I will replace the correction when it comes. Other than that, I hope all of you look forward to read this today :)
Enjoy~
Dani stood up and pulled me up along the way. She has almost gotten to my height, but she's exactly the same height as Jazz right now. I had a feeling she's still growing until we're the exact height. We sat down at the exactly the same time and he was watching both of us.
"Dani, this is Dick. Dick, this is Dani. She's a clone of me." I explained.
The teenager girl looked at me, "He knows?"
"The secret? Yes."
She smirked, "Where have you been hiding him?"
I chuckled, "Actually, I was hiding with Jazz."
Her eyebrow rose, "Is it because the explosion?"
I nodded, "Yes, but to avoid that as well."
She hummed, "Gotcha. So where have you been hiding? I came here two months after it and ended up attending to high school under Val's request. It was a year deal, though." She shrugged, "It's not always fun with school, but Val tends to keep me on my toe on our ghost fighting practices."
Dani and I chat so much alike of ourselves to catch up, but we understood exactly everything. Then, I had to realize Dick wasn't into our conversation.
"Clone as in your twin?" He brought out his Robin side, which never failed.
My head shook, "Nope, clone as in cloning. This is one of the reasons why I don't trust Vlad easily. He created her," My thumb pointed at her.
His sunglasses almost slid a bit, "You will have to explain how did he…?" His hand gestured between us.
Dani shrugged, "He made me out of ectoplasmic DNA, his DNA hair in both form, DNA coding, memory access through hair DNA, and behavior studying." She knew this all by heart, "He wanted Danny as a son, but it didn't work out well with the few other clones. The other clones didn't have the brain like I do. I'm the twelfth clones, but the only clone still alive."
Dick nodded slowly, "Are you almost exactly like him as in…?"
"I'm a halfa too. I was supposed to be a boy, but it never did end up happening. I'm sort of glad. By the way, where is the fruitloop?" She turned to me.
I chuckled and snorted, "You will never believe me what I'm about to tell you."
She smirked, "Try me."
"He's been dating my sister and proposed to her."
Her jaw dropped, "No way, he's moving on finally?"
"Yup."
She chuckled, "Wow, is he serious about her? I mean, having a mate for the eternity is something you can never go back on or change once the heat kicks in."
My head jerked at her, "You knew about that?"
Dick was watching us having a conversation, he seems to be having a great kick out of this big time, and that was a good sign to expect for the date for him. Dani knew about the heat leads to mating for infinity? Damn, I had to be an idiot not knowing all of this stuff before.
"When you spend a lot of time in the ghost zone, especially with Youngblood, you learn a lot. Youngblood wanted me to be his', but I told him I don't personally feel attracted him." She explained, "At least he's maturing finally. He's officially aging to thirteen by the way."
I groaned, "That doesn't make it any better, Dani. If he's stubborn as a kid, he's going to be even more stubborn as a teenager. Four years it took him to be mature? What's your secret?" I leaned closely to her.
"Me!" She laughed shortly, "He likes girls better, even mentions he missed fights with Sam. I think he's seeking for a mate too."
"Who's Youngblood?" My mate interfered.
My attention turned to him, "A bratty ghost kid who wants nothing but attention and some fun. In order to see him is to act like your age basically, or act like a kid."
"Now is act like a teenager," Dani added in.
I groaned, "Come on! I'm almost done being nineteen!"
She patted my back, "Don't worry, I'll handle him. So, tell me why he knows our secret?"
Dick was amused and leaned back in his chair, "I'm his mate."
Dani didn't expect this outturn, but neither did I. If I had known what went on that night, all I would be doing is putting him in his room and I'd fight with his team for those missions. Then again, it will be happening soon for him to be expecting.
"Oh, so he's pregnant?"
"Was…miscarriage accident. We're trying another shot on getting him pregnant."
She frowned, "I'm sorry to hear that. It's not very unheard of. If I were you, Danny, keep him quiet from the ghost zone. Rumors have it that some powerful ghosts are very keen on having you as their mate."
Dick jerked his head, "What? They can't do that, can they?"
She picked up a straw's paper and started bending them a bit, "Er, they sort of can. I mean, they can claim him, he can still have you, and it's mainly gaining access to power. Luckily, Pariah Dark is remained to sleep forever because he's serious about powerful mate and he would have dominated over you easily." She shrugged, "But, the ghosts Danny has faced are aware of how capable of his strengths are and wishing to test that out on him to see if they can show domineering. If he cannot break their domineering, then they have every right to have him as a mate. They're willing to allow him to have his own mate as long they gain his powers."
Why couldn't I just die instead of the people I lost? Oh, right, I'm immortal as much as fruitloop is. Dick didn't seem to be comfortable with the idea on someone else controlling me for power and hell, which would be chaotic!
"If I can defeat them once, I can defeat them several times. So, you know me, I'm not worried…unless it's Clocky, then I'm doomed." I shrugged, "But I don't think he cares for me as a mate, but if he does, he better stay in one age for me to handle." I pointed out, "Then again, he'd know already."
My mate tilted his head, "Whose Clocky?"
"Clockwork, actually, but he's the Master of Time. He literally knows everything in timely matters, but it is his responsibility to keep the timeline in places and prevent the end of the world scenario. It's a very rare interacting with him unless you live outside of the time like me."
"Or if you're a clone of Danny, then you're more exceptional." Dani pointed out as she dissolved the paper in ectoplasm.
I don't think this is how I want the date to be included with my clone, but at least he's meeting up with a couple of people I know of. I trusted Valerie and Dani to meet my mate anyway, but Valerie barely knows the truth alone. I noticed some former jocks walking by and-
Beep beep beep beep!
I glared down at the communicator to be interrupting us and I snatched it from him. Thankfully the others barely noticed that and I answered it willingly because there was no need to gather people's attention. Robin wasn't quick, but it was better off to keep him in a good mood at least. Dani wasn't certain on this scene is happening.
"Danny's here, why is this call important?" I was not pleased.
"Yo, man, sorry, but Slade is out and we can't stop him. He managed to get out of Raven's grasp and that isn't good. We need help." Cyborg's voice appeared.
"Bots too?"
"Yes, three thousands of them."
I groaned and couldn't believe it! Slade ruins the purpose of today's plan and I wouldn't let that happen. Looks like it's Robin mode, but he has to sit out to get use to this.
"Fine, I'm on the way in ten seconds." I hung up on Cyborg and handed it over to Robin, "We need to get back home. First, I need to drop you off at the tower and join with the team." I stood up as Dani did the same.
"I'm coming too. It sounds like a promising fight."
I smirked, "You'll find it way too easy."
"We'll see."
"Why can't I fight-"
"-you're still healing."
"But I hold no symptoms."
"I know, but trust me, you will get the after symptoms, it takes a while to kick in. Trust me, I would know. We're capable of handling it because we're used to it, but you're human. You aren't used to it yet," My arm wrapped around his naval, "Now, shush. You're staying at the tower-"
"-Wait, the tower? Is this the Jump city we're talking about?" Dani gasped, "You're with the titan team? Awesome!" Her hand settled on my shoulder.
My eyes rolled, "We need to go!"
I had to teleport fast to be inside the titan tower's center. After Robin is now back home, I glared at him to warn him not to come, or he's going to regret it. He groaned, desperate to be a part of the action, and I knew he comes out the worse when it's Slade. Right now, Slade wants to obtain me and I'll show this top ass criminal who wins here.
"I'm not even pregnant!" Robin complained.
I pointed at the ground, "I don't care! One step out of the tower and you're going to be stuck in your room for a month!"
His arms crossed, "I'm the team leader."
I snorted, "I'm your dominate mate, so I win." I handed him his communicator, "You can check in with Cyborg and give some guide on how to stop some of the bots. Use computers to control the bots or something, but you're not leaving the damn tower!"
He turned silent on me, but at least he knew I wouldn't budge this for him. I transformed to Phantom as Dani did the same. He was about to run, but I knew better.
"Stay or you will be in your room for a month." I warned him.
He dropped the participating the mission act and decided to listen to me for once. I floated up and Dani follows me by flight. She wasn't even glancing the place and kept her focus on me. I knew how it is when it comes to fighting ghosts for us and we take serious pride in our action to make sure ghosts are back in their ghost zone.
"Why so uptight about this particular mission?" We were arriving close when she asked.
My head shook, "It's Slade. If Robin faces him, he won't have the strength to fight. I have to deal with Slade myself. That guy is dead-end serious on having me and Robin, but we won't go down the dark path."
"Like how you don't want to be Dan," She hummed curiously.
Dani has the memories. It's nice to talk to someone who understands exactly what I have been through, but at the same time, it's dangerous for anyone to know. The truth behind the day was horrible enough.
"Almost. You help the team out with taking those bots out, I'll deal with Slade myself." I explained, "Don't mind the others' fighting, they're capable of defending themselves."
Her head tilted, "Then why can't Robin fight too? Like he said, he's not pregnant. I don't even see what the problem is."
"I healed him two days ago. He needs to rest one more day before I can. There are side effects when I heal others that aren't like us. Robin thinks he's capable of handling the healing ability that is still running through him, if he comes out. It will take twice as long to keep the injury to heal again. Not only, that, the pain is brutal for the next forty-eight hours." I sighed, "Jazz should tell you from experiences, and she was responsible of Sam and Tucker from getting into ghost fights."
Her head shook, "Why don't you leave him with your sister until he's done with the healing, then?"
I blinked, "I did not think of that, but I don't think it'd be fair on her right now. She's probably getting a wedding dress or something." I finally spotted on the team and field of Sladebots everywhere.
The replica girl understood my reasons, and she joined in to help the team. Some of the Sladebots jumped out on me and attempted to bring me down to the ground. They failed to drag me down, I ecto-blast them straight with the stomach. The machines became malfunctioned and dropped dead instantly.
Another bot was attacking me in battle combat in phenomenal speed, and it was taking some time to keep up. This one wasn't even talking much, and I knew Slade would be determining to say something at least once. This one was stalling my time, and I needed to locate him fast to find out what Slade is up to. Maybe if I had gotten so close to him, I can find out who is this man. It would really get Robin to calm down and take advantage of the situation much better.
I ducked down before this bot's foot hit me in the head, and I managed to catch the ankle – why does Slade tends to use his bot? Robin stated it was usually used for distraction, stall time for bombs or other plans, or attempt to be alone with one of the team members. I decided to whip out the Ghost Stingers as it wrapped around the ankle and threw him around like a whip. I released that power, and the both was flying into the building as it crushed into a tree. At least, it's not alive anymore. Although, I sort had had wished that happen to Slade right now. That would have been a great relief for everyone, especially Robin.
"Nothing can stop you, Phantom." His voice crept up on me.
I mentally groaned at the sound of his voice, deeply regretting to be here at all, and wonder what his attempt may be. I turned around and kept my mouth shut. He walked out of the dark forests, and his eye revealed his emotions so easily. I noted that he's watching me to approach me well. I doubt that he could win me over that easily. At the back of my mind, my words echoed of the promises that I will never become Dan. I meant it for the entire life I will live for. I was not certain how it will turn out, but I knew the world would not die in my hands.
"I have been studying you to understand you have lost your love ones. You came here to escape from the pain. You are part human and part ghost. You can easily keep this city safe because of your power, Phantom." His eye was playing exactly the way Vlad used to do it in order to manipulate people, but for dark purposes.
I refused to give in something so manipulated it acting. Slade does not know a thing about Vlad, and I doubt Vlad would join him anyway. Vlad found someone to love and moved on with this life. He no longer felt to continue dark things to get his way since he accomplished what he has always dreamt of having. None of my words came out of my mouth, and it was going to remain that way. Slade wasn't giving up, and neither was I.
"Join me, I will show you the side of life you desire in your control." That's the best he could do? "Your mother, father, and friends can return to life. You can keep them safe in the best way you feel best for them."
I wanted them alive, but I can't go messing around with the timeline. He can't do a thing anyway, but Robin did mention he was capable of coming back to life because of Raven. Something about Slade had developed some sort of new power from Trigon. Slade was standing tall like – even though I'm several inches higher than him. How Robin does feel when he is bigger than Slade now? Well, by five inches. I still beat Robin since I'm six feet and four inches. He's six feet now. Slade was about Five feet and eleven inches from the looks of it. Why do I get the feeling the boots he wears is making him a couple of inches taller? I mentally shook that off and focused on Slade's purpose. He's trying to get me to talk to him or give in to him. Why would I do that for him?
I wanted to beat the crap out of him, but he would take the upper advantages somehow. That's part of the plan, but something is going on. I knew Dani is taking care of the bots out on the field with the titans and that helps. Slade moved closer.
"I see The Phantom having his say of his half kind, the government that hunts for you will be shut down, and you will let them suffer for any attempt they try. You set your standard rules for ghosts for all reasons. The titans…will no longer have to lift a finger to deal with undermining criminals." His eye proved his determination at will; his will, "Especially young Robin." That caught my attention, "While the rest of the world is in your hand, Robin will have to follow your expectation to keep you…satisfied."
I wanted to punch his stomach so hard where he will bleed internally. Dying painfully as one could have imagined and showed him that he was not the boss or the mastermind. He has no idea who the hell he's messing with! I growled at him intensively, and his head jerked up at my attention.
"Don't even think about it. I won't join your goddamn dark side ever!" I hissed, "Get your damn robots out of here before I have a half of mind to remove your mask."
Slade picked up his head slowly, but it proved that I knew his weakness. He knew I'm capable of doing that.
"You will join my side, Phantom. We will meet next time." He walked into the forest, blending into the dark, and disappearing from my sight.
I couldn't even stand the sight of him anymore. This guy was getting on my damn nerves when he crossed the line. He doesn't have a fucking clue why I refuse to be evil, but it was better off he doesn't. My head turned and saw the titans' meeting up when the mission is done. I floated over to them, and they were definitely confused from the way I was seeing it.
"Hey man, what happened?" Cyborg asked.
My head shook, "Slade was trying to draw my attention and see if he can get me to join his side. After that, I threaten to remove his mask."
Dani rolled her eyes, "Why it is that human criminal thinks they can get us onto their side or do what they want?"
I snorted, "Because they have no soul."
"I wouldn't be less surprise. Pariah Dark has a soul at least to think." The replica Phantom girl said.
I nodded, "Anyway," I turned my attention to the team, "This is Dani. She's a clone of me. Literally. Robin met her before the call was made." I was really upset about Slade's wording, "Dani; this is Cyborg," He waved, "Beast Boy," Beast Boy perked up with a smile, "Starfire," She waved shyly, "And Raven."
"Hey." Raven said drily.
Dani nodded, "Cool! I didn't even know Danny is with the titans! You guys are awesome!"
They exchange glances at each other, wondering about her, and I wasn't worrying. She's practically like me only as a female. My friends here have no idea what they were in for. Right now, we needed to get back home before Robin wonders what happen or steps out of the tower.
Next chapter will be up on 31st of October.
