip my throat out, what was that about being the Great Snake?" Sasuke gloated to the head of Orochimaru that currently had his fangs in Sasuke's arm.
The Snake man Orochimaru though did look a tad embarrassed "Well actually I was just trying to place this curse seal on your neck….all I needed to do was bite you and it doesn't matter where so really I still win" the man quipped before retracting his neck " I look forward to seeing you again Sasuke" and with that Orochimaru disappeared leaving Sasuke staring at his arm as three little markings appeared on his arm where the man had bit him.
"Well shit" Sasuke mumbled before his body exploded with pain, both from the drain and from the mark on his arm.
Sakura was then left all alone, with two injured team mates, the weakest link in team seven (though far from useless) and no idea what to do. "GAHH why the fuck is this happening…It was supposed to be so simple but no we have to face down a freaking SANNIN".
Amatsu-Mikaboshi
It had been at least Twenty four hours since the battle with Orochimaru and it is well into day two of the Exam. Team 8 and the Sand Siblings have both advanced into the next portion of the exam, now all that was left to do is wait for everyone else to finish. Sakura however, wasn't going to finish by the end of the day as team seven had been incapacitated by Orochimaru of the Sannin, who should really start picking on people his own size.
Sakura simply stared at her two wards as she changed the bandages and the cloths on their heads in an effort to keep the two healthy. Unfortunately this left Sakura with no one to talk to out in the woods with nothing to do but wait. "Gah….I am So bored…." Sakura mumbled as she pawed through her little book of miscellaneous knowledge that she always kept on her "I already know everything by heart in this things and I already compared the guys junk to see which is bigger…best to not let them know I did that last thing I need them arguing about is dick size "She went on staring out into the clearing from her post underneath a tree that was serving as camp for team seven.
As she mused on about the various things she had already done to ward off boredom she heard a rustle from behind her. Moving quickly she saw a squirrel, the cutest squirrel in the whole world ( not that she k new many squirrel's but the lack of sleep was making her a bit delirious) sneaking up behind her. "Stupid thing" she mumbled keeping an eye on the rodent before it dashed forward. Her glare instantly hardened and the squirrel stopped.
The poor thing was frozen like a deer in the head lights, its heart struggled to move. The rodent broke the gaze and began running away as Sakura smirked "Piercing Stare of the Wise" She snorted before turning back to her charges "Now if only getting you two to wake up was that easy".
The silence passed for a few more minutes before another rustling alerted Sakura to a presence. "I swear to Susanoo that if its that damn squirrel again…." And with a turn her world collapsed a little.
Three ninja all bearing the emblem of Oto were perched across the clearing from her, sitting and waiting for her top say something. "You've been up for quite a while haven't you…good now why don't you wake Sasuke up and we'll just handle things while you get a little beauty sleep" The one in the bandages taunted.
"Oh, I was wondering if I would see you punks..." Sakura drawled out, as if she had been expecting them "You guys seem like the type to try and pick off teams like vultures" She mumbled tiredly as she suppressed a yawn.
The boy with the spikey hair then got angry "Why you little bitch I ought to" he raised his arm and almost stepped forward only to be stopped by the guy in bandages.
"Wait Zaku, can't you see it the way the grass abruptly ends at the midpoint in the clearings and just suddenly gets all spotty, it's not natural" The bandaged man said as he began to walk across the fields only to start screaming when a spike suddenly shoot through his foot. "GAH WHAT THE FUCK, THERE COULDN"T BE ANY TRAPS HERE THE GROUND ISN"T EVEN DISTURBED". The mummy tried leaning down only for a spike to pierce the unarmored hand and to clip his leg.
"DOSU, what the hell did you do" The girl shouted looking to Sakura in contempt as the world began to distort and fade.
Sakura smirked "You like, I call it the Mosaic world, a little genjutsu that allows me to play around with the surroundings in your mind, nothing in this clearing right now is where you thinks it is" she huffed as she watched the sound ninja scream as he tried to leap back and rejoin his team. She giggled as they observed the scene no doubt now frightened as they realized that the ground below them wasn't safe. She had to suppress the laugh when they took to the air declaring that an area genjutsu lost its effectiveness in the air "Oh so true but my Mosaic world is more than just an area genjutsu" As she plucked a rope besides her sending a log flying at the Enemy from the side.
The Sound ninja, however, took it in stride by blowing up the log, only to receive another swinging forward. Sakura's smirk never left her face as she watched the ninja crash to the ground and set off more spikes. Sakura just laughed as the Sound ninja struggled to cross her field of traps and failed miserably. The Sound ninja took this blow to their pride and matched it "Some Ninja you are" Kin scoffed "Hiding behind these useless traps of yours, I bet that's all your good at".
It did not have the anticipated effect. Sakura's Laughter stopped as her gaze turned cold and her grin sadistic " I'll admit I'm not that great a ninja, but you don't know a thing about me and what you thought you knew is probably false seeing as how you've triggered all my traps without even trying and you still have no idea what the ground beneath your feet really looks like " Sakura gaze meet the Sound Kunoichi in the eye " As of right now I'm an unknown variable and I have two more unknown variables behind me, So right now you have a choice…Run away or face me, sure you might pull out a win but if you do you'll be worse for wear and risk being around when the two super ninja right here wake up" Sakura motioned to Naruto and Sasuke both still asleep "Of course that could take a while and you won't know how long we could fight there are so many variables unknown to you here that I know and let me tell you …The odds aren't in your favor" Sakura finished her voice cold and uncaring that her opponent looked like she might wet herself.
The girl looked panicked and turned to her leader" We should go Dosu , come back later" She suggested as she took a few steps back "She has the field advantage and can apparently move things around at will we can't win like this" she explained only to be meat with a harsh back hand by the mummified leader Dosu.
"Shut up Kin" he growled" all we need to do is even the variables…right Zaku" he looked to his left to see his friend already to go.
"Way ahead of you" Zaku sneered as he pumped sound waves into the ground destroying the genjutsu and the traps that covered the floor allowing dosu to run forward, his arm prepared to launch another sonic punch.
"What was that about unknown variables?" Dosu taunted as he neared the tree, only to see the girls smirk before his face was plowed into the ground.
"Variable number 1 One: Spectator interference" she mused as she greeted Lee "Nice of you to finally join us Lee" She said calmly as she simply leaned back and yawned, her exhaustion evident.
Lee cold only look bashful "Yes I'm sorry I didn't act sooner but your show of intelligence was astounding and fairly attractive, I couldn't help but watch" He admitted rather loudly making Sakura blush.
"Oh you cad" Sakura said before turning to some nearby bushes "Come out Ino, I know you and your team are watching this".
Embarrassed team 10 exited their hiding spot and took position in front of Sakura "So need any help? " Ino offered begrudgingly as she tried to appear as if she was there for a reason.
Sakura stood up from her spot on the ground and walked in front of the four gathered there "Yes can you four be a dear and guard my team, I have to teach these fools Why you don't mess with Sakura the Scholar".
Without missing a beat Sakura took a few steps forward and settled into her fighting stance "You see while I may not be physically strong, I have trained my mind to operate on a level that far surpasses anything you chumps could muster, I'm going to call it now actually" Sakura mused as she moved toward the Sound Genin.
"Checkmate in 10 Moves"
