Chapter 12

"'~.'~.'.~'.~'" Amy P.O.V "'~.'~.'.~'.~'"

I slowly began to go back to my senses. Noises – particularly people talking – buzzed around in my head. Over time, the noise began to escalate.

"…Shino…"

"…sleeping in her…"

"…what's going on?"

"…ya know!"

I growled at the noise intensified and turned over in my bed. As I wrapped my blanket around me, I noticed another figure next to me. My heart dropped in fear, not knowing what was going on. As my heart pace sped up, my connection to reality strengthened. After a moment of rational thinking, I realized something.

The person next to me was Shino.

After this realization, I calmed down from my fear. I sighed contently and snuggled back in, relishing the silence. I frowned.

Wait.

Weren't there people talking just a second ago?

I forced my eyes open, trying to find the source of the talking.

I cringed back and fell out of my bed when I found Naruto's face in mine.

"ACK! The hell are you doing in here Naruto!?" I cried loudly from my spot on the floor. I rubbed my head and stood up. I scanned the room and found everyone in there, staring at the figure on my bed.

"Why is Shino sleeping in your bed?" Sai asked, risking the chance of breaking the silence. I shrugged tiredly, not really caring about the stares I was getting.

"He seemed tired, and he was keeping watch for loud people attempting to wake me up." At the word loud, I gave Naruto a pointed look. He chuckled in response and scratched the back of his head. I sighed and plopped into one of my sleeping bags.

"I told him he could sleep there. I guessed he was going to sleep somewhere in the room anyway. Plus, if he was near me, then the girls probably wouldn't have hit him the moment he was discovered." I reasoned, letting out an exhausted yawn at the end of it.

Sakura nodded her head in thought and looked at the other girls, they were doing the same. She looked back at me and shrugged her shoulders. Finally, she turned her attention to the boys.

"She has a point. I would have beaten him if it wasn't for Amy-Chan sleeping next to him. She's scary when you wake her up!" The boys nodded in approval, a few laughing nervously, taking glances at me to see my reaction. When I didn't respond, they allowed a smile to break onto their lips.

"You got that right, Sakura-Chan!" Kiba called from next to the door. This broke out a few more fits of laughter.

"What is everyone laughing at?" Shino asked from the bed. I glanced at him as the laughter died down, all attention turning to him. Before anyone could respond to him, Kakashi cleared his throat. I watched him from the corner of my eye as he broke from the crowd and occupied the space between the bed, the group, and the bean bag.

"Amy-Chan, I respect that you can make your own choices, since it is your house…" I nodded at him casually as he tried to word his sentence.

"And I trust that there is nothing going on here…" I raised my eyebrows at the grey-haired shinobi, a small smirk morphing onto my face. Before he could try to continue the conversation, I cut him off.

"Kakashi, I assure you nothing sensual is going on here. I just gave him a decent place to sleep since he was keeping watch and keeping me company as I tried to sleep. Plus, you all were occupied with Monica, so someone had to make sure nothing happened to your other chakra-less friend. What if they're waiting for the perfect time to steal one of us for investigation? Preferably when were asleep?"

I waited silently as the group processed this information, their eyes slowly nodding in realization.

"Now, if this were to happen, I would not tell them anything. But what if Monica got taken from us? I would never be able to forgive myself for that."

I got up and went over to where Monica was standing. I rested my arm on her shoulder then nodded to her, a serious look in my face. When she nodded back, I leaned away and walked to Kakashi.

"I propose that at least one of you guys keep watch of Monica. Preferably one of the girls, since you guys can go into the girls' bathrooms with her." When I mentioned this, they tilted their heads in confusion. I looked back towards Kakashi.

"As you know, I have met the one watching over the Akatsuki. Her name is Tai. I am positive that she goes to my old school – the one that Monica goes to now. School starts in a month, but I've already graduated. I cannot watch over Monica at school, since I'm gonna have to work 3 jobs to feed all of you brats. One of you guys have to watch her." Kakashi nodded in thought as he scanned the younger generation of shinobi.

"Can one of the boys and one of the girls go? Just in case something does happen at school and they need backup?" I nodded my head in response.

"Sure, whatever works best." I carelessly responded back. After that, I turned around and looked at the shinobi in front of me. Tenten, Neji, and Rock Lee were all peaked with curiosity at the option of experiencing this school. I frowned at them.

"Team Gai, I apologize, but you can't go. You're too old to go. But, if you want to do something, you can probably take odd jobs to earn money. They're tedious, and are a little bit like your low ranked missions, but I assure you I'll let you train any free time you guys have." Rock Lee visibly deflated and looked down. The other two nodded, understanding the situation and not holding it against me. I turned my attention to the girls. I scanned them until they landed on Ino.

"Ino, I want you to go." A smile broke onto her lips at this, and she turned to stick her tongue out at Sakura. Sakura turned to look at me. Before she could complain about my choice, I cut in.

"Your hair is a natural pink color. Pink is not a natural hair color in my universe. You would be the talk of the school, in a negative way. Hinata, your quiet nature will get you picked on, even if you are tough. You two are both tough, but I don't want to send you guys there just to start fights. I picked Ino because she has a nature to show a strong stupor, something you need when you go to high school. People will back away from Ino because she has a persona of being mean." Ino puffed her cheeks at my response as Sakura laughed at her. I smiled at them and turned to the remaining boys.

Without thinking about it, I made eye contact with Sai.

"I want Sai to attend with Ino. Sai has a great ability to absorb information and not ask too many questions about it, something that teachers absolutely love. Yes, he does have an ability to piss people off, but he can also defend himself and others with words. Also, he is pretty good at deceiving people; the teachers would love him instantly." When Sai nodded and the others decided to accept my decision, I turned towards Kakashi.

"Do you approve my choices?" I questioned, raising an eyebrow at Kakashi. After a thoughtful moment, he nodded in approval. I smiled brightly as I turned around and made eye contact with Monica.

"Now only one thing left to do, go convince your parents to let you stay with me!" Monica nodded in agreement and followed me out the door. I turned around and eyed the ninja.

"If someone is willing to turn into a kitty, they can go with us." With that, I walked out of the door and stood in the living room. After a moment, Shino walked out of the hallway as a kitten. I smiled as I picked him up. I slipped on some shoes and grabbed my car keys.

"Let's go sweet talk your parents."

"'~.'~.'.~'.~'" Tai P.O.V. "'~.'~.'.~'.~'"

"Tai! Get your lazy ass into the fucking living room right now! This is cutting into my sacrificing time, you little bitch! Jashin-sama is gonna be pissed!"

Tai grumbled in her sleep as she heard the distant yelling and banging from her door. She was too exhausted from working, even though she's been off for two days now. The toll of work has finally worked its magic on her, and she is currently sleeping it off.

Well, that was until the door busted open and the bed flipped over.

Tai landed onto the bed with a 'thunk'. She groaned as she sat up from her perch on the floor and rubbed her head. When the delusion of sleep finally danced out of her head, she looked up to glare at the culprit who flipped her out of her dream. She growled at the sight of Hidan.

"You stupid hobknocker, couldn't you see I was sleeping?!" Tai yelled, springing to her feet. Hidan glared at her for a moment.

"Get your fucking ass downstairs already." He responded, grabbing a hold of Tai's green hair, and dragging her out of the room.

Tai yelped in pain by being manhandled by the immortal brute and tried to get away. When his grip tightened, she stopped struggling and obediently followed. She glared at the silver haired Jashin worshiper.

"I hate you with a passion." She stated, not once faltering her glare. Hidan glanced at her once before snorting and looking away.

"I fucking hate you too bitch. If I was the mother fucking leader, I would have killed you on the spot." Tai's thumb trailed to her mouth nervously as she got to the living room. The last thing she needed was to get beat up by Hidan.

When they reached the couch, Hidan sat down and pulled Tai onto him, where he then trapped her there with a firm grip. Tai squirmed uncomfortably as she tried to get out.

"Let. Me. Out!" She growled, shaking once more in her attempt to break free. When his hold tightened to where she could barely breathe, she stopped the struggle.

When Hidan's grip loosened, she broke out quickly and found a spot on the floor in the corner of the room to sit in. The Akatsuki watched this in silent amusement until Pein broke the silence.

"Zetsu has informed me that the Konoha ninja are taking precautions, and are having two of their shinobi attending school with the girl who discovered them in the woods. Tai, you go to the same school with her from the information Zetsu has received by listening in. We have assigned Deidara to go with you to your school when you begin again. Is that understood?" Tai rolled her eyes and looked at the wall, successfully ignoring the Akatsuki.

"If you think that would help. But won't they be expecting that? We're giving them what they want." Tai responded, continuing to ignore the leader. Pein sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose.

"What I say is final, and Deidara will be going with you!" He growled, looking at the girl. "I am in charge here, not you." Tai looked at him with this response, and broke out into a fit of laughter. When she stopped, she became serious and stood up.

"If you were in charge here, you would know everything about this world. You would have killed me on the spot. You wouldn't have to listen to me bicker constantly and have to deal with it just so you can survive. No, you're not the one in charge. I am."

After Tai's short speech, she stood there and glared at Pein. The color of every member of the Akatsuki's face drained from them as they looked between Tai and Pein. No one, absolutely no one, talked to Pein like that.

Pein glared at the girl for a long moment, watching as Tai realized who she was talking to and began to pale with the rest of the Akatsuki. Her thumb went to her mouth as she watched the leader.

In a flash, Tai was pinned to the wall. Pein had his arm pressed to her neck while the opposite hand held a kunai to her face. Tai yelped as she stared at the weapon, her blood completely draining from her body. The Akatsuki rose up in shock, the smarter ones staying back, while the dumber ones went up to Pein.

"Tobi thinks Tai didn't mean what she said, Pein-sama!" Tobi called, his visible eye glimmering at Pein. Pein looked him in the eye before looking back at Tai. He pressed harder on her neck, causing her to cough.

"As much as I hate to say it, Tobi is right, Hmm. She did look a little distraught when she came in here, yeah." Pein glared at Deidara when he responded, but backed away from Tai. When the hold released, Tai dropped to the floor and began to cough. Pein glared at her before pulling her up again.

"Ever insult me like that again, I will kill you. You are lucky I am a merciful God right now." Pein spat at Tai, dropping her again when he finished his onslaught. Pein then briskly left the room, Konan obediently following him out.

When the two left, Sasori stepped up to the girl who was coughing on the floor and picked her up.

"Where are you taking me?" She croaked, panic filling her eyes. Sasori glanced at her before looking ahead.

"If I don't heal your throat, you will surly lose your voice and have bruises covering it. That won't look good when you work. They might send someone." Tai thought about this for a moment before shrugging.

"Thanks, hobknocker." Sasori sent her a glare as he walked into the room.

"Don't call me that, brat, or I'll poison you."

Z. U(Guest): Sorry if that's a bad thing! I had no idea someone had the same plot as me, but I should have expected it. The people in the Naruto-verse turning into kittens, and then arriving in the Milky Way galaxy is a pretty common story theme. I hope that you're not mad at me! T-T
