Our First Kiss
I rolled around in the sheets and hit a warm body lying on my bed, jolting my eyes open. Derek's green eyes looked back at mine and my heart skipped a beat. He smirked and I knew that he had heard it. My eyes drifted down to his bare chest and my blood ran cold, then my eyes drifted to my chest that was only covered by a sheet, making my blood turn to ice.
"Oh my god," I gasped.
His smirk got bigger and he tilted my chin up to-I shot up from my bed gasping for breath, looking around, only to find myself alone. Letting out a sigh, I got up from the bed and grabbed a long sleeve grey thermal, matched with a pair of jeans and green converse. After getting dressed, I grabbed a breakfast bar and smoothie, running out in fear of being late. Driving alone was something I was used to, so the music was cranked up playing Rise Against. I pulled into the parking lot and went to my locker, not bothering to look for Scott or Stiles.
"So, you killed her?" Stiles voice caught my attention.
I brushed my hair behind my ear and listened close.
"I don't know, I just woke up and I was sweating like crazy, and I couldn't breathe. I've never had a dream where I woke up like that before," Scott replied.
"Really, I have, usually ends a little differently," Stiles stated, making me snicker.
"'A,' I meant I've never had a dream that felt that real, and 'B' never give me that much detail about you in bed again," Scott clarified.
I cringed and turned back to my locker, directing my attention elsewhere. When I looked up, Jackson was down the hall trying to figure out what happened to his locker. I choked back a laugh and shut my own locker gently and heading to class. Mr. Harris set up the notes for us to copy and I began to copy furiously, not seeing who sat next to me.
"Can I borrow a pencil?" my neighbor asked.
I nodded and grabbed one, placing it next to me for the other person. I looked up slightly and saw Jackson looking at me intently. I turned my attention back to the board and shook my head as Scott and Stiles got separated. My eyes drifted up towards Scott's back and I caught his gaze fixed on me; he turned back quickly and began to copy the diagram.
"Hey, I think they found something!" a girl in my class exclaimed.
They all stood quickly and scurried over to look out the window. I sat still and craned my neck, faking interest but not really wanting to see. Stiles and Scott began to exchange glances and whisper something to each other, once again leaving me in the dark. I groaned inwardly and shook my head before tugging at the sleeves of my thermal.
Finally, lunch came and I was making my way to Scott, Stiles and I's usual lunch table. The two of them were making their way over to our table and I sat, followed by them. Stiles dropped his tray next to me and I popped a grape in my mouth before giving them my attention.
"What makes you so sure that Derek even has all the answers?" Stiles asked, slinging an arm around my shoulders.
"Because, during the full moon, he wasn't changed, he was in full control while I was attacking a totally innocent guy," Scott whispered.
"You don't know that," I interjected.
"I don't not not know it," Scott argued, "I can't go out with Alison, I have to cancel."
"Look no, you're not canceling, ok Scotty? You can't just go around canceling your entire freaking life, you don't see me doing that," I spoke.
"Thanks," Alison said as she sat next to Scott.
I turned my attention back to my lunch and began to eat my grapes once more. Looking across Stiles, I saw Danny glaring uneasily at him.
"So, Danny, are we still hanging out this weekend?" I asked.
"I don't know, are you going to cancel again?" he spat.
I was taken aback and opened my mouth to reply when Jackson walked over.
"Get up," Jackson instructed.
"How come you never ask Danny to get up?" Greenberg asked.
"Because I don't stare down his girlfriend's coin slot," Danny said simply as he bit into his apple.
"Here, you can have my seat," I said as I left the table.
After getting up, I dumped my trash in the bin and walked out. My converse slapped quietly against the tiles of the hall and I jammed my hands into my front pockets. I spun at the sound of a heartbeat and saw Derek standing there, looking slightly concerned.
"What are you doing here?" I asked.
"You need to calm down," he said gently.
I furrowed my eyebrows and looked down at my hands as they slowly became claws. My breathing became shallow and I looked up at Derek with a confused face when I found him right in front of me. I knew it was too late to stop the shift, and he cupped my face in his calloused hands. Before I could ask what he was doing, he pressed his lips to mine and I was wrapping my arms around his neck as his hands went to the small of my back. We pulled away and he panted lightly. Unhooking my arms from his neck, I sighed as the bell rung, signaling the end of lunch. In the blink of an eye, I was standing alone in the hallway as the other students flooded in. The warmth of someone's hand found its way to my back and I jumped and spun.
"Don't let Danny get to you," Jackson sighed, "He's just upset because-"
"Because I keep canceling our plans, I know," I interrupted.
I turned and walked down the hallway to my next class, thinking about the kiss. Does he really feel something towards me? Of course not. I shook my head and slid into my seat. Class dragged on once more and I rested my head in my hands tiredly. When the end of class bell finally rung, I jumped out of my seat and rushed to my locker, then my jeep. As I drove back home, I tapped my fingers against the steering wheel. As I pulled up, the lights in the house were out as usual. Getting out, I jogged up to the door and bolted to my room, flopping down on my bed. Downstairs, I heard the door open and close quickly, making me pick myself up roughly. I made my way to the stairs, looking down the staircase for Deaton. My uncle was not at the bottom of the stairs when I got there. I looked around before being hit in the back of the head. I stumbled forward and spun roughly to see Derek standing there.
"Dude what the hell?" I wailed.
"Your training starts now," he said blandly before running at me.
I ducked and he leaped over my body, rolling into the front door. I spun to face him, claws extended and eyes glowing blue. I pulled back my wolf and avoided shifting like him. He stood and roared, getting ready to swing again. My phone rang and I pulled it out checking the number, Scott.
"Hello?" I answered, earning and annoyed eye roll from Derek.
"I need your help, can you come with us?" Scott asked eagerly.
"Need my help with what?" I asked.
A/N: Sorry it took so long for me to update, I started working on other stories and this one got brushed aside. On the Brightside, the sequel to my other Teen Wolf story is going great! 3 -Spaz
