Clary POV

"Jace if you seriously don't put the pedal to the metal then the kids in the back might just jump out of the car and walk themselves to the cinema." I said from the shotgun seat. Jace was driving like a grandma going at least 15 under the speed limit and Max seriously looked like he was thinking about jumping and taking Samantha along with him.

"Well, I'm sorry if I want to set a good example for my younger brother and the other small child that will be driving at some point. We don't need them being speed demons." He said picking up the pace a tad bit.

"Says the man that owns a motorcycle. Trust me, I'm positive that these two know not a speed when it comes to driving. I'm just asking for maybe 5 more miles per hour." And he gave into my demand. Clary 1, Jace 0. Haha suck it dude.

But then the rest of the night sort of went downhill when the two little love birds had a bit of a lovers spat about what movie that they wanted to see. Max wanted to go see some really gorey movie about zombies; Samantha wanted to go and see the movie about a lost fairy princess in New York.

Finally Max gave into Samantha's wishes and Jace went to buy the fairy princess tickets. Things picked up a bit from there. Max returned to his charming ways and acted all gentlemanly for Samantha, making her swoon. We let them sit in a couple of rows in front of us so that they felt that they had their little sense of privacy. But Jace could still reach over the row and give Max a slap upside the head if he started to act up.

I on the other hand didn't even pay a lick of attention to the movie. I was content on just watching Jace being all protective over the two little ones. And then I managed to pull him away from them and start a small conversation with him.

"I have always wanted to go to New York. All the different art and people seem interesting, nothing like were I was from." I said quietly.

"Well, I know that you really aren't on the best terms with your parents and that the holidays are coming up. My family always have a decent sized reunion close to New York. Would you like to come with us or would you like for it to just be the two of us back on campus?" He asked quietly in my ear.

"I can't pull you away from your family, Jace. And I'm not sure if I could go into a family meeting like that when we haven't even been dating all that long."

"Of course you can. Everyone in my family that has meet you loves you from the second that they have meet you. And my parents would be so excited to see me bring a girl home because they normally don't stay around all that long."

"Okay, just please don't let your parents turn out to be axe killers that murder unworthy dates. I think that might put a bit of a damper on our relationship, especially in the early stages of it." I heard his soft chuckle.

"I promise that they haven't killed any if the people that any of us have brought home. You don't have to worry about anything but Izzy getting a little tipsy on New year's eve." I gave him a big kiss on the cheek

"Thank you Jace. I was starting to worry if I was going to spend it all by myself or worst, with my parents."

"I would never leave you by yourself on a holiday, Clary."

More time skips till they are back in the dorm room

We went to straight to his bed tonight. Normally I would try to stray from the automatic cuddling, but it just felt good and right tonight. We just laid in his bed, fully clothed with arms wound around each other's waist. I was at peace.

"Clary, what was your home like before you came here? When you do talk about it you make it sound like it was Satan's living room." He asked me quietly

"I was from a small town in the middle of nowhere. I was considered a rich girl and a goody two shoes a lot. Then I guess one day I sort of snapped and I got moved here because I couldn't handle home any more. We tried a lotof different things to 'fix me', but nothing worked. The last month before I came here, I didn't talk to my parents at all. I was just a ghost living in their house. Guess that they got tried of having a ghost for a daughter. Honestly it was a pretty good move on my part."

"Thank you for telling me. Most people wouldn't have been able to do that."

"Well, I didn't have a terrible life growing up so I don't see why not. The only thing that most people would of considered was the fact that I detested talking to people other than my parents. I never had friends; I never wanted friends." "Well how does feel to be stuck with them and a smoking hot boyfriend?"

"I don't know, I will ask him the next time that I see him."

"Very funny Clary."

"But it does feel really good to have friend and my first ever boyfriend. I never thought that the day would come."

"Well, then I feel entirely lucky. Just wondering, is that why you will not let me kiss you?" And cue the blush creeping up everywhere.

"It is embarrassing being almost seventeen and not having your first kiss yet. I just always wanted it to be perfect and with someone that I knew wouldn't want to pressure me into kissing them."

"Well I can tell you right now that I'm going to keep on trying to kiss you, but push me away every time till you are comfortable with it. And then you will actually shock me when you let me."

"Most guys would of just kissed me when I said that I hadn't had my first yet."

"I'm not most guys. I know that people don't like to be pressured into things. Now I think that we should get to bed because I have a slight feeling Izzy will be over here at the crack of dawn wanting to know the details of tonight." And I was a hundred percent sure that was absolutely right.
