You guys, I'm finally back, I promise I'll be writing a lot more since I have study hall for the next two terms. Also, I've been forgetting about it but, thank you so much for over 100 reviews, that is the most I have ever gotten! Anyway, I am very excited to write this chapter because…. IT'S LIAM'S FIRST CHRISTMAS :) I know it may be a little early for some of you, but, I love Christmas! Anyway, I hope you all enjoy :)
Finn has never been so excited for his school to be on Christmas Break, it's Liam's first Christmas so of course Finn and Rachel have a load of things planned to do with him. They've already bought him a bunch of his presents too, mostly toys, clothes, and new books to read to him. Today though, they're going to the mall to get Liam's first picture with Santa taken. Rachel dresses him up in a red and green sweater with a matching, button-up shirt and khakis, while Rachel is getting him all fancied up Liam does absolutely nothing but fuss.
"Sweetie, you look adorable, there's no need for fussiness, Momma just needs to straighten out your collar, okay? There all done, now let's go show Daddy how handsome you look."
"Oh my goodness look at this, there's my handsome little man, come her Bud, let me see you." Finn says scooping Liam up into his arms.
"Isn't he just the cutest kid in the world. He looks so much like you."
"He's just such a smiley baby."
"So, should we get going?"
"Yeah, the lines are going to be really long and we don't ant to get home too late, he'll be so cranky."
Finn takes Liam to sit on Santa's lap, and the kid doesn't even fuss like they thought he would. Finn stands there just staring at the smile on Liam's little face.
"Oh Honey, you looked so adorable and you didn't even cry. Mommy is just so proud of you, baby boy." Rachel says kissing Liam's cheek over and over.
"I'd say his first photo with Santa was a total success."
"Oh, it was. Now I think we should get him home and put him down for a little nap. He looks really tired and we were out a while longer than we expected."
"Yeah, that sounds like a good idea, but I wouldn't be surprised if he falls asleep in the car on our way home."
"He probably will, isn't that right, my little sleepy head."
Finn carries a sleeping Liam into the house when he and Rachel get home from taking Liam to the mall. He puts him in some sleeping clothes and kisses his little cheek."
"Have a good nap kiddo, Mommy and I had a very good day with you today you were such a good sport, I'll see you when you wake up, okay?" he tells him.
"Is our little elf asleep?" Rachel asks Finn with a smile.
Finn chuckles. "Yeah, fast asleep. We wore the poor boy out."
"Aww, our poor cutie pie."
"He looked so cute in his outfit though, you did a good job getting him all fancied up."
"Thank you, do you remember that I dressed him in that for our Christmas card?"
"Yeah, I do. The extra is on the refrigerator, remember?"
Rachel smiles as she looks up to read the card for the thousandth time. Merry Christmas (And Happy Hanukah) Hope your holiday season is wonderful. We are so grateful for all of the wonderful people we get to share the holiday spirit with. Sending our love from New York, Love, the Hudsons'.
"I can't believe we're finally about to have our very first Christmas with a child." Rachel says.
"I know, soon enough he will enough to be bouncing around on bed, waking us up, and asking if he can open his presents."
"Finn, don't say that again Honey, I don't want our sweet baby boy to grow up that fast."
"I know you don't, but I told you, he will always be our little boy."
"I know, so do you want to cuddle and drink hot chocolate and watch a Christmas movie until Liam wakes up and demands our attention."
"Of course I would."
Liam wakes up much sooner than his parents wanted him to.
"I'll get him."
Rachel goes to Liam's room and scoops him up in her arms.
"Well, I can tell somebody really wanted up from his nap. Do you want to go and snuggle with Daddy and I?" Rachel asks.
Liam smiles at her. "Well that's definitely a yes. Come on sweetie let's go and sit with Daddy."
Rachel takes Liam downstairs and sits him in Finn's lap, because she can tell by the look in her husband's eyes that he wants to play with him.
"Hey Buddy, did you have a nice nap? We missed you." Finn says.
Liam turns his head and giggles at his Daddy. "I take that as a yes, now what do you say you watch this movie with your mommy and I?"
Rachel sets her son on her lap and snuggles him, kissing his little cheek. "You like your Mommy cuddles, don't you, Darling." She coos.
"I can't wait for his first Christmas.!"
Finn, it's only in two days!"
"But Rach! We love Christmas!"
"I know we do, I'm just teasing you, Finn. I'm just as excited as you are about all of this."
"I was thinking, should we sing to him?"
"I think that is an absolutely wonderful idea!"
"Good, I think it's been quite some time since the two of us have sang a song for him."
"What do you think, Sugar Plum, would you like Mommy and Daddy to sing a Christmas song for you?"
Liam smiles "Well, alrighty then, let's do this for you." Rachel says
Rachel: Just a hint of peppermint and every single thing begins to feel like Christmas
And just like the snowflakes, no two are ever the same
Finn: Red and white and candy striped in every shape and size, oh what a sweet treat this is
So hop on the choo choo and woo woo to Candy Cane Lane
Both: You'll be all aglow from your head to mistletoes, oh
There's no road that could ever smell as sweet or look as good enough to eat
There's nothin' like a city block of hangin' lights, where I
Just wanta curl up by the fire for a couple cups of cider and
Roast all those marshmallows
Finn: They're hung up in the trees in line, the bulbs all fill the street just like a scene from a snow globe
So baby, let's go take a stroll down to Candy Cane Lane

Rachel: Add a pinch of cinnamon and suddenly the world begins to taste like December

Finn: Just a couple licks from the minty sugar stick and everything turns wintergreen
Both: On Candy Cane Lane, one block from Gum Drop Street
"You like that, Liam?" Finn asks the smiling, giggling little boy.
"I know he loves it when we sing him stuff."
"He loves music, Maybe I should have gotten him a set of baby drums for a Christmas gift."
"Finn, babe, that is completely ridiculous, adorable, but ridiculous."
"I know, but I'll have to get him some when he is finally old enough."
"Yeah, look at how happy he is right now."
"He is just such a happy kid."
" I know, and I can already loves Christmas just as much as we do."
"Speaking of Christmas, we are hosting Christmas Eve family stuff tomorrow so we should be getting him to bed pretty soon."
"Yeah, come on Sweetie, we don't want you to be way too tired and cranky when you see all of your family tomorrow."
Finn has Liam carefully situated in his arms when everyone arrives. He reallly isn't surprsed to see that his mom and Burt are the first ones to show up.
"Come on Buddy, let's go see Grandma. I bet she has missed you an awful lot. She spoils you too much, you know that?"
"Hi Honey, it's so good to see you, Merry Christmas Finn. My goodness that little grandson of mine has just gotten so big since I last saw him, he's growing up so fast, you should be proud of yourself , you and Rachel have done an absolutely fantastic job of raising him." Carole says.
"Merry Christmas Mom, and I know he's growing like a weed, I don't think Rachel and I can emotionally him growing this fast much longer." Finn says hugging his mother.
"Oh nonsense, that grandbaby of mine is not growing up fast enough to make you cry, is he?"
"Mom!"
"Sweetie, I'm kidding with you."
Finn watches as Rachel is playing with Liam, showing him all of the family Christmas ornaments and singing him a various arrangement of Christmas songs as she bounces him up and down.
"What is my lovely little family up to?" Finn asks with a grin.
"Oh just busy teaching Liam some classic Christmas songs."
"Oh are you now? Does he seem to like to listen to them."
"Well, he keeps squirming around and making all of his little happy noises so I would assume so."
"Good, I'm glad, I came over because I just thought the two of you looked so adorable over here playing together."
"I just wanted to spend a few minutes with my little boy before I have to get started cooking dinner."
"And I'm sure it was a whole lot of fun."
"Well, I need to cook dinner, could you and Liam keep me company."
"We would love to."
"Good, I hate cooking alone, besides I could use you to taste just a few little samples for me."
"You know I love to do that."
"Good, to the kitchen then?"
"Yes, to the kitchen.
Rachel scrambles for a cup of flour for cookies, after a while she finds them, and continues until she finally uses the cookie cutters to shape up all of the cookies.
"Look Liam, a snowman, and a reindeer, aren't these cute." Rachel says playfully, and then she gets an idea.
"Finn could you please put Liam in his high chair?" She asks.
"Yeah, why?"
"I thought Liam could maybe help me press out a few cookies."
"Rachel, that is a great idea!"
"I know, he's going to love it!"
Rachel helps Liam push down on the cookie cutter and she smiles. "Look Sweetie! You made a cute little Christmas tree!" Rachel praises as she sees a giant grin spread across his face.
"He is just the cutest little boy in the whole entire world!"
"You don't have to tell me that one twice, you know?"
"Trust me, I know, I know that very, very well."
"Good."
In the morning Rachel tries not to get Liam up so early, but she can't help it, it's her baby boys' first Christmas.
"Merry Christmas Liam! Let's go and see Daddy, and then we can go open up all of your presents." She says .
"Merry Christmas, beautiful family."
"Merry Christmas Finn, you need your present from me."
"Okay."
Finn smiles when he sees his new tie that has his, Rachel's and Liam's initials on it.
"Rachel It's perfect! I love it."
"I knew you would."
"Time to give you yours."
Rachel loves her new black and white portrait of the three of them.
"It's lovely. How did you know this was exactly what I wanted?"
"I overhead you talking to Kurt."
"Of course."
Rachel helps Liam tear the paper off his gifts and smiles. She then starts singing the Twelve Days of Christmas. Finn joins in and they are all laughing. "Three French hens, two Turtle doves, and a partridge in a Pear Tree." They sing and Liam smiles at them. Best. Christmas. Ever.
