Sorry this took so long to update. It's been hectic, finals are coming up, so I will be updating as I'm able to. But, enough with the author talk, here's chapter 27, enjoy.

After a few hours, Charlie was awake and crying. She was hungry. A lactation consultant came in to help Olivia breast feed , and she looked down at her little girl, who was suckling on her breast and then looked back up at Brian. "This feels weird."

"Good weird?"

Olivia nodded. "Incredible." She gently caressed her daughter's cheek and smiled. "I never thought I'd get this feeling."

Brian kissed the top of her head and smiled at their daughter. "She looks like you, Liv."

She looked up at him. "I see you in her." Calvin went to his friend's house for the rest of the day and that night to get a good night's sleep. Olivia and Brian were alone in the room. Olivia heard a knock at the door and smiled. "Come in."

In walked Cragen, Fin, Nick, Amanda, Melinda, Joe, and Barba. Cragen smiled and looked at Olivia nursing her daughter. "How are you feeling?"

"Amazing, she's perfect."

"Well, she is your daughter." Fin joked.

Amanda smiled. "What's her name?" she asked gently. Olivia and Brian chose not to tell anyone the baby's name until she was born, just in case they changed their mind after she was born.

"Charlotte Paige Cassidy, our little Charlie girl."

Amanda smiled. "Oh, that's precious."

Joe smiled and took out a bib that said "My Uncle Loves Me" across it and handed it to his brother. "She's adorable. She must get it from Liv."

Olivia smiled and rolled her eyes. "Thanks, Doom."

The team stayed and chatted for a while. Once Charlie finished feeding she made her rounds to the squad and then back into Brian's arms. He looked down at his daughter and smiled. "I promise, I'm never going to let anyone hurt you. Mommy and I will always protect you."

Olivia looked up at him. Everyone had left and the nurse came in to take Charlie back to the nursery. Once the nurse left Brian climbed into the bed with Olivia and wrapped his arms around her. She smiled. "You're such a good dad."

"I'm so proud of you, baby. You're an amazing mom and you pretty much delivered our daughter with no medication. I'm in awe of you."

"I couldn't have done it without you. You're my rock." She looked up at him. She kissed him gently and rested her head on his chest.

He kissed the top of her head and gently rubbed her back. "You should get some rest. You've had a long day."

She smiled gently. "So have you." She looked up at him. "You need your rest too."

He gently ran his thumb over her lips, feeling her gently kiss it. "How about we both get some rest, hmm?"

She looked up at him. "Sounds perfect," she whispered and kissed him again, resting her hand on his cheek. "I love you," she whispered after she pulled away.

"I love you, too." Within a few minutes, they were both asleep, wrapped in each other's arms. Brian woke up a few hours later, seeing Olivia still fast asleep. He wiggled out of her grasp, seeing her move and get comfortable again before walking into the bathroom. When he walked back out he saw her still cuddled up under the blanket sleeping. He walked over to her and gently brushed her hair from her face and kissed her temple.

She stirred and opened her eyes and smiled at him. "What are you doing up?" she asked, her voice still groggy with sleep.

"Bathroom, now I'm a little hungry. I was going to go grab something quick, would you like me to get you something?"

She smiled gently. "Yeah, you know what I like. I'll take whatever you give me."

"You know that response could have been taken a totally different way," he smirked and kissed her gently.

Olivia giggled and rolled her eyes before kissing him back. "You, my love, have a one track mind," she murmured against his lips.

He chuckled and broke the kiss gently. "I have the sexiest fiancée on the face of the earth, you bet that sexy ass of yours I have a one track mind."

She kissed him again and broke it after a few moments, gently biting his bottom lip. "You better go get some food or we're going to be sitting here kissing until they bring Charlie for another feeding."

"I'll be back soon, Pancakes." He smiled and walked out of the room, heading for the cafeteria. He came back about twenty minutes later with a bag of food from the bodega down the street. "Cafeteria was closed. I ran to the bodega, got some sandwiches."

Olivia sat up. "You are incredible, baby." She pulled his hand, pulling him closer and kissing him passionately. She broke the kiss and smiled. "I am the luckiest woman alive. I have two beautiful children and an incredible, sexy fiancé."

Brian let out a groan into the kiss and smiled. "If you're the luckiest woman then I am the luckiest man. I have those same beautiful children and a strong, incredible, loving, kind, hot, sexy fiancée who has the power to melt me with a single kiss." He smirked and kissed her again, pushing her back on the bed and kissing her again. He climbed on top of her, feeling her hands come to rest on either side of his face. He broke the kiss and gently kissed her neck.

She let out a breath and rested her hand on the back of his head. Her back arched and bit her bottom lip. "Bri."

He kissed back up to her lips and let out a breath. "You need to eat so you can feed Charlie," he whispered.

She nodded. "You started it," she whispered back. She ran her hands over her chest. "We can continue kissing later."

He smirked. "Mm, sounds like the perfect plan to me." He kissed her one more time and rolled off of her and reached down to the foot of the bed and picked the bag back up. "I got us both pastrami sandwiches."

"Oh, you are incredible."

"Like you said, I know what you like." He took their sandwiches out of the bag and handed her one. They ate their sandwiches, washing it down with the sodas that he brought back. When they finished Olivia lay back and looked at Brian, a smile on her face. He lay on his side and gently caressed her cheek. "So beautiful."

She smiled and leaned in close to him and kissed him softly. She let out a gentle moan and rolled to her side. She broke the kiss gently. "I want nothing more than to straddle you and grind on you all day," she whispered. "However, the pain killers have worn off and the dull ache between my legs is getting increasingly more painful."

"Pancakes, call the nurse and get something for it."

"I'll be fine."

"That is one thing I don't understand, baby. You can get something to help the pain, but you'd rather live in pain."

"It's not that I'd rather live in pain. I just…"

"Just what, Liv?"

She let out a breath and shook her head. "Both of my parents were addicts. Narcotic pain relievers, like the Percocet they give at the hospital, scare the hell out of me. I could call the nurse now and get another pill, or I can do what I've always done when it comes to pain. I can work around it. I don't want to wind up like my mom, especially now that we have kids."

Brian kissed her forehead. "Okay, I get that, but while you're in the hospital they'll monitor how often you get it, how often you're allowed to take it. You don't want to take it when we get home I get it, but if even just lying here you're in this much pain…"

She twisted her face in pain and let out a breath. "Fine. God it hurts," she said and pushed the nurse call button.

"Not for nothing, but you did just push a seven pound baby out of your vagina."

She glared at him. "Now is not the time for being facetious."

"Sorry."

The nurse came in and smiled. "What can I do for you?"

"I'm in a lot of pain. The medication wore off and what started like a dull ache has rapidly become a feeling I've only ever had while delivering the baby," she kept her breathing steady, trying to control the pain.

"I'll be back in a minute." Olivia rested back against Brian and closed her eyes. She heard the door open again and saw the nurse with a small medicine cup with a couple pills in it. "Percocet and Motrin."

Olivia took them and lay back. "Thank you." She rested her head on Brian's chest right behind her was the nurse from the nursery with Charlie. "Oh, someone's hungry. Come here, pretty girl." The nurse handed Charlie to Olivia, who started to breast feed her.

Brian smiled as he watched his fiancée feed their daughter. He was in awe of her. He kissed her cheek and wrapped an arm around her shoulders. "This is the most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my entire life."

She looked up at him and smiled, leaning forward. "Get behind me."

"What?"

"Just trust me, sit behind me." Brian moved so he was sitting behind her, with her between his legs. She leaned back against him and smiled. "Wrap your arms around me and cradle Charlie where she is."

Brian followed orders and smiled. "Wow."

"Now you get to be part of the feedings," she whispered and looked back at him, kissing him gently.

He kissed her back and broke the kiss gently. He went back to watching his daughter nurse from his fiancée's breast and then she opened her eyes, her brown eyes looking into his. "She has your eyes," he whispered to Olivia with a smile.

Olivia smiled and looked down at their daughter. "I still can't believe we have a baby. You and me, we made this."

He kissed the back of her neck and smiled. "It was a lot of fun, too."

She rolled her eyes and chuckled. "You're right, it was."

"I felt that eye roll."

She laughed and noticed that Charlie had stopped suckling. "You may want to move for this part, in case she spits up."

He smiled gently. "I can burp her for you if you want."

She looked back at him. "Yeah?"

He nodded. "Yeah, I got it."

Olivia smiled and let him take Charlie. She got up and kissed him gently. "I'm going to the bathroom." She kissed him again gently. She walked into the bathroom. A few minutes later she walked back out and smiled seeing Brian walking around rocking their daughter. She leaned against the door jamb to the bathroom just watching, listening to him with their daughter.

"You're so pretty, just like Mommy. You know she's waited for you her whole life. You're our little miracle baby. The two of you are fighters, and you don't even know why. I'm sure that will be your favorite story." He knew she wasn't going to be able to understand anything he was saying. He was really talking as he walked around the room, gently bouncing her. He heard his daughter burp and he gasped. "You get that from Daddy." He chuckled and turned around, seeing Olivia leaning against the door jamb. He looked from her to Charlie. "Say hi Mommy," he said gently.

She smiled and walked over to them and looked at their daughter. "Hi there, pretty girl." She kissed her forehead. She looked up at Brian, feeling his arm wrap around her. "I can't wait to get out of here and go home. I want to be able to sleep in our bed and walk around our house," she said gently, looking at Charlie with a smile.

The next day, both Olivia and Charlie were released. They headed home; the doctor gave Olivia strict orders, nothing inside of her for six weeks so she could heal. Olivia and Brian both knew that there was plenty more they could do without penetration, but they needed to wait until the stitches dissolved. She walked in the house, carrying Charlie in her car seat and smiling. "Welcome home, baby girl." She put her car seat down and took her out of it, holding her.

Brian smiled and kissed her forehead. He saw her looking up at him and he kissed her lips. He smiled and broke the kiss. "So, what should we have for dinner?"

Olivia smiled. "Oh, let me cook! I haven't gotten to cook in months."

He wrapped and arm around her and nodded. "Sounds good, Pancakes."

She nuzzled into him, still holding Charlie when she heard the door open. She looked up and saw Calvin, who all but dropped his backpack and ran over to them, seeing Charlie. Olivia smiled and kissed his forehead. "Hey, kiddo."

Calvin smiled. "I'm so glad you guys are home!"

Olivia wrapped an arm around him. "I'm glad to be home. Only so many nights I can sleep in a hospital bed."

Calvin looked up at her. "Can I hold Charlie?"

Olivia looked at Brian and then at Calvin. "Sit down." He sat in one of the kitchen chairs and she handed Charlie to him, his arms cradling her. "Support her head, there you go."

Calvin smiled down at her. "Hey Charlie girl, I'm your big brother. I'm always going to protect you, okay? Don't worry about that." Olivia smiled gently and felt Brian's arms around her waist. She held his hands in hers and closed her eyes. This was bliss. She noticed that Charlie's eyes were drifting closed. She took a deep breath. Calvin held her for a little while longer and then looked up at Olivia. "My arm is getting kinda tired."

Olivia smiled and picked Charlie back up. "It's okay. There will be plenty more times to hold her. I'm going to go put her in her crib. I'll be back in a minute."

She walked upstairs and into the nursery, softly singing to Charlie, Reba's Angel's Lullaby. "Midnight moonlight shining through the curtain lace, paints a perfect picture on your perfect face. One sweet angel sleeping in my arms, you're the promise I knew that God would keep. You are the gift that makes my world complete. And you'll never know how much I love you, but I'll keep telling you my whole life through. Now I believe in miracles, and you're the reason why; so dream on, while I sing you my angel's lullaby."

It was the truth. Olivia wasn't a religious person; she believed in a Higher Power, she just didn't have a name for it. Fate, karma, she really wasn't sure what it was. She was six weeks pregnant when Lewis attacked her. He kicked her in the stomach, and Charlie was perfect, like nothing happened. When she learned that, she knew that there had to be some kind of power greater than herself at work. Charlie was her miracle baby, and every word of the lullaby was true.
