A/N: Yeah, this is the pace I will update with now... It's slow, and there will probably be up to several months in between updates, but I am not quitting on the story, I swear. It just takes time because of real-life stuff and other stories I'm working on. Still, here you have another chapter. Also, I'm adding a "Deleted Scene" thing at the end, to make up for the wait ;)
Chapter 12
Grimmjow staggered a bit, almost falling to the ground as the Shinigami hit him.
"Woah, slow down! What's the rush?" he asked, grabbing hold of Ichigo's arm to keep him from running.
"They took her!" the orange haired teen said.
"Who?" Grimmjow frowned and loosened his grip.
"Aizen! The hollows took Inoue!" Ichigo snapped, tearing his arm free from Grimmjow's hand.
"What?! Why would they take her?" the arrancar asked. Ichigo shrugged and glared at him.
"I don't know. But she's my friend, and I have to get her back!"
"Slow down! Has it occurred to you that this could be a trap? Think for a second! He obviously wants to lure you in! You're one of the strongest shinigami I've ever seen, and possibly the strongest. You're a potential threat, don't you think he'd want to get rid of you?" Grimmjow felt a sense of déjà vu as he spoke. He knew he'd had a similar conversation with Buffy, a lifetime ago…
"Of course! I'm not stupid Grimmjow. But she's my friend. I can't just stay here and not do anything just because it's a trap. He'd kill her," Ichigo shouted, his hands clenching into fists. Grimmjow sighed and ran a hand through his hair.
"I know. I just had to hear it from you. Now, what are we waiting for?" he smirked at the redhead.
"I'll try to talk to the others, though with what Soul Society said, they might not help…"
"What do you mean?"
"They declared her a traitor, said they couldn't risk it being a trap," again Grimmjow saw the parallels. It sounded eerily similar to how the Council treated Buffy. Using her as a tool for them to win the battle against vampires, demons and the forces of darkness. Similarly, it seemed Soul Society used the young substitute shinigami as a tool to fight Aizen, forgetting that the teen had an actual life. Unlike the other shinigami, the boy was still alive. Grimmjow's fists clenched.
"We'll try talking with them anyway… But I think we should wait, just a little, just to prepare a bit, before going after her. You're good, and together we beat Nnoitra, but he's only the 5th strongest. Ulquiorra is worse, then there's Harribel, Baraggan and Stark. And that's not including all the minor arrancar there," he warned the teen.
"I suppose you're right… But I can't wait for long. The longer we wait, the more time Aizen has to harm her," Ichigo said, his perpetual frown deepening. "I can't risk anything happening to her because of me!"
"And I understand! But you can't help her at all if you die! Aizen took her to lure you in. Let's walk into his trap together. When we're prepared!" Grimmjow grabbed the boy, pulling him close. "I won't let you go alone and unprepared. Don't you get it? I love you too much to lose you over something so pointless!" Ichigo's eyes went wide and he seemed to freeze in place.
"Did you just say you love me?" he asked, his voice close to a whisper. Grimmjow looked away.
"No…"
"That's what I heard,"
"Ok. Whatever. I love you… Just… I don't want you to die," the hollow's words trailed off into a mutter. Ichigo quickly pushed his lips onto Grimmjow's.
"I love you too, idiot. I already said I'd wait. Just not too long, ok?" the red head said. Grimmjow frowned but nodded.
"Fine. We're going back home. Tomorrow we're training, but tonight we're getting a good night's sleep," Ichigo reluctantly agreed and followed Grimmjow back into the house and up to the bedroom.
After watching Ichigo tossing and turning for an hour Grimmjow realized the boy wouldn't fall asleep while still having the girl on his mind. Of course, the blue haired arrancar figured he'd take Ichigo's mind off of things the only way he could think of, sex. He rolled over, until he lay on top of the boy, kissing him and grinding his hips down on Ichigo's. It took a little coercion, but soon both men had worked up a nice arousal. Grimmjow grabbed Ichigo's cock and fondled it for a while, before breaking the series of kisses, sitting up and straddling the boy's hips. Not wanting to wait for a minute longer than necessary, he quickly got Ichigo's cock lubed up, and sat down on it. A shot of pain told him he might have been a bit too eager, but as soon as he started moving, riding the shinigami, pleasure began overriding the initial pain, reminding him why he was so okay with Ichigo topping. The kid started moving his hips in sync with Grimmjow, grabbing onto his hips and digging his fingers into the flesh, probably leaving delicious bruises. As they picked up the pace, Ichigo grabbed onto Grimmjow's cock, pumping it to the rhythm of their thrusts. Just as Grimmjow thought he couldn't handle it anymore, Ichigo hit his prostate, making him yowl in pleasure as he came hard. Ichigo thrust into him a couple more times before following suit. Panting they collapsed on the bed, and it didn't take long for them to fall asleep, resolving to clean themselves off in the morning.
Meanwhile, in Hueco Mundo, Orihime was taken to her room by Ulquiorra. The pale espada let turned to the door, about to leave when she spoke.
"He won't be harmed, will he?" it was obvious she was talking about the orange haired shinigami. Ulquiorra's face remained void of emotion as he turned to her.
"Not unless he's foolish enough to come after you,"
"I'm glad," she said. Smiling, despite the sadness in her eyes.
"Why?" the espada asked.
"Because I love him," she said. Despite his lack of visible emotion, confusion and curiousity had been sparked in Ulquiorra.
"Love?" he said. "That useless, human, emotion… A weakness," he stated. She shook her head.
"It's not a weakness. It's what makes us human. What makes us strong," she said softly.
"Then does he love you back?" the espada asked. She shook her head, and her smile faded.
"Then it is a weakness. Truly, caring for someone who does not return the feelings is masochistic and foolish. Why would you consider it a strength when it is what incapacitates you humans so?" he said. She looked away.
"Because it's all that matters. If you love someone, you want their happiness, you want them safe, and you will do anything to make sure they are… safe and happy," she looked him in the eyes. "And that keeps us strong. It keeps us fighting. And it will make him come for me," Ulquiorra couldn't understand. Emotions like that were alien to him, and how the woman could see it as a strength, when it so clearly made them weak, was fascinating, but foolish.
"If he does, he is more of an idiot than I expected," he said coldly and left. Noting the tears sliding down the redhead's cheeks.
A/N: I wanted this scene in the fic itself, but it didn't really fit in anywhere, so I didn't force it. Still, I kinda liked it, so if you want to, you can read it here now^^, (not to be counted as an official part of the fic, and it will have no effect on the rest of it, so if you wanna skip it, it'll be ok ;) )
Deleted Scene:
Anya meets Grimmjow
Anya had teleported into the small Japanese town a few hours ago. The girl she was "helping" was young, and clearly heartbroken, but making her actually make a wish proved difficult. Anya rubbed her back comfortingly as the girl cried.
"There, there. Men are idiots, I know. Don't you just wish…" she trailed off intentionally, attempting to coerce the girl into saying it. A few minutes later the girl rubbed at her eyes and looked onto the ground furiously.
"Sometimes I just wish they'd know how it felt to be a woman," Anya sighed. It wasn't the most painful punishment, and not a whole lot of room for creativity on her part, but it was in her job description to fulfill the wish anyway. They wished it, she dished it.
"Done!" she said, as she left the girl behind. Across town two boys, who had just broken a girl's heart and mocked her for it, morphed into women. Anya had made sure to have a little fun though, as the previously handsome men became both weak and not too attractive. It was all she could do with what she had to work with after all. Oh well. There were more scorned women in this place, so she'd have more chances to get creative.
She was just about to teleport away when a familiar voice caught her ear. Turning around she looked right into the eyes of a tall, blue haired man. The man's eyes widened and he tried to turn away, but before he could she grabbed his sleeve.
"Xander?!" she exclaimed. "What happened to you? What are you doing here?"
"Oh, hi Anya. Didn't notice ya there," he said, rubbing the back of his head awkwardly.
"Who's this?" another voice asked. Only then did Anya notice the young man next to Xander.
Grimmjow and Ichigo had just been walking through town after a sparring session, arguing playfully about who had actually won, when Grimmjow looked right into the eyes of someone he did not expect to run into. Quickly trying to pretend as if he hadn't seen her, he discreetly looked away, but a hand caught his sleeve.
"Xander?!" the woman said. "What happened to you? What are you doing here?" So much for pretending…
"Oh, hi Anya. Didn't notice ya there," he said, rubbing the back of his head awkwardly.
"Who's this?" Ichigo wondered, scrutinizing the blonde woman. Bad. Really bad. Ex-fiancée's should not meet the new boyfriend!
"I'm Anyanka, Xander's ex," she said, slightly broken japanese flowing from her lips as she crossed her arms and raised a brow. "How do you know him?"
"We're… kinda dating," the boy said.
"Really?" Anya looked to Grimmjow.
"Yeah, we met through… err… a freestyle fighting contest," Grimmjow said, avoiding her scrutinizing eyes.
"So, you leave me, dye your hair blue get lame-ass tattoos under your eyes and turn gay?" her voice rose slightly. Grimmjow nearly gulped. Anya could get pretty scary when she was mad.
"Well… technically I was always bi. And the hair-and-tattoos thing is sort of… natural? Or supernatural anyway…" he trailed off.
"Did you even tell him how we broke up? Did he tell you, what's-your-name?" she ranted, turning to Ichigo mid sentence.
"It's Kurosaki Ichigo, and no, he didn't," Ichigo's brows furrowed.
"He proposed to me, you know. We were going to get married. And when I stood there in my beautiful, beautiful dress, ready to say the vows and have my 'happily ever after', he left. He just took off!" she said, glaring at Grimmjow. Ichigo's eyes widened and Grimmjow knew he'd be in trouble.
"What?"
"I've told you a million times that I'm sorry! I fucked up! And I really thought… wait…" Grimmjow studied her closer. He felt her reiatsu, and it was definitely not human! "What exactly are you doing here anyway?" he asked with a frown. She froze.
"What do you m-"
"Don't act all innocent. You're a vengeance demon again!" he cut her off.
"So what? That's none of your business. It stopped being your business when-" she blinked "wait… how did you know that?"
"Well, your reiatsu is-" he stopped, catching himself. She frowned and scrutinized him. Her eyes widened comically and she let out a gasp.
"You're not human! What… What are you?" she wondered. "What did you do?" Grimmjow glared at her.
"I died. Come on Ichigo, let's go," he said, not wishing to continue the conversation. The orange haired boy looked towards Anya.
"Don't you dare! I want some answers!" the woman said, grabbing Grimmjow's arm. He scowled at her and let out some of his own reiatsu, forcing her to let go.
"No. You have your life, and I have mine. Let's just move on and let each other be," he said, before beginning to walk away. Before he turned a corner he turned around to face her, shooting her a slight smile, so reminiscent of when he was human she almost recoiled.
"Oh, and Anya… I really am glad you're doing alright," he said before leaving with Ichigo. Anya remained paralyzed for a moment before smiling.
"You never were just average, huh, Xander. I'm glad you're ok too," she said, knowing he couldn't hear her, and teleported away.
