The encouragement made me want to continue this :). This chapter has quite a lot of discussions, sorry if you don't like that.
Chapter 4-Accidents
BEEP! BEEP! GET UP NOW PINKY! LAZY GIR-!
A lazy hand slapped her alarm clock, stopping its annoying ringing and ending the tune before it could get to its irritating song.
Sakura smiled, remembering the time her dad had bought the unique present for her.
Pushing the duvet off her, she stood and started to dress wordlessly. Putting on her skirt, the pink haired girl couldn't believe she had spent the whole of yesterday-her first day at her new school-thinking about a boy! 'A fit boy though...' Her mind supplied. 'Cute and clever also.' Her traitorous thoughts continued. 'His hair, the little spikes, how he tied my shoelace and not to mention he's also in a gang!'
"No!" Sakura paused, ending her mental list. The pink head then shook her head violently, refusing to think being in a gang was good, in contrast to her mind.
Unfortunately for her, she had been putting her socks on when she shook her head and as she noticed this, her body fell forward and slipped. Her knees slammed onto the floor like a dead weight and her front half skidded partly across her rough red carpet. She pushed herself up, her socks forgotten on the ground.
"Oh fuck!" Sakura cursed a little as she stared down at her elbows, analysing the scraped skin and blood dripping slowly onto the floor. The right one was slightly worse because a larger and deeper patch of skin had been ruined, and this meant that she had even more blood loss. "How am I going to clean this carpet?!" Sakura screamed worriedly, raising her arms above her head. Realising the pain increased, she stopped her panicking and decided her injuries were the priority. Standing up, she realised her already injured knees would start to bruise and she cringed.
Quickly stripping off her pyjama top, she put her white blouse on, avoiding her elbows and thanking the weather for being warm so she could wear a short sleeved shirt.
Running downstairs, she sprinted to the kitchen. Her elbows had stopped bleeding, and Sakura decided now would be the best time to clean them. Cringing at the pain as the water assaulted her wounds, she looked around her relatively new (she moved in last week with her family) apartment for a bandage.
When the green eyed girl was done cleaning the blood off the sink, she towelled her injuries and physically searched for a medicine cabinet in the kitchen. Discovering her parents hadn't built one yet, she decided her best bet was to go to the infirmary at Konoha High to get a free one. For now, wrapping her elbows loosely in a cloth would have to do.
After that, she hastily prepared for school and ten minutes later, she was ready. Chewing on her last bite of sandwich, she grabbed her bag and carried her blazer out the door.
Sakura then locked her door(Apartment 7) and made her way down from the third floor, eventually exiting the building. Her parents wouldn't be back until 5pm, so she knew she had enough time to finish cleaning the blood from her carpet.
She lived in the city centre, which was about half an hour away from the only school with outstanding results. Hopping onto the bus, she found that it was filled with lots of other Konoha High students.
'Where am I going to sit?' Sakura's eyes worriedly darted round the rows of seats, searching for a familiar face. She found it, in the form of two buns.
"Tenten!" The pink head called excitedly, almost pushing people to get near the back of the bus where her friend sat.
"Hey Sakura! What's up?" Tenten waved, moving closer to the window so her friend could sit.
"Just panicking about where to sit." The new girl honestly answered.
"It's okay. Are you gonna get the bus everyday? If you are, you're welcome to sit with me." The brown haired girl smiled sweetly, swinging her legs as the bus started to drive.
"Really? That would be great! Thanks! What stop do you get on?"
The brown eyed girl raised an eyebrow. "This one, I'm normally one of the first people from here to enter the bus."
Sakura's mouth parted. "That means you must live somewhere near me! We could go home and back together everyday! Wanna meet up, if you don't that's fine." She didn't want to pressure her new friend.
Tenten shrugged casually, to her the pink head seemed harmless. "Sure, I live in Konoha City MC Apartments, apartment 9. It's like, the third floor."
The pink haired girl jumped in reply, breaking her face into a large smile. "I'm the same, apartment 7! Third floor, like you!"
The weapons admirer grinned at her friend. "I guess that means we'll be getting a lot closer everyday."
Sakura nodded happily in response. "I'd like that."
The chatter continued from the other students, but the new girl was happy to listen and glad that one of her friends was closer than she imagined.
"What's wrong with your elbows?"
Sakura jumped, not expecting a comment. "Oh these?" She struggled to point at her elbows. "I slipped."
Tenten peered close to her. "You don't seem like a clumsy girl. Something," The brown haired girl winked. "Or someone on your mind?"
The injured teen blushed. 'How could she know that?' "N-No I fall over sometimes."
Her friend decided not to push it. "You should find some proper bandages."
"Y-yeah once I arrive I think I'm gonna hurry to the infirmary. Though I don't know where it is."
"I'll show you. I've been there plenty of times."
Sakura turned to her friend. "Why?"
A rosy hue appeared on the brunette's face. "I help out my childhood friends."
"Do they get into a lot of fights?"
"One of them, Rock Lee is always trying to stop gang members. My other friend, no best friend, is Hyuuga Neji." She smiled. "He's always stopping Lee before the fight escalates, but gets injured in the process."
"Is that Hinata's brother? Do you like this guy?" Sakura questioned.
Tenten shook her head. "He's her cousin. Sure, I like him."
"As a friend?" The pink haired girl prodded.
"More actually." The brown-eyed girl replied, not elaborating.
Sakura was happy for Tenten, because the brunette had confidence, and want afraid to say she liked Neji as more than a friend. "I wish you the best with him." The green-eyed girl said kindly, glancing towards the window. She saw a hooded man in an alleyway, holding what looked like a knife.
"Can you tell me more about Orochi's gang in school?"
The weapons admirer furrowed her brows. "Are you sure? Ino is the one you should be looking for. The boss is called Orochimaru though, careful if you say it wrong. The gang is called Hebi. It's like your typical gang, drugs and money, sluts and fights and thieves. But apparently Hebi is experimenting on people with a new type of strength enhancing drug that can make you feel powerful, and they're going to sell it for loads of money and take it themselves. That pretty much puts them above the other brainless gangs."
Tenten paused for a second, letting Sakura process her description.
"I heard the slimy boss wants to gain power over Konoha so is doing it the underground way and through the people. Ha! As if the government would ever cave to the likes of him, at least the old ones who want to keep Konoha's old ways. It's rumoured he'll try to sell his finished drug to the corrupt, younger members of the government."
"Hebi sounds absolutely horrible! People in the school are actually in that gang?!" Sakura gasped.
Tenten nodded grimly. "Even Uchiha."
"I wonder why."
"No one knows, except maybe Naruto." The brunette continued.
"Apparently Uchiha is in it for the money, and is pretty high up in the ranks as he's been a gang member for quite some time."
"Is Naruto a member? How do you know Sasuke is a member?" The pink haired girl couldn't stop her curiosity.
"No Naruto is too good for that! Uchiha however has a tattoo on his neck. Allegedly, members who have tried the drug receive the tattoo, and only high ranking members can get the tattoo."
The bus was pulling to a stop gently, at the entrance of the school. Sakura wanted to lighten the mood. "Wow, Tenten. I thought you said Ino would know more."
Her brown haired friend blushed. "I just listen out to what people say, that's all."
The injured teen laughed. Soon, both of them were giggling together.
Sakura sighed as lay on a bed in the infirmary, waiting for the nurse to bandage her elbows.
"Sorry I took so long, but I'm sure you won't be late." Shizune, a black haired woman spoke kindly.
"It's okay. Can I take some bandages home? I've just moved in last week and I need some medical supplies."
The nurse smiled gently as she wrapped Sakura's elbows. "Sure, I'll get some for you after I'm done." The lady quickly conjured a roll for her to take home, along with a couple plasters.
The teen gazed at her neatly dressed elbows while accepting the supplies. "Thanks, how long have you been working here?"
"Since the start of this school!" The woman exclaimed. "I trained hard and long to get to where I am!"
"Do you know where I can get any work experience in the medical field?" Shizune raised her eyebrows. A student had never asked her such a thing before.
"Every weekend, I work at Konoha hospital as a doctor in the accident ward. I work as a doctor and nurse but it's great! I can ask my boss if they'll sign you up as my shadow. But I'm better at nursing than being a doctor, just to warn you." The woman winked.
Sakura jumped, and almost attacked the lady with a hug. Almost. "Thank you very much! I've got to go now."
The bandaged teen exited the infirmary and skipped towards her homeroom. Today would be a good day for her, she decided. Looking out the window, the blue sky seemed to agree.
Unfortunately, she slammed into another figure. They both went tumbling down.
"Why am I always hurting myself? Maybe Tenten's right, I am clumsy." Sakura muttered as she heaved herself up.
"Hn."
"Oh my god I am so sorry!" The girl apologised frantically, attempting to lift Sasuke up. "The infirmary is right there, hold on I'll-"
"You're annoying. I'm fine." The boy stood up to his full height, leaving Sakura to look up at him.
"Yeah, sorry." The pink haired girl scratched her neck awkwardly.
Sasuke's arm reached out hold her wrist. "Are you hurt?" His voice turned darker. "Who did this to you?"
Sakura was confused about his dark mood. "I'm fine now. I just slipped this morning, that's all." He let go of her wrist while she quickly put her blazer on, not wanting anymore questions.
"Your knee is bleeding."
"Huh, it's probably dried blood from befor-oh!" She noticed it too, a thin thread travelling down her leg. Then she saw the bruises that formed. Closing her eyes and waving her arms she tried to brush it off as nothing. "I'm fine. I'll just wipe this up. So Sas-" He was gone.
'How rude. A bye would of been nice.' With that, she proceeded to homeroom.
"Here."
A tiny package was thrown at her and she hurriedly caught it. Sakura stared. Inside were two large plasters(big enough to cover her knee) and a wipe for the blood. 'That was weird,' she thought 'You could only get these plasters from the infirmary. Unless he already has some in his pocket.'
"Oh thank y-"
"Don't mention it." The dark haired teen started to walk away. Sasuke didn't want to admit it, but he also wasn't paying attention when he was walking. He had done enough to fix it, and now he could go.
Sakura stood alone in the corridor, shocked by his kindness. 'How could a gang member care?'
"I'm not sure."
Ino sighed. "Come on Sakura! It's just one evening at Ichiraku's! It'll be fun; you, me, Hinata, and Tenten."
"No." Sakura replied.
"Why not?!" The blonde whined.
"Because I need to help my mum with painting the living room."
"Seriously? At dinner time?" The pink haired girl blushed, and picked up her sandwich. It was lunch anyway. Finishing a bite, she said "Oh fine, I guess I can go." In truth, she was slightly cautious. The blonde seemed to be sudden, doing one thing and then another without warning. Sakura also didn't know the city yet, and in the evening was when crime reached its highest.
"Yay! It's gonna be so fun!" Ino jumped up, accidentally knocking her fries over.
'For you,' The pink head thought, planning to install some safety rules into her. She'd wait until a later time.
"Hey girls, how are-whoa!" A boy tripped on some stray fries and grabbed the table, causing Hinata to scream slightly.
"N-Naruto-kun!"
"Heh heh. I'm fine! Hello Hinata, Ino, Tenten, Sakura-chan."
"Where's Sasuke-kun?" Ino asked eagerly.
Naruto averted his eyes but answered. "He's busy, had some homework in the library."
"Wow, that's so dreamy. A guy who studies." The blonde believed it straightaway. Sakura narrowed her eyes.
"Are you alright Naruto?"
The blond boy smiled widely, "Why wouldn't I be?"
The green eyed girl shrugged, and stood up. "Excuse me guys. I'm gonna go to chemistry, I've got to ask sensei about the homework."
Ino waved, "Bye Sakura!"
The pink haired teen headed determinedly down the corridors, searching for black haired boy.
A few seconds later, a pair of muscled arms grabbed her before she could get further.
