"Well, Nick, I tried to patient, but I got a limit."

"One day is your limit?"

"A day and a half." She corrected.

Phoenix sighed. They were in the office in the afternoon. In the morning they were they were both surprised by the hug of the other. Phoenix would never forget the feeling of awakening with medium's face against his chest and her arms around his waist, not even if a car runs him over again. In that moment she woke up and opened her eyes so much, as if she could not believe what happened. They both looked at each other. They stared at each other for a moment and then he kissed her in the forehead and she responded him by kissing him in the lips.

The morning went by fast, Phoenix felt insecure, wondering how things would be between he and Maya, but in that very moment he was worried about something else.

"Didn't the medic say that I shouldn't force myself to remember?"

"I won't force anything, Nick, I'm just… going to give your memories a 'little push'."

"You know. I don´t like the sound of that."

"Come on, I won't bash you in the head." She smiled. "Although, I heard that that sometimes works. I just to have to control myself…"

"Stay away from me." Phoenix stepped away, Maya looked at him as if she was trying to calculated the exact force she needed to bash him in the head without killing him.

"It was a joke, Nick, I was thinking something else." Maya laughed. "I was going to ask my sister for help."

"Your… sister? What sister?" Phoenix asked, puzzled.

"Mia."

"Maya… Mia is dead."

Maya made a weird smile.

"You see, Nick, the doctor said that another form of recovering your memories was to receive a surprise, you know, something stunning. It's not sure if it will work, but is better than hitting you in the head… So that's why I'm going to tell you something, and you better sit down…" He sat down in the sofa, trying to imagine what she was going to tell him. Was it going to be stunning? Could it be related to Mia's death? "Alright. Do you remember to story behind the DL-6? Because you should know that a medium helped the police find the murderer. And no only that, that medium was my mother."

Phoenix raised an eyebrow and opened his mouth to talk, but Maya raised her hand to indicate that she wasn't done yet.

"All the women in my family have the ability to communicate with the dead, including me, and Pearly. It's called channeling Kurain technique, and I think Pearly mentioned it; consist on letting a spirit enter your body. This has been very helpful on many trials."

There was an awkward silence in which Phoenix didn't even blink, he looked at Maya with an unidentifiable face. A few moments later he smiled.

"Wow, so it was that. I thank you for trying, but you could have made a more credible story…"

Maya sighed and closed her eyes.

"I imagined you would say that."

Phoenix's smile was plastered on his face and then it turned on a face of surprise. Maya was changing. She was growing on height, and her breast were getting bigger (Phoenix could not help himself to notice since her robes were getting skimpier for her) and her face seemed more mature. A beauty mark appeared in her cheek and when she opened her eyes, he found out that those weren't Maya's eyes.

"Hi, Phoenix." She calmly said with a smile.

"M-Maya?" He stammered.

"No, I'm not Maya, I'm just using her body, can't you remember your old chief?"

Phoenix jumped out of the sofa and stepped a bit closer to her, but he stood in the middle, as if he would not dare to step closer. She crossed her arms and smiled at his expression.

"Maya told me what happened to you. Before anything, I have to thank you for what you did for her."

"Mia?" Phoenix then asked in disbelief.

She smiled, pleased that he finally recognized her.

"Yes, Phoenix, It is me. I'm Mia."

Phoenix opened his mouth, but he didn't say anything; he then felt dizzy and his legs began to wobble. That was impossible, he could not be talking to Mia, It was impossible… He tried to back away but he tripped and fell on his back. A second later he felt a hit on the back of the head and everything went blurry, he could only hear Maya's yell of panic, not Mia's, before everything went black…
