A tornado of images and quotes swirled around him, in a real chaos of memories.

"We aren't heroes, Wright, we are just men…"

"The defense is ready, your honor."

"Just a foolish fool that lets himself be lead by the foolishness of another fool can come to such a foolish conclusion…"

"Mr. Wright, every time you point with your finger, somebody gets hurt…"

"The only one that's allowed to interrupt me is death itself…"

"The worse of the moments is when we must fake the best of our smiles."

"Yes, Phoenix, It is me. I'm Mia. "

"Mia!" Phoenix exclaimed, siting up with a jump.

"Nick!" He heard by his side, a pair of hands hold him by the shoulders and makes him calm down. "Thank goodness, you're okay!"

"What…? Where…?" He asked, confused.

He was laid on a very comfortable stretcher. His sight was blurry and he had problems distinguishing between the things around him, but he could see the person that was holding him, almost hugging him.

"Maya?"

"Stand back, please." A stern and masculine voice sounded on the other side, Maya let go of him and backed away, then the medic pointed an annoying light at Phoenix's eyes. "Could you tell me your name?"

"What? My name is Phoenix. Phoenix Wright… we already went through this, doctor… I'm fine."

The medic backed away for a moment and looked at him with insecurity, but then he smiled.

"It's the routine. I have to do it."

"What happened to me?" Phoenix asked, dizzy.

"Apparently you tripped, and you hit your head with a table. You lost consciousness and your friend called an ambulance."

He remembered the image of Maya changing her form, Phoenix took his hand to his forehead and closed his eyes with a wince of pain. He felt a piercing pain in the back of his head, but it didn't matter, he tried to remember what else happened… and he discovered that a part of his mind that was until that moment obscured was getting clearer. He explored that part of his mind and soon, data started to enter his head.

"Maya…" He slowly said. "When we meet, during Mia's case… the definitive evidence was a statue… that Larry made, isn't it?"

The medium nodded slowly, with her wide eyes. Phoenix continued.

"A few months ago I defended a mage in a circus, right? One that was wearing a pink, top hat."

"Max Galactica!" The girl exclaimed and the lawyer smiled. "Nick, your memory is back!"

"No… just a few parts, but everything is getting more clear" Phoenix mumbled.

"Those are excellent news." The medic got closer to him and looking at him with attention. "If that's true, it's probable that soon you will remember all of your past."

"But, why did I started to remember now?"

"Well, it's not a conventional method, but an almost common type of cure for a strong amnesia is a hit on the head." The medic commented in deep thought. "I wouldn't recommend it, of course. Trying to access your memory like that is like entering while busting the door of your house, the entire building could come crashing down…"

"What?" Phoenix exclaimed, alarmed.

"Don't worry, it won't leave any long-lasting consequences. Well, maybe a headache for a few days, but that will go away."

"I told you!" Maya exclaimed, laughing with joy.

"I have to go and inform about this, I'll be back in a few minutes." With that, the medic exited the room.

Phoenix closed his eyes again. Everything was there; all of his memories, all of his past, he just have to dig everything out. He opened his eyes to look at Maya, waiting to find her usual expression of happiness, but she showed insecurity in her face.

"Maya, what's wrong?"

"Well… I was afraid that, now that you are you again… that now you don't…"

Phoenix understood.

"That things would be different? That I was going to go back in what I said?" He smiled. "Don't be silly, I'm still me, the Phoenix that couldn't remember and the Phoenix before the accident are the same person, with the same feelings"

She beamed at him and before he could see it coming, she throws herself at him and hugged him.

"Careful, my head!"

"Sorry." She apologized. "It's just that I feared for the worst…"

"I though you would be more optimistic. Where's the Maya that's always secure of herself and doesn't stop to think about the consequences that I'm aware of?"

"It's just that when Mia gave me back my body and I found you on the floor, I was afraid that you would be… Well, I realize that you have suffered a lot for my fault, although I was just trying to help.

"And something tells me that I have a lot more to suffer." Phoenix commented. "But I'm sure it will be worthy."

Maya smiled and kissed him for his sweetness.

The both of them spend a few more moments together, in silence, before Phoenix said something.

"I just remembered something else."

"What?" Maya asked, looking with curiosity.

"I hate the Steel Samurai."
