Arc 1: Empire restoration
Episode 4 part 1: The mercenary samurai

A man sits in his large office in front of his computer. He made a call 3 days ago and is still waiting for his appointment. He glances at a board showing the latest profits of his company. It was rising despite the current economy. He puts his hands over his dark glasses to fix them before grunting. He hears a beeping and he smirks.
"-Mister DK. Your appointment is here-" says a female voice. It was his secretary on the intercom.
"Send him in," DK says.
"-Alright-" she answers.
He waits for a while and finally sees the door open. He smiles when he sees the one he was waiting for enter in his office.
"I never expect to be called by the owner of Wall Mart himself," the visitor says. "I'm also surprised this room is big enough for me."
"Well, I've called you here Gaioumon. There is a reason I need the service of the best," Says DK.
Gaioumon is a powerful Digimon that resembles a dragon wearing Samurai armor, wielding two swords, the Kikurin swords. His appearance his similar to Blackwargreymon; same skin color, same morphology, but his samurai armor, his mask and his long white hair are different. His armor is black like his skin and covers his chest and his arms. The armor has a metal spike at the wrist, 2 over his shoulders and one over his head, the legs his cover with long black tissues. He is 10 times taller than Arresterdramon who is twice as tall as an average man.
"You need my service? Then you should know I'm not the type to work for free," Gaioumon says. "How much are talking?"
"One million dollars," DK answers.
Gauioumon grunted. "Three million and we have a deal. I am a professional digimon hunter after all. I don't work for scrap."
"One million isn't scrap. You're trying to take advantage of me."
"If you are not interest in paying me three million, then I'll take my leave," Gaioumon turns his back and starts to walk away.
"Wait!" DK shouts. Gaioumon stops walking away. He turns his head back to DK. "You win you greedy bastard. You can have your stupid three million. But! Only if you succeed in your task. I cannot pay three million without guaranty of your success."
"Hmm..," Gaioumon turns back to the man. "Deal. What do I need to do?"
"My task might seem simple but it can be harder than you believe," DK says. Gaioumon smiles when he believes he can finally fight after 5 years. "You have to kidnap a girl. And do not, I repeat, DO NOT HURT HER! If I see even a scratch, your payment will be cut in half."
Gaioumon nods. He knows DK is serious and he'll take that in mind. DK shows the picture and Gaioumon looks at it with disappointment. He sees that this girl is of African descent and she looks surprised at being caught in the picture.
"You want me to kidnap a girl? Why don't you do it yourself?" Asks Gaioumon.
"I have a business to run. Also...I believe she is the fighting type of woman. She would probably fight back with everything she has. And she never told me her name, but my research tells me that her name is Vanessa. Also, there are other digimon hunters in the town. You might encounter them if they are friends with Vanessa."
"That is not something I like to do. Kidnapping women like in all stories I heard when I was a kid. You are making it sound like you're the bad guy here," Chuckles Gaioumon.
"There's another reason I don't do it myself. Who will believe that a giant dinosaur samurai would kidnap a girl and disappear with her?"
"The digimon hunters, though. If they know about it, won't they come to her rescue?"
"Listen to me carefully, when you kidnap the girl, bring her here immediately. Do not lose time in a fight against the digimon hunters."
"Alright. As you wish," Gaioumon says. But he has other plans in mind.
This might be interesting after all. He thinks to himself.
He takes out his H-Loader and he inputs the information he obtained. Then, he turns around and he walks out of the room.
DK puts his hand over his face. "You'd better bring her."
Gaioumon walks on the roof of the building and looks around. He then puts the information and the picture in his H-loader and he waits for the result.
Vanessa has been located at 10km south of your position.
"She is a little far away... But nothing that I cannot hunt," Gaioumon says.
Arrest's House
Arrest, Gum-Gum, Allie and Vanessa were together. The trio explains, again, to Vanessa everything that happens before she discovered the truth. Vanessa looks at them but she doesn't appear as confused as before.
"I think I think I get it now... I... I just can't believe it's true," Vanessa says. "You look like a normal human, but you're a dragon and your little brother too. But, there is one thing you haven't told me yet. Where did you come from? It is clear you are not from this world."
"...You never actually explained that to me either," Allie says. "You only explained to me what a digimon hunter must do. Nothing else."
Arrest looks at the ground. "Well...It is pretty useless to talk about something that...I really don't want to think."
"Something pretty bad then," Vanessa surmises.
"So bad that it still gives my little bro nightmares," Says Arrest putting his hand on the back of his brother.
"Anyway...Thanks for explaining it to me again," Vanessa says. "I'm sorry for bothering you with this."
"Yeah," Says Arrest. "But you are clearly tougher to believe in all this than Allie."
"Well...I guess I should be going. I have to train for our race team at school," Vanessa says.
"You're lucky you are not racing against me," Says Arrest with a smile. "Because you couldn't win."
"Oh yeah? We'll see about that," Replies Vanessa.
"You will not beat big bro. He's the best," Gum-Gum says.
"He is right," Smirks Arrest. "You can't beat me. The great Arresterdramon."
"Let's see who the best in racing. Let's go to the park," Vanessa says.
"Alright. It is time to race," Says Arrest with a smile.
The 4 get out of the house and walk toward the park. Near them, Gaioumon lurks on the roof of a tall building and observing his prey.
"When are you going to capture her, Master?" Says a voice. It came from the H-Loader.
"Not now...This place is too much crowded. I don't want to act until I am sure there is someone who can stand in my way," Gaioumon says.
"I have to wait to see a fight? It's been 5 years!" Complains the voice in the H-Loader.
"SkullSatamon. You better stop complaining right now or you'll be punished," Gaioumon says.
"...Alright, Master. I'll shut up."
"Good. Now let's follow our prey."
"I wonder how no one is seeing you?" .
"Human can be blind when they want, or see something it shouldn't exist like us," Gaioumon says. He then looks to the left. "I'm also using a cloaking device."
SkullSatamon says nothing.
Gaioumon jumps in the air and he moves closer to the pray, targeting the 4 humans, especially Vanessa.
The park
Allie sighs when she sees Vanessa and Arrest preparing for the race. Arrest flexes his legs while Vanessa do a little jogging in place. She's ready to crush Arrest.
"You may have an average but I'm going to beat you Arrest," Vanessa says.
"If you can beat me, it means that I'm very slow," Says Arrest.
"Big bro is going to beat you whatever you do," Gum-Gum says.
Gum-Gum is very excited for the race.
Gaioumon was nearby and he listens to the talk and look around. He sees that they are going to race and he prepares his plan. He knows he'll have to ambush them and take Vanessa by surprise and challenge the digimon hunters in the town.
"Are you ready Vanessa?" Asks Arrest.
"Of course I am ready," She replies. "You may be a...D...But you cannot beat the champion racer of Binary school." She smirks. She didn't say digimon because there are people around them.
"Let's go," Says Arrest.
They both prepare for the race.
"Remember that we have to race to the woods of the park and come back from the other side," Vanessa says.
"Noted," Says Arrest.
"Ready!" Allie says.
Gum-Gum jumps exactly with a smile. He encourages his brother with a smile.
"Set!" Allie says. The 2 racers ride their back while some people are coming around to watch them by curiosity. "GO!"
Arrest and Vanessa starts running at there are side by side from the start. They are side by side during the first half of the track until they reach the woods. Arrest smiles and when they enter in the woods, he made a dash and Vanessa runs faster but she clearly sees that he is faster, even in his human form. She doesn't want to give up and she continues until she doesn't feel the ground. She feels something grabbing her T-shirt and touching her back too. She looks behind her and she sees a masked being 20 times taller than her looking at her.
"Got you," He says smirking. He moves his thumb and covers her mouth and he jumps away.
Meanwhile, Arrest runs outside and he joins Allie.
"And I win!" He shouts with a smile. He looks behind him and he notices Vanessa isn't there. He didn't run that fast. "Where is she?"
"Vanessa should already be here," Allie says.
"We should go and see if she is alright," Gum-Gum says.
The 2 older nods and they follow the track to the woods and they didn't see her anywhere. Arrest looks around and he sees something on the ground.
"Look here," Says Arrest.
Allie and Gum-Gum look and they see a big footprint.
"Something big grabbed her," Allie says, worried.
"This is bad. I didn't even feel anyone's presence. He must be a digimon; a good one who knows how to hide himself," Says Arrest.
"We have to look for her!" Allie says.
"Let's try and search around. She cannot be that far," Says Arrest.
They get out of the woods and they search around the park, but they see nothing around them. Allie grows more worried for her best friend. Arrest and Gum-Gum know they have to hurry up, especially if it is a wild digimon.
"Don't worry Allie. I promise I'll rescue her," Arrest says.
A loud sound suddenly arises from nearby and the trio run to the source of it. It came coming from a big building with one of the walls being used as a screen gigantic screen. It was an unfocused screen where nothing can be seen until the face of Gaioumon suddenly appears.
"What the-" But Arrest was cut off.
"-Greetings citizens-" Gaioumon says.
The trio stare at the screen, not failing to notice the sarcasm in his voice.
"-I have a very important message to send to the digimon hunters of this town-" Gaioumon moves the camera to show Vanessa in his hands struggling to escape him. The people around the trio of friends talk about the weird things he was saying. They all believe it is a prank or a movie trailer given in an original way. "-I challenge all of you in a fight against me! If you win, I'll release the girl. If you cannot defeat me, I'll take her with me and you'll never see her again. Meet me at the coordinates sent on all H-Loader right now. And do not be late. I give you one hour.-" The screen once again becomes unfocused, then displays the news like nothing had happened.
Allie, Arrest and Gum-Gum didn't need to say anything. Allie receives the coordinates on her H-Loader, and they immediately run toward their destination.
In another part of the city
Minerva and Leo see the message, both recognizing Vanessa.
"Looks like they are in trouble," Minerva says. She looks at her H-Loader and she sees it showing the location of the duel site.
"Should we go Minerva?" Asks Leo.
"Yes. We better go there and beat this digimon," Minerva says.
"Won't be easy if it is the same Gaioumon I've heard about," Leo says.
"What do you mean?" Asks Minerva when they move at the location.
"You'll see when we face him," Leo says.
In his office
DK watches on his TV the message sent by Gaioumon. He grunts in annoyance.
"You idiot. I've told you to bring her here immediately!" he sighs. "But I was expecting this expecting this. If he wants some fun, he can have it. As long has he brings Vanessa here intact."
Roof of a large building of 40 floors
Gaioumon sits on the ground of the roof with Vanessa in his hands. Vanessa keeps struggling and Gaioumon looks at her, pissed.
"Will you stop struggling?! I am waiting for a fight." He moves her closer to his face and when she can, she punches his left eye and he shouts in pain. "ARGH! You little... You may some fight in you but you aren't a digimon. Do it one more time and I'll cut off your hands, Vanessa."
"W- How do you know my name?!" Vanessa shouts.
"My employer is paying me to kidnap you for... sentimental reasons I guess. Whatever he does to you...I don't f***** care."
Gaioumon looks in the air and sees a purple shape in the sky flying at his direction. He looks closely and he sees it was Arresterdramon with a human and a Gumdramon.
Arresterdramon lands in front of him at a distance. The human moves away from him, glaring furiously at Gaioumon.
"Allie!" Shouts Vanessa.
"Vanessa! You release my friend or we will destroy you!" Shouts Allie.
"HAHAHAHA!" Gaioumon laughs. "A human thinks she can beat me! But you can't! You're not a digimon and you are a girl!"
Allie glares at Gaioumon for his comment. Vanessa gives him a killer glare as well.
"I'm going to be the one to fight you!" Shouts Arresterdramon.
"Hum... You look familiar... GammaArresterdramon?" Gaioumon says.
"...No... I am his son, Arresterdramon," Arresterdramon says.
"You are the one fighting me...Like father like son...Both digimon hunters...The Gumdramon there must be your son then," Gaioumon says.
Arresterdramon purple face turns red.
"It's my brother...Anyway...I am the one fighting you!" Shouts Arresterdramon.
"Show me you're H-Loader Arresterdramon," Orders Gaioumon.
"Euh..," Arresterdramon says.
"I'm the one with the H-Loader," Allie says. A long, uncomfortable silence follows.
"...HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Gaioumon laughs so hard that most of the city can hear the strange laugh of hysteria. "THIS...THIS GIRL BEAT YOU? HAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Arresterdramon falls on the ground and his feet are in the air. He then stands up and he looks at Gaioumon.
"SHE DIDN'T BEAT ME! I AM HELPING HER IN THE HUNTING!" Screams Arresterdramon.
"Oh, so the hunter is Miss Allie. Then, Allie, Did you tame Arresterdramon?" Asks Gaioumon.
"What do you mean?" Asks Allie.
"If you haven't tamed him, he will eventually give up on you and let you down; he is only helping you until he doesn't need you. You have to tame him and control him like a dog in this world. The duty of a hunter is to capture digimon and tame them like a dog so they obey your every command," Gaioumon says.
Allie looks at Arresterdramon.
"No. I trust him," Allie says.
"You do not know what his priorities are," Gaioumon says.
Allie now has some doubts. She looks at Arresterdramon. She cannot see his eyes but he gives on sign that he may let her down. She shakes her head and she insults herself for doubting him for a second there.
"You are trying to make me doubt him. He saves my life and we are friends. Stop your mind games Gaioumon!" Shouts Allie.
"So you say. But do not forget my warnings," Gaioumon takes out his H-Loader. "SkullSatamon...Realize!"
SkullSatamon appears next to Gaioumon. SkullSatamon is a big digimon who has the appearance of a red skeleton. He wears a black strange pant that is very on his skulls and makes him legs very thin. He wears a long and very long brown loincloth. He also has 2 silver and purple gloves. His head is black with 2 little wings on his head. He has also a red bat on his front head. On the center of his chest, under his thoracic cage, a black globe is there. He has a long red staff on his back with a yellow ball at the top.
"Take the girl while I'll fight him," Gaioumon says.
"As you wish, Master," Says SkullSatamon taking her gently in his hand so he doesn't hurt her for the sake of the contract.
"Now..." Gaioumon draws his swords, spinning in in his hands before taking a battle stance. "...Show me what you can do."
I may be finally able to do it. To do what you ask me to do. Think, Gaioumon.
"Arrest..." Allie says worried.
"Do not worry...I'll beat him like any others," Arresterdramon says with a thumb up.
He walks at the direction of Gaioumon.
Allie hears a whine and she looks at MetalTyrannomon, who seems very worried and afraid of Gaioumon.
Arrest is underestimating him. Thinks Allie.
"Arrest! You have to be careful!" Shouts Allie.
Gumdramon looks at Allie and he wonders what she means.
"Big bro says it's going to be alright, so it's going to be alright," Says Gumdramon.
Far away, on another side of the building
The masked man who was always with Dorbickmon looks at the duel which is about to happen. He looks at it and he doesn't like the look of this.
"Arresterdramon has been found...And a Gumdramon too...Must be family related," He says. "And Gaioumon, one of the most powerful digimon hunters...Too bad I don't have the bracelet to save you."
Arresterdramon is in front of Gaioumon and looks into his eyes. He cracks a few joints himself and gives some acrobatic kicks and he puts himself in battle stance.
"What are you doing?" Asks Gaioumon.
"Showing off like you," Replies Arresterdramon.
"You little...!" Grunts Gaioumon. "...Ready?"
"I'm ready" Arresterdramon says.
They both glare at each other's before Gaioumon takes the offensive. He moves his sword, but Arresterdramon sees it coming.
"Uh oh," Arresterdramon says, jumping to the left and dodging the blades at the very last second.
He runs at Gaioumon and attacks with the anchor of his tail but Gaioumon blocks it with his blade. He counters with a kick, but he misses Arresterdramon at the last second again.
Allie and Gumdramon see this and they know it will not be an easy fight or a fight where he can't win.
"Arrest!" Shouts Allie.
"It's alright...I'll just have to be serious about it," Arresterdramon says ready for anything.
Arresterdramon charges at Gaioumon, he evades the blade by passing under Gaioumon. He jumps in the air and he kicks the knee of Gaioumon and he forces him to fall on the ground. Gaioumon puts his hands on the ground and he jumps in the air
"AAAHHH!" and he lands on Arresterdramon who screams when he is squish by the giant feet's of Gaioumon. Only his tail is between the toes on the dark dragon digimon.
"ARREST!" Scream Allie and Gumdramon.
Arresterdramon tries to rise the feet of Gaioumon but he is not strong enough so he slips under the toes and he jumps away.
"I'm alright... Just hurt a lot," Arresterdramon says.
"...Is that all?" Asks Gaioumon he chuckles a little.
"What do you mean about that?" Arresterdramon says.
"You are really not like your father...You're just a newbie who was lucky to fight just not too bad," Gaioumon says. "I'm pretty sure you will bring shame to your family of digimon hunter by being the partner of a hunter rather than the hunter yourself."
"Shut up!" Shouts Arresterdramon charging at Gaioumon.
The samurai digimon just punches the purple dragon who flies in the air. Arresterdramon opens his small wings and flies back to the battlefield.
"Me...Shut up?" Asks Gaioumon. "I'm just starting. You must have realized right now that you do not stand a chance against me. It is best for you to give up and train to become stronger. Don't be too hasty."
"I don't need a lecture from you!" Shouts Arresterdramon.
He charges once again at Gaioumon who uses his 2 sword to attack Arresterdramon. He moves his tail forward and he traps it with his hands and blocks it with his anchor and resists the strength of Gaioumon.
"Give it up kiddo. You are just not ready for this," Gaioumon says calmly.
"Give up...I'm not...the one who...give up," Arresterdramon says.
"You have some fighting spirits...Just like your father," Gaioumon says. "But you are not as powerful as him right now."
"I am...I am not going to give up the fight!" Shouts Arrest. "I promise...Allie...That I'll...Rescue her friend!"
He pushes the sword away and he jumps closer to Gaioumon.
"Frog Shot!" Shouts Arresterdramon. He spins and he cuts the chest of Gaioumon who grunts in pain when little blood came out of his chest.
"Urgh...Paper cut," Grunts Gaioumon with a smile.
"Paper cut! You're insulting me!" Shouts Arresterdramon.
"For my size...That's what the attack is," Gaioumon says. He then attacks with his blade.
(Bleach OST 2 - Track 2 - Emergence of the Haunted)
Arresterdramon dodges all the attack of Gaioumon blade and he tries to find an opening, which never comes. He then receives a blow at his head and he lands hardly on the ground. He turns around and he sees the blade coming. Arresterdramon rolls on the ground to dodge the sword when he sees Allie preparing to give support.
"MetalTyrannomon realize!" Shouts Allie.
MetalTyrannomon appears besides her and he is ready for the digixros. Arresterdramon jumps away.
"Allie! It's useless to strengthen my defense! I'll lose some speed!" Shouts Arresterdramon.
Allie knows he's telling the true and she stops herself from digixrosing.
Arresterdramon charges once again and he dodges the blades of Gaioumon and he punches the stomach of Gaioumon.
"That's a weak punch," Comments Gaioumon. "Let me show you a real one!"
He gives a powerful punch at Arresterdramon who lands on the roof of the building and pierce the roof and stops falling 3 floors below. He then flies back on the roof and he breathes heavily and shows signs of exhaustion.
"Don't make me repeat again...Give up the fight now. You are not ready to face me," Gaioumon says.
"Arrest! Stop! It's useless!" Shouts Allie.
"Big bro...You have to stop! I don't want to lose you too!" Shouts Gumdramon.
Arresterdramon listens to them but refuse to comply.
"I cannot back down you two...I promised I'd save Vanessa. And I will not break that promise," Answers Arresterdramon.
MetalTyrannomon then grunts in a way to ask him to stop fighting.
He charges once again and he dodges and blocks with his anchor any attack of Gaioumon for a minute. He still feels the exhaustion and it is only getting worsen. The longer he fights the less energy he has left. Gaioumon eyes show he is getting bored with the fight and he decides to finish this fight now. He then beats Arresterdramon with multiple punches without using his sword and Arresterdramon is too exhausted to dodge any of them. After 30 punches, Gaioumon stops and Arresterdramon falls on the ground, his body and armor broken and covered with blood. He has taken massive damage on his body and he cannot take another one. The blood falls from the mask and the chest of Arresterdramon who meets the eyes of Gaioumon. He can only see the dark samurai dinosaur digimon. The rest was just blur and moving when it is not supposed to.
"It is over Arresterdramon," Gaioumon says. "I have no intention of killing you." He then puts his 2 swords where he takes them. He turns around.
"STAY RIGHT HERE!" Screams the purple dragon.
Arresterdramon stands up, barely. His legs are shaking and it is clear that he uses everything he has left just to stand up. He looks at Vanessa.
"Do not...Worry...I'll save you..," Arresterdramon says.
"Don't play the knight saving a demoiselle in distress. It is not a fairy tales," Gaioumon says.
"F...F...Frog Shot!" Shouts Arresterdramon. He spins and the anchor is trap in the big toe of Gaioumon. The anchor is trap there.
"A useless attack," Comments Gaioumon. "I'll do as you wish Arresterdramon." He draws only one sword. "Prepare to lose your head and return into the pixels you were born!" He raises his sword and he slashes at the direction of Arresterdramon. Everything is in slow-motion.
Allie looks in horror to her friend who is about to die.
Gumdramon looks at his brother and tears appear in his eyes. He will in the next second lose the last member of his family and be all alone for real this time.
MetalTyrannomon just watches but he is sad. He likes Arresterdramon and considers him as a friend just like Allie.
A painful feeling arises in Vanessa's chest. Someone is about to die because of her...And she doesn't even know why someone wants her.
Arresterdramon only looks at the blade without any fears...Only sorrow and sadness.
Allie...Please takes care of my brother. Little bro...I break my promise...I love you.
