Her eyes scrunched up, causing tears to squeeze out, she sniffed. Then sniffed again.

Jack got up quickly, "Sophie! It's okay! Its just a-"

"Snake," Sophie said. Almost in tears

"Yeah! It's-"

"Snake. Snake! SNAKE!"

Tears and snot started to run down her face. Blizzard started to slither towards her, but she shuffled backwards, like she had been bitten, until she hit the wall. Where she stayed, sitting with her face hidden behind her knees, sobbing quietly into her pants.

Jamie cringed at the sight, "um…Maybe you guys should…go…"

Jack nodded, "Got it, come on Blizzard, we're going,"

But the little snake, who had stopped moved. It didn't so much as look at Jack, but kept its eyes on the quivering girl. It quietly slithered close to the little blonde human, leaving a trail of ice patterns at its wake.

"No! Blizzard! Get back here!" Jack tried to stop himself from actually shouting, and kept his voice in a contained whisper. I know you feel bad for doing this, but this will NOT help the situation!

Bunny's gonna kill me.

Only a quick glance at the winter sprite's general direction indicated that Blizzard had heard Jack, who suddenly realized how annoying it was to be ignored.

Blizzard was only a few centimeters away from Sophie now. It slowly lifted its head off the ground, as if about to eat one of the little white bunnies that were dancing around in her pajamas.

I'm so dead, Jack thought.

Sophie gasped at the snake's freezing touch as its head nudged her leg.

Her wide green eyes followed Blizzard as it smoothly slid back, giving Sophie a better view of the reptile. Somehow, its unnatural colors gave her comfort. This was not a normal terrifying snake; it just looked like a normal terrifying snake. Like how the Easter Bunny just looked like a kangaroo but actually wasn't.

Now it was doing something with its head, pointing it to the spot it had touched.

She looked down.

"Pretty!"
