Disclaimer: I wasn't J. K. when I started writing this fanfic - and unfortunately I'm still not her. If its any consolation I woke up pretty disappointed about it as well.
I know, I know… I suck. But life - as it does all unsuspecting fanfiction writers with delusions of grandiose - punched me in the throat. Lol. I just went through a lot of changes and grappled with how to handle it all. This makes my life sound horrible but it was all really exciting and now that I'm on my Christmas break from classes I suddenly have all this time that I'm exicted to dedicate to my baby (or as normal people call it - my fanfic).
Hope you guys enjoy.
Chapter Eight: All The Wrong Reasons
"Merry Christmas!"
When Remus slowly pried his amber eyes open he was rewarded with the sight of a freshly showered Sirius, his hair still damp and clinging to the back of his neck.
"Morning," the exhausted boy grumbled blushing at such an early reminder as to why he was kept up so late.
Sirius grinned handsomely down at him before he sunk down beside the boy, leaning over as he breathed against Remus' neck, "Sleep well?"
Smiling horribly, Remus nodded as he pulled the sheets up a little closer to his chest. While he knew that Sirius had seen him in a T-shirt before, he himself could not get over the sight of his forearms littered with faded scars and scrapes over the years of his transformations. Seeing Sirius' own bare chest practically glistening in the morning light as water slowly dripping down his torso in a manner that really should've been strictly reserved for Mythological Greek Gods or those Muggle film actors only served to emphasize how greatly different they were.
"You're up early," he muttered reaching up to flatten his hair, his only real attempt at making himself look more presentable.
"Course," Sirius said. He raised both hands over his head and somehow managed to sink even deeper into Remus' beddings, "It's Christmas," he explained as he nodded towards the piles of presents at the end of Remus' bed.
Remus' heart faltered for a minute as it usually did at the thought of his parents having to spend any amount of money on him. He sincerely hoped that they'd taken his advice to pool both his and Romulus' Christmas present money to get Romulus a great graduation present, although judging from the brightly wrapped box at the end of his bed, a violent orange with awkward bits of what looked like flamingo feathers taped to the sides, they had not.
Sirius seemed to see this flaming excuse for a present and as he sat up and lunged for it his towel, that he seemed to find perfectly substitutable for real clothes, drooped dangerously low giving Remus a perfect glimpse of the strong, raise of his ass.
A dreadfully feminine squeak slipped out of Remus and by the time he dared to look at Sirius again the towel was back into place and Sirius was grinning at him like he'd just found one of Remus' tickle spots or something.
"Open it," he nodded as he settled down next to Remus again having pulled all of his presents over to him.
Slowly Remus opened the various presents from his parents, Romulus, Amlise, Lily, and a box of Bertie Bott's Every Flavour Beans from Susie Lee, a fourth year who he had briefly tutored in D.A.D.A.
Sirius eyed the box of Every Flavour Beans with a surprising degree of hostility when Remus offered him some and practically knocked the box out of his hand as he replaced it with two other presents. "From the guys," he said as Remus brushed his fingers against the boxes in curiosity.
The look of surprise on Remus' face that he clearly wasn't able to hide fast enough made Sirius chuckle slightly as he pulled Remus into his lap and spoke against his hair, "What? They're your friends too, you know."
Peter had given his a large, slab of chocolate from Honeydukes, the very same brand that he'd drooled over uncontrollably when Peter had first bought it and then shamelessly traded for a peek at his exam review the night before a Charms exam. The boy had also given him a miniature statue of a leprechaun that danced and bowed gracefully that he'd gotten from his trip to Ireland that Christmas.
Remus grinned softly as he blinked uncontrollably unable to believe that he'd meant enough to Peter for him to consider giving him such a thoughtful present. It was James' present however that forced him to clamp his hands over his mouth as he stared down at a basket of assorted chocolate goods from Honeydukes as well as a finely crafted badge. It had a large 'M' logo which represented the name they'd started calling themselves after Remus had caught them preparing to prank Snape and gotten uncharacteristically angry at them he'd stormed away angrily and screamed that they were, 'incurable Marauders' when Sirius had tried to approach him.
"I'll have to be sure to let James know that he shocked you to tears," Sirius said gently as he reached up and wiped at the few stray tears that had slipped past Remus' tightly shut eyes.
Remus felt Sirius brush his lips against first his cheeks, then nose, followed by his forehead, until finally he placed his lips gently on top of Remus' and kissed him until the tension in his face had eased and he felt the boy sighing softly against his lips.
"Mine's next," he said as he broke away from Remus still running his hands up and down his sides.
Nibbling on his lip again this time in sheer nervousness Remus ran his hand across the smooth metallic paper that covered the box that Sirius had handed him. Thankfully, he couldn't help but thinking, the present was small. The entire box was probably the width of Sirius' hand and as Remus slowly stripped the paper off to reveal a plain black box he couldn't help but make one desperate pleas to the powers that be that Sirius hadn't spent a dreadful amount on him.
"Oh," was all Remus was able to breathe once he'd snapped open the box and stared at the thick black chain coiled around the box, "Sirius...you didn't have to -"
"Hush" Sirius quieted him quickly before reaching over and pulling the black bracelet that laid in the middle of the silver cushion of the box, its body rounded and the middle lined with a thin strip of gold that made Remus' smile falter immediately, the ends of the bracelet were secured with a delicate golden clasp that were in the shape of two hands.
"This is the most masculine one I could find," Sirius said after a minute of silence as he reached around Remus to secure the bracelet on his hand. "I hope you won't take the piss but I thought it'd be nice to get you something you could wear."
Remus gazed down at the way that the delicately made jewelry rested against his thin wrist and was quiet for a moment before gazing into Sirius' almost anxious-looking face, "I – I don't…" he paused before smiling at him gently, "you know that I can't afford to get you anything like this, right?"
Sirius grinned his doggish smile before burying his face into Remus' neck and inhaling deeply enough to make Remus giggle as he twisted away from him. "It'll be enough to see you happy… and wearing something that I got for you."
"Pouf," Remus said with a soft expression as he shifted to place a delicate kiss on Sirius' smiling lips before he allowed Sirius to lean over him carefully covering his body with his.
"James and Peter liked your present," Sirius said as he walked into their dorm room clutching new letters from their friends. "And… James said that he sent Lily the present and she hasn't hexed him yet, that git."
Remus peaked out from the open door of the bathroom, brush still in hand as he reached up to flick the longest pieces of his hair out of his face. "Ugh – I need a haircut. How's Peter liking New York?"
"Says it's brilliant kept talking about all the different types of foods available and how the restaurants there are always open…imagine that?" Sirius said as he swiftly pulled off his sweatshirt over his head, bending over his truck to rummage for a more appropriate shirt. "Also, kept talking about 'street meat' something where they make food on the roads – doesn't sound too good to me but Peter kept on and on about it."
Remus smiled as he watched the boy from his bed, he'd changed quickly taking only marginally longer than he usually did to dress and when Sirius turned to face him Remus was struck by how handsome he was. His broad shoulders were accentuated perfectly by the dark coal silk shirt that clung effetely to his frame and instead of his normal jeans he wore a pair dark dress pants.
"You look nice, " Remus said smiling as he reached up to wrap his arms around Sirius' neck his eyes falling happily to the pendent that Sirius now wore around his neck – the dog star which hung on simple black, metallic chain – the Christmas present from Remus that Sirius had taken to wearing everywhere.
Sirius grinned reaching down to squeeze Remus' ass making the boy gasp suddenly and pull away from him slightly flushing deeply. While the two boys had had full frontal snogging sessions more times than Remus could now count and Sirius had left multiple bruises from his not always gentle bites on his neck and shoulders – the boys had pointedly avoided purposively touching each other's more sensitive areas.
"We'd better leave now. Before you really start distracting me," Sirius breathed against Remus' ear. Even though his words seemed typical of his confident nature when he leaned back Remus could see the uncertainty in his eyes as he swept Remus' face for signs of discomfort.
"Yeah, alright," Remus said laughing lightly before letting the boy lead him out of their dorm room.
Remus didn't think of much of it when Sirius had thrown his coat on before acting uncommonly chivalrously and holding out Remus' jacket and letting the smaller slip into it.
"Where are we going?" Remus decided to ask as Sirius lead them in the direction of the Quidditch pitch, while he enjoyed a good game as much as anyone else (and by this he meant normal people – which completely excluded both Sirius and James), he wasn't particularly interested in ushering in the New Years on the Quidditch pitch with his boyfriend.
"You'll see," Sirius said his face almost effortlessly slipping into that deranged lunatic grin that always warned Remus of trouble.
He managed to quench the sinking feeling in his stomach as Sirius aimed a number of impressive jinx at the broom shed storage and pulled out an extremely nice, very expensive looking broom, swinging it to rest over his shoulder before taking Remus' hand again and leading towards the direction of the forest.
The sinking feeling in his stomach now turned into a minimal burn and Remus could've sworn he heard an insistent voice telling him that whatever Sirius had planned for them was not a good idea, and that he should likely turn back to the castle and start revising his Potion work. Fortunately, this voice sounded eerily like his mother and in the moments it took him to wonder why his moral compass, his inner workings of right and wrong was made to sound like a scolding parent, Sirius had breached the edge of the forest and began to drag them into its depths.
"Sirius!" Remus hissed again, this time tugging a little on the hand that Sirius still had a firm grip on. "Where are we going?"
"Just a bit further come on, you'll see," Sirius said grinning back at him as he continued into the forest navigating it's rugged terrain and sloping branches with startling accuracy.
"The forest is dangerous, Sirius," Remus tried again, "I hope –" his voice in a rather telling way and he had to pause to clear his throat, "I hope you don't come here often."
Something about the tone of his voice must've startled Sirius because the boy turned to him suddenly to grasp his face in both hands looking into his eyes. "Relax. It's safe. You trust me, right?"
Remus blinked up at him for a minute, pausing while he thought of the time they'd spent together. Sirius had convinced him to sneak out more times than he ever had in his prefect life, they'd planned out an amazingly hilarious prank on the Slytherins and even managed to enhanced snowmen to chase first years through the Entrance hall. Aside from the things they did with the other boys Sirius had been extremely kind of him, they seemed to spend a lot of time snogging (although Remus had no real reference point for measure of snogging time), they also spent an increasing amount of time just lying next to each other talking – from the stupidest things, like how Peter's face had looked when an entire platter of chocolate cake had appeared before him at desert to how Remus wished that Romulus would be kinder to Sirius. Their relationship had really evolved in just a few weeks and Remus could say with certainty that, "Yes, I do trust you."
Sirius stared down at him for a minute with such a focused, intense look that Remus flushed slightly titling his head still in Sirius' grasp to check the boy's wristwatch hovering , "It's almost midnight, Sirius, we haven't got much more time."
"Right," Sirius murmured slightly before shaking his head and turning to continue leading Remus down the winding path of the forest.
The boys walked in silence, each seemed to be buried in their own thoughts until as if by some invisible signal Sirius stopped at the edge of a clearing.
Remus peered around his body to look into the small, grassy area. There was a small stream that ran to the far corner of the circular clearing and the grass appeared to be well trodden on, there was a patchwork of various flowers that enclosed the area.
"It's beautiful," Remus said finally as he walked past Sirius to step further into the closure. "How'd you find it?"
"One of my many detentions, James and I managed to lose Filch and stumbled upon this place while we were trying to avoid him," Sirius said as he bent down to peer at some of the colorful flowers that didn't seem the least bit perturbed that the ground was covered in a white sheen of frosted grass.
"This far in the forest?" Remus inquired leaning over the small stream to drink from it.
If Sirius thought it strange that someone as studious and slight as Remus who for appearance wise looked completely out of odds in the forest – seemed to immediately make himself so comfortable – he didn't show it.
"Little bugger was persistent," Sirius said smiling at him while he swung the broom over his shoulder and threw it before him. It hovered obediently and he swung his leg over it before throwing Remus a handsome smile and launching into the air.
He seemed to be built for the sky, Remus couldn't help but think as he watched the boy lean gracefully on the broom arching his back as the broom took him higher and higher towards the stars. In the next moment, he had leaned dangerously low towards one side of his broom and he came speeding back towards Earth but before Remus could even begin to worry his lower lip, he titled the handle of his broom slightly and evened out coming to circle Remus once before hovering before him.
"Your magic carpet awaits, my prince," he said with a cheekily grin in his eyes.
Scowling Remus rolled his eyes as he gripped the handle of the broom and slid on in front of Sirius, "It's a broom, you half-twit" he grumbled with half-hearted annoyance before allowing himself to learn onto the boy's back.
"Hush you, you're spoiling the romance of it all," Sirius complained before he slipped his left arm around Remus' waist pulling the boy even closer towards him until he was particularly in his lap and using his right hand to steer the broom slowly into the sky.
Sirius angled the broom to circle the small clearing and they drifted around a few times before either of them spoke, "It looks different."
Remus had titled his head to rest in the center of Sirius' chest and as they floated calmly around the clearly he had glanced up to stare at the moon hovering ominously above them, "It's funny – I've gotten so old and I don't think I've ever seen the moon like this. It looks almost pretty."
"It's very pretty, all big and round… like your eyes," Sirius said leaning forward to brush a chaste kiss on his head directly above his ears.
"Oh?" Remus said as he twisted slightly to look at Sirius over his shoulder, "you think I have pretty eyes, do you?"
Sirius laughed loudly shaking the entire broom as his body shook, "I think you have many pretty features, Remus."
Remus' smile stretched almost impossibly wide before he stroked Sirius' hand that still gripped the broom, steering them in gentle circles around the pitch, "Really? What else do you think is pretty?"
Remus was usually quite shy when it came to his appearance, as long as his scars didn't stretch to his face and he didn't lose a nose or an ear in his transformation he was happy, he'd never considered that his appearance could ever be considered physically appealing much less attractive.
"Well…" Sirius said as he brought his hand down to pick up a few pieces of Remus' brown strands, "I like your hair."
"Why?" Remus said pouting slightly, the gentle breeze of the wind and started to ruffle the pieces of hair that he'd meticulous tried to arrange earlier. "It looks like James'."
"Ughh – don't say that, love. It looks nothing like James' mop that he calls hair," Sirius said, "it's always soft…" he rubbed a few strands between his fingers before bringing his nose down and inhaling the boy's scent deeply. "And it smells wonderful…. Like vanilla, and chocolate, and… leaves."
Sirius pulled away slightly, the ingredients aren't too surprising but its weird for someone who spend so much time in libraries to smell so earthy.
Remus' answering smile didn't quite reach his eyes and when he spoke next his voice seemed a bit weak to his own ears, "I like your hair. All silky… and perfect, like every other part of you." Remus paused for a minute as he stared down at his hand rubbing against Sirius' gently. "I – I guess that was why it was so hard for me to believe that you wanted to be me – properly for a while. I kept thinking that this was just some fun you were having, I mean – I – look at me."
Remus couldn't see Sirius' expression because he'd hunched over the broom, leaning as far away from Sirius has possible, but felt as the boy rested his forehead on the back of his head, exhaling softly against his hair.
"It's kinda weird to hear that because I've always thought that you were attractive – even with your scars-"
Remus stilled for a minute they'd never discussed his scars and while Remus knew that Sirius had obviously seen them the boy had been careful to avoid touching them learning that Remus stiffened every time he realized that Sirius had spent time touching one of his imperfections.
"I mean it, Remus. I know you hate them, I can even understand why they make you self-conscious. But – I don't see a problem with them, honestly. You make them seem like they're a lot worse than they are," Sirius said. He reached up and pushed the collar of his shirt down gently giving Remus time to jerk away, when he didn't, he reached down and pressed a gentle kiss to his collarbone where a small scar began which spread to his abdomen.
"No one's ever said anything like that to me before," Remus said screwing up his features in an attempt to stop himself from doing anything obviously embarrassing – like crying. The hoarse quantity of his voice was already bad enough.
"I'm saying it now," Sirius said his breathe heavy against the shell of his ear, "and I mean it. I'm really happy with you."
Remus turned slightly but before he could answer, his eyes were drawn into the small clearing yet below them and he gasped in amazement as two unicorns dashed into the clearing.
"Sirius!" Remus whispered softly as he watched the creatures galloped around the area, the larger of the two would slow and turn towards its partner as the two joined they'd bump their horns together gently and stand on their hide legs.
"Oh, Sirius! How'd you know they'd be here?" Remus, like most other boys had never seen a unicorn much less this close and to see them mating – the mere magic of their presence lifting towards the heavens.
"I didn't … But I'd hoped."
The lights came next. Large explosions of dazzling colors and shapes erupted from the highest points of Hogwarts sharks and stars shooting out from miles in celebration of the New Year. Having nothing to obstruct their view, Remus was struck by the beautiful of it all – by the heat and the magic of the entire show.
"I'm really looking forward to spending this year with you," Sirius breathed softly in the crown of you.
"Me too. Happy New Years, Sirius." Remus leaned back and allowed Sirius to capture his lips in their first kiss of the New Year, his heart pounding heavily in his chest as he thought that for once, this year would be different.
The start of the term brought the reunion of the Marauders – the term had become much more endearing ever since James had taken to slinging his arm around Remus' shoulder and to cheer that for the 'success of the Marauders in the battle against evil' (with 'evil' of course, being the Slytherins).
James had been in a great mood since the start of term as he'd taken Remus' advice and had bought Lily a book of children's wizard stories, James had been skeptical that such a thing would impress her but he'd agreed to send her the book instead of the earrings that he'd been eyeing earlier.
It had came as a surprise to him (and the entire Gryffindor house) when Lily approached him during the Welcome Home feast and thanked him a rather curt voice for her present, her face seeming to curve almost against her will into a smile.
James' grin had been huge and he'd only been stopped from leaping to ask her to Hogsmeade by the swift kick that Remus aimed at his shin. Tearing up slightly he'd only nodded with pursed lips replying, "You're welcome, Lily."
She'd been shocked evident by the twitching of her fingers laying limp at her side – it seemed confused probably torn between its natural habit of reaching for her wand and doing something new – like hugging James.
She jerked her head shakily in his direction once before finally turning away and walking up the table to sit beside her friends.
"I expect she'll ask me out any day now," James said grinning at the others as he reclined with his head cradled in his hands. "Just you wait guys, I'll have to pry Evans off me soon enough."
"While I doubt that with every fiber of my being – and I do mean every, minuscule adam. I do think that you're making process. Making if you manage to avoid hexing first years in front of her she might actually do more than that awkward looking head nod when you see her," Remus said looking up from the book in his lap as he stroked his heads through Sirius' hair. The taller boy was sitting on the floor, leaning against the couch while he played chess with Peter and would push his head against Remus' knee every time he stopped stroking his dark locs.
"Down to the last adam?" James asked teasingly as he propped his foot up by the chess set.
"The very last X chromosome," Remus smirked at him. When he heard no reply he glanced up at James to see him staring transfixed at some point behind him.
"Hi Lily," he said without turning around, "Time for our rounds?"
"Yeah," came her calm voice behind him.
There was an awkward silence while Remus laid his book on the table next Sirius, surreptitiously brushing his lips against his ear as he bent over to ask him to return his book to the dormitory when he had a chance.
Throwing quick goodbyes to the seated boys, he exited with Lily desperate to flee before James had the opportunity to say anything stupid.
"They've changed," Lily said sometime later. They had just emerged from the dungeons and were headed back up the stairs. "Potter and Black aren't walking around cursing everything that moves."
"They couldn't carry on like that forever."
"True, but… I don't know. They seemed to have grown so much in a such short time. Even when they do pull pranks, it's almost funny now but nearly as cruel as it was before." Lily had turned to look at the thin boy her brow arching in question. "Know anything about that?"
Remus didn't blink. "Not a clue," he replied seamlessly.
"Don't lie," Lily said smiling at him softly, "you expect me to believe that they enchanted those snowmen by themselves? That's pretty advanced magic and while I don't doubt their ability, I'd bet the last strands on my head that Potter and Black did not go to the library to research the animation charm."
Lily had stopped walking now, her hands were placed firmly on her waist as she stared at him defiantly. Recognizing his imminent defeat, Remus shrugged, "They may have been pointed in the right direction. But you'll never get a confession out of me, ginger." He smiled at her before brushing his shoulder against her's lightly and making the left that would take them past the Ravenclaw common room.
"No. Don't get me wrong – I would never do that. It's just – I guess it's good."
Remus shifted to glance at her, she'd fallen in step beside him again and she now wore a soft smile on her pretty face.
"At first, I thought you were crazy to be hanging around those idiots –I was sure they'd corrupt you. But now… well, I guess I can see you that you've changed them. Not for the best which I still think is impossible but still, for the better."
Remus laughed mock squinting at her before titling his head, "Are you giving James a compliment?"
Lily clenched her jaw before exhaling slowly, "No. You're mistaken. I was making an observation that Potter and Black seem to be growing up. We might even have a chance of winning the House Cup this year."
Laughing Remus shook slightly as he bumped gently into Lily again almost forcing her into the wall as she laughed back and bumped him towards the other end of the corridor. They continued like this almost all the way down the hall until the sound of voices reached them and forced them to quieted.
"Do you think Sirius is still with her?" came a quiet anxious voice.
"Probably... Otherwise I think you'd have heard from him by now. Your new highlights are amazing by the way, Meggy," answered a second softer voice. Remus knew right away that it could be no other Zhilphia by the way she spoke in a almost lyrical way, no one else quite spoke like Zhilphia.
The two girls were walking towards them in the direction of the Ravenclaw common room, they either didn't care that they were out past curfew or just didn't seem to notice the two perfects standing there.
"What if he doesn't think I'm pretty?" Meghan said her whiny voice almost hurting Remus' ears even at a distance.
"How could he not? You guys have been sleeping together for months - he'll be back," Zhilphia said and even though she sounded quite kind Remus couldn't help but think she sounded slightly bored.
"Girls, you know you're out past curfew, right?" Lily said sternly frowning disapprovingly when they were able to get their first good looks at the two Ravenclaws. Zhilphia looks strange to say the least - she wore her uniform with a large purple shaggy sweater and a beautiful summer hat which appeared to be sprouting daises from the rim.
When Remus finally dragged his eyes away from the Zhilphia's hat, the daises had began swaying dangerously low to the base of her hat before leaning to the other side, he felt his stomach drop as he saw Meghan.
Meghan Pints was a sixth year Ravenclaw and while Remus had never taken particular notice of her, he suddenly realize that he didn't like her - at all.
She had a long coat which hung shamelessly open revealing - well, it pretty much revealed everything. She wore a short black dress with her round breasts hanging out from them, the dress (is that really what you called something so short?) clung to her thick thighs and stopped so short that Remus immediately averted his eyes scared that the longer he looked at it, the more he'd see.
"We know," Meghan snapped at her before brushing by them and continuing past them, "Where do you think we're going?"
"Well, why are you out at minutes to midnight, anyway? I'm assuming Professor Flitwick didn't want to see you in that get up?" Lily replied icily as she turned to follow them. Remus' throat felt strangely dry and so he simply followed them trying to notice how Meghan's heel had the effect of making her entire body sway and her long coat swish back and forth.
"I was suppose to have a date," Meghan said finally as she ran her hands through her thick caramel hair, "I was stood up."
"Well Pints, can't blame a guy for wanting more class. Five points each. Get back to your common room." Lily wrinkled her nose at the girl before nodding down the corridor in the direction of the common room.
"Ugh! Where do you think we were going? Stupid Mudblood," she spun to snap back at Lily her eyes flashing angrily as she took in Lily's still posture, "you pathetic excuse for a witch."
"She's top of the class," Remus had the mind to interject.
Meghan turned to him as if just noticing his presence before rolling her eyes and falling back in step with Zhilphia who had paused to watch them with a look of detached interest.
"It's okay, Meggy," the girl said finally as Meghan continued to stomp beside her, "It's not like he rejected you because you aren't beautiful - he's just seeing someone. But I know that Boots is interested and -"
"Boots?" Meghan said as she whirled towards her friend, "I don't want Boots. I want Black."
Remus sucked his bottom lip in between his teeth and turned to look at Lily, she was still fuming and her hand kept swaying dangerously close to her left pocket where Remus was sure she kept her wand.
They two perfects had fallen silent uninterested in getting into a verbal fight with a pissy Ravenclaw and had instead decided to accompany them back to their common rooms, Pints for all her intellect, appeared to be straight out ignoring them continuing her conversation as if they'd never joined her.
"I'll get him back," she said sulkily as she flipped her long straight hair over her shoulder.
Zhilphia kept quiet giving Remus the impression that maybe she had had lots of practice in dealing with Pints' fiery temper.
She sniffed loudly before continuing, "the bitch isn't even sleeping with him! I can tell - got hard in a second." She snapped her manicured nails as if to prove her point. "Although if she was all bitchy about them being exclusive then she's probably the type to want to wait," she sneered.
"There's nothing wrong with waiting," Zhilphia replied with a small smile on her face and if Remus hadn't been so focused on the back of Meghan's head he might've missed when she turned to flash them an almost apologetic grin.
"It is with someone like Black. You can't keep someone as sexy as him interested by holding his hand," she shook her head forcefully, "his body was built for sex," she trailed off a bit almost as if in remembrance and Remus had to clench his fist to his side to avoid slapping her upside her head.
"I'll get him back," she said again wipping at her suspiciously wet eyes and smudging her mascara in the process. "I mean - look at me," she threw her coat open and twisted slightly to allow them a view of her ass emphasized by the tight stretch of her dress. "Who wouldn't want me?"
She turned to answer the question the Ravenclaw bronze doorknob had asked her before throwing one final smirk behind her towards Lily, "you might want to take notes, Evans. Maybe then even you could get a boyfriend," before stalking into her common room.
Zhilphia followed at a more subdued pace after shrugging to them slightly and nodding as she sung out, "Goodnight."
Lily stared after them for a minute, shaking her head before she spun on her heels and headed back down the hall. "Drunk slut," she declared finally as her pretty features scrunched up into a pout.
Remus should've probably agreed with her but all he could do was grunt in reponse, this seemed sufficient because Lily began whispering furiously under her breathe about stupid Ravenclaws and how they didn't have enough brains or values to know not to throw themselves at guys who clearly didn't give two rats tails about them.
Remus faded out at this point, he had no doubt that Sirius did not care about Meghan Pints. There was never anything that suggested that maybe he had harboured some life long burning crush for the beautiful, but overly bitchy Ravenclaw - but he couldn't help but wonder if his dark haired boyfriend would not end up making the mistake of falling victim to her shallow attractiveness.
Because as annoyed as Remus was with her - he couldn't deny that she was extremely attractive - she certainly seemed to know it and if what she said was any indication she also knew how to use it.
Sirius had been hard, Remus thought his heart sinking at the idea of Pints rubbing up against him enough to encourage that kind of reaction.
It hurt. It hurt to know that Sirius had found someone else attractive, had gotten hard for someone else and while Remus knew he didn't exactly have the right to feel angry with the boy - he'd obviously turned her away effectively for her to have gotten so pissed off. It scared him to know how close Meghan had gotten to seducing his boyfriend.
Maybe she was right, he thought some time later as he bid farewell to Lily and began climbing the stairs to the boys dormitory, maybe he was making Sirius wait too long.
Remus hadn't particularly thought that he was moving too slowly with Sirius. He'd noticed that the boy regularly got hard while they were snogging and usually had to excuse himself to disappear into the bathroom where he'd emerged a few minutes later wet with cold water and smiling sheepishly at Remus before collapsing into his bed and pretending like nothing had happened.
Should they be moving faster than they were? Remus really had no point of reference - he was a virgin who had only kissed one other person before Sirius and didn't really know much about anything.
Sirius had never seemed impatient, he had never grabbed at Remus or tried to push him into doing things he wasn't ready, he was amazingly patient. And - Remus glanced at the boy's bed to find him sleeping, his limbs thrown hazardously around him as he drooled into his pillow - Remus trusted him a lot.
He wanted to stay with Sirius and he wanted to let the boy touch him and teach him new things, I'll be damned if I lose him to Pints, he couldn't help but think furiously as he stared at his boyfriend, exhaling he flushed silently as he made his decision all alone in the dead of night.
He was going to give Sirius his virginity.
How was it? I expect it was a bit awkward cause I'm coming back from a long break - although I know that my next chapter will be even more akward. It'll be my first time writing anything like it and I'm not exactly sure how it'll turn out. Ughh. Wish me luck.
