Chapter 11- Clash of the Diamonds.

James's P.O.V
Well today the day I go to court to fight for Jordan. When I came downstairs Lexi was in a navy blue sundress and I could see the small bump already appearing. "Morning sweetie", she said handing me a plate of Waffles. I smiled and kiss her cheek and then the baby bump. "Morning Lex how are you and baby feeling", I asked as I sat down. "Well my morning sickness faze is gone and the baby is good so it won't be long now before we feel the first kick", she said kissing my forehead. I sighed and gently hugged her. "Hey don't worry okay. I know this isn't easy but I'm going to be there to support you and Jordan", she said as she poured me a cup of coffee. 'you know I'd be lost without you right", I asked smiling kissing her cheek gently. "I know baby I know. I'd be lost without you too", she replied pecking my lips. After I finished eating Lexi and I dropped the girls off at her moms so then we picked up Jordan and Carlos and went to the court house.
~Few minutes later~
When we got to the court house we were the first ones there so I had Lexi sit next to my mom behind where Carlos, Jordan and I are sitting. A few seconds Melanie in and she glared at me and then Lexi which got me mad and then she glared at Lexi's baby bump and before she could even make one little snotty comment the judge came in and My lawyer and Melanie's lawyer made their opening statements. The judged looked over the files and then asked me how long I've been taking care of Jordan by myself as a single father and I told him since the day he was born. An hour went by and then he finally made his ruling… I was granted full custody of Jordan but Melanie has to pay me the money she owes me in child support.
Later on when we got home Lexi seemed upset and when I asked her about it she told me it was nothing but I already know is not true so I took her outside so we can have a private conversation. She and I sat on the deck outside. I leaned over and kissed her cheek gently as I always do when I know when Lex is upset about something. "Alright Diamond you were right something is bothering me. I hated the way", Lexi said with a deep and sad sigh. "I didn't like it either love but that's how she is", I said holding her closer and for the rest of the night we spent hanging out with our family until the door bell rang.
I got up to see who it was and I was really surprised to see Melanie. "What do u want", I asked trying to be nice which is really hard right now after what happened when she saw Lexi. "I just wanted to congratulate you and Lexi on your engagement and on your pregnancy. I hope your baby knows how lucky he or she is to have you both as parents", she said as she handed me two envelopes. One had money she owed in Child support and in the second was a check for Lexi and me for purchasing things for the baby. I quickly looked up to thank her but she was already gone so I went back inside to show Lexi and she was just as surprised as I was. So we decided to put the child support money into Jordan's college bound found. I just wish I could have thanked Melanie for her generosity. It's amazing how some people can change and I'm going to teach that to the baby and to the older kids to always look for the best in people even if they hurt them. Melanie has defiantly changed and I hope someday she could be in Jordan's life.
That night Lexi woke me up and put my hand on her bump and I felt our baby move. We both hugged each other happily but not too tight and then we went back to sleep smiling.
