ED'S POV

I'm just a simple medical school student. I really shouldn't be dragged into these sorts of things!

Yet somehow, since meeting Reika and Sky, I've dragged into these sorts of things all the time!

"Alright Turtle." Sky glared across the table at Raphael furiously. "You've been lying to me all night now. You better start tell me the truth of I'll burn the shell right off of your body."

"Sky." Reika sighed at her sister. "He ain't lyin'."

"That is a bunch of crap! You totally are!" Sky accused jabbing a finger at him.

Sitting only a few chairs away from her, Raphael narrowed his eyes at her, practically daring for her to say another question.

Oh boy, here we go again.

"Go Sky." I motioned to her.

Slowly opening her mouth, Sky said in a dark voice, "…Got any 5's?"
The room fell silent, all eyes looking nervously to the red-banded turtle.

"…Go Fish." Raphael smirked.

"LIAR!" Sky screamed, jumping to her feet.

"Sky! Calm down!' I yelled to her, knowing she would disturb the neighbors.

"I've asked you 12 times by now if you had a 5." Sky continued to yell, ignoring me. "Ed and Reika haven't asked for a 5, even though they know I have one, so that means they don't have a 5. You on the other hand always smirk at me when it is your turn! Which means you do have the 5 and you are lying!" she accused.

"Do not." He said simply, looking down at his cards.

Rolling my eyes, I let out a sigh.

Since Raphael would be staying with Reika and Sky for some time now, we needed to find ways to keep him occupied. Reika had suggested that we play Go Fish for a bit.

We all agreed, since it was a simple game. We even taught Raphael how to play. It took him a few games, but he finally got the hang of it.

That is of course until this certain game, where Sky seems to refuse to believe Rap doesn't have a 5.

Honestly… I was actually starting to believe he really did have a 5 by the way he was smirking at her. But he might have just been doing that because she was making such a big deal out of this too. It was hard to tell with Turtles.

Plopping back down in her seat, Sky angrily reached for a new card. Glancing at it, she placed it in her deck.

When she was silent, I let out another sigh, knowing it was my turn. "Okay then. Reika, do you have any 2's?"
"Yes." She smiled, handing it to me.
"Thank you." I smiled, taking it from her. Between us, Raphael and Sky glared at each other. Reika and me ignored them though and continued on.

"Raph, do you have any 4's?" I inquired. He tossed the card to me without a word, keeping his gaze locked with Sky's. Taking the card, I placed it with its match. "Okay, then Sky, do you have any 7's?"

"Go Fish." She grumbled. Nodding, I took a card, refusing to get upset when someone didn't have the card I wanted. Lifting up the card, I felt myself froze to find it was a 5.

Granted I knew there were always 4 of a pair in each deck, I still didn't want a 5! If Sky found out she would kill me, saying that I was just messing with her to get her mad!

"…You're turn Reika." I said quickly.

She smiled. "Raphael, daw ya have ahny 2's?" she inquired. Forcing his glare away from Sky he looked to Reika. His eyes softening he nodded and gently handed her the card.

"Yeah. Here ya go." He smiled

…I could not have been the only one who noticed that.

Looking to Sky, hoping she had seen the little moment, I frowned to find that she was still glaring at Raphael's snout, completely ignoring any other things in the room.

She missed that little moment! There was completely a moment there. I might be a college nerd, but even I can tell what it means when someone does something like that.

Well, at least, I think so.

Raphael doesn't seem that the kind of guy that would smile at someone like that just because they started talking to him.

"Thank ya!" Reika grinned, taking the card from his hands. Placing the pair on the ground she giggled happily. "Okay, so…" she titled her head. "Hey Ed… got any 5's?"

Sky suddenly gagged, looking to her sister in shock. "Reika!' she gasped. Reika didn't look at her and kept her eyes locked with me.

She… She had a 5 all this time too?!
'…Yeah." I nodded slowly, handing it to her.

"ED?!' Sky looked to me like I betrayed her or something. "You had a 5 too?! You jerk faces!"
"What? No! I just got that 5 on my last turn!" I insisted, not wanting the backhand of Sky's rage. Next to us, Raphael snorted, giving Sky a little smirk.

"Hmm, looks like I wasn't the one with the 5 after all." He cooed.

"Don't get all high and mighty, Turtle." She warning darkly, snapping her finger towards him. "There is still one card left other than mine. Cards come in pairs of four!"

Rolling my eyes, I looked at Reika in bewilderment. "How long have you had that 5?" I asked.

"Ah while." She shrugged innocently.

"Hah, you little devil." I shook my head at her. Say what you want, but Reika was far from that perfect little girl most people though she was. She definitely had a sneaky and dark side to her.

Raphael seemed a little surprised too, and slowly looked to her. "A while? Why didn't you say anythin'?" he asked.

Reika looked to her sister, who huffed at her. "It is fun ta see Sky get all worked up." She admitted.

Gawking at her, Sky folded her arms. "Ya nawdle burnin' jerk!" she grumbled.

Perking up at her words, I blinked.

Did Sky just say what I think she said?
"What was that?" I smirked. Realizing what I meant, she blushed furiously and scowled.

She did! She did say what I thought she said! She said Nawdles! Just like Reika does!
"Nothing!" she insisted, covering her mouth. Raphael didn't seem to hear the little slip up and looked confused.

"Huh? What? What did she say?" he asked me.

I wanted to laugh. "You totally said something just now. What was it?" I insisted, leaning a little closer to her.
"I said nothing you nerd!' she grumbled, back handing me. Wincing at the impact, I held my soar nose.

I should have seen that coming.
"Hey!" I whined.

Huffing, she jumped to her feet and moved to the kitchen to get herself a drink. Chuckling, I shook my head at her.
With a similar chuckle, Reika placed her cards on the table. "Well, I think thaht wahs enough excitement for ah dah." She nodded her head.

Raphael suddenly yawned, nodding slowly in agreement.

Looking to the clock, I blinked to find that it was only Seven.

Oh wait; because of Raphael's injuries his body needs more rest than most. So he is probably exhausted, even just from a simple card game.

Rising to my feet, I smiled. "Well, I should probably go."

"Ya leavin'?" Reika titled her head at me. I nodded.

"I have to get up early tomorrow anyway. However, I would like to check Raphael's injuries one last time." I moved towards him.

Seeing my approach, he frowned. "You've already checked my injuries 5 times in the past two hours." He complained

"I have to be thorough." I insisted with a huff.

What if I missed something? My choices could decide whether Raphael dies or not! Okay wait, that might be a little strong. But he could still get an infection in the wound on his side, or his leg might get worse. Excuse me for wanting to make sure his condition got better instead of the opposite.

Scoffing a bit, Raphael folded his arms. "Mother hen."

"Am not." I narrowed my eyes as I kneeled down to his bandaged legs.

"Ya do sawrt awf hawver." Reika agreed softly.

Hover? I do not hover!

"I do not." I mumbled, carefully lifting Raphael's leg up, making sure the bandages were secure.

"What? What do you mean you don't?" Sky decided to return right for our conversation. "You totally hover."

I opened my mouth to argue but she beat it to me.

"Remember that time Reika broke her finger? You wouldn't leave her alone about it until a month after she got the bandages off! You so hover!"

Everyone nodded his or her heads in agreement.

Slouching forward a bit, so as to make sure they didn't see my embarrassment, I pouted slightly. You can't really blame me for being worried.

"Well your wounds seem fine right now. Just don't over exert yourself." I said sternly, giving Raphael a pointed look. He rolled his eyes at me, as if he was use to this sort of treatment.

"What ever braniack." He mumbled.

Braniack?

I tilted my head at the weird nickname, not sure where that came from. As if realizing himself that he called me the nickname his eyes widened. Giving me a surprised look he opened his mouth to speak but nothing came out.

"Uh… are you alright?" I asked softly, seeing the troubled look in his eyes.
"…Y-Yeah." He stammered, reaching up to rub his temple. "I just um…"
"Did ya have a flash back?" Sky asked, leaning against the table, her expression serious.

He nodded weakly. "I think so."
"What wahs it about?" Reika inquired, moving to sit next to him, placing a comforting hand on his shoulder. Looking to his knees, he let out a small breath.

"I dunno. I just… there was this turtle there." He admitted softly.

"Another Turtle? Seriously?" Sky moved to sit across from him, giving him in stunned look.

I didn't blame her. One talking turtle was shocking enough. There was another though?

"Yeah he… I dunno, he was talkin' to me. I guess I got hurt or somethin' and he was patchin' me up." Raphael shook his head as if he was dizzy. "I don't remember his name."

"Hey. That is alright." Reika said soothingly. "We cahn't expect ya ta remember everythin' sow sawn."

"Reika is right." I nodded. "The mind is a complex thing. It will take time."

He didn't look too convinced but nodded. "I think… I need ta sleep." He mumbled, looking towards his bed.

"Ah right! I'll help ya!" Reika jumped to her feet and put Raphael's arm around her shoulder to help him to his feet. Since his leg was still in bad shape Raphael would need our help to move around the next couple days.

Leaning most of his weight onto Raphael gave her a thankful nod, keeping his eyes locked with the ground. Slowly they moved out of the kitchen, taking tiny steps back to the couch.

I was always shocked how Reika was able to support Raphael's full body weight by herself. She was definitely stronger then she looked, especially since Raphael had such a heavy looking shell.

When the two were gone, I glanced at Sky, who was leaning her head against her hand, giving me a serious look.

"What?" I mumbled.

"You know what Ed." She grumbled in a soft voice, motioning for me to sit down. Doing as I was told I sat down.

"What is the problem?" I asked, keeping my voice low.

"Everything about this is a problem Ed." Sky glared at me. "We can't keep a Turtle in our house forever."

"It wont be for forever." I insisted. "It will only be until he is healed and can survive on his own."

"And what happens when that day comes?" Sky inquired, leaning towards me with a dark glint in her eyes. "What will we do? Just let him go and pretend it never happened? You and me both know Reika wont just let Raphael leave without a word."

I sighed, glancing over my shoulder towards the living room where I could faintly hear Reika helping Raphael into bed. They were talking to each other, but I really couldn't tell what they were saying.

"I know that Sky." I looked back at her. "However we can't just kick Raphael out right now. From what he said he has a friend out there. Another turtle he can turn to when he is healed."

As strange as that sounded it was really the only thing we had to go off of.

"Oh great, another turtle." Sky scoffed, looking to the sink.

"What is with you and that anyway? You usually not this distrusting to people." I frowned.

"That Turtle isn't a person."

"He is a person Sky." I leaned towards her a bit to whisper. "He is a person who feels and breaths just like you and me."

Looking to me our eyes locked.

"What is the real reason you don't like him?" I asked.

She looked away, keeping her attention to her hands. "Something about him doesn't feel right."
"How so?"
"I dunno Ed." She sighed, reaching up to run her fingers through her hair. "Maybe it was just from all those weapons of his." She motioned to them. We had moved them from the table to the counter and had left them there for most of the day. "Or maybe it is because he was so hurt when we first found him. He had to get those injuries some how, which means someone is after him. And I'm sure if they know he is here they will come after him."
I nodded thoughtfully. "That is true."

"And when they come here… Reika wont just let them hurt him without a fight."
Ah, there was the reason. It wasn't just that Sky didn't like Raphael. It was that she was worried that Reika would get hurt from all of this.

She had always been very protective over her little sister.

"Hey." I said softly, reaching forward to take her hand. She didn't look at me but gripped my hand tightly. "We'll figure this out. I promise you that I wont let anything happen to Reika or you as long as I am here."
Snorting a bit she looked up at me. "No offence Ed but you aren't exactly the strongest guy around."
I snorted right back at her. "Hey, I may not be strong but I am at least resourceful."

"True." She mused giving me a small smile.

Grinning at each other I rose to my feet, reaching out to ruffle her hair. She whined a bit, swatting my head away. "I'm not 8 anymore Ed." She pouted.

I chuckled. "Maybe." Turning I grabbed my bag and swung it over my shoulder. "I'll come over again tomorrow morning. We'll figure this out."

Eyes widening Sky stared at me. "…Right." She nodded.

-000-RAPHAEL-000-

"Okay, dawn we gaw." Reika gently lowered me to the bed, making sure to support my leg and side.

I said nothing as I was placed against the mattress, still to enveloped in my thoughts. That flash back had come out of nowhere and I had been prepared for it. Ed had reminded me so much of someone. He was geeky, and over protective, just like someone… that I use to know. Who though?

I felt like I was so close to the answer, yet at the same time, so very far away.

It was frustrating. Why couldn't I just remember already?

"Ya cawmfy?"

"Huh?" I looked to Reika when she spoke to me.
"Ya cawmfy?" she chuckled, realizing I had zoned out.

"Oh… yeah." I nodded quickly, realizing where I was. Smiling she reached for the blankets and tucked me in.

She freaking tucked me in. How uncool was that? She probably thinks I'm some sort of baby that can't take care of myself at all.

"There ya gaw." She grinned happily when I was officially wrapped up snuggly, unable to moved my arms from the tight blankets. Shuffling a bit I released my arms.

She giggled at the sight, tilting her head at me. Staring at me for a few seconds, I felt myself unable to meet her gaze.

She just kept staring at me. It was like she was trying to see into my soul or somethin'.

"Hey… ya sure ya are ahlright?" her soft voice spoke up, cutting through the silence.

"Yeah." I mumbled, keeping my focus on my blankets.

She nodded. "Okay." She smiled, my words seeming to satisfy her concerns. "If ya need anythin' we're here fawr ya."

They were? That was another thing that was weird about these three people. They just took me in without wanting anything in return. They were weird.

I couldn't help but look at her this time. I almost regretted it when I was met with that bright and warm look she had in her eyes. It almost made me fall over. For some odd reason.

Out of all of the people I've met since coming here, this girl was honestly the strangest. I couldn't really explain her. She just… just who she was surprised me. I couldn't figure out what she was thinking at all.

"…Thanks." I felt myself mumble.

Rising for her feet, she grinned. "Well, I shauld head ta bed."

"Yeah." I nodded.

Behind us, Ed suddenly appeared from within the kitchen. "Oh," he paused when he saw us. "I'm heading off Reika." He smiled, waving.

"Ah, kay. Bye." She waved back.
"Bye. Goodnight Reika, Raphael." Ed turned and exited the room.

"Night." I watched him go. When I looked back at Reika she was already gone and in the kitchen with Sky. I hadn't even heard her left.

Made me wonder if she were a ninja.

…Ninja.

Something about that word felt familiar too. When I first met them, Sky and Reika asked if I was a ninja. I wasn't sure how to answer that. I didn't really feel like a ninja, but I could be.

I had all the normal ninja weapons after all, so I guess it could be true.

With a sigh I leaned into my pillow and closed my eyes.

As soon as they were closed that Turtle I saw before flashed in my eyes.

He was a little scrawny compared to myself. He was definitely taller though. He had emerald red eyes that were always so wide with either concern or excitement.

He was nerd.

At least, I think he was. He seemed like a nerd to me.

When I had my flash back, he had smiled at me. He had this gap between his teeth.

Haha, the nerd.

Oh wait, there was something else about him too. He was wearing a purple mask. Purple was a cool color I guess. It matched him well.

I couldn't really picture myself in the color though.

"Raphael!" The turtle called with a small smile.

He knew my name, but I couldn't recall his.

I wondered though, if he could see me now, would he be worried? Would he be hovering over me like Ed was?

…I think so.

Wahoo! New chapter! I must admit though, I'm having a little trouble with this fanfic. Not because it is hard to write or anything, it is just... I'm running out of ideas! I want it to take a few days for Raphael to remember his brothers, but I need things to happen before then.

You guys have any ideas? Like little moments Raphael could have with Sky Reika and Ed? Some funny ones? Any suggestions are welcomed! If you want to see something happen in this story just let me know! :D

MERRY CHRISTMAS!
