Alright Ladies and Gents. Here you go, sorry for the long wait.

Jo ran as fast as her legs would carry her back to the canyon, Riddick was amazed that he was the one having to keep up. She skidded to a halt in front of the little cavern they had left the others in. Her feet slipped over and over in the dirt as she tried to push the massive skull aside. Riddick finally came up and with one big push the cave was open. Jo peered inside and saw Jack's wide smile.

"I never doubted you for a second"

"C'mon kid we gotta run, the rest of you ready?"

Caroline crawled out behind Jack and then Imam came out, he looked straight into Riddicks goggles already guessing as to the showdown that happened at the skiff and gave Riddick a small smirk. Everyone grabbed the extra light Jo had brought and made a run for it. The creatures were still swooping down on them and killing each other to try and slow the group down. They came to a hill at the mouth of the canyon with the rain coming down it was slick and difficult to climb. Everyone had to crawl on hands and knees to make it up. Four creatures landed right on the fringe of the light.

Riddick began pushing everybody over the crest of the hill; he shoved Jo hard down the other side.

"Keep going you know the way, GO!"

Jo grabbed Jacks hand and pulled her along, with Imam and Carolyn following close behind. They rounded the corner of one of the buildings when Jo saw the flash of a tail fly up just in front of her face. She skidded to a halt but in doing so twisted her left ankle sharply, Jo collapsed into the dirt then tried to stand back up struggling under her own weight. Carolyn and Imam both grabbed an arm and hefted it over their shoulders holding their lights out to the side. After a few more yards the skiff was in view. They dropped Jo onto the hatch door and Carolyn ushered everyone inside.

Jo spun around to sit facing out expecting to see Riddick just coming around. "Where is he? Where's Riddick? I thought he was just behind us?" Jo tried once again to stand but fell, Imam reached out to keep her sitting.

"I'm sure he is on his way, give it a moment"

Panic was rising in Jo's chest and she could see how eager the others were to get off this planet. She didn't care though she would sit on that hatchway til every light in the ship burnt out before she'd leave Riddick here. After a few more heart wrenching moments they all heard a sound that made Jo's blood run cold. She heard Riddick yell like she'd never heard him do before. She struggled to her feet and had nearly hobbled back into the rain when Carolyn pulled on her shoulder and ran off into the direction of the cry. Imam held both Jo and Jack back as they strained to see Carolyn run out of sight.

"Please let me go Imam" She pulled against him as hard as she could but only had one good foot as leverage.

"You will do him no good if you go out there, you will only get the both of you killed. You must wait, you have to wait here"

Jo collapsed once again and began crying, she didn't think she'd ever cried more in her life than this night. She cried and she waited.

...

Riddick was caught between a rock and a hard place, but both those things happened to be two, very large and sharp toothed, monsters. He thought he had gotten away when he had used the blind spot right in front of the one creature to fool it. Then the other had landed right behind him and he had no where on either side to go. The one at his back lashed out clawing into his shoulders, he turned and cut at its claws and then into its face when it came in to bite. The blow must have discouraged it because it retreated, but the other attacked just as quickly giving Riddick a nasty gash to his shin causing him to slip to one knee in the dirt, he cut out digging his shiv into the creatures eye stalks, then grabbing hold til it snapped. He pushed his shiv up and under cutting just beneath the creature's massive jaw. The creature cried out and so did Riddick both struggling to take down the other, finally the creature had lost so much blood it fell over to one side and shuddered one final time. Riddick knew he had to move, he was losing blood and was becoming delirious in the freezing rain. He grabbed onto everything he could pulling himself toward the skiff. He had one thought on his mind, Jo, he had to get back to her he'd meant it when he said he loved her and he wasn't going to go out like this. Another sound caught his attention and he lashed out at it til he realized it was human and carrying light. It was Carolyn, where was Jo his mind thought hazily either way he accepted when Carolyn pulled him to his feet. He tried not to lay all his weight on her but he could barely find the strength in his legs to stand. She yelled at him to get up and keep moving, so he did with her half dragging him back to the skiff. The noises of the creatures were closing in around them, suddenly he felt Carolyn go stiff and smelled the copper scent of blood, one second felt like an hour as he tried to hold onto to her but it was no use as the creature pulled her out of his grasp and into the black. For a very long time now Riddick hadn't been one for emotion, especially caring but he felt guilt now. Carolyn had been decent enough and hadn't deserved to go out like this. Riddick didn't dwell on it long though, seeing the light from the skiff spilling around the side of a building. He rounded the corner crawling on hands and knees to the light and to Jo. He saw Imam run out to him and pull him to door where Jo grabbed his shoulders and pulled him into her lap, she grabbed the first aid kit and attempted to stop the bleeding. Imam looked back out into the darkness.

"Carolyn, did she find you did she make it?"

Riddick shook his head "No, they grabbed her" He managed to cough out.

Imam could tell that the pain on Riddick's face was not just from his injuries, so he offered up a prayer and pulled everyone inside and shut the door without another word.

Jo laid Riddick on one of the small cots attached to the wall and went over all his cuts, fortunately after some cleaning and sealant on some the bleeding stopped and Riddick's breath returned to normal. She was knelt down beside the cot and leaned over and stared into Riddicks eyes. She sniffed and tried to hold back the tears in her eyes blinking them away. Riddick reached out his hand and laid it on her cheek, caressing her temple with his thumb.

"I thought you might be dead" She ran her hand over his shaved head.

"Never, I had to get back to you. I promised I'd keep you safe and I will"

"I know you will" She leaned forward and they shared a tender kiss. "I love you"

"I love you too" Riddick sat up and used his good leg to hop to the captain's chair. "Now lets get off this rock"

Jo, Jack, and Imam strapped in. Jo let Jack take the seat next to Riddick, since one she knew Jack wanted to see their takeoff and two it meant she didn't have to go so far on her bum ankle. She settled in expecting to feel the pull of the ship as it accelerated but then all the lights cut out and the engines stopped. She looked up at Riddick and didn't see him hurrying to fix anything then Jack voiced her same thoughts

"Riddick what are you doing?"

"We can't leave without saying goodbye"

They could hear the click of the creatures on top of the skiff, and then Riddick punched on the engines and the skiff roared to life taking off into space. Creatures skidded across the front panel left and right til finally they were out of the atmosphere and off that god forsaken rock. Jo reached over and squeezed the Imam's hand before passing out into sleep.

Hoped you like it!
