Chapter 4

Suddenly Reunited

Author's Note: So here's chapter 4, I hope everyone will like it.

Akihito had felt much better just by coming home and after being alone for a while, he decided to explore since he was bored.

He walked around the large house for at least an hour before he finally picked a lock to a door. He had chosen the study room. Inside it, there was a desk, a ton of books and other little items.

While Akihito was walking around the room, he noticed something that looked slightly off. Had he not been in his photography career and had such a trained eye, he probably would not have noticed the subtle difference but it made him insanely curious when he did.

After twenty minutes of scanning the area, he pressed a small button that was hidden under the bottom edge of the bookcase. A floor board popped and he pulled it off. He looked inside to see a large amount of folders.

He opened one to see pictures of himself but what scared him most were the ones that were pictures of him as a child that someone had taken in secret. He whispered to himself confusedly. "But why would Alex have these? He said they just took me randomly from the side of the road."

Akihito could not understand because there were pictures of him holding his mother's hand when he was two and when he was trying to walk at three. Why were there pictures of his first day of elementary school and middle school?

Akihito was scared. He had just started trusting Alex but the man had lied to him and that scared him the most. Akihito put all the photo albums into a black duffle bag nearby and then took a chance to jump out of a window after smashing it. Once on the ground, he ran as fast and as far as he could. He needed to find somewhere to hide and quickly.

He suddenly reached his hand up to his neck while running and grasped something that hung around his neck. Akihito's heart felt conflicted. Did he trust Alex's words back then? Those rings were a proof of their love and yet… Akihito did not know anymore. He was now questioning whether Asami had truly betrayed him.

It then hit him like a speeding truck. Asami would never! He could not believe Asami would leave him. If he actually thought about it instead of freaking out, he would have realized it earlier.

He pulled the necklace from his neck and removed the ring, sliding it back onto his finger. He had to uncover the truth. He had to find his way back to Asami before Alex caught him again.

Akihito had been moving as fast as he could for a while but he still had not made it that far. He failed to notice initially but he had hurt his right leg pretty badly. After running on it for a while, Akihito knew that jumping out of the second story window was probably not a good idea. In the best scenario his leg was not broken but from his experience with how hard it was to move and how much pain he was in, Akihito doubted it.

He was sure he should go to a hospital but he knew he could not if he really wanted to escape. Time was not on his side. Forcing himself to ignore the pain which he was amazingly good at, Akihito ran around the corner into another ally where he saw blood on the ground. Akihito thought nothing of it as he kept going.

Asami leaned against a wall in pain. That red haired bastard had shot him back right after he had pulled the trigger himself. He had taken the first chance he could to leave when the other man pulled his phone out. Asami did not have any of his men right here and was already losing a lot of blood. He had hit the red haired man in the leg but the other had shot him in the lower abdomen and all he was really thinking about was escaping now.

He knew now who had Akihito so he could get him back but first, he would have to live through this and if he had stayed there then the red head and his men would have killed him easily. Asami took his chance and escaped, trying to make it back to his hotel room at least before he could worry about his wound later when he knew he was safe.

He had been moving in the shadows and the alleys across town when his vision began to fade out. Nevertheless, he continued moving but knew that his body would not last that much longer. He kept forcing his body to move, sure that if he stopped now he would not survive the night let alone be able to save his Akihito. It was not very much longer until he collapsed, his vision was about to go dark completely when he saw someone coming around the corner and down the alley. He thought he was definitely going to die as he lost consciousness.

Akihito continued down the alley completely focused on the exit on the other side, not noticing the thing in front of him lying on the ground. His leg suddenly screamed as pain shot up it after he hit it against a pipe. Instantly he dropped to the ground. He grabbed his leg until he saw the shadowed figure leaning against the wall in front of him. He crawled forward when he noticed who it was, completely ignoring the pain coming from his leg.

Akihito reached a trembling hand out and touched a wet shirt. When he pulled his hand back, he saw the red substance covering it. His eyes widened as he quickly tried to stop the bleeding. Tears were running freely as he desperately attempted to stop the blood flow. "No, No, NO, NO! Please no… not now just when I got him back…"

Akihito grabbed the black bag and looked around the files he had placed inside until he found a small first aid kit. With what was inside he did the best he could to patch Asami up from his basic medical knowledge from other times things like this happened. It took him a few minutes but he had finally gotten the wound to stop bleeding but he knew that this was still not a good situation. Akihito searched Asami's pockets for a phone he knew the man always carried around. He found one in the inner pocket in his jacket. He searched through the contacts quickly, trying to find someone he could call. Finally he saw Kirishima's name and instantly hit talk. "Please answer… Please answer..." Akihito prayed.

His prayers were answered when a click on the other side reached Akihito's ear. "Hello, Boss." The voice greeted.

Akihito was overjoyed at the man's voice and blabbered, "Kirishima-san, please help! If we don't hurry Ryuuichi's going to die!"

Panic was clear in Akihito;s voice as it shook while he grasped the device tightly in his hands. There was a long pause at the other end and Akihito was losing his mind. Kirishima was confused as he put two and two together. His boss's lover who went missing was calling using his boss's phone while panicking. "Akihito is that really you? What happened?"

Akihito shook his head as he cried while talking on the phon. "I... I don't know I found him like this but he's been shot. I got the wound to close and stop bleeding but I don't know how long he had been here before I got here."

Kirishima stayed calm and gave very precise orders. "Calm down and try and figuring out where you guys are. We just arrived on our flight so we can come get you but you need to tell us where you are."

Akihito took a breath and tried to compose himself then he responded. "Okay I've got to get up and find a sign or landmark… just give me a second."

Akihito inhaled deeply twice and then stood up the best he could as he cried out it pain. "What's wrong Akihito?"

Akihito was breathing heavily as he responded, "I think my leg's broken."

"Don't move! You could make your leg worse."

Akihito shook his head in pain and determination. "No, I have to. If I don't I'm sure Asami won't make it."

Kirishima did not argue, allowing Akihito to do what was needed. He just stayed on the phone as Suoh and he made their way to their car. Once there, they started driving out of the airport. They had been driving for a few minutes before Akihito said something, "I think the street sign says 'Saskatchewan Street SW' but my English may not be correct."

Kirishima typed it into the vehicle's GPS. "It's correct. We're on our way now and will get there as soon as we can. Go back to Asami and stay on the line with me."

Akihito did as he had been told and slowly made his way back to Asami. Once there he collapsed beside the man. He was in so much pain.

He took one glance back at his leg to see blood on his pants. He was scared to look to see if it was his or Asami's blood that had gotten on his pants. When he rolled up his pants he gasped when he saw blood all over his leg, he was sure now that it was his own blood when he saw his bone into different place. "What's wrong Akihito?"

Akihito breathed in and then gulped before he responded with a tremble. "My leg's a little worse than I thought it was. I probably should not have been walking on it."

"How much worse?"

Akihito quickly rolled his pant leg down and could only manage to say, "There's a lot of blood."

Kirishima simply said, "Just don't move until we get there." There was no compromise in his voice and Akihito nodded.

The phone had died after some time and Akihito was left to wait with bated breath in silence. He stayed as close as he could to Asami as he waited for Kirishima and the others to arrive. Akihito was tired and close to fainting from the blood lost and was now forcing himself to stay awake waiting. He knew that he had to stay awake even though his body wanted to refuse his request. He was almost asleep, leaning on Asami's shoulder which was turning cold when the two men came into the alleyway and spotted them.

Akihito glanced towards them with a smile. Kirishima and Suoh moved Asami to the car and then came back to help Akihito up but Akihito's body gave out before they could get him into the car, leaving Kirishima to carry the boy.

Akihito had woken up next on a plane. He was in so much agony and knew he should not move but all he could think about was getting back to Asami. He sat up way too fast causing his head to spin as he saw Asami asleep on the plane's bed beside him. Akihito leaned over with tears in his eyes as he snuggled up close to the person he had not seen in years. While he was crying he heard the door open and saw Kirishima walk in with Suoh behind him. They looked at the crying Akihito and told him gently, "We need to change his bandages and check your leg over again."

Akihito nodded and wiped his tears away. "That's fine."

The two came in and Suoh began changing Asami's bandages while Kirishima started re-wrapping Akihito's leg. "We had to leave before either one of you could get surgery but we made sure you would be okay until we get back to Japan so we have to keep cleaning your leg so the doctors can fix it when you get back. Once the doctors check both of you out, you'll probably be undergoing surgery with the way your leg is and boss will be in the operating theatre the second we get there."

Akihito just nodded. He still was in that horrible suit from the party, full of blood now. "Okay, that's fine."

Akihito was still shaky from the earlier events and was scared what Alex would do when he noticed Akihito was gone. He quivered as Kirishima cleaned and bandaged his leg again. He could not believe his eyes when he saw his leg. It looked worse now than it had earlier.

Once the two were done, they left Akihito alone in the room again with Asami. He rested his head beside Asami and watched the man. It did not take him long to fall asleep again from the combination of exhaustion and the pills they had given him.

Asami was very groggy as he opened his eyes. He felt horrible but he was amazed that he was even alive. He was sure that he should be dead in that alley right now. He carefully tried to sit up from his passed out spot on the bed but his one arm was held down by something warm beside him. He looked around the room figuring out that he was on his private jet as he looked down at what the warm weight beside him was. His eyes widened when he saw a curled up Akihito. Instantly he turned the best he could and wrapped his arms around his Akihito. He had been so worried. He let go, moving back from Akihito when he felt the pain in his chest from the movement, so he laid back down, well he was looking up at the ceiling of the room. Asami felt Akihito moving beside him. Akihito sat up and looked around he moaned out in pain when he tried to move again. "Oww, my leg."

Akihito jumped when Asami's hand grabbed his. His head snapped in the man's direction. "Ry…uu..ichi…"

Tears started dripping from Akihito's eyes as he looked at Asami. Asami felt his heart hurt at the look on the younger's face as he sat up and stretched his arms the best he could. Akihito instantly moved closer into his arms while his lover enveloped him in his embrace. Akihito was crying now as Asami just hugged him with a smile. "Finally you're back."

Akihito did not answer at first and opted to cry into his chest. "I thought you had given up on me… I had given up, I'm sorry!" Akihito leaned back and took the other ring from his neck. "When he gave me your ring my mind snapped and I could not think that you still loved me. I could not handle it anymore."

When Akihito stretched his arm and Asami took the ring placing it back on his finger. Akihito smiled at him as he adjusted his leg so it would not get worse. "Alex said you had given up on me and for some reason the ring for me was like proof."

Asami could feel the anger boiling up inside him as he heard what Akihito said. Asami was angry and that was when he spotted the two bracelets that for some unknown reason drew his attention. When Akihito moved his arm Asami grabbed it and started pulling one of the bracelets off. What he saw made him angry. "What did that asshole fucking do to you?"

Akihito pulled his wrist free. "He did not do it. I did. He may have kidnapped me but if he had not found me the other night I would be dead right now. I was so upset that I just wanted to end everything so like the coward I am I tried to kill myself. I slit both my wrists."

Asami could not believe the defeat that showed in Akihito's eyes and he definitely could not believe his ears. There was no way his Akihito would try to kill himself no matter what… would he? The Akihito he knew and fell in love with was strong.

Akihito was crying again, upset about himself. "I'm so sorry Ryuuichi. I… I… I could not trust that you would come for me anymore so I gave up and did so many things I should not have…"

Asami took Akihito's hand in his gently and calmly told him, "It's not your fault. You lasted such a long time. Your trust had to break sooner or later but at least you're here now and that's all that matters. Forget about before. You are safe with me now."

Akihito smiled at those words before fear covered his face as he remembered the files. "I don't think it's going to be that easy… he's going to come back for me…I know it."

Alex walked into his house with a smile on. His leg had been fixed up and he was sure that this time he had killed that horrid man so now the only place left for Akihito to remain was in his arms.

He grabbed a drink and then headed to Akihito's room. He was going to see if the boy was still awake but when he got there, Akihito was nowhere to be seen so he started searching his house. He could not figure out where the younger had gone until he walked into his study. The hidden storage in the floor was open and the window was smashed.

"Shit!"
