Banking on Tomorrow

Episode 14, Part 1

By Neoraichu

All Characters are the property of Frederator Studios, and I hope that the Manstache is something I dreamed up myself.

...

SheZow, the Manstache and the others waited for Maz while they waited for Megamonkey to attack the bank. He was switching into his new sidekick costume as they waited (inside a phone booth, of all places). The Shehicle was there as well as the She-Hind, the latter cloaked atop a nearby building, but presumably in a place where it could monitor the situation.

He emerged from the booth dressed like... some humanoid cash register.

"Maz?" asked SheZow, Kelly and Marilyn as one.

"Call me... Quick Change!" he replied, "I am the master of change!"

"That's..." said SheZow awkwardly.

"Awkward?" asked Kelly and Marilyn.

"Juvenile?" asked the Manstache.

"Inappropriate?" asked Gerald.

"Awesome!" said SheZow.

But Marilyn also stepped up and kissed Maz on the cheek. As she was close to him, she removed his "No Sale" button and replaced it with another red "No Sale" button.

"If you get in trouble," she whispered into his ear, "Push the red button."

"Thanks, super future Kelly babe," he said back, "What's it do?!"

"Oh, I know you're spontaneous, and you love living for the surprise, so I won't spoil it by telling you now. But I promise that you'll like it, and the villains won't. That's what important, isn't it?"

"Oh, I get you..."

When she stepped back, Kelly approached her and asked quietly, "What was that?"

"Oh, it's something he could have used the last time," replied Marilyn, "This might be the last time I know what's going to go down in the future. It is the exact same sidekick choice he made when it was just him and me against Megamonkey, Mocktopus, and the Candy Rapper, after all. It wasn't our worst effort, but it was an indicator of how things would go without SheZow fighting at our side."

"Ah, I see. Did you make that yourself?"

"Yes, I had some experience with electronics and super devices in my efforts to make up for the loss of SheZow and the Manstache. Perhaps now it will come in more useful. I want to do everything I can to change the future for the better..." Her voice trailed off as she looked at Kelly, and then glanced over at Maz. "You know, you could do a lot worse than him..."

"What?!" spluttered Kelly, "What are you trying to imply?!"

"Oh, it's nothing important," replied Marilyn awkwardly, "but it doesn't matter anyways. Megamonkey should be attacking the bank from the sky any minute now."

"The sky?!"

"Yeah, I always wondered where he got those military cargo helicopters from..."

As if on cue, three twin-rotor military cargo helicopters painted banana yellow came into view over the bank. Apparently Megamonkey increased their stealth qualities, because Kelly could swear she didn't hear them until they were right over head.

"I didn't think Mocktopus or Candy Rapper could pilot," observed Kelly.

"They can't!"

"Then who?!.."

"He's been training his mini-minions."

"Oh... Well he's about to get a rude surprise! They all are!"

"So are you!" replied Marilyn, "You might want to take cover now!" She dragged Kelly behind the corner of the building with her as the door guns started shooting high-velocity bananas at anything that moved. The guns were manned by the mini-minions.

"He's wasting food!" growled Kelly.

"They're already rotten," replied Marilyn, "but that's not the point! They'll still hurt a lot if you should get hit with them!"

"Don't worry," said SheZow, "A few well placed Ballistic Fishnets should take care of those bad boys!"

So she shot her fishnets at the ends of the guns, capping them and making the bananas back up in the netting. But the mini-minions were already dropping the rappelling lines for themselves as well as Mocktopus and Candy Rapper. Megamonkey himself was nowhere to be seen, and strangely, Marilyn wasn't even looking towards the helicopters. She was looking about a mile away at the top of a skyscraper.

"The street is clear, so this shouldn't do much damage!" said the Manstache, "Super stache slam!" His mustache arms grabbed the lines from one of the helicopters, and with a massive pull, brought the whole thing crashing down into the street. It almost landed on top of the Mocktopus, who nimbly dodged out of the way.

"HEY!" said the Mocktopus, "He's not supposed to be here! What's the deal?!"

"Now I gotta rap," said Candy Rapper, "about this SheZow crap. We might got shoot to fear, cuz I think that SheZow's here. Megamonkey got it yo wrong, makin me rap this all in this here song."

"Really?!" asked SheZow, "That's the best yo got?!"

"Well one if you is about to get all (w)rapped up in me!" The monster lunged at Quick Change, who pushed the red button. A bunch of coins came flying out of his change tray. The look on the Mocktopus' face was rather precious when he slammed into a force bubble made of small coins around Quick Change.

"Score one for being prepared," said Marilyn quietly.

"CHEATER!" screamed the Mocktopus.

"Hey," said Quick Change, "That is so awesome cool!"

"Let's see if you can deal with a sugar rush," said Candy Rapper, "This ain't no puny mush!" He bombed Quick Change with exploding jaw breaks which also had no effect against the shield made of small change.

"Yeah, I suppose that would have come in handy the... last time..." said Kelly as she glanced over at Marilyn.

Manstache grabbed the ropes of another chopper and slammed it down into the street.

"You'll need these!" shouted Marilyn as she tossed something towards SheZow that looked like... tweezers?! SheZow snatched them out of the air just as a rocket was fired down at her from the last helicopter. The tweezers grew enormous and simply grabbed the rocket out of the air with no apparent effort on SheZow's part.

"Those are the Titanic Turbo She-tweezers!" said Marilyn.

"The what?" asked Kelly.

"I made those last night too."

"Oh..."

SheZow turned and tossed the rocket in the direction of the bay where it wouldn't hurt anything... hoped Marilyn and Kelly.

"You wrap the candy," said Manstache, "I'll put the finishing touches on the sushi!"

"Sounds like a plan!" agreed SheZow.

Candy Rapper sent exploding jaw breakers at SheZow, but she used ballistic fishnets to not only send them back, but trap the candy villain along with them when they went off.

"Candy Rapper don't wanna rap cuz Candy Rapper feel like..." He coughed and passed out before finishing the sentence.

The Manstache faced off against the Mocktopus.

"Ah, for want of sticky rice," noted the Manstache.

"Well, isn't that amusing?" mocked the Mocktopus.

"Actually, this is amusing: Hairy Haymaker!" The Manstache used his mustache to give a powerful uppercut to the Mocktopus' chin and sent them flying several stories up into the air.

"No, I'm not amused!" said the monster as they fell back down.

"Oh, I thought you meant me," he replied as he socked Mocktopus in the gut just before hitting the ground.

"Say, where's Megamonkey?" asked Kelly as she looked around, "And where's Marilyn?"

"I haven't seen either," said Manstache.

"Me neither," said SheZow.

"I hope she hasn't gone off somewhere to get into trouble," muttered Kelly.

"I'm sure she's fine... wherever she is."

"Well the choppers are down and these miscreants are arrested," commented the Manstache, "I guess we can just wait for..."

"Freeze!" said Officer Boxter, "What's going on here?! Who's going to clean up this mess?! Why do I think this is SheZow's fault?!"

"Well officer, we've foiled a bank robbery, that's what sanitation engineers get paid for, and she's just doing her job as a super hero."

"Oh..."

"And here's your Megamonkey," said another who came in wearing a pink battlesuit. It was a skin-tight jumpsuit affair with a mini-skirt that kinda made her look like some Power Ranger wannabe. Even the helmet had a black plastic visor that one could not see through. She indeed was holding Megamonkey by his arm. In her other hand was Megamonkey's staff.

"Who are you?" asked the Officer.

"Me? I'm... well... call me... that is..."

"Do you have a name or not?!"

"There's no need to get testy," interrupted SheZow.

"Vigilante!"

"You make that sound bad! Besides, I'm SheZow! Vigilante is another comic entirely!"

"Huh?!"

"Nothing."

The woman tossed Megamonkey into the police car, the staff to Kelly, and then took Officer Boxter aside. There, they whispered something to each other. He suddenly seemed to change his disposition as they came back.

"I'm sorry I didn't recognize you earlier, Officer Nightwatcher. Of course you can't say who you really are out loud, but as long as we understand each other, things are just fine."

"Thank you for understanding, but duty calls. Nightwatcher away!" And the mystery woman just flew out of sight.

"Hmm... I wonder who that was?" asked Kelly, "And where's Marilyn?"

The Great Mustard Dog Assault

Episode 14, Part 2

By Neoraichu

"Sorry, I was calling the Police," said Marilyn, "Did I miss anything?"

"Just the capture of MegaMonkey, Moctopus and Candy Rapper," replied Kelly.

"Darn," she mused, "Well I hope I'm there for the next bust."

"Can't wait for a mustard sneak attack," grumbled Kelly, "even if this isn't my favorite jogging suit."

"I suppose."

"You even missed out on the mystery super-heroine."

"The who?"

"The woman in the pink suit."

"Oh, I did see someone flying away from this area. Is that what that was?" asked Marilyn curiously.

Kelly nodded.

"Well I hope she's on our side."

"Apparently," replied Kelly, "At least she captured MegaMonkey for us."

"Perhaps I'll meet her the next time she shows up," said Marilyn with a shrug.

"Perhaps."

"And we still have plenty of time to stop SheZap too."

"I guess we do at that."

"It's been such a long time since I've had a genuine vendor hot dog," mused Marilyn with a little sigh, "Perhaps we can find a good cart while we wait for SheZap?"

"Sure. I could go for a soft pretzel too."

"Lightly salted and toasted on one side?"

"Oh, you remember that?"

"Of course."

Kelly turned to SheZow and Manstache as the loaded the MegaMonkey Staff into the She-Hind. "Hey," she said, "Let's go to the park and get something to eat while we wait for SheZap to show up. It's my treat."

"Works for me," said SheZow.

"If it is not an inconvenience," said the Manstache.

"I wouldn't offer if it was," she replied.

"It's too bad I don't come with actual money," sighed Quick Change.

"That's because you aren't supposed to make actual sales," replied Marilyn.

"I guess."

She walked over to Maz and whispered to him, "By the way, when you see SheZap, you need to hit the following sequence: 1-2-9-5-No Sale."

"What will that do?"

"I can't tell you that. It's a surprise."

"Oh, I like surprises."

"I'm sure you will."

Kelly simply raised an eyebrow as she looked at Marilyn and Maz. It was about then that she glanced at her watch and said, "Only 40 minutes until SheZap attacks, so we should get going people."

So the little troupe made their way over to the City Park where SheZap was expected to make their attack. As promised, Kelly purchased hot dogs loaded with the best toppings and soft pretzels for everyone. They were all hot and fresh from the vendor's cart. Taking their purchases, they went over to a picnic table to enjoy them.

Just as they were almost finished, Sheila-2 buzzed SheZow on the comm. "Sorry to bother you, but my scanners have detected SheZap approaching, and it looks like she brought some toys with her."

"Toys?" asked SheZow.

"Curse him," muttered Marilyn, "She was supposed to be coming here alone! I bet Dark Snide-R must be trying to alter the past himself! He must still think he can make sure that his future can come to pass even if SheZow is back in the past!"

"Stay calm. I'm sure these robots can't be any better than the ones we faced in the future. He just doesn't have the tech or the resources. This shouldn't be all that much of a problem."

"Don't get cocky," she scolded SheZow, "Any of you. He's cunning and devious. If you have any weakness, he'll find a way to use it against you." She leaned close to Kelly and whispered, "Especially you. He's charming and alluring, and he could still seduce you. You have to be wary of anything he says, because he doesn't mean any compliment or offer he might make."

"Hey, I wasn't born yesterday," replied Kelly, "You've already warned me about him, so I don't think I'll fall for his charms... this time."

"Let's get this show on the road, people," said SheZow, "Those flying toasters won't wreck themselves, you know!"

"I agree verily!" said the Manstache.

Then off in the distance, they heard the sound of crushed metal and screams of "My blouse! I'll never get those mustard stains out of it!"

"Okay," said SheZow, "I'll engage SheZap while Manstache and Quick Change deal with those pesky robots!"

"We'll help with the crowd control," offered Kelly as she pulled Marilyn closer.

"Good idea," she replied, "Let's go!"

"Maybe we should adopt a battle cry like 'Shevengers Assemble!'" suggested Marilyn.

"The Shevengers?" asked SheZow, "Maybe we can do something with that..."

"Later," said the Manstache, "We got stains to stop and robots to wreck first!"

"How many people are we planning to include in our little club?" asked Kelly.

"Who knows," replied Marilyn.

"I suspect you might know a little more than you're letting on."

"Who? Me?"

"Yes. You."
