Tall. Tall. Tall. TALL!

I looked at myself. I was tall! No more short jokes for me. Just wait until the others get a look at me, they couldn't even imagine… He-he…

I found it hard to get out of the house. I broke the doorway! I don't know now if this is so good anymore.

"Emerald?"

"What happened to shorty?"

I looked to see the two lovebirds. "What are you guys doing here?"

"We were just stopping by. Boy are you tall," Ruby told me, putting his hand on his head to block the shine of the sun as he was looking up at me.

"You're ginormous!" Sapphire put her hands in the air and waved them wildly.

Ruby gave Sapphire a look of question. "Is it me, or is he getting taller?"

Sapphire observed me. "I think you're right for once!"

Ruby glared at her.

The two then began their 'lovers quarrel'. I walked away from them, not wanting to put up with their bickering.

"AHH—! A monster!"

I looked at all the screaming people. They were all pointing and it looked like they were really scared of me. The more I tried to approach them, the more scared they seemed to be. I wonder why?

"Emerald, what happened to you?"

I looked down to see no other than Crystal. Crystal!

"Emerald, did you hear me?" She asked a bit louder.

I did the first thing that came to mind. I picked her off the floor. She didn't struggle. Crystal sure is brave…

"Emerald did you hear me!?"

I looked at her. "S-sorry Crystal."

Being Crystal, she began to lecture me, saying that I should pay attention when a senior is speaking to me. Just the usual Crystal-ly stuff. To be honest, I was only half paying attention.

"Emerald! Don't give me that look!"

"What look?"

"That look! It's the same as Gold's! The 'I'm not really paying attention to you' look."

Senior Crystal really is smart! I don't know if that's such a good thing. Oh, better apologize. "Sorry."

She smiled. "Don't worry about it. Now where are we going?"

I took a look around. We were at a park in the middle of, well, wherever we were. "Hey Crystal look at the lake!"

She nodded. "Yes. But look closely; it's frozen."

Suddenly I got an idea. I walked towards the frozen lake and set Crystal down. She hesitated a bit, but I didn't let go of her. She started skating on the frozen lake. She looks like she's having fun!

"This can get pretty tiring," She admitted.

I nodded. "Want to go?"

"Where?"

"I'll just keep walking straight. It looks like there's a ton of cool buildings up ahead."

She agreed with me as I lifted her off the floor. Hmm, now that I think about it, I wouldn't be able to carry her like this if I was still my normal height. Then again, my height is out of the ordinary. I wish I was Gold's height. He can carry Crystal…

"Crystal?"

"Yes?"

"I-is it t-true…"

She gave me a weird look. "Is what true?"

"Is it true t-that you l-like Gold?"

I couldn't hear her response. There was a swarm of airplanes coming toward us. Are they trying to kill us or something? I didn't know. Crystal slightly panicked and told me to run somewhere.

I ran to a tall building and started to climb it. I don't think it was a good idea, since they are planes… no! I have to protect Crystal!

I kept climbing and eventually reached the top. I set Crystal down.

"What are you doing Emerald!?"

I didn't answer her. One of the airplanes came right for me. I felt myself beginning to fall backwards. "AHH!"

"AHH! …wait, what?" I noticed I was back inside my room. I was on the floor. Oh, so I just fell out of the bed… wait! I ran up to the closest mirror I could find.

I sighed in relief. "For once, I'm glad I'm short."
