It's been a while since we had a Rosalie & James Point of Views. So, here they are! :)
Chapter 11:
(Rosalie P.O.V)
Bright, neon lights everywhere you look. Lots of people coming and going from store to store. Fast race cars speed by our white van. Stopping in front of a building, all the men got out, leaving James and me alone.
Looking around, I tried to find a way for us to escape. Noticing the men took the keys for the van, so James and I couldn't drive away. Like we can drive anyways. Counting five doors, two in front, two in the middle and the trunk. Only two of them are blocked with men.
The van door James and I are leaning against is unlocked and facing a what looked like a recreation of Pairs' Eiffel Tower. I remember Mrs. Story, my kindergarten teacher, reading us a book about a rat that's a cooks in a famous restaurant in Pairs.
Knowing I had to move fast before the men climbed back inside.
"James," I whispered, pointing. "Do you that tall looking structure?"
"The gold one, yes," he answered, nodding his head.
"We're going to run there as fast as can, alright."
We need to find someone who can help us or lend us a phone to use. Knowing I can't take one of the men's phone, fear that they might have tracking devises in them. Yes, I watch too spy movies and yes, I picked up a few helpful things while watching them.
"Where are we going?"
Looking back the men who are huddled in a group, I knew if we opened the door quietly we can make a run for it.
"Help me open the door. Quietly though."
Pulling the handle, I kept an eye on the men while helping James open the door. When there was enough space, we climbed out. Feeling the cold air around me as we tried to close the door. Taking on last look at the men before grabbing James' hand and running toward safety.
We only a few minutes before the men came looking for us, meaning we need to find a phone and fast. Going under the Eiffel Tower and straight for the big building behind it. Pushing pass the many people in there until we came to a lady at the front desk.
"May I help you?" She asked.
"I need to use your phone," I gasped. "I need to call my parents."
She looked at me and James in confusion. "Didn't you come here with your parents?"
"No, we were kidnapped," I told her truthfully. "These mean men are chasing us!"
I don't know if that was true or not, but she didn't need to know that. Nodding her head, the lady picked up phone next her and started dialing some numbers.
Is she going to help us? James asked inside my head. Are we finally going home?
That's a good question James! To be honest, I don't really know. What I do know is that this lady doesn't believe James and me at all. Those horrible men can come any minute now and take us away again. James and I don't have time to wait around while this lady talks on the phone to God knows who.
"No, there's only two," the lady said into the phone. "Yes, they're all alone...No, they claim some mean men have kidnapped them..."
I starred at her in outraged. Who does she think she is? Of course mean, horrible men kidnapped us! I can't believe what I'm hearing.
She thinks we're lying, Rosie. James sad voice echoed through my thoughts. Why doesn't she believe us? We're telling the truth.
Having enough of this. I grabbed James' hand and took off running toward the back of the building. Hearing the lady yell at someone to grab us as we ran toward the doors.
Humans are slow, they were no match for a dhampir and a Moroi. James and I ran out of the building without anyone grabbing us. It's a good thing that the building was next to a giant park and when I say giant, I mean GIANT.
This park was almost the same size as the Moroi court. Maybe a little smaller. Looking behind my shoulder, I saw no one chasing us. But, that didn't stop James and me from running.
We ran until we were on the other side of the massive lake, far away from the building and those men. Stopping behind a huge oak tree so, James and I could catch our breathes.
We make a pretty good team! James smiled at me. We could be the new Batman and Robin. Of course, you'll be Batwoman while I'm your fun, loving sidekick Robin.
"Oh, James," I said, laughing. "You never fail to make me smile."
Right then, James smiled his adorable little boy smile. As much as I love to stay here and talk about Batwoman and her sidekick Robin, I knew we had to a move before they came looking for us.
"Come on, Robin," I said, lacing my fingers through his. "We need to keep moving."
"Where are we going?"
Hopefully to get something to eat. I'm starving! There has to be place where we can both eat and be safe at. Isn't there a Moroi place here? There has to be! If we can just find it in this giant city.
"James, do you know if there's any Moroi places around here?" I asked him. "If we find it then the guardians will be able to call our parents to come get us."
I really hope there is one here and that it's only a few minutes away! James shrugged while he racked his brain for a memory of a Moroi place here. A coffee shop? A school? A restaurant? Anything that has guardians who can protect us from those horrible men.
(James P.O.V)
As Rosie and I walked through the park, I tried to remember what the name of the Moroi hotel is called. Sighing, I turned to my best friend.
I know there's one here and what it looks like, but I can't remember the name. I hope that's all we need.
"It is," Rosie assured me, squeezing my hand gently. "If you remember what it looks like then we don't the name. But, we do need to hurry before it gets dark."
I think I'm the only vampire in the whole world who doesn't like the dark. Yes, I know I'm a vampire and I should love the dark, but to you tell you the truth...I hate it. Bad things, very bad things happen at night.
Even though the sun bothers me, I kind of like it better. Yes, I know I'm weird and I'm okay with that. If I wasn't weird then Rosie and I wouldn't of became friends.
"I don't just like you because you're weird," Rosie said, reading my thoughts. "I like you because my little dork and every person needs a fun, loving James."
Smiling, I hugged my best friend. I'm super glad I met someone like her! I don't care if we're not the same race. I kind of love having a friend who's a dhampir. Rosie makes life worth living for.
Okay, so I got the last part out of a book my father read to me. So, what. It's true! Beside me, Rosie laughed. She's probably still reading my thoughts. I tried to punch her in her arm, but ended up tickling her instead.
"Aw, Jim, look," an lady with a thick Russian accent said to her husband, smiling at Rosie and me. "You two are the cutest things ever!"
Rosie, do you think they will give us a ride to the hotel? I asked, moving closer to her.
The old couple looked very nice, but you can never be sure. It's a good thing Rosie is with me.
"Young lady, you look like someone I met before," the old lady continued, looking over at my best friend. "Yes, you do! But, she was much older and I met her in Russia."
Rosie, what is this lady talking about? Who's the person she met in Russia? Could it be your mom? I had so many questions, it was hard to chose which ones to ask.
"What's her name?" Rosie asked the old lady. "The girl in Russia, what was her name?"
The old lady looked over at her husband then at Rosie. "I don't recall her telling us her name, but I do she was a dhampir."
Did I hear this right? Is it just me or did she say dhampir? I believe she just said it like it was a common word for humans. The lady took one look at our shocked and laughed.
"I'm sorry," she said, muffling her laughs. "I'm Mary. This is my husband Jim-" she gestured to the old man next to her. "He was an alchemist before he retired. It's alright, we want to help. We know about your world."
Our world? Oh, she means the vampire world. Okay, now I get it. But, what is an alchemist and how do they know about us?
Rosie, do you know what's going on? I asked, hoping she does because I'm clearly lost.
Rosie looked over her shoulder in the direction of the building we ran away from. Turning around, she looked at the old couple.
"Horrible men kidnapped us and we need to get to the Moroi hotel before they find us," she said in a rush.
Horror flashed over the old lady's face. Covering her mouth with her hands, it looked like she was trying not to freak out in front of us. Jim was the one who spoke up.
"Come with us. We'll get you where you need to be," he said through his thick Russian accent, ushering Rosie and me to follow him and Mary.
They are nice after all, but it still doesn't answer my question about how they know about our world. Shrugging my shoulders, I followed the old couple toward there car.
"Are you going to be alright, Mary?" I asked her, seeing all the color drain from her face at the mention of us being kidnapped. "We're fine. They didn't hurt us."
I wouldn't let anything happened to Rosie. I would protect her no matter what. She's my only friend. My only true friend. She accepts me for me and love her for that.
"I love you too, James," Rosie whispered, squeezing my hand.
"Here we are," Jim said, reaching in his pants pocket for his keys.
Jim unlocked the doors and Mary helped Rosie and me into the back seat. Shutting the door, she went into the front with Jim.
Next stop...the Moroi hotel! I exclaimed in Rosie's head, excited that we're so close to getting back to our parents. We did it, Rosie!
She smiled and moved closer to hug me. Yes, we did it! We finally did it!
I don't know about you, but I love Rosalie's and James' friendship!
Like? Hate? Let me know!
Thanks(:
