Hello! I am so sorry for the lack of updates but I will not have a scheduled time for updates anymore. Senior year is here and I have to buckle down to get into college. I am NOT abandoning this. I love this story too much.
In other news, apparently all the fanfiction messages are being sent to my junk mail. I wondered why there were no story updates from the stories I followed.
Jack was so happy right now. He had a wonderful time with his bunny when Aster brought him a special picnic before going down his tunnels to do 'Unnecessary Easter things' as Jack liked to call them. After that Jack visited his favorite kids to play until everyone was sweating and collapsed on the ground.
Now Jack was admiring the scenery as he walked. Spring had taken over everywhere. It was in the warm air, wet sidewalks, and blooming life. Despite being the spirit of winter, Jack appreciated spring too. Even more so now that he had a boyfriend that was a spring spirit.
"Jack! Jack! Wait up." Jack froze at the voice coming behind him before calling wind to take him above the beautiful green trees.
"Eberlein." Jack glared at his ex-suitor. The groundhog twitched at the use of his last name but just pasted a smile of his face.
"Jack. Good to see you. How are things?" Jack just stares at Averett with blinding fury in his eyes.
Averett sighs "I'm sorry. What I did was very wrong. Let me make it up to you. Take me on ONE date, not has a suitor but as a friend. After that I will release my suitor claim on you."
Jack huffs "Why should I trust you now? For a groundhog you sure act like a snake!"
Averett held his paws in defensive manner, "I just want to prove I'm a good guy!"
Jack, with his ever kind soul, saw a glimmer of truth in the groundhog's beady eyes. "ONE date, and it must be something nearby and in public. After that you will remove your claim as my suitor."
Averett almost growled that the busy tone from the omega but he just nodded. "Well then, follow me."
Jack warily floated after the groundhog as he led him to a park in the middle of the current city that Jack had been visiting. Jack landed where he thought Eberlein had gone, swirling around when he hears a loud exclamation.
"Where did my pretzel go?! It was just here!" A woman looks around her bench before sighing and walking off dejected. Jack heard someone clear their throat and he spun around to see the groundhog offering him a fresh pretzel.
Jack snorted "Did you just?" Eberlein just smiled in response and Jack took the offered food and opened his mouth to take a bite before pausing. "This doesn't mean anything right?"
Jack wasn't stupid to trust a backstabber completely yet. Eberlein looked hurt but quickly reassured Jack. "No. Not at all, in fact I'm courting another spirit right now."
Jack smiled brightly at that and relief was evident in his voice. "That's wonderful news!" They settled in the grass under a tree and started talking, making small talk. Only two hours, more or less, of talking made Jack stand and stretch his arms above his head.
"Well, it's time I was off. Have a pleasant evening, Eberlein." Jack grinned at the flinch at the use of the name Eberlein.
Averett smiled weakly at Jack "I'm glad we got that dealt with. I renounce my claim as a suitor. I was in it to make Bunny mad anyway, and –no offense- but you are a little too immature for me. I would say that I would see you again but to be frank, I rather not. At least for another century."
Jack just smiled innocently, long used to people not liking him, and, when Eberlein was wasn't looking, icing up a spot to make him fall. Jack then took to the air, rushing wind so he could go tell Bunny the good news.
I am pre-writing the rest of the story and it's almost done!
