#14: Absol cleans his fur as he lays in a heap on the ground. He is annoyed that that damned bird killed his crew and reverted him back to his solitary self. It is going to be hard surviving alone, especially when everyone else on the island wants to kill him. Who else is there? There are too many animals of little significance for him to remember. He vaguely remembers some kind of large, icy animal. Was that #19: Cryogonal? Cryogonal doesn't pose a threat, however.
Absol gets to his feet and marches off in search of a new hiding location. But, as he tramps away, Gengar watches from afar, floating abreast of a waterlogged Umbreon. They nod to each other, relieved that Absol finally let them alone.
The disaster animal continues through the woods hungrily. Maybe, if he can find Cryogonal, he can take it out easily. But what is there to eat on it? It's made of ice. "Ice!" Since the waterhole Absol previously resided near is probably crawling with thirsty enemies by now, Absol needs to find a new source of water. Cryogonal would be an ideal source. Alas, Absol is more hungry than he is thirsty, making Cryogonal not as much a priority. Maybe he could eat the children? Absol shakes his head. Even he is too dignified to harm innocent kids. Besides, Sceptile and that annoying, nagging kangaskhan would stomp him in no time. That is, if Sceptile and Kangaskhan had grouped up after Miltank's death.
Who else is there? Lucario? "Wait." Absol hits himself for being so forgetful. Braviary has probably claimed Lucario's body. "Dammit! I was about to eat that lucario, too—oof!" He stumbles back after bumping into something. He looks around but sees nothing. He is in a sunlit portion of the forrest that is dominated by bright green moss. The moss is all he sees. Suddenly, a brown object is lifted into the air miraculously by itself. Absol frowns, trying to understand what is taking place. The object swiftly makes its way towards Absol, striking him in the jaw. He howls as he retreats from further harm, but accidentally falls on his side. The object, which looks like a wooden nightstick, follows and relentlessly starts bashing at Absol's head. Absol snarls and bats the stick away, lurching to the left and assuming a semi-fighting stance.
His assailant is invisible. The assailant knows Absol is aware of its presence, so it hurls the stick at Absol and hits him in his snarling maw. He cries out and buries his face in the crook of his forearm in agony. He removes his forearm and opens his mouth, just to watch as several jagged teeth cascade down in a stream of blood and saliva. He looks up as a feral rage consumes him. He's lost track of the assailant, but he can smell it among the stench of blood and bad breath.
Absol looks frantically in all directions while guarding the nightstick beneath him. He waits for the next attack. He hears a rustle in some nearby ferns, but pretends to ignore it. He has to choose a good time to counterattack. He counts to five before whirling around, swiping at the air. He misses, but he can see the ferns moving. He no longer smells the invisible assailant.
He flops down on the moss, suddenly losing all his vitality. His face is bruised badly and his mouth may never be able to serve him again. Maybe that's karma for what he'd done to Miltank.
Before he loses consciousness, he hears a sonic boom rip through the sky, followed by a blast in the earth's crust not too far away. A booming voice is later heard, reverberating throughout the island.
"Good morning, everyone. I pray that you can all hear me loud and clear, for this is some important information!"

a/n: Sorry about the short chapter. I needed it to introduce a little more of the characters that will make a more important appearance in the next chapter, which is already written and is a big one. I'll upload it either Wednesday or Thursday.
Also, if you're interested, I recently came across another fic here on the site, much similar to this one, although it is more of a crossover between Pokémon and Hunger Games. It's funny and tragic and cruelly realistic. It's called The Ninety-Ninth Pokémon* Games I think. (*It may be Hunger instead of Pokémon. I'll add it to my favorites soon, so you can get to it from there.) I love it, and you all should read it and show that author your support.
Don't forget to show me your support too. ;)
