Chapter 1
The first thing she felt was... well... nothing. She couldn't feel anything. So she did what any normal shinobi would do: listen for any foreign sounds.
Nothing.
Wait, there's something.
Someone else's breathing.
Sounds like that person's asleep
"Now where am I? Guess I'll have to open my eyes." As she opened her eyes, she noticed that everything was white.
Shit.
She was in the hospital.
She hated hospitals.
She heard the breathing again, and with some effort, she turned her head to see who it was.
Oh, it was only Gai...figures he would be here.
She tried to sit up, but as she tried, she felt a sharp pain in her abdomen and let out a surprised gasp.
This woke Gai up.
"My lovely flower of youth, you should not strain yourself!" he said in his usually loud voice.
"I'm perfectly fine, Gai, just...off" she replied, "What happened?"
"You do not remember? You were on a mission and I found you unconscious and bleeding, so I carried you here."
"And when exactly was that, Gai?" she said with a harsh look at him.
Naturally, he didn't notice and states "You have been here for a week."
"A week. A WEEK" she yelled.
"Calm down, Keikoku once the medic-nin comes in, you can leave."
"Thank Kami for that."
She pressed the nurse button on her remote next to her bed, and a nurse walked into the room about five minutes later. After the medic deemed Keikomu was able to go, she left.
"Why are you still here? You know I can take care of myself." she asked as Gai helped her out of the bed.
"Because you are my old teammate and friend." he said doing his 'nice guy' pose.
When she was standing, Gai let go of her, and then a split-second before she crashed toward the floor she noticed what she couldn't feel.
Her legs.
She was paralyzed from the waist down.
