A/N: I thought that I would write a story that was nice to Lavender for a change. I wrote one were she was completely heartbroken, and one were she got possessed by Tommy Girl, and then killed by her best friend. Now it is time for something nice to happen to her for a change.
Do you guys have any idea how hard it is to write Lavender?
Disclaimer: I own nothing!
~Astronomy Tower~
Lavender Brown sat on the Astronomy Tower staring at the nights sky. It was well after curfew, but she didn't really care. She had been up here for hours, hiding from her fellow students, her teachers, and anyone that would want to talk to her. Earlier she been crying, but that had long since passed. Now she was just feeling rather depressed. Though it was starting to turn into anger.
How dare he! How dare he! She couldn't believe that her Won-Won would break up with her for Granger of all people. What did he see in her? She spent far too long with her nose stuck in a book, she never bothered to make herself look presentable, and her hair. Lavender wouldn't go into everything that was wrong with that girls hair.
Her anger didn't last long, before quickly returning to sniffling. Who was she kidding, she knew that Ron was in love with Hermione for years. Everyone knew, except for those two. He just had to finally realize it when he was dating Lavender, and it hurt her far more than she would ever admit.
Ron leaving her didn't surprise her very much. She knew deep down that it would eventually happen, even if she had been in denial about it. No what shocked her, and scared her was the realization that came with their break-up.
It was a common practice in the wizarding world to find your life mate young, and marry straight out of school. The thing was that she was now in her sixth year of Hogwarts, and no where near finding hers. It had always been her life long dream to find someone, and raise a family with him. And yet, that seemed far more distantly into the future than she had thought it should be at this age. It didn't help that many of her peers had already found their life mates, Harry and Ginny, Ron and Hermione, the list went on.
Its not that she hadn't tried, she had, she had searched as hard as she could. She dated several guys, trying to find someone who suited her, and who she suited. Ron, her last attempt, obviously hadn't worked out. Then there was Dean Thomas, back early in her fifth year. She had thought that they really connected, that was until she noticed just how much time he spent staring at other girls. In particularly Ginny (Lavender couldn't say just how pleased she was to see the red-head break-up with Dean, especially when she used her infamous Bat Bogey Hex on him). There had been others, but Ron and Dean were the two of most note, having been her longest relationships to date.
A drop of water hitting her cheek broke her of her thoughts for the first time. Rain started to pelt down at her, getting harder by the second. Shivering from the cold and the wet, she quickly made her way back inside and to Gryffindor tower. She was slightly surprised that she didn't run into any teachers, especially considering how late it was.
She entered the common room, only to immediately run into someone. He steadied her before she could fall, "Whoa there lovely."
She looked un into the eyes of Seamus. "Thanks," she said through chattering teeth.
"Crikey, your freezing," he quickly cast warming and drying charms on her.
"Thank you!" She said again, smiling at him. Maybe things would out after all.
A/N: Okay, this isn't exactly a very upbeat story about Lavender, but hey, it's way better than my others.
Also yes the ending is rather cheesy, but that can't be helped.
