"Empty Pie Tins In The Trash Can"
I was looking forward to having some leftover pumpkin pie on Black Friday, but do I get any? No, of course not. I assure you, this was a truly depressing moment.

There's a grief that can't be spoken
There's a pain goes on and on
Empty pie tins in the trash can
Where I can no longer eat it

Oh, here it was, just yesterday
Sitting on our thanksgiving table
Here we basked in it's orange glory
But its glow has left us hungry

From that plate in the dishwasher,
We could see more pie being eaten!
And we rose with stomachs stuffed full,
And I can see it now...the very pie that fed us all,
Became our last for a while
On this lonely Black Friday curse at evening

Oh my pie, my pie, forgive me
That I'm here and you're all gone
There's a grief that can't be spoken
There's a pain goes on and on

Phantom Cool Whip in the 'frigerator
Phantom buttery crust delighting out taste buds
Empty pie tins in the trash can
Where I can no longer eat it

Oh my pie, my pie!
Don't ask me
What the absence of your goodness was for
Empty pie tins in the trash can
Where I can no longer eat it
