Yay! Sorry it took so long to update. First off, I just wanted to say, HAPPY THANKSGIVING! I am thankful for all you wonderful reviewers who have accepted my OC's characters with open arms! Thank you so much!
I also apologize for any grammar and/or spelling mistakes there may be in this chapter.
Raphael's POV
I don't remember anything by the name of, Chocolate.
It was brown, and smelled sort of nice. Reika, Sky and Ed were staring at me with anticipation, so they probably like it.
"So… What do I eat first?"
"What haven't you eaten?" Sky deadpanned, glancing at the four empty boxes of Pizza. She couldn't understand how I managed to eat all that pizza by myself, though I did give Reika and Ed a few slices.
I noticed that Reika seemed to like regular cheese pizza the best.
"I mean this." I lifted up the plate with the smores. Wait, no, it was sort of Smores.
Ed explained how smores are two gram crackers holding a clump of chocolate and marshmallow between them. Whatever any of those things were.
These Smores though, Reika had taken out the chocolate and placed it to the side, while everyone else's were in their smores.
"I would say the chocolate but…" Ed trailed off. "Reika made me aware of her concerns."
"Concerns?" I frowned, looking to the bright eyed red head, who looked worried. She was concerned for me? Why?
"You see Raphael, chocolate is a wonderful treat. However, it is also a poison."
"Poison?!" I gawked at him. They were trying to feed me poison? And they were going to eat it themselves?
"Not to humans!' Ed corrected himself quickly. "You see, Chocolate is made from something called, Cocoa Beans. Which carries Theobromine with in it, which can be deadly to most animals. However, processed chocolate, which is what you have on your plate, has less Theobromine in it then a normal Cocoa Bean."
"So then… is it still poisonous?" I frowned, trying to comprehend all the words he just said.
"I'm not sure. You aren't like any normal turtle but you still are one in the end. So the chocolate could affect you. Though, you were fine with the sugar cookies Reika made early. So large intakes of sugar don't seem to affect you negatively."
"It makes you fat. That is a negative." Sky pointed out.
"Yes indeed." Ed sighed at her.
I rubbed my head in frustration. "So are you saying I can or can not eat it?" I asked irritably.
Rubbing his chin, Ed opened his mouth to give me the final verdict. "…I dunno." He shrugged. I almost fell out of the bed. This guy was super smart, yeah, but he was also an idiot!
"Just go with it." Sky waved me off. "The sweet taste of chocolate is worth the sacrifice!"
"It is nawt!" Reika shoved her. "Nawthin' is worth Raphael's life like dat."
She turned to me with a devoted smile. Feeling suddenly super self conscious, I looked away from her, clearing my throat. "I-It's fine."
Did I just stutter? What the… uh… What the shell? Yeah, that sounded right. "I'll eat it."
"Ya sure?" Reika asked, worry pooling in her bright blue eyes.
"Yeah." I couldn't look her in the eye. Every time I did she would just stare at me with those big blue eyes of hers.
Shacking the thought out of my mind, I hesitantly lifted the piece of chocolate up to my mouth. Sniffing it, I blinked to see the other three in the room watching with anticipation.
Reika looked worried, Ed looked intrigued, and Sky had a look that said she was ready for my to keel over and die, the jerk.
Taking a quick bite of the chocolate, I munched on it for a few seconds before slowly swallowing.
…T…This stuff was good! Jeez!
Reika leaned in a bit, her eyes doubling in size with worry. "Haw daw ya feel?" she asked in a soft voice.
Tilting my head, to see if I suddenly felt poisoned or anything, I shrugged. "Fine."
"Well, if it did poison you, the affects wont be instant.' Ed announced.
"You already took a bite of chocolate anyway." Sky shrugged. "I mean, if it did poison you just now, might as well go all the way with it!"
"Sky." Ed scolded.
She shrugged. "Might as well finish the whole thing with the smore." she insisted
Shrugging, and wanting to taste more chocolate, I placed the remaining chunk into the smore.
We all lifted up our smores to the ceiling, as if making a toast, before munching down.
Sky sort of had a point, Chocolate was delicious enough to die for! Why hadn't I tried this sooner? Oh wait, maybe I have? I can't really remember anything so I don't really know.
"Do you like them?" Ed grinned through his mouth full of smores.
I nodded my head vigorously, too busy chewing to answer. Reika and Ed laughed in approval.
As Reika laughed, she reached for her neck to readjust her scarf.
For some reason I focused on that. It sounds sort of weird, but I did. I just kept staring at her scarf.
It wasn't one of those really bulky scarfs, but it was definitely long since she had to wrap it around herself a few times. It didn't help that she had such tiny shoulders.
Speaking of that scarf.
"Hey, why are you wearing that thing?" I asked, pointing to her. Perking up at the question, Reika tilted her head at me.
"Huh?"
"The scarf. It is probably 90 degrees outside, so why are you wearing it?" I inquired
With a puzzled look, Reika slowly began to chuckle nervously, twirling the long scarf between her fingers. "Awh well… um…" She suddenly blushed.
It was sort of… cute.
"She thinks it is lucky." Sky explained, plopping down on the couch and spreading out. "She is weird like that.
"It is lucky." Reika insisted, puffing out her red cheeks angrily. "It is my lucky charm."
"Lucky charm?" I repeated, confused.
"Well, yawh." Reika beamed. "It is cawzy, keeps me wahrm, cause I'm usually cawld, an' is my lucky color."
I suddenly felt interested in that for some reason, "…What is your lucky color?"
"Well…" she blushed again. "Red is my lucky color."
Something was seriously wrong with me. I don't know why, but I suddenly felt all embarrassed after she said that. It was weird!
I think Reika even saw it, because she leaned in a bit, looking confused.
"Raphael, ahre ya okahy? Ya'r lookin' ah little red-"
Thankfully I was saved by the doorbell ringing. Oh wait… that isn't a good thing.
The room froze as the doorbell went off. Looking at each other with wide eyes, no one was really sure what to do.
"Stay low." Sky commanded, slowly getting up from the couch. Moving towards me, Reika place a hand on my shoulder to help me sit on the ground, hiding behind the couch. Ed moved to my side as well, narrowing his eyes at who ever could be at the door.
Another Doorbell went off, this time with a knock.
Tip toeing to the door, Sky looked through the peep hole. Watching her from around the side of the couch, my eyes widened when a panicked looked cross her face.
"Scrap!" she hissed under her breath, pressing her back to the door and sliding down to the ground.
Who could it be? It must have been someone Sky really didn't want visiting at this time. Maybe it was the police?
Another knock, this one louder than the other.
Sky looked to us, waving in a panicked way for us to stay down and out of sight.
Reika gasped, as if realizing who was at the door. Grabbing a blanket, she flung it over my shoulders, trying to hid me.
Feeling my face grow hot at how Reika's face suddenly got closer, and seemed as if she weren't leaving any time soon, I gulped. "H-Hey what'cha doing?"
"Shh." Reika silenced me with her finger. "…They're here."
I suddenly got this warm feeling in my stomach and my brain seemed to kick into over drive.
It was odd, but I suddenly wanted to rush over to the kitchen table and grab all my weapons and prepare for a fight. I sort of… wanted to fight.
It was weird, yet sort of nostalgic.
"Who's here?" I narrowed my eyes.
"Shh you fool." Sky commanded from the door. "They'll hear you."
"To think they would find us so soon." Ed mumbled softly, his expression grim.
"Who?' I glanced back at Reika for answers. Remembering their position, I quickly, and very awkwardly, looked away.
Come on Raph, pull it together.
Suddenly, to answer my questions, large banging came from the door. Several sounds of kicking, screaming, and punching could be heard.
"Open up! We know you are in there Sky!" some voices called from the other side.
"Never! You freaks!" Sky screamed back at them, causing the bangs to get louder.
"You can't hide forever! You'll have to buy some cookies from us eventually!"
"Over my dead body!" Sky countered.
…Wait… what? Buy some cookies?
Dumbfounded, I looked back at Reika. Seeing my look, she giggled and shrugged innocently.
"Girl scouts." She answered. "What are ya goin' ta do?"
"…What?" I blinked wildly, confused. What was a girl scout?!
"BUY SOME COOKIES!"
"Never!" Sky screamed.
"Actually, I could gaw fawr sawme awf them thin mints." Reika announced, lifting up her hand. With those few words, the tense atmosphere left, leaving nothing more than a frozen Sky, snickering Ed, and a very confused me.
Slowly looking to her little sister, Sky's eyes began to tear up. "Reika… why would you do this to me? Your own sister?' she asked, as if betrayed.
"Hey, thin mints ahre thin mints. Ya eva try thawse Raph?" Reika smiled at me.
"Uh… Thin minuts?" I repeated, not knowing what those were.
"Nah, nah, Thin MINTS. They ahre cookies. Sky, get ah box." Reika waved her off.
"You traitor!" Sky screamed angrily.
"Come on Sky." Ed was trying his best not to laugh, knowing this was all just a joke. "Just get a box."
It was as if they did all of this just to freak me out!
"You're just saying that cause you're not the one who is opening the door!" Sky pointed a accusing finger at him.
He shrugged innocently, waving her off. With a huff of frustration, she grabbed the door handle and swung open the door.
Peeking out a bit, I could see three little girls standing at the door. The all wore matching green skirts, saches and hats, smiling brightly at Sky.
"…Two boxes of thin mints." Sky growled at them.
They held out their hands expectantly. Grabbing her wallet, Sky slammed a few dollars into their hands before taking the boxes.
"We knew you would see it our way.' The three girls smiled wickedly, counting up the money greedily in their hands. "See you next week, Sky."
"No one likes pushy girl scouts!" Sky screamed after them as they disappeared down the alley.
"Uh… What just happened?' I blinked
"Oh, Sky has ah this little… fight goin' on between the girls scouts and her."
"A fight you just made me lose Reika!" Sky pointed an accusing finger at her.
"Think of the bright side Sky." Ed insisted. "You may have lost the battle, but you haven't lost the war."
Sky paused, thinking over his words carefully.
"Hmm… I guess you are right." She shrugged, moving towards the couch with the boxes. "Well, here are your stupid Thin Mints."
"Yay!" Reika cheered, taking the boxes happily. Opening them, she revealed a few rows of chocolate covered cookies. I blinked at them, not sure what to say in this situation. My head was still reeling from the whole Girl scout thing anyway.
What was with these two girls?!
"Here Raphael, try one." Reika held out a cookie to me.
"Yeah, lets add more chocolate into Raphael's system even though we still don't know if he able to eat chocolate." Ed shook his head at her.
"Hey, he already ate a whole bunch of chocolate, one cookie wont really make a difference." Sky shrugged.
"It probably will." Ed pinched the bridge of his nose.
Taking the cookie, not really feeling to worried or poisoned I looked at him. Taking a bite, I shrugged. "I feel fine."
"Everyone says that before they drop dead." Ed sighed.
"Come on Eddy-boy." Sky snickered when Ed flinched at her little 'nickname' for him. "Don't be such a downer. As the British say, 'Let them eat cake!" Sky concluded.
"Uh, you do realize the women who said that died, right?" Ed gave her a little look. "And it was Marie Antoinette who said that, to be precise. She was French, not British."
"Psh." Sky scoffed.
"Actually, mawst historians say that she didn' even say that." Reika announced. "...And Marie Antoinette was frawm Austriah, and awnly moved ta France."
"Hah! You were wrong!" Sky cackled, pointing her finger at Ed.
"She still died though, and you were wrong too." Ed pointed a finger back at her.
"Awh well... ya." Reika shrugged.
They all suddenly looked at me. I blinked. "...I don't really know what you are talking about." I admitted. Surprised, they all began to laugh, which confused me.
"I-It is fine." Reika patted my shoulder.
"We are just talking about a lady who died in a French revolution." Sky waved it off like it was nothing.
"A French what-" I frowned, completely confused.
"Revolution." Ed nodded. "It is where-"
Sky suddenly slapped her palm over his mouth. "No one wants a lecture Ed." He glared at her, yanking free from her hand.
Still not completely understanding what was going on, I rubbed my head, which was starting to get a head ache. Not wanting to make it worse, I decided it was best to just block out the weird history lesson and focus on the cookies in Reika's hands. She giggled when I reached out to take one, happy that I was enjoying them.
I wonder though, I really like Chocolate. I doubt it is a poison to me, but I can't help but wonder... have I ever tried it before? Maybe I have? Or maybe this really is the first time I've ever tried it?
I don't know.
I hope I remember soon.
-000 April O'Neil 000-
This was awful! I was even worse off without the guys here in my search for Raphael.
It definitely didn't help that the streets were crowded too. Yet, if Raphael was out in the open, or collapsed some where, wouldn't someone have made a scene about it by now.
Though, I definitely hoped that wasn't the case. If someone did see him, and called the cops; how in the world was I going to get him out of there?! I keep checking the news though, and there was still no strange new casts on, so I was fine for now.
Turning the corner, I looked left and right, focusing on the dark ally ways I passed.
I didn't want to go back to the guys empty handed. I need something, anything to report to them! I mean... they have all done so much for me in finding my dad, and are still fighting to find him now! I had to repay them some how, and this was the only way right now that I could think of.
Finding Raph would be amazing, but even just a sign that he is alive would be enough as well! Something that I could bring back to the guys to give them hope that their brother was still alive.
Feeling a shiver rush down my spine I froze. Looking around the crowd, I frowned to see no one really that suspicious. Blinking, I looked to the roofs.
My eyes widened when a flash of black jumped over the side. Jumping into action, I rushed down the nearest allyway, following after the suspicious figure. Following their movement, I pressed myself against the wall when they jumped over the building I was at the bottom of.
Focusing in on the form, I titled my head. "...The foot clan?" I questioned.
I had never seen them out in broad daylight before. What were they doing? Maybe... they were looking for someone?
A certain green turtle with a red mask perhaps? I doubt they would be looking for Donnie and the others. They knew the guy never came out in broad daylight unless absolutely necessary.
That can't be right though. Dog Pound said they had gotten to Raphael. Unless of course, they were lying, which is what we all assumed. This only proves it.
So then... if the Foot don't have Raph, (though I'm making a lot of assumptions here)... then where is he?
Yay! I'm done with this chapter! :D
