3rd person POV

Last Chapter: Raplh fired his weapon on Mindy, then after that it was pure blackness for Mindy.

In reality, Dave had thrown something at Ralph, throwing his aim off. The bullet hit a weak piece of wood in the apartmentthey were in. The piece of wood broke away and hit Mindy on the head, causing her unconsciousness. Ralph took his chance and ran towards the open door of the apartment, racing down the many stairs to his car outside. Dave didn't hesitate, he picked Mindy up, threw her across his shoulder, and bolted out the open door. He flew down the stairs and ran outside as he reached the bottom of the building. Ralph was already getting in his car, so Dave ran to his Camaro. He put Mindy in the passenger seat and strapped her in. He closed Miondy's door and rolled over the hood of his car to his side and jumped behind the wheel. The car was already on, all he did was put it in gear and sped off. They arrived at yet another warehouse and saw Ralph run had managed to wake Mindy with his reckless driving. She was now fully awake and aware of her current situation. Dave and Mindy jumped out of the car, leaving it on in case they needed to get away fast, and ran inside the warehouse.

Ralph saw them approaching and sent his best hired hitters to take care of his problem. The men ran down the scafflod to the ware house doors and waited for their targets to enter. Dave and Mindy hesitated briefly before running in and were almost instantaneously engaged in combat. The guys were big andbulky and swung punches with all their might. Dave had been punched so many times in his secret life of being Kick-Ass but these guys were a huge difference from the criminals he was used to fighting. Honestly, it like they were on fucking steroids with the sheer force of their punches. The first punch that landed on him drew blood and the second nearly broke something.

Currently, Kick-Ass was being pummeled into a wall to which Dave's rage over took him and he sent out a punch strong enough to send the man-giant to the ground. Mindy was fighting three assassins at the same time. At first she thought her training was superior to the low life hitters, but was proved wrong when one guy landed a punch to her jaw. It was very rare Mindy got touched in a scrape and even rarer that she was sent to the ground from said touch so as you can tell, Mindy was furious. She punched a guy in the gut and kicked one on the soft spot/pressure point behind another guy's knee. The third guy charged at her but Mindy's senses were so finely tuned that she stuck her arm out to his face and he ran smack into her palm. The blow hit the guy on the nose causing the shock to travel up to his brain and kill him.

"Shit" Hit-Girl said under her breath.

She turned her attention to see if Kick-Ass noticed when she saw a monster of a guy running up behind Dave.

"Kick-Ass!" She screamed, "Look out!"

Dave turned around to a punch in the jaw. Thanks to his fucked up nerve endings, the punch didn't hurt as much as it should have. Dave smiled and palmed him under the nose, killing him the same way Mindy had killed that other guy. He smiled at her and mouthed something.

'Accident'

Mindy laughed silently and turned back only to bend backwards and dodge a punch. She straight kicked the guy in the face and ended up breaking his nose. He fell backwards and never got back up again. The superhero duo regrouped and stood back to back as more guys came only to have their asses handed to them. After the majority of the unarmed guys came and failed, Ralph sent his armed men and instructed that they kill them off or the same fate would come to them. The men rushed into a truck parking garage and opened it up. They fired through a small gap under the huge door.

"Pussies" Mindy yelled.

Luckily, a truck was in the way of the bullets so Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl were unphased and continued fighting the unarmed ground forces. After they were all downed, Mindy drew her pistol and set up to line her sights on the armed 'soldiers'. Dave reached up into his back and pulled out a glock. Mindy raised her eyebrows.

"You never know" He said.

Mindy just rolled her eyes at him and re-aimed her weapon. Finally, the guys had the balls to pull up the door seperating the two teams and began open firing. They had full-automatic weapons and Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl had semi-auto pistols. It took them awhile to realize they weren't even shooting at them, they were shooting at the truck that they were hiding behind. The hood of the car caught fire and they only had seconds before it blew up. The duo quickly and desperately tried to jump out of the way to avoid getting blown to smithereens. Mindy dolphin dived behind a concrete road block and Dave dived into a spare room. They didn't have to wait long until the heard the BOOM of the explosion. Mindy was able to pop up shortly after the explosion and toss a grenade where the enemies were. They were still in shock from the previous explosion and neither one of them saw the grenade roll in. Another boom and they were all wiped out. Dave and Mindy let their guard down for the time being.

"Good job" Dave said, impressed.

"Thanks, now let's go catch that douchebag" Mindy said as she running up to the scaffold stairs.

They were stopped by the sound of footsteps on the metal railings. They looked up and saw a guy with a sniper. The duo started to slowly creep back to the truck and be able to pick him off from a safe place.

"Hey!" They heard him cry out.

They bolted to the safety of the car and both pulled out their weapons. They nodded once before they split up to either side of the truck and simultaneously popped up and fired in their direction. Incredibly, they both missed. Mindy looked over at Dave and saw how good he looked battered and bloody and a determined expression on his face. She got so distracted she forgot she was directly in the sniper's line of fire. Dave saw this and ran over to Mindy and jumped in front of her just as the sniper let his round free. The bullet hit Dave straight in the chest and knocked him back into Mindy. She regained her blurry vision and picked up her pistol and blindy fired at the scaffold. Remarkably the bullet found its mark in a fatal spot on the insurgent. She looked down and a wounded Dave and saw the blood leaking from his chest. Tears pricked the corners of eyes as she desperately tried to wake Dave up. She couldn't accept that Dave was dead nor would she ever. She tried to put pressure on his wound, tears still streaming down her face, and tried to desperately to revive her downed friend.

"No, no you can't be dead, you can't!" She screamed, still trying to breathe the air into his lungs.

She couldn't pump his chest because of the wound so she had to settle for mouth-to-mouth. Even though it was such a serious situation, she couldn't help but marvel at the taste of his lips. She subconsciously wanted to do this for the longest time. Just as she was about to give up, medics, police and firefighters rushed in and started cleaning up the scene. Medics immediately rushed to the fallen heros side and started tending to Dave's unresponding body.

"We need to get him to the ICU quick, he's in critical condition" yelled one paramedic.

That's all Mindy remembered before she passed out. She woke up shortly after in an ambulance and her immediate thought was 'Dave'. She shot up from her gurney and stepped out of ambulance. All of a sudden, a detective car pulled up to her and stopped. The door opened and to her surprise out stepped Marcus. She had never felt so many mixed emotions. Her best friend in the whole world died and the person she least wanted to see showed up.

'Ugh...' She thought.

"Mindy, are you alright" Marcus asked, his voice full of concern.

"What do you care" She spat.

"I care because up until you left, I was your father" Marcus said, raising his voice up an octave.

"You may have taken care of me in my time of need, but you never repected what I wanted to be. You never even
thought about how protecting this city made me feel like my daddy was still with me. You never gave me a chance
to show you how much being a superhero meant to me...and for that I will never ever consider you my father" Mindy admitted, walking away to a nearby paramedic.

She tapped the young girl on the shoulder. "Excuse me, do you know where Dave Lizewski is?"

"Yes, he's getting ready to leave to the hospital, are you family?" She asked.

"I'm his girlfriend" She lied.

"Right this way" the paramedic led Mindy to an ambulance and helped her inside. She closed the double door and
tapped the side, giving the signal to drive off.

After 5 minutes of driving, they arrived at the hospital. The paramedics rushed Dave out of the ambulance and
called for multiple doctors. They took him into an operating room and left me outside in the waiting room.
After awhile I fell asleep waiting for the doctor.

SO YEAH, I THINK I JUST KILLED OFF DAVE. I WASN'T REALLY TRYING TO DO THAT BUT OH WELL F.I.S.H. RIGHT? ANYWAYS I WANTED TO SAY AGAIN I'M SO SORRY FOR THE LATE UPDATE, I NEEDED A NEW USB TO SAVE MY STORIES CUZ MY OTHER ONE WAS FILLED TO THE BRIM. SORRY AGAIN BUT I HOPE I'M FORGIVEN FOR MAKING A SOMEWHAT LONG AND EVENTFUL CHAPTER SO ANYWAYS KEEP ON READING AND PLEASE REVIEW! SORRY! I DIDN'T REALIZE HOW LONG ITS BEEN! I'VE BEEN SOO BUSY!
