AN/: I know it's been a few weeks, I'm sorry. I'm so tired. I'm so busy. This week has been my first free Saturday in forever...I'm working all the time. Okay: This is where Draco gets clued in on some more stuff. ALSO I know the middle names aren't the same but my choice is way better than J K's, first she choose a lovely name such as Hermione then, gives her plain Jane for a middle name?!...yes she changed it to Jean eventually, but is that really any better, does she have a thing for anagrams?!...mirror of erised? I apologise to those of you out there called Jane or Jean...I can't really talk, I still have constant arguments with my mother to this day about the fact that I don't even have a middle name...it's a childhood trauma and she doesn't even see it. ANYWAY...
Beware of the French in this chapter it's incredibly funny because it's sooooo bad :D, I don't actually speak it anymore and I know it's wrong, it's just to get a feel. I Suck French...
Chapter 22: Aliena & Abraxas
"So I just want to get something clear...you knew we were involved in this...before we were involved in this?" Draco had no idea what he meant by 'this' but there was no other way to describe it, actually he had no idea what any of what he just said meant.
"No, not exactly." Hermione seemed to though.
"Well, what does that mean?" Draco wasn't being mean; he was just trying to understand.
"I was in the dark as much as you Draco, I had no idea." Hermione paused for a moment, mentally debating how she should say this. "There was a moment though...It was a few years ago. It was the first time I saw you after I got the tattoo. You were in Flourish and Blotts the day before we were to go back to Hogwarts for our sixth year." Draco was silent just listening to her speak. "I swear to Merlin I almost had a heart attack when I saw you." She half laughed. "I just had this overwhelming need to go over to you, I had no idea what I would have done or said if I did." Hermione remembered it as clear as yesterday. "There was so much emotion swirling around inside of me...I almost lost control of my magic completely." Draco was shocked.
"Really? It was that strong?" Hermione nodded.
"Some sparks flew out of nowhere...well...me, I guess, I made a huge mess of everything. They hit some boxes and cages at Eeylops Owl Emporium and about half a dozen owls escaped. I'm just glad no one saw that I was the cause." Draco was smiling.
"I remember that. I was with Blaise and Greg. We were wondering what had happened...I remember seeing you all flustered and such." Draco teased. "You legged it into a side alley if I recall correctly, Miss Granger." He grinned. Hermione nodded her head in embarrassment. "Gryffindor bravery my arse." He chuckled. Luckily Hermione found the humour in the situation.
"Well...I'm so glad you find my discomfort from two years ago amusing." She tried not to smile but Draco made it almost impossible.
"So then what happened?" Draco asked, getting back on topic.
"Well I just figured that I was being insane." Hermione said simply. "I was so sure that it was you, but then again...it was you. The logical side of me should have seen sense and realised that you, your name, your eyes even were too big a coincidence for it not to be true but the rest of me told myself I was being completely barmy and squished any thought of you being...well to be frank...my dragon." Hermione let Draco absorb what she had just told him before speaking again. "After that day, I chose to let life come to me, I wasn't going to look for you or think about what Achara had told me...I knew I'd go mad thinking about it so...I didn't. I've been in the dark as much as you have. I had no idea..."
Draco nodded. "I understand...I understand completely. I'm just asking because I want to know what you've been through and I want to be in the same place as you are now." He finished.
"I know." Hermione smiled, Draco was rubbing the soft skin of her upper arms and he placed a chaste kiss to her left temple.
There was a moments silence before Draco spoke again...
"Seriously though, my name didn't even give it away the tiniest bit!?" He joked all of a sudden. "I still can't believe people call you the brightest witch of our time." She grinned. "I think you're getting rusty in old age, Granger." He laughed as she playfully hit his arm. "How do you know what my name means anyway?"
She shrugged her shoulders. "It's simple Latin. Not to mention it's in the school motto...do you know how many times I've read Hogwarts: A History?" She asked accusingly, almost offended and Draco laughed outright.
"Calm down. I think it's safe to say that pretty much the whole of the wizarding world knows that that's your book Hermione...relax." He smiled, kissing her forehead again. "Whilst we're on the subject of my name..." Draco started. "How, in the name of Merlin's saggy tits, do you know my middle name? I don't even know if Blaise knows my middle name...I just about know my middle name! Well the last part was a lie but still..." Well Hermione wasn't expecting that.
"When...?" Her eyebrows were furrowed.
"When you were naked and scolding me through the bathroom door you used my full name..." Draco answered her question before it even left her lips.
"Ahh..."
"Yes, ahhh..." He smiled.
"Well, I went through a stage where I took an interest in onomatology."
"Really?"
"Mmhmm. I found it fascinating. I read as many books as I could find in the Hogwarts library related to the subject but it never seemed to be enough. So when I was at Grimmauld Place with the Order once I rummaged through the old Black library. The Black family has the most fascinating, and I think rather wonderful tradition of naming children after constellations...like you and your cousin, Sirius and of course the Malfoy family was related. Abraxas was your paternal grandfather, correct?"
Draco was in awe yet again.
"How do you still manage to surprise me? You've done it every damn day since them moment I met you, Granger...and yet still..." Draco was lost for words because of the beauty that sat before him and Hermione was flattered, who knew Draco Abraxas Malfoy was capable of such poetry? I bet he writes his own songs as well. Hermione smiled affectionately up at him as he place a gentle kiss upon her lips.
"You surprise me everyday too Draco..." He smiled lovingly down at her.
"You know..."
"What?"
"Well...what's your middle name, Hermione?" She grinned.
"It's...Aliena." She smiled, as did Draco.
"It's gorgeous."
"Thank you."
"It's very Greek...and gorgeous."
"Ha...just another thing my father was interested in...Mythology" She smiled.
Hermione laughed, feeling slightly awkward at the look he was giving her because as she looked up at him, his grey eyes and rugged, blonde hair and his handsome face, needless to say the sight stole her breath away. The expression of pure euphoria of his face numbed her. She was frozen and unable to move. Not even when Draco leaned down towards her could she do anything. When his lips touched hers, she could only sigh in pleasure.
Her sound of approval spurred Draco to go further. Never letting his lips leave hers, he turned her around more and wound his arms around her back, pulling her flush against him. She made no attempt to resist him; instead she placed her slender hands on his chest, her dainty fingers running over the marks she had made earlier and sighed once more. Draco felt his head spin and his senses dimmed. All he could focus on was the divine feeling of having Hermione Granger kissing him back, her teeth nipping at his bottom lip and the light pulses her probing tongue left behind on his own.
Once the kiss ended, Draco pulled back a little to look at the face he had come to adore. Her lips were slightly puffy and her cheeks were red with excitement. It was truly the most adorable sight he'd seen in a long time. He reached out to stroke her flaming cheek. She closed her eyes and leaned into the touch, smiling.
"That reminds me..." Draco spoke slightly out of breath.
"Oh..." Hermione smiled... What was coming now? ...she just knew it was going to be something so Draco.
"You most definitely weren't a virgin? Draco grinned from his position behind on the bed. I knew it. Hermione smiled.
"No." She said and sat up to straddle his hips. "Why? Is that a bad thing?"
"Absolutely not. I wouldn't have minded either way, but this way is definitely more fun..." He trailed off grinned but still Draco was a bit shocked. Less than if he hadn't known about the tattoo, but still. "It's just I've known you for seven-eight years but I have absolutely no idea who you are."
"Not many people do." Hermione smiled at Draco, she enjoyed the matter-of-fact way in which he spoke of things. "Ginny probably knows me the most and she doesn't know everything." Hermione grinned. "The bookworm isn't so innocent after all."
"I'll say." Draco grinned as well before Hermione's turned into a weaker smile.
"You know the same could be said for you."
"Oh?" Draco replied mindlessly, staring at Hermione's mouth whilst he ran his big, strong hands up and down her back and arms.
"Yes." She nodded. "Before this year, we had never actually had a civil conversation."
"Yeah, well that's largely my fault. We can do that some time you know...get to know each other, I'd like to."
"We can do it right now if you'd like? We still have hours until dinner and I have no intention of leaving this bed." She smirked. "I know you're dying to ask me who I lost my virginity to...I don't know if I'll tell you but still..."
Draco laughed and said, "I think you know me better than you think." She loved the sound of his laugh and so laughed with him, it was contagious. "I do really want to ask." He said cheekily.
"I'm not sure you'd like the answer." Hermione warned him.
"Pfft. I'm a Malfoy, I can handle it. Who'd you give it up to, Granger?" He pried.
"It'll be your own fault Draco." She tried one last time.
"Hey you're the one that stuck the damn thought in my head...you own me!" He smirked. Hermione smirked back.
"Fine, I did warn you." She was still straddling Draco's lap, her arms hung loosely around his shoulders. "It was Krum." Needless to say Draco's world crashed and burned...or at least for the next few minutes or so.
"Krum?" He deadpanned. "KRUM! You shagged that fucking Neanderthal? What? No. Just... When? Oh my god...you were 14! That perverted Bulgarian prick!" Hermione wasn't prepared for the long line of expletives that left Draco's mouth in the next few seconds...although it was very amusing when he leapt out of bed and started going on about it in French.
...
"Faire foutre! Merde! Je ne peux pas vous croire ... " Draco was waving his hands about like a maniac.
Fuck! Shit! I can't believe you...
"Draco, calmez-vous ... Si elle vous fait vous sentir mieux, il a été horrible dans son lit." Hermione was laughing.
Draco, calm down... If it makes you feel any better, he was horrible in bed.
...
That seemed to work. After a few moments of him calming down and getting control of himself, Draco suddenly realised his girlfriend could speak French.
...
"Vous parlez français?"
You speak French?
"Oui." Hermione smiled.
Yes.
...
"I lived in France until I was six." She smiled weakly. "We used to go on holiday there a lot still, or at least before Voldemort came to power again."
"I'm sorry..." Draco was defeated and climbed back into bed.
"S'okay...and I wasn't fourteen years old!" Hermione defended herself.
"You didn't sleep with him in fourth year?" Draco hoped.
"No. I did."
"Huh." Draco wasn't sure what to think. "How old were you in 4th year?"
"Well, my birthday's in September...so I was 15. Plus, 3rd year I kind of...spent...a lot of time...with a time turner..." She trailed off and Draco said nothing. "So technically...I was almost 16."
"Okay...first of all..." Draco was speaking loudly letting it all sink in. "Your birthday was last month? More on that later I think. Secondly...I have no idea where you got a time turner from but I'd like to know. Thirdly! ...I cannot believe you are letting Krum off on account of a technicality. No matter how old you were he still thought that you were 14, when he was 17 and yet he still sleeps with you...That's illegal, and gross!" Draco argued.
"I know...plus he really was terrible in bed."
"Really?" Draco's lips quirked at bit at that.
"So, so, so bad..."
"I knew it!" Draco grinned, happy that Krum really was a piece of shit.
Hermione grimaced. "I didn't really have a very clear head that night. Ron had been a complete bastard as usual and Ginny found me crying. She gave me a pep talk and I ended up shagging an international quidditch player who thought I was underage...I know, it was stupid." Hermione still regretted it now. There were a few moments silence before Draco spoke again.
"Well, it makes sense..."
"What?"
"You were absolutely stunning that night Hermione." Draco revealed, staring up at the ceiling, his arm draped around her shoulders. "It made sense that you lost your virginity whilst looking as breath-taking as you did at the Yule Ball."
Hermione couldn't help it. She didn't know what was wrong with her but her eyes started brimming with tears. She wasn't crying, she was just very happy. Hermione blinked back the tears before lying flush against her boyfriend's chest, her legs either side of him and she laid a hot open mouthed kiss onto his breast bone, making him look down at her.
"Hermione what's wrong?" Draco looked terribly concerned.
"Absolutely nothing." She smiled, her eyes still a bit glassy, bringing her face up to his.
Draco brought one of his hands up to her face. "Ssshhshshs hey." He lulled. He brushed his right index finger along her jaw line and across, what he thought was the most delectable lower lip he had ever seen.
Out of the corner of her eye Hermione could see the glint of Draco's family signet ring on his thumb. She also caught the glint of the platinum stud in his ear and the shimmer of the mother of pearl dragon on Draco's guitar as well. But no matter what, Hermione couldn't seem to take her eyes off Draco's, they were just constantly flicking from one pupil to the other.
Draco was in much the same dilemma. He found their breathing to be laboured, it was like all the air had been taken out of the room for a moment and all that was left was the two of them...stuck, in an endless vacuum. Draco never wanted to leave.
"Hermione, I..." They both gasped. They didn't know how long they had been staring at each other, Hermione laying over him, her hair pooling around him face lightly. But it seemed that they'd forgotten that they were able to speak and the sound of Draco's voice startled the both of them.
A swirling, fluttery sensation started to form in the pit of both their stomachs. Breathing was erratic and without any words being spoken, they both knew...
'I don't think we can hold back anymore.' Draco thought.
"Hermione, I...I know it's only been a few days..." Draco's voice was barely audible, a mere whisper. "But I think I..." There were tears in her eyes again, she knew. She didn't need him to say it. He had done more for her in the past few days than Ron had done that year. She was openly crying now.
"I know Draco, I know, me too..." She managed before kissing him as fully and as passionately as she could. Draco wrapped his arms around her nimble form tighter than he thought possible and kissed her ferociously back, never wanting to let her go. There was an ache and a need generating from both their chests that was so strong and primal it almost hurt.
I fucking love her.
I love him so damn much.
