Chapter Eleven

Party Time!

Yuki sat and waited by the front door. For the sake of laziness, she had just left it open when Mizuki came back. Now she didn't have to open and close it again and again for every person who would be coming. Her laziness was at full power that evening, even though they were having a huge party.

The rooms were decorated well, and she had carefully made a point of not getting anything that was very flammable, other than the candles on the mantlepiece in their living room. She knew that there would be three fire-users in that house overnight, and Yuki didn't want to take any chances.

While waiting, Yuki thought of a song she had heard from a movie once. It reminded her of pirates, when it was sung cheerfully. "My heart is pierced by cupid, I disdain all glittering gold, there's nothing can console me, but my jolly sailor bold." It was sung by girls who their lovers went out to sea. She had not the faintest idea why that song came to her then, but she sang it anyways.

When she finished, there was a faint echo from outside. Leaning over to see the front gate, she say Luffy and Ace walking up. Ed wasn't far behind, looking both confused and annoyed. It made Yuki laugh to see them singing the song meant for girls to sing.

"Are you the sailors I'm waiting for?" she called to them.

Ace laughed, and Luffy grinned stupidly. Ed just shook his head, and she had to assume that he wasn't in a joking mood. At least, not right then. Al and Winry were looking confused, not understanding the joke.

"Aye, that I may be," Ace replied cheerfully.

"I dunno why I even chose that song. I take it back," Yuki muttered to herself, blushing when she realized what she had said. Then, to the guests, "Sorry about giving you guys so short a notice. Really, I don't know what they're thinking."

She led them inside, directing them to the kitchen table they had covered with a plain tablecloth. When they sat down, Yuki took it upon herself to explain the whims of her best friends.

"Okay, you know I've been... ill, but I'm okay now. For some reason, Mizuki and Ema are scared for me, and they decided to throw a party at this house so they could watch me more closely. I don't wanna deal with pressure right now, so let's just have fun and enjoy the party," she explained in one breath.

Nodding slowly, Ace thought it over. Luffy was commenting on how amazing he thought it was to say that all in one breath, with Ed glaring at him for being too loud.

Yuki took another big breath and started again. "So you all know-"

"Calm down. I think we get it," Ace interrupted.

"Yeah," Ed laughed, "you don't have to worry. We'll have fun tonight, right?"

Yuki nodded. Of course they would have fun. When the party finished and everyone returned home, Ema and Mizuki would have calmed down enough, and she wouldn't have any problems with them.

I apologize in advance for the coming lack of updates.

I've decided to rewrite the entire story. When I started it, my only motivation was the fact that my favorite characters could meet each other. I didn't really have a plan for what I wanted to do, either, and at this rate, I won't be able to finish the story. So please be patient, and go look at other fanfics!
