Chapter 19: The Remaining Chaos Emeralds

When Zonic walked out of the base he only just realized what he had done. He killed someone. He just killed Eggman. He looked at his hands with horrified eyes. He hesitated and closed his eyes, deciding it was for the best. Eggman was his enemy, after all. Now that that was done, they needed to find the rest of the Chaos Emeralds. He opened his eyes, looking back at the demolished base and then at the other Zeti.

"Eggman is dead and Lost Hex is safe once again," he said. "Now all that is left is to find the Chaos Emeralds."

He took in a heavy breath and then let it out and began to head out. He took out the grey Chaos Emerald he had and tried to concentrate on the other emeralds energy. A vision came to him and he saw the location of the rest of the emeralds, which were on Lost Hex as well as Earth. Zonic widened his eyes and looked at the Chaos Emerald in his hand and then at the other Zeti. How would he get the emeralds that were on Earth without dying?

He looked at Zavok. "Is it possible to go to Earth even as a Zeti?"

Zavok shook his head. "We have never been to Earth. You could call the Chaos Emeralds to you using that emerald."

Zonic looked at the emerald, thinking about it. If he did that, where would be the fun and adventure in it? He looked at his father, wondering what to do. He could call the emeralds on Earth, and then look for the rest on Lost Hex. He thought that would be the best option since he couldn't go on Earth because of what happened. Zonic closed his eyes and tried to summon the Chaos Emeralds. A bright light flashed from the two emeralds.

"I forgot to mention," Zavok said. "When the Zeti created the Chaos Emeralds, they gave us the power to turn into Chaos Emeralds. We barely use that ability, though. You could use that to sense the other emeralds more easily."

The new Zeti nodded and summoned the Chaos Emeralds from Earth. He felt the emeralds power growing stronger as he felt the connection grow, until three hit him in the back of the head. Zonic groaned and turned around to see the green, cyan and yellow emeralds lying on the ground.

Zonic grinned and picked them up. "Alright," he said. "Let's find the others." He began to head away from the demolished base and the other Zeti, wanting to find the other emeralds. "We need to find the last two emeralds," Zonic said. "Can we install an emerald tracker into Mecha Tails?" The Zeti looked at each other hesitantly. Zonic turned to them, folding his arms, thinking they either didn't know how...or something else.

Zeena looked at Zonic with a small smile, "We...don't know how to install...an emerald tracker into Mecha Tails."

That when the teenage Zeti's mouth dropped. "Why did you offer to do so, then, if you can't do it?" Zonic asked.

Zeena looked at Zavok, who looked down. He didn't know to say to Zonic.

"Well, if we can't do that, how will we track the other two emeralds?"

Zeena looked at Zavok, biting her lower lip. "Ummm..."

"We could use the other emeralds to track the remaining two," Master Zik said.

Zonic nodded and closed his eyes, focusing on the emeralds' power. But for some reason, they wouldn't allow him to connect with them. He growled and tried again, but the same thing happened. He sighed and looked at the other Zeti, guessing they would have to search for the other two emeralds on their own.

"I'll look around for them," he said. "Although that may take some time. Didn't you say I could sense them by becoming a Chaos Emerald?"

Zavok nodded. Zonic thought about it. He'd do that later. The teenage Zeti smirked and ran off, looking for the other Chaos Emeralds. Soon, he came to Frozen Factory and looked around.

Zonic looked around, seeing the snow covering the ground and his feet going into it. Icicles were hanging by the buildings columns as he walked, water dripped from it. He sighed and closed his eyes, wondering if he could sense the Chaos Emerald.

He looked around and sniffed the cold air. He opened his eyes and saw a purple glow from behind a column from underneath the snow. Zonic grinned and brushed off the snow, then picked the Chaos Emerald up and ran back to Lava Mountain. Once he got there, however, he felt another emerald nearby. The Zeti grinned and ran to where the emerald was. He walked behind a rock and the red Chaos Emerald. He picked it up and blew on it as it was covered in dust.

Now they had all seven. Zonic smiled and walked back to the other Zeti, placing the Chaos Emeralds in a circle. They lifted off the ground and started spinning, hovering in the air. A few seconds later, a portal appeared. Zonic smirked and then thought about what they should do. He should go alone, so as to avoid any trouble if they came along and it'd be easier to get in tell her and then get her as well.

"I'll be back soon," he told the other Zeti, and then jumped into the portal.
