Chapter 22: Zonic's Guilt

A few hours later, Zonic came out of the cave and went back to the other Zeti. He was still crying, and the other Zeti were wondering what was wrong.

Zor smiled at this which was very odd for him to do, "It is pleasing me to see pain again, finally." He sighed. "Too bad it's not me."

Zonic glared at him. "Shut up, Zor." Zor was shocked at this as were the rest of the Zeti. No one dared to speak again, not even Zazz made a crazy remark. The dark blue Zeti scoffed and shook his head. "I went to see Blaze, but she doesn't want to come here. She saw me destroy her kingdom and kill Shadow...I think it will be best if she doesn't come here. And don't say anything to convince me otherwise, because nothing will change my mind."

Zavok looked at his son in concern. He didn't want Zonic to be alone like him. He wanted him to have a family and be happy, but he can't change his son's choices.

Zonic glared at him. "What are you looking at?"

Zavok folded his arms and sighed, worried about his son at the sudden attitude change. He went from wanting to get Blaze to now not wanting to have anything to do with her. This was beginning to actually scare him.

The Zeti sighed and shook his head. "Never mind. So, what are we going to do now? Eggman is dead, and Lost Hex is peaceful once again."

Zonic folded his own arms and looked down, thinking about it. He looked at his father, who sighed. "We could protect Lost Hex from intruders from now on. He hesitated and then ran off.

Zavok was in shock at this and sighed; he frowned and looked at the other Zeti. "What shall we do?" He asked. "Zonic obviously doesn't want to be around us right now."

Zeena shrugged her shoulders, "Should we look around Lost Hex for anything to do?" Zavok shrugged; it was their only option right now. He looked at the Chaos Emeralds and picked them up.

The Zeti looked at each other and then ran ahead, looking for something to do. Mecha Tails followed them eagerly. Zavok thought about the Chaos Emeralds. Maybe he should bring Blaze here? He knew Zonic wanted to stay away from her, but he was hurting from the pain of losing her and how much pain did he cause her by telling her he couldn't be with her? He shook his head; Zonic wouldn't want that, and he would have to talk to his son about it first.

Zavok sighed; this was so confusing and traumatic. He sighed, and continued to walk around Lost Hex. He looked at Mecha Tails. "Go to the cave in Silent Forest and look after my son for me. Can you do that, Mecha?"

"Yes, Master Zavok," Mecha Tails said in his robotic tone.

He raced off and soon came to the cave. Zonic looked at him and smiled. "Hey, Tails! What are you doing here?"

"Master Zavok asked to me watch you," Tails replied in an auto-toned voice.

Zonic nodded. At least his best friend was here. "That's great."

Mecha Tails walked over to Zonic and looked at him, "Is there something bothering you?"

The dark blue Zeti looked at him and shook his head. "No, I'm fine."

Mecha Tails nodded his head and watched Zonic.

The Zeti looked at him. "Is there anything you want to do?" He asked.

Mecha Tails didn't know how to respond to that. He wasn't used to these kinds of questions. "Ummm..."

Zonic chuckled. "It's fine; forget I asked. I was just wondering if you could keep me company."

Mecha Tails nodded. "Yes, Zonic," the robot said.

The Zeti smiled. "Thanks."

Mecha Tails nodded and stood next to Zonic. Zonic sighed and looked around, then yawned and looked at Mecha Tails, smiling, as the robot powered down. He missed his friend; his little brother. Zonic stood up and, hesitantly, hugged Mecha Tails as tears fell from his eyes. He cried terribly. He missed his friends, and wished he could see the again in the Sol Dimension. But Zonic had destroyed it, along with his relationship with Blaze. There was no way she would want to see him again; not even if he begged her.

A few minutes later, Zavok walked in. "Son? I was thinking...we could use the Chaos Emeralds to summon Blaze here, if you want to."

Zonic looked up; he wasn't sure. What if she didn't trust him anymore after what he did to her kingdom? What if...she didn't love him anymore? That hurt him even more than knowing his friends were gone. "I...I suppose you can."

Zavok nodded. He brought out the Chaos Emeralds and closed his eyes. A few minutes later, a portal opened and Blaze came through.
