Katie was laying on the sofa, having been released from the hospital on bed rest. She hated it but she hated the hospital even more, so she was abiding by doctor's orders.

It wasn't so bad. Holly had kept her company all afternoon, before leaving for her music lessons. She had taken up playing the clarinet that summer and was in marching band, but she was still taking private lessons to try and catch up.

Hap and Rosalee had stopped by with food, then Nick had called frantic. Juliette had collapsed at work. The only thing wrong was that she'd been scratched by a cat earlier that morning. A cat she later found out belonged to Adlind Shade. After a tense discussion, Monroe and Rosalee had gone to the vet's office to find the cat so that Rosalee could run some kind of text on it. Hap had agreed to stay with Katie until Monroe got back.

He was trying to keep her mind off of what was going on, but she kept looking out the window and trying to get up at every sound.

After seeing the slightly green look she gave the vegan salmon they had brought, Hap closed the box. "Let's get a pizza," he said. "Or a hamburger. Or both. And maybe some ice cream. Since the health food nuts are out, let's just pig out. My treat. What do you say?"

Katie smiled. "Sure thing. One pizza with everything, no anchovies, two burgers all the way, cheese fries, and two milkshakes."

"Okay, and are you going to have anything?" he teased.

"That was for me," she replied with a laugh. "Take out menus are by the fridge. The good ones are on top of it."

Twenty minutes later, they were watching TV when the doorbell rang. Hap stood up, reaching for his wallet. "I wonder if that's the pizza, the burgers, or the ice cream?"

He opened the door. "You're not the pizza guy."

The dark haired man stared at him blankly. "I'm looking for Katie Burkhardt, I mean, Monroe. I'm looking for Katie Monroe."

Given the trouble of the previous day, Hap immediately woged. "You have to the wrong house, Dude."

The dark haired man just grinned at him. "So, you're the Blutbad. Not what I would have expected, but then I didn't expect my Katie to marry a Blutbad either."

"Grimm," Hap whispered before shifting back.

When Hap didn't return with food, Katie got to her feet and walked to the foyer. She stared at the man at the door.

"Hap," she said, very calmly. "You know I would normally never ask this of you, but kill that."

Hap snapped his head toward her, shocked. "What?!"

It wasn't for even half a second, but Reed was ready. He took advantage of Hap's shift in attention, hitting him in the lower back, knocking him to the ground, paralyzing him. He didn't want to hurt his son-in-law, but he did need him out of the way long enough to get to Katie to listen. He jumped over him and started towards Katie.

"Katie, sweetheart, listen to me, I know this is a shock, but it's me, Daddy," he said as she backed away.

"No, no. It's a trick. My father died when I was 6," she said, shaking her head. "Get out of here." She reached the wall and ran her hand down to the umbrella stand there, pulling out the baseball bat Monroe kept there. She swung it at him with all the force she could muster, but he easily side stepped the blow.

"Katelyn Marie, stop this and listen to me."

By this time, Hap had recovered and gotten to his feet. He grabbed Reed by the throat and threw him against the wall, holding him there with an arm across his chest. "What do you want me to do, Katie?"

Reed started talking; he could tell the Blutbad had every intention of killing if Katie said to. "Your name is Katelyn Marie Burkhardt. You were born on New Year's day, 1986."

"Any of that could be found online," she replied, holding the bat back up.

"Your first word was dada. Your favorite color was pink. You slept with stuffed wolf and had one that stood guard at the end of the bed. You hated wearing dresses," Reed rushed on. "Your…your first day of kindergarten, you didn't cry, you just said, 'Bye, Daddy. I'm going to play with the new toys and the beaver girls."

"The beaver girls." Katie finished with him. "Daddy," she whispered.
"Hap, let him go."

Hap stepped back, cautiously, still woged, ready to pounce.

Katie dropped her bat and then rushed into his arms. "Daddy!"

Reed gathered her up in a hug, "Katie-girl. My sweet girl."

They stood like that for a long minute. Katie had a million questions running through her head, but she kept quiet, afraid that if she spoke this spell would be broken and he would disappear as he and Kelly had in so many dreams. Finally, she had to let go.

"Man, that was close," Reed grinned. "I thought your husband was going to kill me."

Katie looked at him confused. "Do you mean Hap?"

She looked at Hap and both of them started laughing.
