Chapter 20:
(Rose P.O.V)
"Is he going to be alright, doc?" I asked for the millionth time.
Having no idea what happened to my older brother, I started to panic. One minute we were talking and the next Eddie was on the ground having a seizure. I don't know what caused him to s seizure. No one touched him or anything.
"Rose, it's hard to tell when he shows no symptoms of having a seizure," the doctor answered, looking back down at his clipboard.
"But, he's going to be okay, right?" I pushed, needing to get answers.
When the doctor didn't say anything, I knew I wasn't going to get any answers. My eyes started to water at the thought of losing another one of my big brothers. I buried my face in Dimitri's chest.
"I'll leave you guys alone," was all the doctor said before he left the room.
Once the was shut, I let the tears roll down my cheeks. How did this happen? Why did this happen? It was just me and Eddie in the hallway. Well...there was Ambrose, but he didn't stay for too long.
Does he have something to do with Eddie having a seizure? I groaned. My head was still throbbing from everything that's been going on lately. Whoever is behind this is going to be in serious trouble when I get my hands on them.
"Roza, if it makes you feel better, I'll try to get some answers from the doctor," Dimitri whispered in my ear.
Looking up at him, I forced myself to smile a little, sad smile. Wrapping his strong arms around me, I didn't want him to let me go.
"I'll be back in few," Dimitri said, kissing me lightly on the lips. "Are you going to be okay staying here?"
"Dimitri, you heard the doctor. I'm fine and so is our baby," I assured him. "Doc knows how worried you get about the ones you loves. Plus, he would never betray his friends."
Dimitri nodded his head in agreement and kissed me one last time before going after the doctor. I guess it's a good thing that I'm married to a man who has lots of friends he can trust with anything.
Sighing, I went over the edge of the bed. Eddie laid perfectly still on the white, hospital bed. I wonder what he's dreaming about or if he's dreaming at all. Sitting down in a chair next the bed, I watched him.
Bringing his pale white hand in mine, I squeezed it. Letting him know I'm here and I'm not leaving his side. Leaning my head against his side, I listened to his faint heartbeat inside his chest.
(Eddie P.O.V)
I went from total darkness to standing in the middle of a small room filled with photos of Rose, Mason and me. Photos of when we were little to us growing up and graduating high school.
Everywhere I turn there is more and more photos of us. Talking a deep breathe, I walked over to a large, wooden desk that sat in front of a window looking out at a forest. Moving a pile of photos, I saw a tan colored document under them. Documents with our names on them.
Opening one of the documents with Mason's name on it, I was shocked at what I saw. The document listed where Mason was born and what day. Both his parents names. All the academies he attended and the teachers he had.
The people he hung out with. Who he spent more time with. Rose and Me. His class schedules for middle and high school. Who his mentor was. Where and when he use to train. This document has Mason's whole life in it!
By the time I was done reading it, my whole body was shaking. I didn't bother reading the documents with Rose's and mine names on it, afraid I might find the same thing. Backing away from the desk to the middle of the room.
"I was scared too when I first saw this," a voice I miss so much said from somewhere behind me.
Turning around slowly, I tried to brace myself for what was to come. The one person I thought I lost forever was only standing a few feet in front of me. He was wearing the same clothes he had on the day...taking a deep breathe, I forced myself to talk.
"Mason," I breathed, feeling my eyes watering. "It is really you?"
"The one and only," he answered with a sad smile.
Without thinking twice, I ran after him. Throwing my arms around his neck, I hugged him with everything I have. I smiled when I felt his arms go around my back. We stayed like this for a while.
It felt so nice to be close to my brother again after so many years. I miss him so much that it hurt to let him go. Not knowing what to do or say, we just starred at each other.
"So, I guess you have a million questions about why there's a lot of photos of Rose and us," Mason said after a while.
"And why there's documents of our entire lives too," I added, not understanding what's going on here. "Am I dreaming or is this all real?"
Mason shook his head. "It's a dream, but this room is real and it belongs to someone we all know and trust for a long time."
I was afraid to ask who that person is and why they have photos and documents of us. He said it's someone we all know and trust for a long time. There's a lot of people know, but a few we trust.
"Short. Blonde, curly hair. Use to be a major bitch to Rose and Lissa," Mason listed. "And the only reason she's being nice to us now is because she's working with our enemy who is locked up in jail at this very minute."
Short. Blonde, curly hair. Use to be a bitch. Being nice to us now. Working with our enemy who is locked up in jail. It all hit me like a that. I knew the person Mason was describing.
"Mia," I said, feeling totally furious that my friends and I are being used for another one of Mia's games.
But, this time it's different. Totally different. Back at high school she made our lives miserable. But, now that we're in real world and away from the academy, I'm betting she wants to do more than just make our lives miserable.
"You have to be careful, Eddie," Mason warned, gripping my shoulders. "You don't know what she's planning. You have no idea what Mia can do to you. She's the reason you and Rose ended up in the hospital."
"Rose is hurt?" It more of a statement than a demand. "I have to wake up, now!"
"Eddie, remember!" Mason shouted, shaking me. "Don't let her know that you're on to her. Alright?"
"Alright."
"Promise you'll be extra careful."
"I promise, Mase" It felt so good saying his nick name again. "But, how did she make Rose and me end up in the hospital?"
Mason sighed. "I don't really know, Eddie. What I do know is that she's behind-"
All of a sudden, Mason and this creepy room we are in started to fade in and out. I grabbed a hold of Mason as my vision began to blur and the room around us was spinning.
"Mason, I think I'm waking up!" I shouted, interrupting him mid-sentence.
His eyes grew wide. "Okay. Eddie, listen carefully. This creepy room is in Mia's apartment. There's a key under a blue mat in the bathroom. Once you get the key and unlock the door, you're in. All the answers are in this room. If you can't get in this room then just grab the key and lock it away safely where no one can find it. Did you get all this?"
I nodded my head as Mason's form turned into pure blackness.
(Rose P.O.V)
Moaning, I slowly opened my eyes and saw that I was in my own bed in mine and Dimitri's bedroom. He must have carried me here after I fell asleep. I seriously think that man can carry anything. Big or small.
"Mommy, you wake?" Tyler asked in his cute baby voice.
His little face was only inches from mine as he smiled down at him. Laughing, I kissed his tiny, fish lips.
"You sleep good?" he asked, still smiling.
How can he be smiling when Eddie is in the hospital? Oh...yeah. Neither Tyler nor Rosalie know about what happened. That makes sense now.
"Yeah, sweetie," I answered, sitting up. "I slept fine."
"James here!" Tyler said excitedly. "He in Rosie room!"
"Little man, why don't go play with the other kids while I talk to mommy," Dimitri's Russian accent filled the air around us.
Kissing me on the lips again before he ran out of the bedroom. Sighing, I laid down again. I've done a lot of sighing today. Laying down next to me, Dimitri drew circles on my bare arms.
"I have some answers, but they're probably not the ones you're looking for," he said, face giving nothing away.
Taking a deep breathe, I nodded my head. I need to know what's going on. I need facts not guesses. I will do whatever I can to take down the enemy.
What do you think of the last chapter?
Thank you so much(:
