Evan's POV
I watch her as she goes to the back of the room, through the doorway. I wanted to run to her, hug her and keep her safe in my arms. I wish I could go inside of her mind and erase of the memories of that bastard.
She's like a magnet, pulling me into her life. To her. I can't ignore how I feel. Ever since we kissed I've wanted so much more. But after what happened, It's up to her for what she wants.
I keep remembering her limp body laying on that table. So pale, so bro-
"Evan, we need you back here." Sarah stands in the doorway looking frantic. Before I know it I'm rushing into the room where Tris lies on the floor, her eyes closed.
"What happened!?" I bend down and cradle her head in my lap. stroking her face. "Tris wake up. Come on your okay. Wake up."
"I was telling her about some test results and she just passed out-"
"What test results? Is she okay?" I turn m head to look at her only long enough to see a look of despair on her face. I pick up Tris in my arms. She's so small, yet I've never met anyone bigger. I kiss her forehead.
"I'm not sure I should tell you. It's something she should do herself." I nod and lay her and the table she usually sits on.
"Tris" I keep saying her name, shaking her gently. her eyelids flutter as I breath in a sigh of relief.
She opens her eyes, dazed. ''Evan? what's going on?" She tries to lift her head to look around. She lies back down, bringing her hand up to her head.
"You passed out. You were talking to Sarah about some test results." She looks vaguely confused, then she realizes something and gasps. "No no no no" she starts to tear up.
"Tris, what is it?" I sit beside her and hold her cheek in my hand. Wiping the tears away.
"I'd rather talk about it later. Can you take me home?" She looks into my eyes, I feel like she can melt me into a puddle or turn me into stone.
"Of course." she starts to stand. "I'll carry you, we aren't that far." she starts to say no, but I've already scooped her up into my arms. She manages a giggle.
"I'll come back later." I whisper to Sarah as I carry Tris through the door.
