Chapter 13: Anger Towards Zavok

The Zeti ran back to the Lava Mountain Zone and bumped into Zeena. He looked at her, still crying, and hugged her tightly. Zeena was in shock at the hug, she didn't know what to do or say to teenaged Zeti. She was frozen. Yet when she noticed he was crying she frowned and the other Zeti came over too.

Zeena coughed as to let Zonic know she wanted to speak, "Zonic, why are you suddenly...crying?" She wasn't concerned for him she was just curious like the others.

Zonic sniffed and looked at him. "It's...Zavok."

Zeena's frowned deepened. What made the new Zeti suddenly upset about their leader. Zeena pried the crying Zonic off her and looked to the others and then back at him. "Why exactly are crying about Zavok?"

Zonic didn't know how to explain. Obviously, they didn't know if Zeena had no clue. He just couldn't take the lies anymore. "I can't take it," he said. "My whole life has been a lie. Zavok told me that..."

He stopped, wondering if he should tell them. But then he would be telling them Zavok's biggest secret and other than that...would they believe him? He was new to the Deadly Six and he was still getting the hang of thing, but because they knew Zavok longer and better they may not believe Zonic.

"I...I'm not sure if you will believe me if I told you."

Zonic really didn't know what to do. He wished his friends were alive. They would help him through this, but they weren't. Zonic then, heard a noise behind him and knew Zavok had caught up to him. Zonic was nearly at his breaking point again. He just couldn't take it.

"Keep away from me," he shouted.

Zeena frowned and looked at Zavok. "Zavok, what is going on here?" she asked. He looked at her and then to all the others in the Deadly Seven. He didn't want to tell them, but with Zonic as the way he is it looked like he didn't have a choice.

"I...I told Zonic the truth about his origins," the Zeti leader said. "He wasn't born on Earth. He was born on this planet as a Zeti, and he's my son."

The rest of the Zeti stared at Zavok in shock and then at the crying and shaking Zonic. Zazz jumped up and shouted, "WHAAAAATT!?"

Zonic nodded. "It...it's true."

Zeena looked at Zavok, eyes wide, "How come you never told you had a son and that it was...him?" Zeena pointed at Zonic and the teenage Zeti looked down, shaking still.

Zavok thought about it for awhile and then sighed. "I don't know," he said.

Zonic glared at him. He had had just about enough. His whole life had been a lie. He didn't know what else was anymore. His friends were dead so no one could comfort him. He was alone in this.

"Why didn't you tell me?" He yelled. "My whole life has been a lie! I'm not from Earth as I originally thought, and no one is comforting me right now! I feel like I'm all alone! If you were such a good father, then you would have never tried to kill my friends and would have helped me instead!"

Zavok didn't know what to say as he saw the angry expression on his blue son's face. He growled and turned around, stomping away from the five Zeti and his Father.

Zeena watched as Zonic left and then glared at Zavok. "You didn't tell us you had a son let alone him and now he's angry at you," Zeena told him.

"Indeed. If you had told him, he would not be so angry at you and wouldn't hold a grudge," Master Zik said.

Zavok stared at Master Zik in shock. Zonic was holding a grudge toward him. That made things worse for him. He didn't want his only son to hate him. Not after all the anger and pain they've experienced in both of their lives.

"Why is he doing this?" He asked.

"It is most likely because you helped destroyed Earth with us, and he spent his life thinking that was his home planet."

"His friends were also on that planet and we mechanized another one of his friends and he seemed really angry about that. He must have had a strong connection to that fox. And who knows...there may have been someone on Earth he liked," Zeena explained.

Zavok's eyes widened. "I never thought about that."

Zomom looked at him, as did Master Zik and Zazz. They had never seen this side of their leader before. It was strange yet it may have been expected when just finding that he has a son and that son used to be their enemy and now was a part of the Deadly Seven.

"Are we going to go find him?" Zeena asked, folding her arms.

"I know where he is," Zavok said, and ran off as the other Zeti followed.
