You're reviews have been so amazing so thank you and I hope that you enjoy this chapter. It's dedicated to every single person whose read this story, thank you for everything!
I think we have one chapter left which is devastating but I think I might write more Doctor Who stories, depending on what you think.
Pulling her jacket on so she was now completely dressed, River sighed as she glanced across at her luggage before looking back at the clock on her wall. She still had over an hour before they would arrive to take her to the Library. Putting the co-ordinates into her vortex manipulator, River smiled before she left her home and appeared outside an unfamiliar house. The Doctor had given her the details earlier in the evening and here she was, staring at the house of her daughter. Knocking on the door, River smiled as it opened to reveal a man who she guessed with the father of Artie and Angie.
"Hi I'm looking for Clara," River smiled as the man nodded and called Clara's name up the stairs, the sound of footsteps making River's smile larger as she watched her daughter in amazement. "Hello," River said quietly as Clara stood there in shock before running over and tightly wrapping her arms around the older woman's neck. "I'm a friend of the family's," River stated as she glanced across at Mr Maitland who was watching them in confusion, especially since Clara had silently started crying. "Do you want to go somewhere?" River whispered as she looked down at Clara who had her face buried into River's shoulder.
"Let's go into my room," Clara stated as she moved away and walked up the stairs, River following in silence before she entered the neat room with a small smile on her face. "I wasn't expecting you River," Clara commented as she brushed the tears away from her face and smiled at the other woman who was hovering in the doorway. "You don't have to stand in the doorway, you can come in," she stated, forcing a smile onto her face as she looked at her mother who slowly stepped inside, closing the door behind her.
"You're acting like the Doctor," River commented as confusion covered Clara's face. "You're trying to act happy," she stated, moving to sit down beside her daughter as the brunette continued to stare at her before looking down. "Clara, I know that something's upsetting you," River whispered as she found her daughter's hand and squeezed it.
"River I…" Clara began, falling silent when River shook her head. "You need to know," she stated.
"I can't know anything Clara, if it has anything to do with my future you can't tell me even the smallest detail," River explained as she squeezed Clara's hand again, trying desperately to reassure her. "I can tell, just from looking at the two of you, that there's something wrong but you can't tell me sweetie," she smiled as Clara shook her head, desperately trying to tell her.
"But River…" Clara began again, tears running down her cheeks as River shook her head and rested her hand on her daughter's cheek.
"No Clara," River warned as she stared at her. "You can't risk telling me anything sweetie, no matter how important you think it is. If you tell me something it could change everything that's happened in my life. It could have affected me meeting the Doctor and marrying him and having you and I would never change any of that," she stated before leaning forward and pressing a kiss to her daughter's forehead. "You and the Doctor are my life Clara and I don't want you to risk any of that. I don't want anything to change," she smiled as tears continued to run down Clara's cheeks.
"I'm sorry," Clara sighed as she wiped away her tears again and forced herself to smile again.
"It's okay, it's difficult I know but you get used to it," River whispered before leaning forward and pressing a kiss to her forehead.
"I don't want to get used to it," Clara exclaimed as she stood up and moved towards her window, looking out to see the TARDIS now parked outside and the Doctor walking out with tears running down his cheeks. Watching him look up at her, Clara shook her head at him before he nodded and disappeared inside the blue box again. "It's not fair. This whole family is built on lies, no one can say anything really because it might change the future. My life has been nothing but lies," the brunette moaned as the tears began to run down her cheeks again while River shut her eyes and tried to think of what to say to her daughter.
"I know it's hard Clara but that's the problem of having time travellers in your family and your life hasn't all been a lie. Your parents didn't stop being your parents because they're not your biological parents, they still loved and raised you," River stated as she stood up and walked towards her daughter, her hand resting on Clara's shoulder as the young woman remained perfectly still. "No matter what happens it's not going to stop the fact that you're also my beautiful little girl and I've loved you since before you were even born," she stated as Clara turned to face her, a small smile covering her face as River wiped her tears away. "Now stop crying."
"Can I hug you?" Clara asked as River nodded, smiling when her daughter wrapped her arms around her tightly. "Thank you for coming to see me," she whispered as River smiled and held her daughter close for a moment. "You should probably go if you want to make it on time, the Doctor is outside," Clara admitted as River sighed and nodded before stepping away from her.
"I'll come and see you after the Library," River smiled as Clara nodded slowly before leading River downstairs and out of the building.
"River," the Doctor called out as he walked out of the TARDIS just as River stepped outside of Clara's home.
"Give me two seconds Doctor," River replied before pressing a kiss to Clara's forehead. "Smile sweetie, I don't want to see you crying," she explained before stepping away, Clara remaining perfectly still as she watched River approach the Doctor while he forced another smile onto his face and wrapped his arms around his wife. "What are you doing here Doctor?"
"I realised there was something I was supposed to tell you today which I forgot to say," he admitted as her eyebrows rose. Leaning down slowly, the Doctor smiled as he quietly told her what she needed to know while shock covered her face.
"Doctor," River said in amazement as he nodded, a laugh leaving her lips as she leant up and kissed him gently, knowing that Clara was still watching.
"That's my real name River," he whispered as she stared at him, unable to stop herself from smiling at him. "I love you and I trust you more than anything in the world, you're the only person who knows my name. My greatest secret which I expect you to keep," he said quietly as she nodded slowly, understanding the importance of what he'd just told her before kissing him again.
"I need to go," River moaned as she pulled away from him, the Doctor watching as she moved away and began to play with the vortex manipulator. "I love you and I'll see you soon," she stated, knowing that she couldn't risk being late for this. "Go and hug our daughter, I think she needs it," she added before she disappeared from sight. Turning around, the Doctor sighed at the sight of their daughter in her doorway with her arms crossed around her chest.
"Come here," the Doctor sighed as she walked over slowly and allowed him to wrap his arms tightly around her body. "It's going to be okay Clara, everything's going to be okay," he said quietly, trying not to think about the fact that she'd just gone to her death.

"Where are we going?" Clara asked quietly as they sat in the TARDIS next to each other, the Doctor shaking his head as he glanced across at the console to see that they were definitely going somewhere. Standing the Doctor slowly moved towards the door when they landed before opening it, immediately shutting it while Clara watched from her seat. "Where are we?" she questioned as he remained perfectly still, his head shaking in disbelief. They couldn't be here! He needed to leave. "Doctor where are we?" she demanded before she stood up and walked towards the door, opening it as he remained perfectly still. Stepping out of the TARDIS, Clara watched in the distance as River hit a strange man before handcuffing him and moving towards a chair. "River," Clara called out, not thinking about what she was doing as River turned around in shock.
"You shouldn't be here Clara," River whispered as Clara ran towards her and tightly wrapped her arms around River. "You need to go now, you need to go home now," she stated, forcing a smile onto her face as she brushed her fingers across her daughter's cheeks before looking up to see the Doctor stepping out of the TARDIS. "You…" she began before shaking her head while he walked towards her and tightly wrapped his arms around the two women in his life. "Doctor," River said quietly as she looked up at her husband while he continued to hug both her and Clara.
"Clara I need you to go into the TARDIS," the Doctor stated as Clara shook her head, not wanting to leave. "Please," he said quietly as Clara looked up at the older woman who smiled down at her for a moment, clearly trying not to cry.
"Mum," Clara whispered before pressing a kiss to her mother's cheek before disappearing into the TARDIS.
"I'm going to die," River said simply as the Doctor shut his eyes, hating the sound of her saying that. He wanted to stop it. He wanted to find some way of saving her so they could carry on their lives together. "And that's okay sweetie," she whispered as she brushed her fingers across his cheek while he slowly opened his eyes. "I wouldn't change anything, we've had an amazing life together," River smiled quietly before leaning up and kissing him gently, trying desperately not to cry. "You can't change anything, this has to happen for this to happen," she stated, clinging onto his shirt while he remained silent.
"River," he smiled as she stared at him, the two of them glancing across at the countdown before he found her hand and squeezed it. "We don't have long, I know," he stated as she nodded. "That man doesn't know who you are right now but one day, one day he is going to love you like he's never loved anyone before," he explained as he glanced at the unconscious him while River began to cry silently. "From this moment you're going to be right at the back of his mind until you reappear and take him on the journey of the lifetime," he stated as she smiled weakly. "He's going to hate you and be annoyed by you but he's also going to love you and find himself completely fascinated by everything to do with you."
"Doctor," River whispered as her arms wrapped tightly around his neck while he pressed a kiss to her forehead, neither of them wanting to let go.
"And he is never going to say how much of a rock that you've been throughout your time together," the Doctor explained as River's eyebrows rose. "You keep him sane, you remind him what to do and you're so strong. You were the one who focused on the angel when your parents died while he had an emotional breakdown, you saved everyone," he stated as she stared up at him, not knowing what to say to him.
"I know that you blame yourself for the fact that I was never brought up with my parents but you took me on the greatest adventure of my life and I wouldn't change anything about it," she stated before kissing him quickly. "I love you, my Doctor."
"I love you too, my River Song," he stated before she stepped away from him in silence and moved towards the chair and began to wire herself into it while he stood perfectly still.
"You have to go, you'll wake up soon and you can't be seen," River suddenly stated, her voice full of determination as the Doctor shook his head.
"I don't want you to die alone," he stated, unable to stop the tears that were running down his cheeks. "You don't deserve this. You deserve to live until you're really old. You deserve to have children and a life River Song," he whispered as she sighed and cupped his cheeks with her hands.
"I won't die alone because you're always here," she whispered as she found his hand and brought it to rest on her chest, his hand feeling her heart beat. Looking down at her, the Doctor quickly leant down and kissed her. "You need to leave now," she mumbled into his mouth while he remained perfectly still. "Please," she begged.
"I can't," he declared, his eyes shutting as she looked across to see Clara walking out of the TARDIS.
"If you love me, you'll take Clara and you'll go before he even wakes up. You'll keep showing her the stars and you'll take her not only over Earth but around every planet you know and you'll keep our baby safe," she whispered as he slowly opened his eyes before stepping away from her and turning to see Clara staring at them. "Go now," she ordered as he walked towards the TARDIS while Clara began to shake her head.
"We have to stop it," Clara begged as she watched River move towards the chair. "We have to save her," Clara began to scream as the Doctor stood in her way, stopping her from running towards the other woman.
"It's a fixed point, we can't do anything," he declared as he held onto her arms while she glared up at him. "You have to trust me."
"She's my mum," Clara shouted at him as he nodded, moving her into the TARDIS while she began to hit him. "I'm not going to let her die Doctor," Clara declared, the Doctor grabbing her fist when she began to hit his chest. "She's my mum," the brunette sobbed as she collapsed into his arms, the Doctor shutting his eyes as he held her close. "She's my mum and we're just going to let her die."
"If there was a way of stopping it don't you think I'd be doing it Clara," he responded as he cradled her close to him while they collapsed onto the floor in tears. "If there was a way I'd be stopping it, I'd be bringing her home and I'd never let her go again," he explained as he looked down at Clara who was sobbing into his chest. "I'd tell her every minute of the day that I love her and I would make sure she was never alone but I can't. It's fixed, she dies here and we can't change that. I wish we could but we can't."
"I'm sorry," Clara whispered.
"But she lives on," the Doctor stated as Clara stared up at him. "The man out there, that's me and it's complicated but he's only beginning his journey with River and she lives on in you Clara. You're the daughter of River Song," he smiled as he glanced across at the TARDIS doors, knowing exactly what was about to start outside. Reaching up, the Doctor pushed the lever that he'd learnt from River to make the TARDIS invisible before he wrapped his arms around his daughter and held her close. "I promised her we'd leave before he wakes up."
"Then we should leave."
