~Yona~

(From the Manga, Akatsuki no Yona)

Yona was a serious person. And a strategic one. She decided on the order she would approach the boys based on preference: Train, Allen, Edward, Ranma, and last was Yusuke.

She immediately made her way to Train. She liked how quiet and serious he seemed to be. She had a feeling that as long as she pursued intelligent plans, he'd be willing to go along with them. Before she even had time to inform him of what she was there for, he shook his head and held up his straw. Definitely not a match.

She was disappointed, but Allen wouldn't be a bad partner either. He was sweet, and seemed like he'd take orders well. She had just been told no by Train when Allen came running over. He appeared to be running away from Rahzel, who had apparently taken a liking to him. It seemed like she was more of an excuse to ignore Rahzel for a minute rather than having any interest in being partners with her. It didn't really matter to her though; she just didn't want to be stuck with someone overly difficult, like Yusuke. Allen checked straws with her, but they were not a match.

Now Yona was disappointed. She wouldn't complain if she ended up with one of the others, but Allen and Train would have been much easier to deal with. Ranma asked her before she got to Edward, but still no match.

She finally approached Edward. She dearly hoped that Edward would be her partner. Yusuke clearly had a problem with authority, and Yona was practically an expert on authority; a princess has to be good at giving orders after all.

She asked Edward for his straw and he lifted it up next to hers. "Nope. Doesn't look like we are a pair." The sigh she let out apparently interested Edward. "Can't find your partner?"

"I wish. You were the only person left but Yusuke. I'd really rather not be in a pair with him." She let out another sigh of disappointment.

Edward tried to respond without chuckling. "Yeah, you two didn't seem like you'd get along at all." He looked at the bow that had been strung around her back since their demonstration. "But y'know, I think you're pretty lucky. He was pretty powerful, and while you might be a nice marksman, you aren't exactly the epitome of...strength." Yona simply looked at him with a bleak expression. "Well, you might as well go get him and start practicing. Sighing will get you nowhere."

"Yes, of course. Sorry to bother you." Regardless of how upset his insinuation had made her, she wouldn't disregard manners. But she also wouldn't stick around long enough for him to apologize.

Yusuke saw her approaching. "I have gotta be your last choice. That mean we are partners?" A slight scowl marred his face.

Yona refused to look him in the eye. "Yes, yes we are indeed partners." Her disappointment was palpable.

He could see how disappointed she was apparently; he began chuckling. "You must be real proud of your grand straw-drawing idea now." He had developed a mocking grin, and it bothered Yona immensely.

"Shall we train now?" Her frown had finally began appearing, and she couldn't resist it.

He propped his back more firmly against the wall he had been leaning on. "Eh~ I don't think I need to. After all, I'm already tough. You on the other hand...well I wouldn't want to see you drag me down." His cocky attitude pissed her off. Immensely. But apparently he had noticed that it had hurt her. "Ugh, it's not like it's your fault. I just meant you need to focus on training more than me. I'm not exactly a normal person."

She realized her pride was too strong. His attempt at making it easier for her just made her more upset. "No, you are right. I'm not nearly as powerful as the rest of you. I just...how do I get to that level? Uh, never mind. It is not your problem, I'll figure it out."

She started walking away. "Wait, wait a minute! I'll help you, geez. After all it is my problem since you'll be my partner. I'm gonna have to rely on you...apparently." He had began to follow her since she refused to stop when he asked.

"How could you possibly help me? Like you said, you aren't normal: well I am." Yona refused to accept his proposal, after all she was just too sudden.

"I didn't say I was that special. I mean, sure, there are things I can do that there is no way in hell you'll ever be able to do. You can learn some things I imagine...probably." He clearly wasn't sure how much she'd be able to do, but he did seem sincere.

She admitted that he was right about it being his business as well as hers, and she did need to try something. She finally stopped. "Fine. Let's see what you can teach me, and if we can't find anything we can ask Train and Ranma for some help. They didn't seem completely inhuman."

He started laughing. And she looked offended again. "I'm sorry, it's just, you could've been royalty with your domineering personality."

A look of shock crossed her face, and she knew he could tell she was lying. "Wait, no way. You aren't royalty, c'mon...seriously?...no, no, no... I mean, the way you shoot a bow...totally not something royals would do..."

Yona began rushing towards one of the training rooms. "Oh, dear no, haha...that's absolutely ridiculous...haha... let's just go train!" Yusuke trailed slowly behind her, completely dazed.
