Okay so once again it took me forever to update...I don't really have any excuses except for the usual trying to get readjusted to school thing. I would say that I will update a lot sooner next time but as that doesn't seem to work I will just say that I will try my best.
It had been almost a month since JJ had found out about Emily and things had been really hectic since. JJ and Morgan had been slammed with back-to-back cases as well as trying their hardest to always be there for Emily despite her claiming that she was fine. She had protested every little thing they had done for her until JJ had exploded and told her to sit down, shut her mouth, and accept whatever they wanted to do for her. Emily had been so shocked by the usually mild-mannered blonde's outburst that she had actually listened and JJ and Morgan were considering it a victory because she had waited a whole ten minutes before she started arguing again.
By now the team could definitely tell that something was up with the two of them so they had also spent the last month trying to avoid any personal conversations with the team, especially Garcia who never knew when to quit. It was hard on them to keep quiet but it was what Emily wanted. Keeping the secret brought back a lot of bad memories for JJ of the whole Doyle fiasco but she hoped that the team would have a better reaction to being kept in the dark this time.
It was now the day of Emily's big surgery and she was flipping out. She had tried pacing but her body was too weak to keep up the movements so now she was sitting on the couch tearing up her nails. Morgan and JJ were watching her nervously from the other side of the room as they tried to figure out whether it would be better to try and comfort her or to let her sort out her emotions by herself. Finally Derek came to a decision and walked over to sit beside her on the couch, grabbing her hand as a silent show of support. It was exactly what Emily needed in that type of situation and they sat like that, not moving or talking, until JJ finally announced that it was time to go.
By the time they got to the hospital Emily was a nervous wreck and the other two weren't much better. They all went back to talk to the surgeon and start the prep before JJ and Derek were kicked out and sent to the waiting room to wait out the surgery. Dr. Miscont checked in with Emily to make sure she was alright before they put her under anesthetic. She was then wheeled down to the OR and stayed there for the next three hours as the surgeons fought to rid her body of the cancerous cells within it.
Okay I know this is a short one but it is more of a filler chapter. The story is slowly coming to an end but I'm stuck ont one part and need help! The team will find out next chapter but I'm not sure whether it will be better if she tells them or they find out on their own or through other means (like Morgan or JJ).
Once again I know nothing about Breast Cancer so most of this is made up...
