Dedicated to my dear MasterHama, who stuck with me and made sure I got this done (Eventually)

I know it's been a long time, and everyone has been asking "are you gonna finish it?" And my answer has always been "eventually."

Due to "recent" story developments in the canon, things are now only taking place as I tell them. This is now pretty much 2 years after King Worm, only none of the Canon has happened.

It's a fan fic, don't like it, don't read it.

Now I'm ready, so just sit back, relax, grab a Dr. Pepper, and

Enjoy

"You sure you want it to be her?"

"Yes."

"So it shall be. I'll check back in a month. You'll have tonight, then everything will change. Any questions?"

"What happens to this Finn?"

"Everything will be as it is, your current consciousness just travels around. It's like leaving anywhere, things still happen, you're just not there."

"Okay… I'm okay with that…"

And with that, Billy melted into the ground and disappeared, going wherever it may be that he goes to so he can perform the spell. Truth is, Finn didn't to pry much into something that could destroy an entire universe. Maybe not an entire universe, but a branch of reality differing from the others. And maybe not destroy either, just bar Finn from traveling between them. All this was starting to make his head hurt.

Finn clutched at his hat for a moment, his hands ducking underneath the edges and inside to massage his temples. It was mostly useless, but a few breathes of the cool night air brought some relief. Finn retracted his mitts and carried about walking back to the Candy Kingdom. He supposed that people may be getting suspicious of his monthly walks, but knew they'd be more focused on Bubblegum. After several months bedridden and burned, she was finally able to get up and take Finn's place as ruler. Finn got a break, at her insistence, but she still required multiple people to make sure she was well taken care of and that her wounds weren't too painful. It was hard to watch, but she was tough. And so was Finn, for what he was doing. Knowing this was the last day you were ever going to spend with a person, a person you've loved for a long time, and not being able to tell them? Finn was saddened beyond belief.

I need Jake. He thought, knowing the yellow mutt would have something to say to lighten the mood.

Be it bad advice, a strange series of words, a bumpin' rap, or just some sort of consolation, the dog always knew how to make Finn better. Hell, he introduced Finn to Flame Princess. The thought of their first meeting still made Finn feel something he could only describe as "weird" in the pit of his stomach. He got the same feeling whenever he was around Marcy or FP. And PB, but Finn was trying not to think of that one.

Sooner or later, Finn always drifts into the Candy Castle. Sometimes he'd wander, sometimes he'd hang around, maybe even assist various candies in their daily duties, but he'd always end up home. The second he reached the top of the steps though, Finn brightened up as much as he could, took a breath, then went to spend a few final hours with his queen. The pink lady sat, clearly uncomfortably, on her throne, listening to the ramblings of yet another candy, but gave Finn a small smile when he walked in. PB called the hearing to an end and Finn went up to meet her.

"How's it goin Prubs?" The adventurer asked when he neared, looking over the queen for her noticeably receded burns. Not a single one in sight.

"Pretty- agh- gooood." She answered, adjusting her position to a more relaxed lay, cringing at every motion.

It always hurt deep in Finn's little boy heart to see her in pain, especially since he couldn't do anything about it. No one even knew what happened to the Cyclops' eye that Finn had.

"You wana go see a movie or something? Hang out? Go for a walk? I could pull the wheelchair up." Finn suggested, already motioning for Peppermint Butler to fetch the chair.

"Maybe going through the gardens would be nice…" PB answered weakly.

Finn and Peppermint Butler carefully maneuvered the queen into her wheelchair, then Finn took to wheeling her outside. The air was cooler than before, the moon was higher, and the candied and natural plants all moved quietly in the breeze. It was chilly, but not to the point where one would need a jacket, just the embrace of someone close. Sadly, due to Bubblegum's condition, that would be more excruciating than sweet. Finn had tried.

The royal couple settled near a small pond where ducks, a frog or two, and algae gathered. It was rare for truly natural things to pop up in the Candy Kingdom, so this was a well visited and very much appreciated area. During the day, lovers and loners alike would gather to take in the area. The strange menagerie of sweets and nature always made the gardens a nice place to visit. Though tonight the pond was empty save for the King and Queen, and it was much appreciated. Finn sat on a bench and helped PB to sit next to him. She leaned over and Finn wrapped his arm around the gummy girl, he felt her whole body wince with pain and instantly lifted his arm.

"Sorry! Sorry, I guess I forgot…" Finn tried to explain.

"It's okay, I feel fine after it's there for a moment. It's just the initial part that gets me." The former-princess said forgivingly.

Finn once again lowered his arm, felt her wince, then all was calm. The two watched as various creatures made waves ripple across the pond, never giving it a moment of rest, but so was nature.

"I love you… a um… a whole lot. You know that, right?" Finn asked nervously.

"Of course I do, silly!" Bubblegum answered, "We've been through a lot… a lot more than I've been through with a lot of other people. I appreciate it. All those times you've saved me, all those goofy little things you'd do back when you were younger, you're a very special person, Finn."

The boy, being the utmost of corny, was fighting back tears. Though, like most of the emotions he tried to control, a few just slipped through.

"Something wrong?"

"No just… memories… Jake and all that." Finn lied.

"Maybe I can help take your mind of that…" Bubblegum suggested, painfully moving herself onto Finn's lap.

"Wont this hurt like… a lot?" The adventurer suggested, concerned as ever.

"It's okay," PB calmed him, "I can take it. Just focus on me."

She leaned in, giving her hero a few quick kisses, then a few long ones, then a few deep ones, and soon they were completely lost in each other. Neither knew how much time would pass, not that it would matter anyway. After an innumerable amount of time spent on the bench alone, Finn carted PB up to their room where they would spend their final night.

"Princess?"

"Hmm?" Answered a strange voice.

Finn opened his eyes, seeing a fairly large Marceline standing in the doorway to their bathroom.

"Nothing. Just another dream."

Truth is, it was hard to tell anymore.

Truth is, he may have checked out of reality a long time ago.

Don't worry you fiends, more will arrive soon

I finally got that done, and now the story can continue.

PB is now off the voting roster, so it's purely between Marcy and FP

Ignore canon

And vote.

Like I said, this is devoted to The Masterhama, my very close friend and a really cool chick whom I enjoy very much

Also she begged me for this

Often.
