Hikari Uzumaki is all alone, her family killed by the kyuubi seven years ago and the entire village seems to hate her for some reason. However, one night everything is revealed and she must choose whether to stand up and endure the hate for the good of the entire world, or crumble and fall into darkness, never to escape.

Thats the pairings for now, if you have another pairing you want, review and post it and it will be added to the poll. Also, i have decided to make the uchiha massacre NOT happen, so sasuke will not be a revenge driven emo in this story, he will be a generally nice guy and there will be NO FANGIRLS, eugh i hate those creatures lol. * Seven years later*

Tsunade senju, having returned at the call of her sensei, sarutobi hiruzen is now the Godaime hokage and jiraiya is now the official spymaster of the leaf, having rooted out the civilian council's schemes and crimes, leading to them being thrown in jail and the civilian council being disbanded. Tsunade sighs as she looks at jiraiya and sarutobi in front of her." zelda-san will probably be returning with little hikari-chan sometime this week since it has been seven years already and by then, she will hopefully be stronger and will forgive me for hiding the truth from her for so long." sarutobi says sadly as his two students look at him sympathetically but say nothing as he leaves and tsunade goes back to her paperwork, wishing for something to happen to get her away from this curse called paperwork.

As tsunade deals with her paperwork, two travelers hidden underneath traveling cloaks head toward the massive gate of konoha. Once they reach the gate, they pull down their hoods and pull their paperwork out. The taller blonde woman is zelda namikaze, wife of minato namikaze. After seven years, she is a few inches taller and her blonde hair is now down to her waist and she now wears the dress she used to wear when minato was alive.

The younger woman is revealed to be hikari uzumaki. After seven years of training under her mother and other people from around the elemental nations, she wears a different version of her mothers dress, with her top having the same pattern only in dark blue and a dull pink color. Her pants are a deep sea blue color, seeming to absorb light as she walks with ease behind her mother. On her back is the master sword and the mirror shield, highly polished and scratched from heavy use over the years. She stands at a rather tall 5' 7" with strong yet lean muscles showing the results of her hard training. Her deep blue eyes still carry the same warmth and kindness as before, but they now have a confidence shining in them seen only in the eyes of most jounin. She looks to her mother and smiles" Kaa-chan are we going to go see jiji-san now, can we please I wanna show him how good I am now" she exclaims as zelda just laughs and nods her head."Yes hikari-chan we can, race you there" she smirks before she shunshin's away leaving hikari pouting before she shunshin's also to the hokage's office.

As they reach the hokage's office they knock on the door and enter after hearing a woman call out for them to enter. Upon entering hikari and zelda's eyes widen at seeing tsunade sitting at the desk. Hikari walks up to her and bows her head before looking around quizzically" where is ji-san, I thought he would still be hokage, he didn't die before I got back did he" she asks worriedly as tsunade chuckles and sends for an anbu to get both jiraiya and sarutobi. "no child he didn't die but I am the godaime hokage now because he wanted to retire to spend some time with his grandson and enjoy the rest of his time with family and he was waiting for you to return. You must be hikari-chan and this must be zelda-san that I have heard much about. Well while we wait for them, sarutobi has already told me that you both left on a training trip to get her stronger. So zelda-san how much stronger has our little princess gotten eh" tsunade asks as hikari pouts at the given nickname. Zelda smiles as the door opens and sarutobi walks in, only to be bowled over as hikari flies at him and hugs him tightly. He chuckles and pats her head soothingly before standing up and sitting down beside her on the couch in the office. 'Well tsunade-sama hikari here is now on the level of most high jounin. She would be high anbu level but that is with experience in the field, so she will be able to protect herself with no problem whatsoever. She knows everything I know, including her father's jutsu and we also ran into some other people and got her some training from a few surprising sources."

"Also, we made some very interesting side trips along the way which got her a view into the world of shinobi when we helped out a few places here and there. All in all she is now a respectable kunoichi ready for whatever the world throws at her. One other thing is that she and the kyuubi have come to an agreement of sorts where she will allow him to view the outside world and kyuubi will allow hikari here to use his chakra when needed and won't interfere with her chakra control anymore, so all in all the training trip went well." zelda says as everyone gapes at hikari with shock. Tsunade recovers first and nods as she writes a letter and hands it to hikari."here take this to the academy and give it to umino iruka in room 212. he will let you take the genin exams and join this years graduating class." tsunade says as hikari takes it and leaves the office after giving sarutobi one last hug.

As hikari walks towards the academy, she notices that everyone is giving her looks of surprise and confusion, before the looks change to looks of understanding and kindness, instead of the looks of hatred and loathing she used to get. One of the older ladies walks up to hikari and bows her head, apologizing for the way she treated her when she was younger because of fear and loss. Surprised, hikari nod and hugs the woman before heading towards the academy, still surprised by the woman's actions. She enters the academy and heads for the room she is directed to by the receptionist. Inside the classroom, iruka is looking over the students with a sigh ' why don't they ever act like the genin they are about to become instead of like children who are getting a new toy' he thinks before yelling at them to sit down and shut up. "now hokage-sama has sent me a missive explaining that a new student will be joining us. She has been on a training trip for several years and has just returned to the village, and is sufficiently skilled enough to be placed with this year's graduates.

A brown haired kid with a dog on his head stands up and places his palms on the desk in front of him as he stares at his teacher in shock." What iruka sensei, how can someone else just join out of the blue without having listened to your boring lectures like we have" he asks in outrage. Iruka glares at the boy and a tic mark forms on his head." Kiba sit down and shut up, hokage-sama herself gave her permission so be quiet."

A soft knock on the door quiets the entire rooms and as the door opens, all of the guys and some of the girls gasp at the sight of the person who enters the room. Long flowing blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes, accompanied by a warm smile appear on the face of hikari as she surveys the room quietly. As she walks towards iruka, everyone stares at her with wide eyes, blushes on many of their faces as she hands tsunade's message to iruka. He reads it then turns to the class, who by this time has made hikari blush due to their undivided attention on her. Iruka clears his throat and everyone turns to him expectantly." class this is hikari uzumaki, and she will be joining us for the genin exam. Since mizuki was arrested last year after stealing the scroll of sealing and being executed, we will have the jounin sensei's for this year be the judges of this genin exam, to both rate your performance and judge which teams you will be on." As he finishes speaking, the door opens again and in walk Anko, Kurenai, Kakashi, Asuma and Gai. All wearing serious faces as iruka leads them out to the outdoor target practice range and they all line up. As iruka calls the students one by one, the sensei's watch carefully as each student takes his or her turn at throwing shuriken or kunai.

The girls of the class go first as iruka watches to prevent any accidents from happening just in case as the sensies stand on either side of the target range. First up is tenten higurashi, who scores a 10/10 for kunai and 9/10 for shuriken. Hinata hyuuga goes next and gets a 9/10 for kunai and a 9/10 for shuriken. The last two girls in the class, sakura haruno and ino yamanaka, who are both best friends and do everything together, both get 8/10 for kunai and 7/10 for shuriken. The boys then step up to do their test as they each get the same scores or higher on the kunai and shuriken test. The last two students to go, hikari and sasuke uchiha eye each other, hikari eyeing sasuke with friendliness and sasuke with wariness and a challenging look to his eyes. Hikari starts to throw, followed by sasuke a split second later, as they both try to outdo the other. As they finish panting slightly, the sensei's look at each other and grin before conferring upon sasuke and hikari a full 10/10 for both kunai and shuriken.

The sensei's decide not to hold the taijutsu portion of the exam since they will be teaching their teams a different style then the academy style, except for hikari since the academy does not have a record of her scores in taijutsu. She steps up to the ring as sasuke volunteers to be the one to fight her. He walks into the ring with a smirk, as she cocks her head to the side with a curious expression on her face."sasuke, why did you volunteer to fight me?" she asks as he just smirks and shakes his head, before dropping into the uchiha clan's interceptor style. Hikari smirks before dropping into a style that nobody recognize's except for gai. Her feet planted wide apart, toes pointed outwards from her body, elbows against her side and fists pointed straight forwards towards sasuke. At gai's gasp of shock the sensei's turn to him in question as he speaks up" that is the lost taijutsu style of a master who was never beaten ever. His taijutsu style ha been lost for over 200 years, ever since the 1st shinobi war. How young hikari has found it or even knows it is beyond me, as even I searched for it for years without luck of finding it." he says as hikari dashes forwards, fists raised in a cross pattern across her chest before swinging them outwards, blowing sasuke back a good 3 feet with a powerful blow. She then runs after him and spins rapidly on her hands, kicking him multiple times as she spins her hands rapidly to keep her momentum going. With a final push off the ground with her hands, her foot connects with sasuke's jaw and sends him flying out of the ring. He hits the grouns unconscious as iruka checks the time on the stopwatch and gulps as the time it displays is less then 30 seconds from the start of the match. As whispers break out among the students, they all head back inside for the ninjutsu portion, opting to use the large gym instead of the classroom like the usually would have, since the jounin sensie's are the examiners today and not the chuunin teachers.

As the students enter the large gym, they tell the students to sit down in the bleachers off to the side as the jounin move towards the center of the gym. As the other jounin set up a table for them to sit at and chair's, Asuma walks over to the bleachers and scans the crowd. "Okay once the test begins, we will call you one by one to do the academy jutsu to pass. For extra credit, you can do one of the jutsu you know that is not taught here at the academy." he says before heading off to sit down at the table with the others.

As the clan heirs pass one by one, showing off the jutsu of their clan's, sasuke heads up to the table and turns to smirk at hikari with a confident smirk, making hikari blush for some reason. He flashes through handsigns and forms a small 'o' with his hands and pushes his chakra through it, making a medium sized falcon form and it flies around the room, calling as it eyes the crowd before landing on sasukes arm without burning him. He dispells it and winks at hikari, who blushes more and this time everyone notices. The boys catcall and wolf whistle while hinata glares at sasuke and hikari struggles to hide her blush as she heads to the judges table.

"okay hikari, can you do the transformation jutsu for us? "Iruka asks kindly.

" sure iruka-sensei just watch me. Henge " she calls out and a poof of smoke covers her from sight. Standing in her place is now a perfect image of her mother at age sixteen. All of the males in the room get nosebleeds and the girls blush wildly at the beauty of the woman in front of them.

After she does the bunshin, or rather kage bunshin since she has way to much chakra for the regular bunshin, and the kawarimi, she smiles and grins as the jounin asks if she has a jutsu she has that she would like to shake with the rest of the class. She nods and takes out an ocarina and nods.

" the jutsu I have is based on music and it will heal someone completely with just a song" she says as she makes a large cut on her arm and tells the fox not to heal it mentally. As it drips blood on her arm, sasuke along with hinata and surprisingly shino, all get agitated at seeing her bleeding and hurt, even though she made the cut herself. She raises the ocarina to her lips and starts to play a soft soothing song on the ocarina and she starts to glow as the gash heals up completely, leaving no sign she ever injured herself at all. All of the jounin at the table and iruka are gobsmacked at the display and iruka hands her her headband as she takes it and hurries over to hinata. "look hina-chan I did it, I passed." she cries happily as she hugs hinata tightly, who by now is blushing at being so close to her crush. " Th-that's great hikari-chan I am happy for you" she says softly as iruka stands up and dismisses them, telling them to be back for team placements in two weeks time. As everyone leaves the gym, some happy about passing while others disappointed at not passing, hikari runs outside and see's her mother. She runs over to her and squeals happily as she shows her her headband." Kaa-san look I passed, I passed isn't it great." she shouts happily as zelda laughs at the happiness of the little girl in front of her as she hugs hikari tightly. " I am proud of you little one, but remember, being a ninja is hard work so you must be careful and be safe, and do not take anything lightly or you might get hurt little one okay" she asks as she looks at hikari, who nods before hugging her mother again.

As the villagers watch the scene between mother and daughter, who are by this time laughing and poking at each other, trying to tickle the other, they feel a burst of regret and sorrow inside of them. They glance at some of the other parent's around and see the same look on the faces of others. They gather their children and start to leave, trying desperately to ignore the feelings of regret that bloom inside of them, as they tell themselves from now on that they should be nicer to the poor girl.

Okay that's Chapter 3 done guys. Next time will be the team placements and the dreaded D-ranks. DUN DUN DUN!

Okay a couple of things before I go. Please read and review this story and tell me what you think and how it could be better.

1)Hikari can use the ocarina songs with her chakra to actually do something.(song of healing will actually heal.)

2) Iv'e added sasuke as a pairing choice, simply because a lot of people like the pairing for some reason)

3) She will be able to use a lot of the abilities link has in game, but they will be in the form of jutsu.

4) most of the items link used, such as the bow and hookshot, will not be in the story, only the master sword and mirror shield, simply because I don't see a place for them in this story.
