I know this is kind of a short chapter, but with so much going on I don't really have the energy to write extraordinary long chapter.
But here is a chapter full of "tender moments" as requested. It's kind of funny since I had this chapter planned out even before the review & it just fits so perfectly!
Thank you for your lovely words & enjoy reading!

"Some praise the Lord for Light,

The living spark;

I thank God for the Night

The healing dark."

― Robert W. Service

Sensing the tension hadn't fully left her body just yet he got up from the couch and smiled down at her.
"Come with me." He said, getting an insecure look from her in reply. "Don't worry Zi, it's nothing bad." With that she took his hand and followed him into the hall of her apartment.

"You might want to wear this." Tony was now holding up one of her cardings for her to take and she took it without much question.

After grabbing the keys they both left the apartment and she wondered where he was taking her.
They silently made their way towards the elevators and when they stepped in she wondered why they were riding up and not down. "Tony?" She quietly asked him, still not knowing what his plan was.

"Wait for it." He shot her another reassuring smile before the elevator arrived at its destination.
Exiting it she saw a rather small staircase leading to, what she assumed, the rooftop of the apartment building.

Silently taking her hand he squeezed it before leading her up the stairs and onto the roof. As soon as she stepped through the door she was greeted with a breathtaking view over the city and an even more beautiful view at the night sky.

"Wow." She whispered in amazement, immediately being mesmerized by the endless amount of start above their heads.

"I thought you would like it." He murmured and gently pulled her along towards the edge. When he stopped walking he spread out a blanket, something she didn't know he had taken along as well. At his sign she settled down next to him and immediately shuffled closer to rest her head on his shoulder.

"This is beautiful." She had been staring at the night sky for several minutes now, in silence and with eyes shining oh so brightly.

"It is." He agreed as he caught glimpse of a smile flitting across her face and returned it without a second thought.

At the same time he noticed her body starting to shiver slightly from the cold around them and instinctively pulled her a little closer and started rubbing her arm and for the first time in weeks she felt a sense of peace as the city beneath them continued to live and breathe while they were up here, listening to bustling sound of a busy night and allowing it to lull them.

"I think we should go back, huh?" Tony sent her a warm smile as he saw her eyes falling closed ever so often.
"Yeah." Her voice was already laced with sleep and she was glad that Tony was there to guide her back towards her apartment.

Once back inside she quickly got changed into a warm pair of pajamas and got under the covers, waiting for Tony to join her.

Dressed in a sweatpants and simple shirt he slipped into bed as well and watched Ziva for a moment who was seemingly lost in thoughts again.

It took her a while to notice him looking at her but when she did an ever so small smile appeared on her lips before she voiced her thoughts.

"Thank you Tony." Her voice was small, yet somewhat certain. "I mean for tonight. It was what I needed after, well after everything." He could see her blushing slightly but let go of it when he replied.

"Always Zi. And I enjoyed it just as much." Silence settled between them as they both let their minds wander to the latest events.

"I think we should try to get some sleep." Tony broke the silence after a few minutes and saw her nodding next to him.

Watching her getting settled down he reached over to turn off the lamp and followed her lead in lying down.

By now he was used to her shuffling closer until her back was resting against his chest and she wouldn't fully relax until his arm was protectively wrapped around her waist. And tonight would be the first night she wouldn't be plagued by nightmares and this fact brought a sense of peace to him as well.
